One of the most historical and iconic sites in London. Seeing the crown jewels were worth the wait. The audio tour provided just the right level of information. A must stop on anyone's London itinerary.

Big Bus Tours are a great way to see the sights in one ride around the city. We started at Waterloo Station & rode the Red Line route. The weather was unusually perfect: blue skies, cumulus clouds, perfect.

You can hop off & hop back on any of their buses until the last bus is finished for the day. They had a separate guide & driver until it was called off for shift changes. The new bus was waiting nearby. Until then, when an automated guide took over, our guide was awesome. We got so much more out of the tour before his shift ended. We were still told about the buildings of interest as we passed but it was limited to a particular building. The dead air was more prevalent than the info with the auto-guide.

The bridge wasn't even close to the only sight we saw on this 2-3 hr tour! Recommended!!

We visited the tower yesterday 21/12/19.
Had a brilliant few hours there and could have stayed longer.
The tower and artifacts are great and the Beefeater tour guide we had was superb. He made everything very entertaining and amusing, while bringing to life the amazing history.
Only downside was the the price and standard of food in the cafe unfortunately.
A great day out nonetheless.

Excellent. Highly recommended. The Yeoman Warder guided tour is not to be missed. Meet just by the entrance in the moat, I think they are hourly, but may be more frequent. We had Chris Skaife, the Ravenmaster. Very informative, laid back and funny guy. His book The Ravenmaster is highly recommended too. Good idea to read it before your visit as everything will make sense when you're within the tower walls. We went in October and the place was very busy but not too busy that it felt over crowded. Good value for money and the place oozes history.

First purchase your tickets from their website, print and get in the line - for the Crown Jewels, we waited for exactly 1 hour . Photos are not allowed, did admire the Kohinoor Diamond. The castle is huge and comfortable shoes and water are must. We didn t go for any guided tour as we had less time, better to visit in the morning.

Went on a school trip with 5-7 yr olds... They had a wonderful time. So much to see. Not too crowded. Got to see everything we went to see. The crown jewels are breathtaking. Recommend going first thing and in the week if just adults or if with children go on an inset day as that too would be less busy.

If you go to London and only have time to see one place go here! The tower is steeped in history, every room you see is simply amazing and has a history behind it. The guided tour is second to none and many of the guides know the entire history of the tower. The tower also houses the Crown Jewels which are jaw dropping. If you have time stay for the changing of the guards at the crown jewels

This is a stunning example of an original castle that was original built by the invading army that killed the king of England and put this castle to protect themselves from any English that tried to expel the conquering army. I think it's Richard the Lionheart s army that erected the original Castle.

As a tourist attraction is brilliant as you can pay to enter and even have guided tours in various languages.

There are always long queues to enter this castle. so try to arrive early if you done want to wait long.

This castle has a long history and king Henry VIII had a lot to do with this history.

Well worth a visit if you have a day free

The Tower of London is just next tower bridge and is the home to the crown Jewels. There are guided tours every hour covering the outdoor part of the site and its really informative and the ppl working there are very courteous. Indoors you will find the crown jewels, which is a self guided tour.

Extremely magnificent place, worth visited Though some members of staff next to the crown jewels, were extremely rude with one of them shouting at us in front of his group in an outrageous way trying to show off or to make the funny guy?!?! I have no idea and words about this unexpectable and unacceptable incident. I think that they need to be assessed more frequently if not, in terms of their well being. They ruined our experience of this tour.

Very interesting for both adults and kids, just get your audio guide at the entrance. It depends on your family of course, but for us it was the whole day attraction. We weren't rushing, we were enjoying :) the family tour was thought very well and kept my children happy and involved. There are interactive activities for kids. From around 5,6 yo. We loved the white tower and of course the Royal Jewels, there's a cafe there if you're peckish. It was clean, not overcrowded. Highly recommended even if it is pricey.

What s not to like. If you are a history enthusiast, this should be a good place to visit. They are also able to adhere to the COVID rules and regulations and is a safe place to go. The people there are lovely.

Such an excellent place! Whether you're looking for a suitable place for a beheading, or just a long term imprisonment, be sure to check out the offerings here. They've also got some pretty decent swag if you're looking to glam it up for a royal event, or just getting fancied up for the office holiday party.

Went ice skating at Tower of London over Christmas period. Great to skate outside with the fantastic views of the Tower of London! Magical. Also nice cafe for non skaters or after skating warm up with a drink. Recommend this as a Christmasy, magical skating venue.

The history is around, everything is absolutely special. You can feel the smell of ages that had already come to pass. You can imagine and see all the great people of here. The thing is very interesting that this small piece of great history surrounded by very morden city with care, past, present and future exist together at the very same time.

We went into the Tower and were told that our guided tour was just about to leave so we headed to the meet point with a few other couples and waited. And waited. Eventually a Beefeater came by and told us that the tour had left and we could catch it up but we decided not to bother and just did our own thing. We started with an exhibition of prisoners in the tower - this covered most of the famous names and showed lots of graffiti (actually, incredibly ornate carvings rather than our modern idea of graffiti) and details of who was executed when. I didn't realise that less people were executed in medieval times at the Tower than in the first and second world wars!

We carried on exploring the tower and looking at the views and the ridiculously long queue to see the Crown Jewels before a pause for coffee in the cafe. Once refreshed we headed to the White Tower, the original Norman keep, to see the arms and armour display. This had changed hugely since our last visit many years ago and we spent well over an hour working our way through each floor. The exhibitions were excellent with a good mix of display and interactive areas and everything was well explained and labelled.

If you like history this is a definite must in London! To go through everything properly I would suggest planning to spend about 3 hours or so at the tower. I would recommend going in the 45 minute tour as you get quite a bit of information that you otherwise might not get. Loved seeing the crown jewels!

What a fantastic place, packed with history and culture! Get there at opening and go straight to the Crown Jewels - we went right in without a line. After that, take the Yeoman Warder tour and then explore on your own after the tour. Allow three hours at the very minimum!

Wow, so much to do. There are way more side tours and exhibits than there were 20 years ago. The Yeoman awardee talk was a hit with our guide personifying English dry wit to a tee. The torture chamber that we nearly missed on exit was More

Really enjoyed ourselves.
Lots to see. We had been warned of the crowds, but today was not bad at all.
We entered at 3pm as the school groups were leaving.
My partner has limited mobility and I able to be given carer access which was most appreciated.

Amazing experience for the whole family. Whether you consider yourself a history buff or not, there is surely something for everyone. Be sure to do the Yeoman guard tours that meet just left of the gate you enter through in the moat. They are extremely interesting and hilarious. You get to hear all the stories of the tower and get your bearings as to where things are. I would say you need 2-3 hours AT LEAST, plenty to be seen for sure. Would recommend booking online to save money as well. Amazing experience!

This historical place within London proper provides entertainment for hours, whether your are a history buff or if you're learning about things as you walk around.

We ended up waiting in line to see the crown jewels for around 2 hours or more. My wife and I decided to switch spots in line so one person would go see an exhibit or area while the other waited in line, holding our spot.

Can't go wrong seeing this one. Waiting outside in extreme hot could be really annoying though. We went in the winter and it wasn't too bad.

Excellent historical site, lots of free tours and interactive elements.
It is good for both adults and children with special events and exhibitions all year round.
Well worth several visits as you probably will not see everything after just one and each Yeoman does the tour slightly differently.
Also it is well worth seeing the Ceremony of the Keys in the evening, though you will have to prebook in advance.

This is a neat place to visit chalked full of history. There are a few things that could be done better to improve the experience. First, the audio tour is not worth the 5 pound cost. There should be far more information provided. For example, there is basically no info on how the structures were built nor much about the Roman walls. Second, there is poor signage and direction. Third, dare I say the crown jewels were underwhelming? Honestly, the vault door was nearly more interesting. Overall, plan to walk a lot (on uneven ground) and spend 2-3 hours. The armor of Henry the VIII was very neat, as were the ravens and old stone walls.

A very well preserved artifact of English history. The castle boasts of an amazing collection of crown jewels and weaponry. The ravens and museum is a treat for people of all ages.

Amazing record of history. Yeoman knowledgeable and interesting. A splendid way to get a crash course of British history in a half day. It is quite understandable why the monarchy and the Royalty are so appreciated. As a South African I feel proud to be part of the British Empire and look forward to renewed ties with South Africa after Brexit.

A place with a great history. A must see, but unfortunately it is over-crowded and over-priced. They must be saving up for the next monarch s crown .
The standard price includes a donation, but you can request to leave that out (the cashier will not offer you that option spontaneously).

Guided tours with wards are excellent. Audio tour is useless and difficult to handle (it's like a phone, so one hand us always busy). Online tickets are cheaper than in the office desk.
