The tour guides are really nice and makes it a super fun and interesting tour
Definitely the place to go when you have only time to visit one of the royal palaces. You can expect an interesting insight into the history of London and the royals who lived there. On weekends, cues for tickets and the crown jewels can be really long. So if you have the opportunity, I would recommend going early in the morning and avoiding especially Saturdays. Make sure that you do one of the guided tours, which start right after the entrance every half an hour and are included in the ticket price. The guides (Beefeaters) are really enthusiastic and do a great job. Good information and lots of laughs. Make sure that you also see the White Tower which displays an impressive collection of amory and historic artefacts.
Take the guided tour. Its worth hearing the stories.
Loved every minute of it. Would go again. Specially recommend the Beefeater tours, last only 45 mins but packed full of information. Don't even have to pay extra for them!
This is a great historical building made even better by the fact that at the moment it's not too busy. All but the torture room and the cafe was open. There are hand sanitisers around and masks must be worn inside. The yeomen were happy to talk to people and the ravens were around too. It is an enjoyable 20minute walk from London Bridge station but it is also possible to reach it from other stations.
One of the most significant historical structures in the London area is most definitely worth a visit. This is a massive complex that has an immense amount to see, including the White Tower and the English Crown Jewels.
I would recommend buying your tickets online in order to skip the massive lineup that will normally be there for tickets. Getting the audio guide is recommended, as it helps to elaborate and expand upon the various exhibits found throughout the castle.
If you want to see the Crown Jewels and not wait in line for over an hour, one should probably get here when it opens and go straight there. That said, there's so much more to see here other than the Jewels.
If you actually take your time going through here, you'll likely spend upwards of 5 hours touring the complex. Well worth the visit.
Not worth 29 pounds, it's an alright museum but not worth the money. I liked the old armor but that was about it. The main attraction is the crown jewels but pictures online are better.
Definitely worth a visit lots of history and interesting facts
Amazing place with a ton of history. Definitely visit the white tower and the treasury.
Helpful staff pointing out the historical facts. Obviously loads of history combined with the unique location. Catering facilities. Paid parking nearby.
Very good, loads to see, and extremely well presented. I wouldn't bother with the audiobook as I got lost with it and gave up. I prefer to walk round the outside and then go in, rather then meander through mini tours like the guide wanted. Personal preference though. Can get busy, especially around the Crown Jewel's section. Lots of people moving very slowly through these areas! But they have a nice moving walkway in front of the actual crown to keep people moving. The ravens are cool, and there is a lot of stuff going on that you can join.
I really like this place it was very interesting and they people acting were extraordinary beside that there were a few teen agers being bell ends trying to fight me but not your fault.
Went support thr Sea Cadet band competition. Excellent event well done Sea Cadets
Don't go on a Sunday. Its closed. Went here by a free boat cruise. Courtesy of 'the original tour' hop on hop off bus tour. Can see the tower of London and supposedly the famous Kohinoor diamond, crown jewels n some other cool stuff, war memorial and the tower bridge which ppl think is the London bridge. U can go back by the same cruise boat or get back to yellow line hop on hop off bus from here.
Amazing. One of my fave places in London. And everyone is so nice, knowledgeable and helpful!
Beautiful setting for some festive ice skating. The ice was melting due to the warm weather so people who fell over ended up rather wet. Great heaters in the cafe area though so easy to dry off with a warm drink afterwards.
A must see if you re visiting London! So much history! And join in on a yoeman walking tour before you explore on your own for more insights. I had 3 1/2 hours there the other day and really could have used at least two more hours, so leave plenty of time.
Interesting day out with plenty to see. I think there should be a pricing structure that allows local residents reduced entry vs. tourists but we had a lovely day out regardless.
Decent enough classical tourist attraction. Really scores on actual location within 5 - 10 minutes walk, a bustling south bank from the mayor's building and pockets around the north bank, these effective make the tower more of a go to destination. It's also a bus hop away from brick lane/shoreditch.
This was by far one of my favorite experiences while in London. We had the opportunity to tour this place after hours and had some really amazing guides that shared with us the history. It was really need to be able to walk through so much history and see all of the family jewels. We also got to have dinner up in the top of the London bridge. Find a way to get invited to a party up there.
Fabulous place to see the crown jewels and have some history lessons. Worth a visit using a tour guide.
It's a must do in London. You can walk through all the towers and battlements learning about the evolution if London and the Castle. You can walk in the main keep where there is a nice display if armor and weapons from past times.
The crown jewels are in there as well so I think it's worth it in itself to just go see those. They even bring you through the history of the gems and jewels found on the crowns.
I reccomend going early. It gets very busy around lunchtime. I would leave about 1hr 30min if you see everything quickly and add 45min if you take your time.
(Its also a great place to photo op with a Royal Guard.)
The ceremony of keys was a step back in time. Magical.
Stood in line over an hour. Was disappointed no pictures could be taken and really disappointed there were not more jewels. I should have researched.
We have been there twice and what a day out. So much to learn and lovely view all around.
Been twice this year, couldn't get near the crown headwords on either occasion. The queue is endless , and it's the main attraction to go to in the tower Don't waste your money off your want to see them. Get a book.
Nice to cross over the tower bridge and go around the castle, then back from the London bridge.
I don't know what I expected, what a wonderful day out. My girls are both just under 10 and really enjoyed themselves, there's a lot to see a do.
3 days my vacation it's beautiful place to se its amazing
You can see the most beautiful and expensive king s and queen s crown. The crown made by the largest diamond in the world.
The Beefeater tour is brilliant,,, you need a full day in here if you want to see everything,, queue for Crown jewels very long,,,, don't miss The Tower tour if in London, brilliant
It was a great experience but not great for small kids
Make sure you equip yourself with guidebook or app, or rent audio guide there. Definitely worth visiting. Especially when you or your kids know the history of Tower. It can make exciting day out. We spent there four hours and will have to visit again to see bits that we couldn't due to limited time:) Be aware that it is quite expensive. Guess like most London visits:)
Give back Kohinoor .. Good place.. Took an audio tour. Go early otherwise there will be long line to see Kohinoor. They shows history of royal family and their crown. It's fascinating
The crown jewels are really pretty however the queue takes about an hour to get through. If you're done with that or fed up with queueing there's plenty of other stuff to do
First time I have seen the tower of London am 58 and what a fabulous place it was but give yourself plenty of time so much to see and do.
Very interesting and historic place plus you get to take a look at the Crown jewels
My husband and I went on a gorgeous day and enjoyed walking the tower wall between interesting exhibits. There's something there for everybody. We didn't get a chance to see the Crown Jewels (the line was ages long), but we were fine with that. Also, it was the only place in London where we saw a Queensguard soldier up close. Got a great picture with the guard behind - the only thing my husband wanted to do on the whole trip! Great experience overall.
Very interesting. Go early to beat the lines, especially if you want to see the crown jewels.
Scott Kelly was absolutely phenomenal. We had a really great time on the tour. Learned a lot, had a nice sunny day.. A+
Really cool place. So much history. You can see the Royal Jewels and learn so much about London and the Royal family. Huge area so be prepared to walk alot and there's alot of staircase.
Doesn't look like it from the outside but there is a lot to see here. Recommend the beefeater tour, it's all about torcher at the castle and is about 40 minutes long. The crown jewels are impressive. The line only took 20 minutes and it was long, it went pass the main queue and ice cream stand. Worth getting and ice cream and flake while you wait. They have their own changing if the guards, torcher room, chapel, white tower, gift shops and more to discover. We were here 2.5 hours and didn't get to see everything, just the main areas.
Amazing place, chock-full of fascinating history, presented gallantly, yet with humour by seemingly all-knowing Yeoman Wardens.
The tower of london was a pleasent surprise. We went there , bought a ticket and expected to have a look around. We saw(my son,and I) some people waiting for a tour. We waited and with. The tour started with a yewman, that lifted our spirit and made the experience different. He was telling the history of the tower and the tragic of the prisoners, the history of the queens and kings. A strong vote for this site..
The Tower of London is steeped with history. Beheadings; all ex-wives of King Henry the VIII's. Kidnapped and murdered children. People locked in the towers. Beef Eaters. Animals. Crows. Beautiful views, especially of the Tower Bridge. The Crown Jewels. #LocalGuides
Buy tickets from the Tower's website and print them in advance. They will be cheaper and you will only have to queue up in one line. Any other arrangement and you will have at least 2 lines. Go early. Go to the Crown Jewels first. It is EASY to spend all day here. Bring snacks. If you take the Yeoman's tour, tip the guide. The tour in the White Tower is underrated. We had Gareth and he was witty, deeply knowledgable, and awesome. Speak kindly to the ravens... perhaps to the point of flattery.
Stunning history, a wonderful day out for all ages.
Absolutely brilliant. Took our 13 year old grandaughter. The guide was interesting and funny. (spike) we went on the tour and then around again on our own. Went and saw the crown jewels. Lovely day out.
Great place. If you want to see the crown jewels get there early. The number of people queuing around lunch time was unbelievable
Brilliant, quote pricy but feels like good value for it. We had lunchgrom the hotdog stand and saw the crow jewels. Can't complain about that.
Been 3 time's and will more than likely go again it's just so full of history it's fantastic
This place is amazing and a must visit if you are in London. The history behind it is like nothing else. Just imagining what took place here it makes you travel back in time.
Crown jewels is the highlight of this place for sure.
I went on the river tour with City Cruise Tours. The ambience was great with good seating and somewhere to hang your coats. The food was served warm and was tasty. Desert was delicious. We were given key facts along the route about surrounding the landmark. This was not over powering so you could continue to have a conversation. The staff were pleasant. Good toilet facilities on board. Reasonable priced for a two course meal and a tour.
Brilliant first time back in 30years. So much work had been done great day out
The ticketing process was really simple and straightforward on the day. I really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend joining the tours. The Crown jewels are a must watch!
A place of historical interest. Great guided walk by yeoman. Spent 3 hours there and didn't see everything. Would recommend to anyone. Something for everyone.
Great place to take pictures especially at night time and a lot to see and to eat too
Definitely worth to visit. I've had the chance to visit during the poppy's ceremony. Amazing atmosphere.
So much to see here, though whether it's still good value for the exorbitant entry fee is debatable. To see all the attractions expect to spend at least 4 hours on site.
Always fascinating. Tonight we saw the Ceremony of the Keys. What an amazing site. The Yeoman Warders are always amazing. Such an incredible living history lesson.
Beefeater tour was really good & entertaining. exhibits very good. crown jewels were amazing. Highly recommend.
Very disappointing. We heard the tour was awesome but after trying on two separate days we found the tour had been shortened from 3 hours to 20 min because of heat. We hoped we would learn something about the towers history by touring it on our own but all we found we re a bunch of artifacts most of which were unrelated to the tower with very short descriptions. I couldn t tell you much of anything about the towers construction, history or importance.
Wonderful and steeped in history and blood. The crown jewels are beyond belief
Another great place to visit. Best to check online to see if any special exhibitions are happening before your visit. You need a good few hours to get the benefit of visiting the Tower as you have lots to see and many photo ops. Don't More
Good place. You can go in there and see the meuseum. But be prepared to walk a bit when inside. Also, it will take atleast 1 hour even if you rush it. Much longer if you see everything patiently. Right next to the Tower Bridge another great attraction and the river Thames.
A very good experience, really enjoyed, comfortable shoes a must lots of stairs.Visit the crown jewels at the beginning of your visit long queues can then be avoided
Love the history of this place. Every time we go there it seems new.
The layout of this castle was such that it seamlessly flowed through history from start to finish. The site of the castle is preserved almost perfectly. the staff are all friendly and helpful and the line was quick at all attractions 10/10 would recommend
I spent so much time here than I anticipated. Nice historical place to visit and understand a bit of their history. Remember to join their free tour once you are inside! Well worth the visit.
Not bad. I didn't get the full stories in the history. That would have made it come more to life. Shame, but on the plus side, where else would I see such fine jewellery and regalia??
One of the best experiences of my life. A must see. Take the beefeater tour for the best insight to this magnificent historical place
Stunning castle with a huge part of English royal history , and some of the oldest castles in Europe
The actors guiding and entertaining the school groups are so much fun to watch. Why are the insides of the cups in the restaurant all covered with brown tea stains?
Really enjoyed this visit --- a must if you are in London!
Interest place to visit if you like history, expect a few queues, but not too bad the day we went, one beefeater in particular (gingery beard) I thought on two occasions extremely rude towards the public, others very friendly and approachable.
Amazing! Crown of jewels exhibut is great, but be sure to check out the rest of the place. The audio tour is definitely worth it. My husband and I spent 2 hours there right after we arrived in London, but I wish we had more time. I heard great things about the Yoeman's tours but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do it. I would come back for a second visit
,Excellent afternoon!! The Yeoman was a truly fantastic host!! What a great ambassadorial treat for all foriegn visitors and home history lovers.
