I decide one morning I was going to go online and see about going back to school UMA was the 3rd website I had checked out that sounded interesting but I wanted to know more. As soon as I hit the request more information, and I'm not kidding when I say 30 minutes later, I am on the phone, starting the process to be enrolled. I believe that this is the school that was meant for me to go to and I am so very, very grateful to be able to call myself a soon to be student. (1st class starts on July 20th). My student adviser, Jordyn, is amazing. All of the people I have talked to so far have been friendly. I was ahead of the game getting all of my documents signed so they were super excited about that. I believe Ruby said They needed more students like me. So if you are wanting to go to school online and just haven't done so yet or don't know if its something you can do REQUEST INFORMATION. You are gonna be so happy you did. And if you are like me you will be enrolled before the end of your first call. Thanks Ultimate Medical Academy!

Don t attend when I was on the phone I heard them clapping and saying yeah I was like what s that noise she say every time somebody enroll they celebrate RED FLAG. It s a call center. Profit school they talk you into enrolling which I did it sounded good at first but when it s to good to be true believe it. Very persuasive and when you ask questions they beat around the bush or change your question telling you to start school now i told that lady 1 week from now was to early for me to start she told me now or never... I attended a profit school before and was left with debt so this time I m more careful on which school I choose. I knew it was BS when they offered pharmacy technician online. Almost got me out of 28,000 I ll pass

The school experience is pretty okay, and the teachers are very understanding, but I hate how much debt they put you in. I made a mistake and thought financial aid would pay for most of it, but it doesn't even put a dent in it. And, you end up a little more than $6,000 in debt! I'm in so much debt that I'm not sure that I'm even gonna be able to dig myself out of it. Had I known that financial aid wouldn't pay for most of my school tuition I wouldn't even enrolled in this school. They don't explain the financial part of it too well. When they explain it to you it's so confusing that you don't really understand it, and now I'm in debt that I didn't want or need. I'm struggling so bad right now, and really didn't need this. If they had explained the courses needed to take I doubt I would have taken it. They switch classes every 5 weeks, I hate the discussions and how you need to do one or two every week (depending on the course), and how you need to take a test every week. I have been in this school since April for Medical Administrative Assistant, and don't feel like I really learned anything, nothing is fully explained to you and none of the material seems to help, they try to push you into the work force 4 months before school is over, and I thought I was earning my degree, and would be certified but I found out I am only getting my diploma. Also, someone calls you 4 months before school is even over to get you to do a 45 minute mock interview. Why are they calling 4 months before school is even over? And, they call so early, it's ridiculous. Now, I'm scared that my debt is going to get even worse, and I'm never gonna do any better. I had high hopes for this year, and now I'm even more afraid than ever. I hate this school and wish I never did it.

**scam** do not attend this school.. I love the fact they lie.. they told me my financial aid cover the cost of school .. next thing I know I m owing a school $28,000 to a school that still hasn t sent me a diploma.. (still waiting 7 waiting) ..

I love going to Ultimate Medical Academy they have taught me so much about myself and the teachers are great. My advisor Mrs. Rogers is the best she was there for anything that I needed to help me get my diploma and I hope she will be my advisor during the time I will be getting my Associates Degree because with out her I would not be where I am today. So I just want to say thank you Mrs. Rogers.

I attend uma currently and I would not recommend this school to anyone until they improve their financial aid staff and their career specialist staff. As far as the classes go, there are some great instructors and you do learn alot. What ruined this experience is the constant harassment and disrespectful emails this year and last year from the career specialists. I have now conducted my own search and have a plan set in order, I dont need or want their help. The second issue the financial aid staff. They are very misleading and when its time to request your money left over there is always a problem. Either they try and talk you out of it and you can end up like me I called this morning and they made a mistake and never told me that its going to be some additional weeks before its even sent via mail. Overall I regret continuing my education with uma. They are so misleading and disrespectful you end up not even knowing what you have gotten yourself into. I still have an email from their employee where she told me i only want to go to school for money. Even tho last year before i got married i payed out of pocket for my education.

The first conversation I had with an admission rep was ok. I completed my financial aid but because I didn't talk with them about it was an issue and they blocked my account. I feel like if you have been a student before and know how to do a fafsa you do not need to have an admission rep walk you through the process like you are not capable of completing an application yourself. The second rep that I spoke with started to ask me all these questions all over again. I'm like, if you are in my file you see my answers from last week. I did everything I was suppose to do but talk to them so they can talk to me like I'm 2 to walk me through some pages. If they feel like people can't fill out a simple form and finance aid form they should not be in college. I do not recommend this academy to anyone that has a degree and have sense. This is for someone that does not understand life. This was the simplest process but they make the admission and initial interview process more than what it should be. The process takes two hours. Unnecessary. So please whoever is reading this find a different academy, college, university to go and get your degree from. Maybe once they get a process going for literate individuals and not illiterate individuals, it would be ok. I haven't started the school, but I'm glad that it happen before I got started.

I graduated in 2018 or 2019 in medical billing and coding I then decided to take the cca exam and was told that my school wasn t accepted had to find a new school that is accepted and take the course all over again many of the subjects giving is not what I learn in ultimate I felt like I wasn t getting the right information and now that I am I feel bad because I should of did more research before I went to this school

The worst online experience I have ever gone through. They call NONSTOP. If you happen to miss the call and are unable to return their call right away they kick you out. The staff are completely horrible and have no communication with each other so they are constantly asking the same questions over and over. When asked to speak to someone that could possibly have more "access" they act as if you are bothering them, such as "How dare you get transferred to me". The only positive part is when you get your first initial call, after that they are EXTREMELY rude and pushy. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I currently just enrolled in UMA for the Medical Billing and Coding. I'm very excited and this school seems to be so helpful and are there to answer any questions you have. I love my Advisor Cierra Pope. She's amazing and makes me feel so welcomed here. I also love how the program is affordable unlike half the other schools that are over 30,000 dollars.
Can't wait to start with you guys and see where my life will end up after!

hello my name is catrina and im exicted to start my online classes at uma I have been reading a lot of reviews sum bad experiences and sum have succeeded in there career .I am working with mrs.brooks she is a sweet heart she has helped me threw all my questions and im anxious to start my carrer in medical administration.i do have one question about the financial aid I didn't get to speak with anyone regarding my question but I would like to no if you take out a loan to pay for classes etc are u able to take another out for personal needs if so can you please tell me how this would be disbursed or do you you only let you take out enough for your classes thank u sep8 2015 the start of my career.

I COULDN'T EVEN GET PASSED MY 3RD WEEK BECAUSE OF THEM CANCELLING MY ENROLLMENT DUE TO STUDENT FINANCE ! I COMMUNICATE WITH THEM EVERYDAY AND THEY NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT A DEADLINE. EVEN WHEN I TURN EVERYTHING IN THE NEXT DAY YOU WILL BE DROPPED! THEY'RE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND MY WORST ENEMY TO TRY AND GET A DEGREE WITH UMA ONLINE LEARNING ! I WILL BE CONTACTING THE HEAD OF THE SCHOOL AND REPORT EVERY STAFF NAME THAT I HAVE!

Terrible customer service. The worst I have ever experienced in my life. The representatives were disrespectful and talked down to me, often as if I am a little child.
They seemed to not actually care about me or my personal needs

I have been told over and over again that my post 9/11 gi bill is being processed every different representative I speak with tells me a different date or something new ! Why is it so hard it's like the school does not want to get payed like they want to just give me free books and classes. I have been hung up on because a rep didn't know how to answer my questions and I as well should have a credit on my account due to me as well receiving the pell Grant that I have yet to get any information about ! I've been in class for almost 3 weeks and the fact that I keep being lied to after the last rep stated that it would for sure be taken care of this time is just ridiculous. I get continues email and calls but yet never anything about my questions or concerns or even a call back from anybody letting me know things have been taken care of. At first I though uma would be an amazing school but I definitely changed my mind quick !

I'm having a positive experience with UMA. The instructor and advisors are very supportive, patient and willing to help. I will admit the phone calls are annoying at times but I did reach out to them and made a commitment so I appreciate their efforts in making sure Im on track!

Where do I begin? complete and utter fools. No one knows what they are doing. I get phone calls calls from different people. One tells you one thing & then another thing. They seem like they care and I regret ever finding this place. Terrible!!!

The reason I choose UMA to further my education was, When I was a little girl my grandmother passed away and I didn't know why, So for many years I the thought was stuck in my heart to understand the medical field, So once I received my diploma there was no stopping me from conquering my heart desire to provide the best care that I could possibly give to people with questions like I had. And I'll tell you all it feels great to be filled with knowledge. UMA is my first and only college that I'll attend, the team here is very supportive I love all of them. I would like to thank you all for being here for me helping me to achieve my heart desire. <3 <3 <3 <3

Pushed for me to get started without giving any actual information about the school, programs, or cost. Just kept saying what would be keeping me from starting in 2 weeks, and why cant I commit. I got pushed around to multiple different people after which I was told I was getting general college resources and eventually I just got transferred to the Ultimate Medical Academy. Shady practices into a forced situation, and then the audacity to be so incredibly rude during every step of the process. Yes, I could of just hung up at anytime, but they just kept pushing that the next person would give more information, and I genuinely wanted to hear them out. But my patience wore then when I got 8 phone calls throughout the rest of the day all from different numbers all calling from the Ultimate Medical Academy basically starting the process over again. This is a very clear bait and switch operation praying on those who don't know any better. Never actually got the information, nor do I want it now, they just want money but don't want to give their time.

I chose this school because they promised life time career services. What a joke. I graduated in April of 2013. Since graduation I have been passed between about a half a dozen career services advisors. I obtained one job that lasted a week with their assistance. I have gone months on end without any contact from my advisor. Once they have your money they don't give a rat's ass about you.

My name is Rebecca, I graduated in 2018 with my degree in MAA. I gave this school 5 stars due to me wanting to go to school. I had 2 kids, a bad marriage and at first looked at it like a hobby. I was just looking for something new to do with my time; I held a high gpa and received a laptop due to my grades. I loved that I was able to take a couple hours while my kids napped and do my hobby when I wanted. I did get a couple calls throughout the week to check up on me, I had one student advisor that I connected with and she helped me stay on track and realize that it s NOT just a hobby but a life changer and it hit me that she was right. I had amazing support throughout the 18 months of schooling, I also went through a divorce and I had to move around a lot and went through a bad custody battle and I was still getting amazing support through it all! I was able to get extensions on my work when needed and they worked with me as well as my teachers. They helped me get a job and even offered to pay for a taxi or Uber driver when I didn t have a car due to my ex taking the only vehicle and not allowed to work while with him. They are amazing and helped me get on my feet with the large amount of motivation and helping me be determined to finish school and get to the job. I at first didn t think of the seriousness of school but it was an eye opener when I was able to hold a 4.0 gpa and have my own schedule to complete the tasks needed. I recommend this school to all! They are amazing and I have my degree and 2 years after graduating I am on my feet and I am working and utilizing my degree at a great hospital and I am so glad to have had the support offered like I did or else I would have quit my hobby and wouldn t be where I am!

The only reason i gave two stars is because when i attended uma, i had a cool student advisor, and i learned a few new things. HOWEVER, I am disgusted because 1. I feel my "resumes" THEY typed up are based on lies. What is put on resumes is what the employer expects of YOU! 2. The "career service" staff has 0% empathy and will hound THEE HELL out of you! Afterall, you are the one who is job searching. They act as though it's an urgent deadline for you to apply for the "jobs they find for you." Every job i have had, i found ON MY OWN! 3. I DO NOT like the idea of "career services" needing to know your every move and detail pertaining to applying for "the jobs they find for you."
I told a staff member i am going through some personal issues plus i am currently in school and busy. I felt as if i was talking to the wall! They put demands on you to apply and call "they jobs they find for you."
I understand if they are working on commission and have to meet certain quotas, but YOU CAN'T MAKE NOBODY HIRE YOU! PERIOD! PLUS, GETTING A JOB IS A CHOICE! I told a staff member that i am going to wait until i return home to GA, then look for another job, and wait until i am done with obtaining my Bachelor's at the school i currently attend, then i will seek employment in the MEDICAL field. She totally ignored my request. She made demands for me to call and set up a phone interview with one of "the jobs she found for me."
So, if she ignored my wishes, guess what?? Two can play catch! The "interview prep" only makes you more nervous because they want you to lie and be perfect. Newsflash: they will find out the truth, and NOBODY'S PERFECT!
I was really irate when i went to an interview and the manager told me to return the following week for training, then the "career service staff member" called the manager basically to compare notes and told me that the manager said no such thing! I am not a kid, nor am i a dam criminal. Their being pushy and being "the middle man", i can definitely do without! Keep your "career service bs." I'm good. Give me all the feed back you want to give me, i meant what i said. PERIOD.

I absolutely love UMA. I am taking my first class at the moment and I am enjoying it very much. It is very flexible and there is always the staff at UMA ready and willing to help their students.

The most unprofessional staff I've ever encountered! From the hiring process to the false promises of success to their prospects (students). They need to get better leadership in the way of management and adjust their accreditation credentials. DON'T DO IT FOLKS YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!

Excellent sales team. Computer benefit seems awesome! Not too bad tuition for in state residents. But if you want to save money and time through transferring credits, this college may not be for you. I got vague answers to my questions in regards to transferring credit. They also had my classes scheduled before I knew if any of my credits transferred. Takes seven days to "know if." Even concerning CLEP. Their contracts are tricky. If you are a new student, PERFECT! You should finish! If you have credits you worked hard on and dont want to waste them? Use caution! DO NOT ENROLL till you get your answers!!! I might have chickened out before I knew, but once admitted if you have credits, they seem to do everything they can to not give you direct answers in order to get the most money out of you as they can. This is speculation. All I know? 52 credits took a lot of money to obtain, and I do not want to waste them if I do not have to!

I am moving into my 6th month at UMA and I absolutely love it so far. All the negative reviews and issues people are having, not sure how or why, but my enrollment, financial aid process and classes have been great. If I have any issues that cause problems with my school work, they've worked with me so that I keep my grades and course work up. Just received my Dean's list certificate in the mail for my second semester loving UMA!

I'm currently enrolled in the MAA degree. I love it . They keep in touch to make sure everything is going good throughout the course. They explain everything in full details especially with the financial aid and loan situations. I'm going to continue my education with them after I finish this degree.

I'm sorry this school is a big rip off. I don't understand why they haven't been shut them down like Heald, Everest, and Corinthians. You don't see none of your financial Aid nor your Student Loan monies. I completed my first five weeks, got a computer from the the school that only cost $450 and they then tell me I want be able to get no of the financial assistance I applied for and at the end of the day I will end up having to paying a debt back that I didn't have any access too. They have control of all the money that you get from FASA and your Student Loan. Be very careful before you enroll in this school. I don't understand how you go to a college and you don't have access to the money the government is giving you to go to school. Everything that glitter ain't gold. So be very cautious when applying for this school. That's a bunch of bull. Even when you go to school at a Community College you have access to your monies. Your check comes in your name and you can buy your own books and take care what ever expenses you have. I got 5 books, 1 notebook, 1 computer, two pens, and a backpack from you'll. I wish I would of did my research way more better before I sign up to this rip off school.

Uma is horrible. Repetitive phone calls... I graduated and they said they would help find a Job but all the jobs they find are bogus.... One job they found didn't want to pay the uma students... They lie to u and come up with bogus ass stories... They laugh at u over the phone... Im so damn disgusted I wish I never attended this school!

This school is great when it comes to helping the students with there class work and learning, but financial aide part is horrible!!!!
They called me 5-10 times a day hounding me telling me I couldn t do school there unless I got it done now!
Screw that. I will be looking for a new college! ASAP

I have been attending this school online for about 6 months and I love it. In the beginning I would get annoyed with the phone calls, but about month 2 I was greatful. I felt like I had an amazing support team behind me. I love the positive attitudes of the employees, they sound like they honestly care. The advisers do not sound fake or judgmental. I have never attended a school that had professors that were so passionate about their jobs. I'm currently employed at a hospital, the lady I trained just graduated from UMA. Once I found this out I was overly excited and motivated. Although she is currently employed at a hospital her advisers found out the amount she was making researched other hospitals in our area and had jobs lined up if she wanted to review them. I would recommend this school to anyone. Lol I would love to work there.

I just have started attending Ultimate Medical Academy online. I love it so far. It is wonderful to get a call from your advisors to see how I am doing, or to answer questions. Everyone is so welcoming when I call. Even though I don't attend there right in Florida, it is an awesome experience so far..

I really like UMA! Everyone I have talked to and all the instructors I've had have been great! This is my first time doing online classes and so far I've enjoyed it! I can do my work at my pace, on my time and still do what I need to take care of my kids. Although I don't remember asking for information about UMA, I'm glad they called and I started classes. I will gradate Dec. 6 with my MAA diploma, and all I can can are positive things! They even sent me a Dean's List certificate for me making straight A's my first quarter!

I transferred from Capella and I absolutely love UMA. Most of the bad reviews on here doesn't make any sense seriously like the stuff you are complaining bout is sad. great school so far.

Over priced!! I owe too much money this school and didn't even get an associates degree. No way a coding certificate should cost 15 grand ! The new school I'm at now is for my associates degree and wont even cost me 5 grand. I wish I would've been smarter and looked elsewhere before applying to UMA that's really my only disappointment with this place besides the fact that someone calls me every week trying to get me to go back. Please take me off your calling list !

My financial aide did not cover the $12,000 they wanted so I unenrolled with one of the hundreds off people I spoke to so I thought, then lovia the lady who was helping me. Called and asked what happened and I told her she was like well what bout a loan,I told her that from the beginning I had mentioned to her I didnt not want a loan so then a few hours later I get a call from another guy saying the same thing.. and I told him the same thing .. he then proceeds to tell me to log in on Monday I told him no because I was not going to get a loan.. I think.they get a commission if you get a loan, I have never been so harrassed in my life before.. stay away people .. they are a bunch of bullies and rude if you want to.unenroll...

This school WILL NOT stop contacting my office about employment. I sure hope this isn't a reputation of how the school is ran. I have asked several employees here not to contact our office again and it seems like they call more. It's interrupting and not professional at all. You are actually hurting your students. It's harassing and I the owner of this school could do something about this.

I have read some of the other reviews but this school was my strenght why I say that because I was going throught so much I can't remember did I get contacted by the school or did I contact the school but one thing I know UMA was a staff is the reason I begin on a postive note and finish on a positive note

I haven't finished my financial things or started any classes...Reading the reviews.I am thinking that maybe this isn't the school for me...I don't need a bunch of debt for nothing...

Ok with everyone on here talking about the school should help you find a jobs that not true. The school helps put your resume out there but to never to find a job and get hired. I landed my job for what I m going to school for now and I m still in school only took 4 classes already so I feel like this is a waste you DO NOT always need a DEGREE but hey teach it s own.

And about the financial aid part is true they said my financial aid picked up everything and out of no where I owe the school now hmmmm mind blowing.

People are graduating and still attending this school with felonies drug charges and more. I am very upset and then they tell me i can not appeal it there is no paper work to do so i have been discriminated against i am very sure of.

I graduate Aug 2nd with My Health Care Management Degree , then walk the stage September 10th. UMA was there the whole way. They are very helpful and resourceful if you utilize their services. They encourage responsible borrowing and provide everything you need as far as class materials. The FASFA paperwork through UMA shows you everything that they do with the Disbursement and use it to cover what you NEED to help reduce debt and it states that. It also states that the funds are available to you if proper documentation is filled out. They just do it differently to help the students. Same resources available, and additional borrowing is a resource that comes with responsibility .

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Every indeed job ad from UMA is a lie! They won't pay $20 an hour, and advertise for Clearwater but in reality only have openings in the slimy streets in Tampa.

As a school this is one of the worst, most students pay $10-30k to only find 'entry level' positions paying nearly minimum wage if you're lucky upwards of $15 an hour which pales to the fact you're in debt for $30k.

AVOID THIS PLACE! The only people benefiting is the school taking your money and taking your life.

The "5 Star Reviews" are actually made by employees of UMA. Check out the names and avatar photos... You'll find they are admission reps, 'career advisors', etc. Disgusting! IF YOU READ THIS AND ALL OTHER REVIEWS AND STILL ATTEND UMA, YOU DESERVE THE $30,000 IN DEBT AND A USELESS PIECE OF PAPER FROM A NON ACCREDITED BUSINESS.

My wife is Going Through Hell there if they dont get so many students enrolled they fire them, they treat their employees like crap, thats why the call non stop, they first told her numbers dont matter as long as she trys, the next week l'intimidation mental verbal abuse starts, so sad and @ the owner please try and say it aint true i will have 15 more people say your wrong, my wife is one month pregnant she doesn't need this abuse in the stress

Very friendly staff and I most enjoyed my visit over there. If you're thinking of a career as an assistant starting out, this seems like the perfect place to be. Just be wary of the costs of the programs, other than that everyone Is most willing to help you succeed within the programs

I made the mistake of going to an online site asking for information on several schools. I started to put in my info for information on uma but backed out before entering all of my info and they called me anyway. They called 5 times within an hour. I didn t answer because I was getting ready to go somewhere. They used a fake number to look like the call was local.
I finally answered that evening and was asked a lot of personal and insignificant questions. They had me get online into their site and walked thru a bunch more questions and at the end of several pages they tried to slip in getting me enrolled. (All the while I was in the phone there was LOTS of background noises and yelling every once in awhile-they must ve had takers) I told the guy I wasn t going to enroll because I was looking at other schools. He said you ll have to go through this all over again if you sign up. I said I wasn t interested in signing up. Since then, yesterday, I ve gotten another call wanting me to do the same thing and I ve gotten a text also. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS SCHOOL. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND JUST OUT TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF UNSUSPECTING KIDS

I use to be a student about three time they messed me over and.. Like i see negative reviews about this school same problems I have and I don't like what if we did this to your we are trying to get an education to better our life and use don"t matter it better at when we apply to this we trust in all staff. Frist I have had Frist good time in this then when my Fafsa ran out they did tell when I need to apply again they didn't communicate with at all the financial aide or advire and stuff so I am trying to get back into this school but is it the good chosse.

My fiance went there and they never gave her the rest of financial aide all she got out of it was a computer and that was it

I loved it until I graduated and connected with an career advisor, long story short I found a career on my own but it was like the advisor was destined to take my part in what I did, as almost as if she didn't find something for me herself and didn't accomplish it then she won't get paid or something, it was like a very pushy situation. so the job I found she asked me what there number was which I really didn't wanna give it to her but I did, and they were wondering why she kept calling them and at the end of the day I didn't have it anymore. I was really sad and depressed after and it lasted for awhile Cuz I was actually feeling good that I did it on my own but I guess not, i even saw an ad that they were hiring and asked her about that and talked me out of that, so now I'm stuck doing the same thing I was doing before but I won't give up just won't be going there again.

This place is a nightmare. I was enrolled with them and needed some paper work to come in so i could finish my fasa to start on the 21. I told them the paper work would be in at 5 to 10 day and I would call them when it was in, being that its coming from the irs they take there sweet time getting things out. Instead of them waiting to hear from me I got 5 to 6 calls a day from them asking me the same thing over and over and they were all from the same department so needless to say I unrolled from them. I don't appreciate being hounded every day.

I loved the hands on training and the one on one that the staff and instructors enjoyed giving. It helped a lot! I am now a successful Medical assistant using all the skills I acquired from UMA. THANKS UMA!!!

My fiance joined this school got two Pell grants for the online classes for medical administrative assistant.Well first thing that was a lie was shed have a guarantee job lie number 1 2 years later nothing.second thing was told it would be 11,000 dollars for this 10 month course so she got a Pell Grant for a little over 5000 a student loan for the remainder well here's lie num 2 supposibly during this 10 month course theirs 2 semester at 11000 per semester well we get a bill for 9000 dollars in student loans which is now 11000 dollars of course I'm in the process of getting the right lawyer to either sue for misleading information ECT the I find out the accreditation is only good for Tampa Florida not to much help here in nc.please don't trust this school will keep posted on the lawyer findings.

Hello, my experience with UMA has been pretty cool. This was my first experience doing a whole course online and not traditional style. UMA gave me all the tools I needed to succeed and they also stay in close touch with me by calling, or emailing me to make sure things were going as planned. I'm now a graduate and those months flew by and now I'm returning to finish up my Associates in the field Medical Administration... So, if you work hard, you can eventually play hard. Thanks UMA

Honestly it's crazy, like things obviously pop up in people's lives and they are just the pushiest group of people ever it literally made me so uncomfortable feeling like Billy and them were trying to use me and put me into something I never wanted to do. Read reviews after the fact and wish I had never agreed to this program. They call like 20 times a day and are just sooooo demeaning if you mention going a different route. Had to fight to get my major changed to something I actually wanted to do all because it costed less, and was STILL made to wait two days to "think about it" to change it. I felt so rushed into it because God forbid you question them about worries you have. You definitely won't get any straight answers. What a joke! Definitely go to a real school, calling ivy tech now.

I would suggest getting any job you can with CVS Pharmacy because after 3 months of employment they will pay for your schooling and training and all you have to pay is $100 for the state exam.

This school is unprofessional I had to argue with them, so they can withdraw me from the school. I left so many messages on my advisor line because they kept sending me on a wild goose chase about my grant. All they do is lie and say I m withdrawn but the whole time I m still enrolled in. Don t go to this school all they do is lie and want your information. FRAUD

I currently attend UMA online and I just want to say I graduate in 3 months February 28th, 2016 to be exact and I made the deans list while attending so far and they said they are going to help me find a great job afterwards and I cant wait! yes I will be in debt just like 80% percent of the world but I know UMA will help me in finding my career. Most unprofessional advisors I have ever dealt with in my whole college experience. I never had to argue and come out of my character for any school officials or advisors until attending this school.

They are quick to get you enrolled....because they are all about the $$$. Their courses may be comparably priced with other online schools, but their courses are severely lacking (though I can only speak for medical billing and coding). The classes are outdated, the instructions don't match assignments, and some of the information is just plain WRONG. They really don't care if you can even type a complete sentence for the discussions - as long as you do your posts you get credit (you have to do your initial post and respond to at least two other students).
They won't give you transfer credits for the general education courses unless the course description matches theirs by 80%....even if you took a more complicated class. I am about to get my "diploma" but have no knowledge of the upcoming (next month) ICD-10 because all they taught was when it is to be implemented.

Great classes and teachers but I wished that the diploma program that I graduated from with honors would have included some clinical side to the MAA program and my diploma program was more pricey than I originally thought it was going to be. Anyway just hoping to get employment soon its been 6 months and not one interview, got to pay down my loan!!..

I love UMA because they do exactly as they promise. I read all the complaints about it and honeatly I have to say you only get iut what you put in Utilizing your sources is the key to success. As far as them not caring thats a lie they do care about their students when their students care about themselves. Why haven't they been shut down because they are an actual college that offers online courses,they have an awesome track record and they have plenty of students enrolling weekly. And for all of those people who were complaing maybe if you put more effort into getting yourself together you wouldn't be so mad. I havent had one bad experience with UMA. Even when I was down and out UMA was there for me and my family, they were understanding, and caring. I dont know maybe they have favorites. Lol I love it and I can not wait to see what the world and my career has to offer next year when I graduate. I have already start looking into jobs for my field. I honestly do not even know where to begin .I started going to this school right after I had stop going to my community college so I can work due to many issues . I figured okay I can work and go to school at the same time. I knew nothing of this school prior to a call that I had received from a rep there . They made everything sound so wonderful over the phone and me loving school I said hey why not . I can work and go to school . Wellll I maintained a phenomenal gpa and I did so well . No one helped me find a job I had to go out myself and look which I don t mind . When someone did try I was already working and they asking if my job was hiring so they can recruit. I had a wonderful experience and everyone was great , however some information are not as well conveyed. I have a student loan that s ripping down my credit. I m very upset at the fact that is happening to me. I had nooo idea of this . The credits I ve obtained are completely USELESS. I ve had interviews where they said my degree is not really a degree. I m so destroyed with this school and how they abuse people s financials and waste their time .

I loved my experience at UMA! Although after reading the reviews I'm not fully understanding something... My husband has been looking into going back and getting his high school diploma/ged and a few months ago I was informed UMA had a program for that but now I'm getting told they don't. Can I get answers over that please?

Update- Please all who are considering going here read my review before you make the same mistake I did! I'm $12,000 in student loan debt and they claim I am not even in their system!! The ONLY thing they care about is getting PAID. Please if you trying to better yourselves DO YOUR RESEARCH. Do not make the same mistake I did!!

This place is an absolute joke. I attended here a few years ago trying to get a career in the medical field and the only thing I got was $12,000 in student loan debt. Thanks UMA-but hey atleast you all got paid! That's the ONLY thing this place cares about. Don't do it. Once you get past the first "wheel" you're screwed because you can either drop out and still have $10,000 in student loans or graduate with a diploma that is basically a joke to employers. Then the student loans are even more expensive and you'll only be making 20,000 dollars a year. If the programs cost is more then the salary you'll be receiving don't do it. They will rush you to a decision in the beginning and push you to sign up for the most expensive program. The first three classes are very hands on and so rushed that you won't have time to even think about dropping out before it's too late. After that the classes are bullshit and a waste of time. Half the students can't even take blood pressure, read, write or speak English and they are passing. The staff was smuggling papers and material out when they were being audited, that's when I dropped out. None of the students information or staffs information was correctly organized. Behind the show they put on its a wreck. Everyone is better off going to PTECH or an actual college. Goodluck.

I absolutely love this institution!!! The Career Services Department is totally awesome! They go above and beyond what their job requires. As a student and a graduate of UMA I had everything I needed. They offer tutoring for their students to make sure their learning experience is interesting and make them eager to learn. I graduated from the Medical Office and Billing Specialist, Diploma Program, Spring 2016 and now I am in the Associates Program. You could not ask for a better team, they are always in your corner helping you in every way and cheering when you have cheered out. They give you all the tools so you can see your dreams come true because your dream is their dream. Go UMA!

I would have to say that my experience at UMA has been AWESOME! I was pleasantly surprised! But just like an other online school, you get out of it what you put into it! I graduate in less than 2 weeks with a GPA of almost 4.0! I just started last week working in Medical Billing. Thank you UMA!

Severely disappointed with the lack of information given on programs, amount and job placement and help available after a $17,000 tuition only for a certification. Wouldn t suggest. Ahima.org will lead you to much better schools without being mislead. UMA not a school I would suggest.

UMA is a horrible workplace. I would know since I interviewed more than 4 times in the span of 2 years and never got hired. I have gone to multiple open houses and interviews and never got a job offer. The hiring managers do not demonstrate an equal employment opportunity. I feel that my chances of getting hired at UMA were low because I looked like a very professional, serious person. I feel most UMA employees felt threatened or had complex issues with me. I personally saw a young lady get rejected for employment even after letting them know she has a Masters Degree. Dont waste your time applying there. Im very dissappointed with myself for having wasted my time, money and interest at UMA.

Accused students of cheating when they didn't and have no way of.

Received my Medical Billing/Coding certificate online in March 2012. I did not receive any help from them in assisting me with jobs. The career counselor I had at the time was not helpful at all. I was told in the beginning that I would not have to pay out of pocket, but somehow I owe them money. I've been sitting on a certificate that's never been used, no intern/externship and the majority of medical facilities want seasoned workers. I honestly feel like all the work I put into this school was a total waste of my time, energy, dedication and discipline.

When I first attended this school in 2014 I was excited because at the end I was getting a diploma as a Medical Administrative Assistant and I was going to be able to get a job in the medical field. Nope wasn t the case!! I did my coursework and maintained a 4.0 throughout ( I was on the dean s list even). So when it was nearing graduation I had a lady contact me to do the mock interview it went good, I then had someone contact me so we can work on my professional looking resume ! So we did that the resume was sent to me and now I m submitting it to different employers. Now a career advisor contacts me which is setting me up on interviews needless to say they had nothing to do with medical assisting in fact she sent me to interview at a eye doctors office which I had learned nothing about and it was the worst interview EVER!!!! I go to the interview and the person doing the interview stated I informed Mrs. so and so that we wasn t hiring, but she was so adamant that I interview you so I just agreed because she kept calling us At which point he didn t know what to ask me or how to do a interview so I just got up and walked out. I called the school to inform them that I was being sent on deadend interviews and I never got anymore help from them. I sent my resume to a professional company to get feedback on it and was told it was not professionally done in fact it was poorly done and had many many errors and irrelevant things on it. Personally I m not one who knows how to do a professional resume so I m stuck with the junk they gave to me.
I apologize for this book I wrote but I needed to be heard/read.

Ive been going here for about a month now and did have a slight problem with being put in the wrong program but it was fixed the same day. They are very supportive. I would like to say to those people giving bad reviews simply because UMA isnt looking for a job for you 24/7 and people that are getting mad at no internships or externship offers, that is crazy. Uma is a college not a staffing agency and you should be finding your internships and externships yourself if they do not provide it. Do noy blame a college because they can't do all the work for you..

I took this course online while working and homeschooling my children, as a single mom. I went from working in restaurants and being paid minimum wage to being hired in the healthcare field. If you don't think you have time - you can finish your work at 2 am if you have to. I did most of my work from a cellphone - I also used the laptop they provided to me.

While pricey, my academic advisor was amazing, I only had one instructor that I had any complaints about, and I was able to get my Associates Degree in 16 short months. I landed a job in my field before I even graduated! I also still receive follow-up from UMA even though I graduated 4 years ago checking to see if I need assistance in finding work. 100% would recommend for anybody comfortable enough with online schooling!

This is the worst school I have ever seen in my whole life. My daughter attended an online class. She can not submit her assignments. When she submit assignments the Teacher are not able to open the assignment. She have taken five to six classes, and her financial aid has been paid. She has not received any of her money, and now they have received another payment and have not yet sent her any money. I am looking into getting and investigations started with this school. This type of practice is awful students are paying money to be educated and develop skills to go and be productive in the world and make a better living for.them and their families. Something needs to be done. Can someone say embezzlement.

I was a recent Graduate from Ultimate Medical Academy online. I am going to say. I am very please with the experience that I have had. The support, friendliness, and more was absolutely wonderful. I was called twice a week to make sure everything was going good, and to see if I needed anything. The staff stayed right beside me every step of the way. I WILL return back to Ultimate Medical Academy in the future.

This is mind blowing I really would like to know who'a in charge the head of everything. I am currently in school here and I've been trying to address certain issues about these reviews as well. No one has gave me a answer so it must be truth behind what over 300 plus reviews are saying. I need answers and so do everyone else. OVERALL I LIKE WHAT I AM LEARNING I JUST HOPE THEY GIVE ME THE RIGHT DEGREE, BECAUSE I SEEN A REVIEW ABOUT THAT AS WELL.

I see that I can no longer log into my blackboard because UMA doesn t except Local High school diplomas.. What does that even mean? It s sad that they couldn t tell me this from the start. UMA waited until Financal aid went through, waited until I took tests and assignments and was on my second week. This is something you tell people before making them go through the process. UMA also doesn t know when to quit calling you.
The reviews for this school are disgusting I should have read them before contacting you guys. What a f***ing disappointment.

I attended this school 2015-2016. I was under the impression that I would be doing billing and coding. When it came time to graduate I was told I would only receive a certificate for Medical Administrative Assistant. Two totally different things. I have contacted the school several times about this problem only to be laughed at or made fun of. Jokingly saying "well we can't just give you a certificate for that." I've been hung up on numerous times. Here we are 2018 and still nothing has been done. I still get hung up on or laughed at when I tell them my issue. I recently found out about a lawsuit against the school for fraud with student loans.

UPDATE: I ve contacted the school twice and talked to UMA Cares. You ll never believe it! NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! UMA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT GETTING YOUR MONEY!

I've been going to this school since February 2016. At the beginning things were okay. I maintained a 4.0 GPA till I came across several lazy instructors and hard to reach academic coaches. UMA doesn't take responsibility of their instructors, coaches etc. Every time I called for help I was placed on a list not once but several times. I've maintain over an 3.0 GPA the entire time. You would think they'd allowed me to do a grade dispute being that their team didn't do their job. At this point im over UMA, I wouldn't recommend it, only because you don't get any assistance. When someone do call back its always days later and some crappy excuse. I looked into other schools but because graduation is kind of close, and a lot of my credits won't transfer ; I'm just going to pass the few classes I have left and find a much better school soon after.
UPDATE: NO OTHER SCHOOLS WILL ACCEPT MY CREDITS I HAVE TO START OVER. THIS SCHOOL IS ALWAYS LOSING THERE ACCREDITATION. Had I Known they weren't accredited when I was attending this school I would have left.

I'm so glad I made the decision to go to UMA. The teachers are knowledgeable and the staff is terrific and supportive. I'm really getting what I need to start my medical assistant career on the right foot!

After requesting more info and speaking to an agent I told her I would call back when I've made a decision. The following day I recieved phone calls from the school at all hours of the day until 9:00 pm and on the weekend. I am not happy. That is incredibly invasive and disrespectful. Do not attend this school if they cannot resoect me over the damn phone.
