This is the worst online school. I have previous college hours. They wanted my HS Diploma I sent it over now they want my transcript. Now I have a problem the district I graduated from closed down. So I wasted 10 weeks of my time doing work for free.

This medical academy will NOT STOP CALLING MY EFFIN PHONE!!!!!! I do NOT want to enroll after learning there credits are not accrediated whenever I am wanting to get my masters! But even though I ve said STOP CALLING ME 20+ times a day from DIFFERENT numbers after I block them: THEY CONTINUE. Do NOT give them your information unless you want a never ending cycle of phone calls. Also if you want to get more than your associates I do not recommend coming here online wise, you won t havw any transfer credits. PLEASE do you review before giving your information to them.
They will persuade the hell out of you and make you feel good when it all just a scam to get you into student debt.

I am highly disappointed in UMA. I have been battling with them to remove a charge off my account for the past 2 years that they made and want to charge me for. They placed me in the wrong class and when I discovered their mistake, they moved me into the right class and charged me a $50 fee. Are you serious?!? I cannot seem to get a competent person to answer any questions to resolve this matter, and it is beyond frustrating. They are refusing to send me my transcripts so I can finish my degree. So thanks UMA for being a waste of my time and money.

This school is amazing and I have read the negative reviews do not believe them because this school is great. Once you graduate you don't have to pay on your student loans for 6 months then you can start making payments but you can start before then. People claim they are in debt if that is the case that is because they decided not to pay on their loans. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The reason people are complaining is because they obviously not doing something right. If you want a fun and great experience then choose UMA. I will never regret choosing this school. Get your degree in no time!!!!!!

I've gone to UMA for both my phlebotomy certificate and my Medical Assistant and I loved it. The teachers really care about you and are understanding. I've had some family problems due to medical issues and they've been caring and supportive the whole time. They were in contact with me when I had to take a 14 mth leave of absence and kept in contact on and off during that time. When I was ready to go back and finish my certificate they were extremely helpful and Student Serviced encouraged me the entire way. I am currently re-enrolled and am attending for my Associates Degree. The teachers really take the time to get to know you and help you out if you are struggling. I've never had an educational experience to compare to it or a group of people who made me feel that no matter what that I could achieve my goals. During the 4 years of my attendence the staff and teachers have become like a family to me. I have three more classes and I'll have my Associates in Health Science and when I'm ready to further my career and go back for my Nursing Degree you can guarantee I'll be attending UMA. Thanks guys for your love, I couldn't have gotten this far without all of you.

I was so excited to start classes with UMA I started 3 weeks ago. Enrollment process was so nice and easy and professional. And help the whole rode with getting started then I started and financial aid called I corporated the whole time got my award letter and everything. Only was missing one document that was never given a deadline to get in which was a amended tax signature. Mind you i was active in class everyday with great grades staying in the A range and this morning I go to log in and I call because I could not access my account and was told they canceled me for incomplete financial aid. But yet i was never told these morning that I was canceled for classes. Now when I called im told I have to reenroll and start classes all over again from the beginning. This school is a complete joke at this point and it made me feel as if my success wasn't important only the dollar signs are. I had plans to refer this school to so many people but I will not be doing that at all. This going for the online school not in person.

UMA has friendly, and beyond helpful staff. I graduated from UMA two years ago. Literally two weeks after I graduated UMA's Career Advisors helped me receive my first job in my career field as an Pharmacy Technician. I've been in my field for 2 years and I love every moment of it. Still to this very day advisors check in with me to ensure that I still have a job and even offer more opportunities. How awesome is that?!
I highly reccommend this school to anyone

My fiance is currently taking the classes and seei...

My fiance is currently taking the classes and seeing all the unnecessary stress she goes through is horrible. Ive even sat through a test with her and some of the work, completely understand the frustration and the urge to leave. Ready for the long list? Questions on the tests are not even covered in the books. You have to search the internet for the answers on tests that are timed. Again I've seen this with my own eyes. Reading the chapters and no such information existed. New books put out with very low level knowledge by the instructors to give addiquit notes. Having to search 1000+ pages for one answer instead of going chapter by chapter. Worksheets as in bank deposits that are not in the books at all. Again more internet research and still not enough help. Study guides that have nothing to do with tests. No breaks to go on vacations for our family..plus being forced to do work mon-Fri even though all assignments and test have been done. She tries to get stuff done so we can actually go to family gatherings or events but get in trouble for getting work done early. So me and our children have to suffer let alone her. Recently she gets hit with two classes at once? Why? So now instead of relaxing at the end of a long day she has to sit up at night to do more work? She started off with a 4.0 now it's lower because of all the dysfunction of your system and the instructors. Even at this point I'm fighting the urge to go caveman and start using inappropriate language. There are so many more issues and I'm sure there will be many more to come. You all need to get your act together and same with your instructors. At the beginning kept on getting lied to about when she would receive the laptop. Promised in a week and I'm sure it ended up being almost 2 months. I would definitely not recommend this school to anyone and really wish there were more honest reviews on here. If she had known of all the nightmares awaiting she would have gone with another school. I'd really like to see what type of insufficient answer you will have to all of this. I had gone to Lincoln tech for auto and that was great. Well organized and if a short amount of time was needed to take off it was aloud. Made a 4.0 across the board even with working a full time job. Maybe try one instructor per course and have them trained on the material first. Really like to see her succeed and your school is making it next to impossible. Now your turn. Let see what you got to fix the problems

This school please stay away. I went through the financial aid process. They call you a lot and say we need to sign this or that paper. I had to pay some cash towards my education. They wanted to me to pay 1600 a month. I told them I couldn't afford and they cancelled my classes. They don't have any scholarships or any programs to help you. I found another school that is much better and gave me some scholars to help towards classes. Please be aware they are all about financial aid . When your a part cash or cash out student they don't give you a chance. I will never recommend anyone there.

They even talked to the school on paying for my car insurance nonowners as well as helping me on my driver license. Thanks UMA. Do not believe the negativity Tampa Fl. Helped and still helps alot.

I want to work, well I FEEL that since I have been doing my best, and you don't provide internship or externships, you should terminate my collage payment.
I this is going on for two + years. NOW I'M DONE AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU NOT GETTING OUR INTERNSHIPS/EXTERNSHIPS.
I want to thank you for nothing!!!

I started receiving phone calls from your school. I told them multiple times that I did not request this information and to please stop calling me. The calls have increased. 15 times yesterday!!! Your telemarketers are extremely RUDE!! They all say they will remove me from the list but call an hour later. I've asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that there was not one! Really? That's pretty hard to believe. I hope you teach better business practices, than you are currently engaging in.

UMA had helped me with finding a job, and making sure I can get to and from school. UMA truly does care. I feel like some students take advantage of our resources and do not leave the same opportunity for others. A lot of catty drama goes on at UMA. I guess being so small is a good and bad thing. You get more opportunities to learn in a smaller class, but you also hear everything and the school has a lot of drama.

UMA is a great school I take online classes but some of the instructors are bad I've had teachers who work with you but then their are instructors who don't wanna see you make it I currently have an instructor who is giving me such a hard time it's to the point I'm waiting for my student advisor to contact me so I can drop out. Nobody has helped me with this problem and it's like I don't wanna be in this lady's class any longer it's like if something is not done I'm leaving I shouldn't have to feel like I'm being put down when I beg and plead for help everyday but constantly being ignored .

Very nice school makes it very easy to learn and teachers are amazing. Reason for the one star is, they don t communicate to each other. Or they don t look at the notes. Or they just listen and not write it down so you are repeating your self over and over to different people and somtimes the same. Career advisors some are profesional and other are not. Went into classes thinking I was getting my associates to find out last few classes I m just getting a diploma. Very unhappy with the school. But they have amazing teacher who respond to you in a quick manor and help you out with any questions you may have. You will pay out the whistle for a DIPLOMA. Not even associates. 7,000 dollars for a diploma. Eight more classes before you get the associates so probably another 7,000 dollars. Very disappoint. And will have to start over. So if you have thousands and thousands of dollars to just burn this is the right school for you. They fill you with fake promises like I m sure you will be pleased with this program. No not really very disappointed. Wish I read the reviews before I actually started and burned my life saving. Also doubting I ll be able to get a job. Oh also top it all, they changed career advisors with out saying anything. So my new career advisor, made it extremly awkward with my employer that I wasn t wanting to leave leave just go PRN with. So know let s hope I can find a new job. Also to add to the bad communication in career section of the school. I had voiced my concern with someone about my current career adviser and NOTHING WAS DONE. so I assume I ll have to figure it out on my own.

At first I thought going to UMA would be a good choice to further my career. WRONG! I was in classes with people who plagiarized and never got reprimanded, who had no idea how to use a capital letter, and others who could not even make a simple sentence. They were all passed along through classes. I was lied to about obtaining a remote position once I graduated and took my AAPC certification. All lies. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I wish I would ve attended a college campus that s well known I ve been going to uma since March of 2018 I had to go off on a couple of employees that work for ultimate medical academy constant attitudes and rudeness and all supervisors can tell you is o we will talk to that employee or pull the call it has been a major problem and lies pertaining to your student loans you take out I don t know why they feel the need to hold on to your money but they will try it got so bad at one point I had to contact the department of educations with ultimate medical academy on the phone and when they knew the real deal was on the phone they tried to switch up I was told they were waiting for department of education to disburse funds but come to find out they were already at the school that same day the school cut the check when they were found out about department of education informed me they get calls all the time from unhappy students complaining about the school I quit going to ultimate medical academy at one point and it should ve stayed that way especially after reading all of the reviews from previous students that have already graduated and had to start over or never was successful at finding a job because the school isn t right or employers take the school as a joke so you can t get a job I am very afraid of that happening to me after graduation I ve also experienced requesting funds and didn t get my full refund and was told the bank takes out fees well I contacted cadence bank and was told the fees the bank charges is about 5 dollars verses 100 dollars that was missing from my check now I m having problems with my funds again I requested funds like towards the end of December I ve received letters from my lender as well as department of educations stating the funds were at uma and that was 2weeks ago and I keep hearing we are waiting for your lender or our bank to process the funds and that s just a bunch of lies when the department of education informed me they cut the checks straight to the school and the bank that I ve spoken with who the school stated they go through said the banks processing time is 1 to 2 business days it s been a week since I ve spoken to the bank and the school continue to tell me o the computers are talking I feel someone like irs needs to be involved for students who have such bad experiences as well as BBB and so on so this won t happen to anyone else

This school does not care about your needs that extends past what they get paid for and they can be very rude at times. They don't allow you to transfer, if you do you would still have to pay. I requested some funds and was told that it would be disbursed on the 10th of December here it is 12/16 still have not gotten it. I called the school to see why it has not arrived to me yet on the 14th and the lady I spoke with told me its that I have to take the holidays in to consideration. I requested these funds in October, they mailed me a portion of what I asked for and it was close to the holidays then when I received that check, it was Halloween to be exact. There was six business days before December to accept the funds and fifteen business days in the month of December before the actual holidays. I don't know what the problem is but I have better since than to just accept that as their answer to why they are holding my money from me. To me there is more than enough time to have sent my funds out to me there is no holiday in the beginning nore after Thanksgiving to stall the payment. As far as the online program I am enrolled into is a bit stressful more than I expected it to be and I wish I knew all I know now I would have just waited a while longer to enroll into school, I like being in front of a instructor than sitting in front of a computer all week. The school is accredited by Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. I don't know if that applies to the online programs considering I can't get accurate information on that.

Did online courses to get an degree as a pharmacy technician. Come to find out after receiving my associates from here, these credits are useless. I wasted my time with this on something that can t be used outside of their prefer colleges that they have contracts with. I am wanting to continue my educational career and get into pharmacy school. Now I have to start once again from square one because they are NOT accredited with ANY community colleges or universities in this country. $27k down the drain and nothing to show for once again (was currently a pharmacy technician when I started this program. My previous work did on the job training). It is super frustrating that they won t give you the full details on this. Don t get me wrong, this isn t bad IF you want to settle just for this. But if you are like me, wanting to continue your education endeavor, this school is not for you. Go to your local community college. It will be way cheaper for you! I m still waiting to see if this school will reimburse me on part of my tuition since for most part they did decieved me on credit transferring and was given unreasonable career job opportunities to apply for (a pharmacy technician applying for a job at a blood bank. We have no training in that!).

Don't appreciate harassing phone calls. I can't afford to attend right now and the woman who called kept asking for reasons why. If you don't have the money you don't have the money. I don't see why I need to be bombarded with questions or made to feel bad because I can't attend right now. I'm sorry I have other things to take care of I can't afford to be in debt $20,000. I understand that you can pay 6 months after you finish but I cannot risk being in that much debt right now. I rather go to my local affordable community college. Please stop calling me.

My wife graduated and was able to do an externship locally where we live, but she has failed to find a job using the degree she earned. No one here wants a degree in Health Information Technology, but were stuck paying the student loan, while my wife is working in retail sales for minimum wage. Thanks UMA counselor for advising my wife to volunteer her time at a local medial facility to get the experience she needs to get hired, so can we get the money back so she can volunteer to get the 1 year of experience that the medical field requires? We're paying for a degree that can't be used where we live.

Hello my name is Chelsea. I attended UMA last year and graduated in Admin Medical Asst. I did enjoy the school and everyone was very, very helpful. I was able to find a job 6 months after graduation. Career Services did a wonderful job and helped me through my move and all. I am looking to go back to school. UMA is a wonderful school. If you have kids and a job this would be a great school to attend to further your education. Everyone has good and bad experiences but for my first college AND it being online, they did a wonderful job.

The incessant calling is extremely uncalled for. I asked for information on the Medical billing and coding program and you all have called me 15 times for the last 3 days with 7 calls being just in one day. and I have said I will call ya ll back if I needed information. I can only imagine how it is once you are fully enrolled. I have decided I d rather just shell out $2000 for the AAPC CPC course than to have to deal with this.
I have forwarded your information to the FCC and the licensing board that certifies this school. I will be counting the calls after today and if you call again. I will forward to my Lawyer and have her settle it in court for (Calls can be between $500-$1500) if you all keep violating this rule.

I believe UMA has the most proficient & helpful staff in which they take pride in assisting their students who are actually serious about their program regardless of finance issues; so thank you for all of your help in getting me started with Healthcare Management at UMA! I'm ecstatic about obtaining my degree. However, is Ultimate Medical Academy an accredited institution in not only the state of Florida, but others as well?

I am a student on line, and I have to say, this Academy is by far the best that there is.They offer so many tools for students to use while attending. It has definitely made it easy to be on the Deans List because there are so many coaches and instructors, to help you along the way. I have to say, I am over 60 and was a little intimidated to go back to school, but I have to say, this has been an extremely wonderful experience.Thank you UMA for giving so much to the students. My career, thanks to you is just months away...Sherri Young

I m interested in going into the medical field for a career and I reached out to them for info on their programs and I talked to a lady for about 20 minutes and I told her at the end that I would be in contact if I was interested. The next day I get call and from Unknown and he literally asked me the same things from the day before, I told him I would be in contact if I was interested. Everyday since then I get calls from them and if I don t answer then it s two calls a day. They need to update notes in their database and stop trying to push people into going to school there, it s irritating getting calls from Unknown everyday. Picking somewhere to go to school is hard enough, let alone feeling like you have to pick this one because they keep calling you. I picked a different school since then and I told the lady today when they called again, I told her to take me off the calling list and she said it would take a few hours. I hope a principal or dean or whoever is in charge sees this and does something about the constant calls.

I had trouble for months. The student services ad...

I had trouble for months. The student services advisor was great, he was very helpful and genuinely cares about the students. Teachers are pretty good. However, when it came time to go on extern, everything changed. I was responsible for finding my own extern site which I was told was not my job to do. I found a site and worked at the site as well as extern on separate days. When I left my job for a better opportunity, I was told by them I wouldn't be able to continue extern there. Kevin, the one in charge of extern at UMA told me I needed to find my own site again. He blamed me for not being able to extern at that site anymore, told me I have no commitment, threw in my face that the site won't accept anyone from UMA because I left them for a better job opportunity, he was rude and degrading every single encounter I had with him. He was the same way with multiple students I still keep in contact with. I finally found a new site and left several voicemails and sent multiple emails. No response. Finally after reaching out to other people at UMA, Kevin contacted me. He asked me to come in so I did. I had to set up my level 2 background check. I did. After I left, I got a phone call that it was set up at the wrong location with the wrong company. I had already picked my children up from school and my son was sick so I couldn't drive 45 minutes back to the school that day. My only available day (brand new job, calling out or leaving early would look extremely bad, wasn't willing to lose a very good job with great benefits) was the following Wednesday so I offered to come in then and start at my new site the same evening so I could post time and be considered active so I can walk with my class that Saturday. I was then told I also needed a TB test and it had to be read in order to start which takes 48-72 hours. So obviously walking with my class was no longer an option because I wouldn't have everything done in time and have my test read in time to start, post time, and be active to walk with my class. I started trying to brainstorm. I asked if I could extern at my job for a few hours to simply post time so I could get things going so I could attend my ceremony. I called from my phone and my call was ignored so I called from my work phone and, surprise ,my call was answered. I was told "No I would have to do a site evaluation on Friday and I don't have time, sorry." and then was told "You cannot attend your graduation ceremony, sorry." If my calls would've been returned for the two months I tried contacting Kevin, none of this would have been an issue. If my background check was scheduled right the first time, that would have been done in advance. If they would've told me I needed a TB test, I would've done that ahead of time. This was just a huge mess and I definitely regret attending UMA at this point. I will not be returning and I would not recommend anyone coming here if they don't plan on doing pretty much everything, things they should not be responsible for, on their own. I wasted money on a cap and gown I was told to order. I wasted time trying to run around and find a site on my way. I wasted time trying to contact everyone I could possibly think of to get things in order and done so I could post time, get back into extern, walk, and finish extern just for it to be ignored, shot down, or not done at all.

( Jamila Menzie) I am currently a student at UMA. I've been in class sence December 7 and I've been a 4.0 student the whole time. I have not had any problems with the staff at all. My advisor and the financial aid department have been very helpful whenever I speak to either one they always congratulate me on maintaining a 4.0 the entire time. I have recommended several people to the school. And actually someone recommended me. I have 4 classes left before I graduate and I am so excited. I am very sorry to hear about all of these people were unhappy with the school. I love the school and I will keep recommending people.

Stop! I want to make you aware before you fill out your FASFA's for financial aid. UMA will make you go back 2 years for information from the IRS to complete your FASFA. If you made too much money at that time you will not be eligible for the Pell Grant. I tried to enroll to get my Associates in Billing and Coding. I thought doing this would give me more opportunities in finding work. I'm currently unemployed at the moment. But 2 years ago my IRS information stated that I was making too much money. Why are they going back 2 years for financial information???? This does not make sense! Anyhow, when I tried to withdrawal, I had to send endless emails, call many different departments, only to find out that packages that they kept sending me that I would be financially responsible for. I was then instructed to return the packages back to them. There was no return labels inside the packages, therefore I had to return them on my dime! What a racket!?!

This school lies about what they will help you with when you sign up for classes they told me that they would help me get a job and they would get me certified to be a medical assistant and they didn't no such thing on top of that I ended up having to switch to different teachers several times because they couldn't keep staff and due to that i had to spend a longer time learning because with every new teacher they gave we practically started over ... They also don't prepare you well enough for the actual field ! I am now fight them to get my loans forgiven for false advertisement .... My lawyer has even said this school has been a nightmare !

When I started this program, I had no job and already had two degrees. I thought this was going to be like all the other colleges that say they will help you, but yet they don t, and at the end of your program you still have no job. That is not how it worked here at UMA. I started working with the staff on finding a job, I went to interviews and then Career Services called saying I was hired at a good company, making good money. To the staff of UMA, thank you!

Never in my life have I experienced so many emails...

Never in my life have I experienced so many emails from one institution! I am getting emails on a daily basis that I am failing a class when I am only 3 weeks in to the class. Emails about how can they help me. Whenever I call to the school, several of the employees that answer the phone didnt even act like they were happy that they are there.
I recently contacted Financial Aid and the hold time was long. That wasn't the issue. The issue is when I was purposely hung up on! I called back and got on the line with a gentleman (I will not display his name) As he was pulling up my information, I can hear in the background another gentleman was trying to leave with another coworker for a break and I guess the supervisor was explaining that he couldn't go because there noone to take the calls. He was actually getting an attitude with them. The guy couldn't place me on hold, couldn't let them know they were being loud, nothing! As we were talking the phone hung up again. I cannot confirm if it was my phone or his, but there was not a phone call back to finish my call.
This will be the last time I will seek education from them. I will not refer them to any friends and family. If I had bad experiences with them, what makes you think I am going to subject them to it too???

I can't believe that I'm doing this but I am giving UMA a second chance . It completely destroyed me and made me feel like I waisted alot of time after I was told that I could not complete my externship and that I would be failing the entire course. I was enrolled in the expanded functions dental assistant program I completed every class up untill externship came along .I thought externship was somthing that I could show up to on my own time .I was told that I had missed my extern leader comming to review me at the site to two times and because of this I would have to start the course completely over. I was upset because no one ever gave me a schedule or warned me ahead of time about which day she would be comming .But I am here today because I chose a different path . The campus in my area shut down a few months later and now I must travel to the Clearwater location so I decided to do online billing and coding . My sister is a graduate of UMA she finished pharmacy technician program in 2015 and she started off making 12$ an hour but is now currently working for a call center at 16$ hourly .I have faith in this school because I have seen real results but you have to do everything they tell you or you will get screwed.

I was removed from the program for God know what reason... After reading recent reviews, I'm glad. Would not recommend the program to my sister's husband's dog. Very rude staff, even Chat Associates.

My experience at Ultimate Medical Academy was amazing. They we're very nice and caring to me and other students. The staff and administration helped me and answered all my question the best they could. They helped broaden my path in the medical field, though this is a first for me, they really helped me understand what I'll be doing.

This school did me so wrong I was on a leave of absence because I had a heart procedure i was having done. I had it one class to complete when I came back. They told me i had 7 days from the date I come back to log in an get attendance caught up. I was in the hospital until the 24th of December which was the 7th day they told me since they were going on an attendance freeze because of the holiday I needed to log in on the 23rd which would have made the 6th not the 7th day so they dropped me mind you I only had one class to finish and I was having a heart procedure done. I was told I couldn't re enter because my with draw counted as a fail when I took my leave of absence I begged and begged for them to let me re enter to finish my last class and they wouldn't do not believe the hype about this school they are terrible and they just proved all they want is money because the next day they called me telling me how much I owe them
What's the point of not letting me finish my last class when your going to charge me regardless. Horrible fake people. I would never recommend these lames.

Worst college ever. Maintained 4.0 through entire course. Was told by student advisor when I had a family emergency to deal with at the end of the course that I had enough credit to graduate. Lie. And nobody even checked with her, or she lied so I never received my certificate of completion. Completed the whole course except the last week. And then they had the nerve to keep calling me to see when I was coming back! After several phone calls and e mails that were enough to describe as harassment for over a year they have FINALLY got the message to not EVER contact me again.
