Very professional people, everything was perfect. I dis the Milford Track with then and it was a great experience. Very very very professional and nice people!! Such a great time with them!! Excellent!!! Whatever hike you want to do, Just do it with then!!!

Routeburn is terrific. Guides and lodges great. Very comfortable rooms with hot shower at the end of the day. Also the food is excellent with great variety at dinner.

Done the Somerset lookout trail. 13km walk through rain forest, pine forest & bush with a 6yo & 10yo.

The guides were knowledgeable and extremely well trained. The accommodation and food along the track was top notch. Most wonderful walk and such memories.

Such a professional outfit! A great organization, fabulous experience in stunning terrain. Our Grand Traverse 6 day walk was a gob-smacking holiday of a lifetime. Our wonderful guides, Lara, Tarn & Bek in conjunction with the behind the scenes management handled the extreme weather event superbly! The promises were all absolutely delivered. "If the Harris Saddle is closed, they will helicopter us to the next hut" and they did. "The meals & huts will be great" and they were. The training & management to support this have to be excellent. Lara, Tarn & Bek were always professional, knowledgeable but cool, calm, cheerful, ready to have fun & joke around. We were always kept informed with timely briefings. Top holiday. Thanks so much, guys!

Tom, Liv, Moon, Emily, Andrew & Misako were excellent guides, this was a fantastic hike, great food and although not cheap but yes it's very worth it. The tracks we hiked on were just amazing it really is quite impressive in such remote locations, far away from the world, no phone, no web for the whole trip and where in the world can you drink fresh mountain cold water direct from a stream. Everyone should do this hike. Is it new Zealand's best kept secret?

Great trip with very friendly helpful guides! The weather on the last day was horrendous but that was part of the experience.

Knowledgeable guides, excellent overnight facilities, the Routebourne scenery was majestic.

We absolutely loved our trip with Ultimate Hikes. The accommodations surpassed our expectations, the food was delicious, and the guides were top notch! We were able to experience the best of both worlds by hiking in such a beautiful place all day and then enjoying a lovely evening with great company and amenities. So much fun!!!

Professional and friendly guides; value for money and would highly recommend

We used them for the Milford Track so we could have the "glamping" experience - warm shower, hot tasty food (b-fast & dinner), wine and beer at the end of the day. The guides were all amazing and knowledgeable, the track was beautiful, the accommodations were nice at every lodge, the showers were hot, appetizers and food were very tasty. Everyone we met was just lovely. It was an amazing experience. We also opted to take the helicopter ride back instead of the bus, amazing views with a friendly pilot. ...and of course there was an abundance of sand flies....so don't forget the bug repellent!

They are a great outfit. Do a fabulous job on one of the worlds great walks. Highly recommend.

Ultimate hikes are a fantastic company. We had the most incredible experience on the Routeburn. There were spectacular views, enchanted forests and bird life and knowledgeable, relaxed, friendly, organised guides. We had delicious lunches and then at the end of each magnificent day a hot shower, wine and cheese and then 3 course dinner. The laundry facilities meant we had clean fresh clothes every day, and needed only really light packs. They worked so hard to get us on the track after floods and slips, so sad now to see the pandemic has shut them down again. It s fantastic companies like this we can t let disasters sink - I m booking another hike with them next year when this all blows over!

They did their best when we stucked in Milford track in Feb.2 2020. Also they refunded full amount after we had managed to escape even though they were not responsible for anything!!! I and my friends will visit again Milford track!!!

Fabulous attention to detail and making a tough walk enjoyable

Walking the Milford Track with Ultimate Hikes was awesome. The track was more challenging than expected because of the rocky surface. Wear Gore-tex.

My brother in law and I just completed the Milford Track and last year completed the Routeburn track with Ultimate Hikes. The beauty of the New Zealand Fiordland is amazing and I highly recommend anyone who can, sees it. The beauty of these places such as it is will leave you with a permanent and positive mark on your soul. Ultimate hikes were great, in an area where rainfall is measured in metres a hot shower, meal and warm bed make all the difference. The staff have always been great and the other hikers of our group were good fun.

We did the Milford track and the knowledge and level of service the guides and the staff at each lodge provided was better than any of us had hoped for. We are already considering what to rebook with them for next year.

Just finished the Milford Track with Ultimate Hikes and it was totally AMAZING. 5 stars for everything - such an incredible hike and landscape, the wonderful enthusiastic caring guides and staff, delicious food, beautiful comfortable accommodation with stunning views...the list goes on and on! I would highly recommend doing the Milford Track with Ultimate Hikes. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back now to do the Routeburn Track!

Is Ultimate Hikes is operating? The Ultimate Hikes 1800 number is not been answered and the phone messages left are not been returned. My friend has also sent an email that has not been answered either. Wondering what's going on?

Thoroughly enjoyed our Milford Track hike with ultimate hikes. If you enjoy multi-day trips but don t feel a need to slum it unnecessarily, then it s without a doubt worth paying for the Ultimate Hike version! Wonderful lodges, drying rooms, bar and great food, definitely the way to do the Milford track in style!

The Great Walks are multi-day (2 to 6 days) walking tours that run through New Zealand's most beautiful national parks. The great thing about these nine routes is that the hiking trails are well maintained, the information provision excellent. The routes are divided into stages / days and you can spend the night in cabins on the route (for a fee, which can, for example, book Ultimate Hikes Guided Walks), but sometimes there are also camping places available. If you haven't done the great walks you haven't seen New Zealand either.

We had a great Milford Track experience with these guys. The service, food and accommodation was top-notch and well worth the cost.

I cannot say enough about my appreciation of the service provided by Ultimate Hikes, especially through this difficult time with the weather, a flood, and damage to the Milford Track. Given the response so far from the people I have been in contact with over the floods, and imagining the immense pressure they must be under, I believe that anyone who undertook an Ultimate Hikes walk would be in the most capable hands, both physically and psychologically. I have postponed my walk in April, but feel that anyone who wanted to have an adventure and a possible ride in a helicopter should go on the walk sooner rather than later. If the care I have received so far is any indication then you will be in impeccably safe hands with this company. Thank you!

The ONLY way to backpack in my opinion! Yes, pricey, but the guides are super nice, the food is awesome and I don't have to carry a heavy pack! I just did my fifth hike with them so that says it all!

We did the Routeburn route and it was exceptional start to finish: great orientation with hands-on advice; they offer complimentary packs, raincoats, and some other great + give you tips on what to bring (and buy); the tour guides know their stuff and are very friendly; the lodges are exceptional (clean, cozy, and well kept); all the meals were great as well.. Oh, and of course the track itself: gorgeous.

Some of my friends were surprised when I booked with Ultimate Hikes saying they thought it was too pricey but, having just completed the Classic Walk with them, I think they provide outstanding value for money. Fabulous food? Tick that box. Professional, cheerful and helpful guides? Tick that box. Well-designed accommodation that is clean, comfortable and functional? Yep, tick that box too. Worth every penny.

Excellent tour host and facilities provider. Guides are helpful, professional and go beyond. Milford Track lodges are first rate and the food selection, given isolation is amazing.

Walking the Milford Track was an experience of a lifetime. Thank you Tom, Gwyn, Brittany, and Toshi for making it so perfect for our family. Each day was filled with epic scenery as we walked back into time, and ending each evening with five star dinners at the lodges.

It's a place to put on a bucket list and to see and enjoy as much as you expect.

The Milford Track: Ultimate experience with great comfort, food and guides. Highly recommend it!

This is a walk in a lifetime. Far from cheap, but the experience is priceless, and there are sometimes places left as little as one to two months before. We spent 3 days walking the Milford track, a day getting there, and a day on the sound and getting back to Queenstown. The guides are incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable. There are 50 places a day in peak season. You don't have to carry food and the lodges are good to great. The star is the trail. Every other turn has a beautiful moment. There are bush robins in the valley, green Kia and Weka at the top of the pass, giant ferns, moss covered black beeches, hundreds of streams and two or three spectacular waterfalls. The western side of the pass is more obviously rainforest, but both the ascent to and descent from the pass are spectacular. You'll take a boat trip along the sound, which gets wild as you reach the mouth to the Tasman Sea. We watched waterfalls being blown back up the cliff by the wind. You do need to train beforehand if you aren't used to walking 10-13 miles in a day. Oh, and your walking group will contain people from all over the world. We met some really interesting and lovely people in ours. This was the highlight of New Zealand for us in a 6 week stay.

Extremely organized, efficient company. From the beginning to the end there was not a thing missed. The staff on the hike were friendly, professional, experienced, knowledgeable, helpful, smiling, and were always there to make everyone feel at home. Whether someone needed encouragement to keep moving or a smile when waking up early after a long day before, blisters bandaged the professionalism was always evident. Start to finish this is an amazing organization.

Seem like genuine folks, proof will be in the pudding on the trail.
