Amazing customer service! My husband and I had a trip to Belize planned for March 2020, which unfortunately had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19. Mystic River resort kindly provided us with a voucher for the value of our stay, which was valid for one year. Fast forward to today, with COVID-19 worse than ever and additional personal issues to consider, we did not feel it would be safe to plan travel any time in the upcoming months. I reached out to Mystic River resort to express my concerns and they met them with nothing but kindness and consideration. They understood the unique situation I was in and graciously offered a refund for the cost of our stay. I was extremely impressed with their customer service. In my experience, it is rare that a resort shows such commitment to prioritizing their guests well-being. My family and I will certainly be planning another trip to Mystic River resort in the future. I can t recommend them enough!

Really secluded however a romantic place to share with your loved one or ones, with lots of trails and fruit trees to pick and eat. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, they aim to please.

Highly recommend Mystic River Resort. It s a hidden gem. Very well kept, nice and spacious rooms, all water is treated - they give you ice cold bottles for everywhere you go. The food is all grown, raised and sourced locally so it is delicious. You can even milk the goats! The own 180+ acres so we did a lot of hiking and exploring. We did the Busy Bee package and every tour was well organized and a great adventure. We were sad to leave and can t wait to go back!

So this place is so relaxing and fun. When you book your room you're talking to the owner, lol I didn't know that. From pickup at the airport to lacking the resort you are treated like family. Just great all around. Can't miss resort in Belize.
All of the excursions are custom and by yourself if you want, really cool touch. Have fun! Don't forget to ask about wine and cheese, we met some great people at that!

Cannot fully express how wonderful this place is. The accommodations are beautiful, each structure separate and private for optimal relaxation. No TV or wifi in the rooms, but wifi is available at the bar and the restaurant. Every meal was fabulous, and all the ingredients were home-grown, including the goat cheese and yogurt (made from the milk of the resident goats). The staff is very friendly and accomodating; everyone learns your name and makes a point to say hi and ask you how you are. We really enjoyed the free coffee service, which includes coffee and the accoutrements delivered at your doorstep at 7am. We poured ourselves a cup, sat on the porch, enjoyed the sounds of the jungle around us. The staff will also book all of your extracurricular activities, which is very convenient. Everything was wonderful. We'll definitely be back.

We (a family of 3) stayed at Mystic River for three nights (in April 2017) and had a fantastic time. You really don't need to leave the resort to have a good time. We had fun tubing the river, watching iguanas from the back of room #1, and just relaxing with all the sounds of the jungle. We had a really enjoyable time talking to the owner during her wine and cheese event. It's just a relaxing place with friendly staff - not to mention spending time in the yoga room above the river for that little bit of extra peace. The food is also tasty and reasonably priced.

Stayed here back in July 2016. This place can be summarized as an Oasis in the middle of nowhere. Getting here is like driving into Xanadu. Its about 3 hours from Belize City airport and 15 minutes from San Ignacio downtown. A little pricey but you get more than what you paid for - handmade toiletries, fresh flowers in every room, each cabin is made of a different type of wood, balcony, some of the best home-cooked european/belizian food, 24/7 security guards etc. The owners are a French couple who make you feel at home. An ideal Honeymoon destination.

Very pleasant stay! Very kind and helpful staff. Room was modern clean with its own porch, and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. To get there was little tough, as the road for last 2 miles is quite ruff but is definitely worth it!!!!

Mystic River Resort was so peaceful, a perfect way to end a vacation. The staff was kind and the food was amazing. We enjoyed sitting at the bar, chatting and watching nature. We also enjoyed hitting the trails on horseback. Our guide was knowledgeable and pointed out different trees and plants. It was very clear that he loved his job and sharing the horses with us. They only thing I would recommend is an ice machine that is available to guests.

This place is a diamond in the rough. Tucked away outside of of San Ignacio, it is close to the local town, but far enough away to slow down and relax. We visited during the slow season, and it almost felt like an exclusive resort. The staff was beyond amazing. They were so accommodating and were a great resource to learn about the culture and history of Belize. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and even more friendly. Highly recommend this place. The facilities and amenities were great. Overall, a wonderful experience.

I stayed at the Mystic River for a couple of night...

I stayed at the Mystic River for a couple of nights and honestly I waited a couple days to make sure I wanted to leave this review. After waiting for 30 min and the airport we called and They got a hold of the driver who showed up later. While checking in, we asked about the activities we wanted to schedule for the next day and were told that the activities we wanted were not available and that we needed to schedule in advance. This was extremely frustrating because we had communicated multiple times before our arrival if we needed to secure any activities ahead of time and each time we were informed and assured that it would needed to do that when we arrived. We were then taken to our room and to our dismay we found only two beds. This was extremely frustrating since we had 3 people, were paying an additional fee for the 3rd person and again before our arrival communicated multiple times and wear a shirt each time that a third bed/cot would be provided. Now we understood the eco friendly no AC resort but only one stand up fan in the room was not okay. In addition we tried to open the windows (which had screens) to get that jungle breeze going. This is when we found that the main window wouldn t open because there was a tiny bolt still in it that needed to be removed. So Long story short, after two of us had to continuously go up to the office and deal with the rudest man we have ever met who kept laughing, lying, ignoring, sending a young girl with ice and another fan at our request, talking down to us, and saying he had no one on sight capable of looking at the window, I bribed a security guy to come and look at the window. The security guy Melvin was amazing and had it opened in less than 2 minutes. He went out of his way to try and make up for the Manager earlier. We weren t trying to make a big deal but when on the same arrival day, we were late being picked up, couldn t do the activities we wanted and were assured we could schedule, no third bed, one fan and then the main window wouldn t open and needed a 2 second fix that we could have completed with the right tools and then the manager was rude it was unacceptable. From that point forward the time spent here went downhill. Awful customer service from everyone. Continuous charges that they add on to everything add up. The tours were extremely expensive. On a positive note, we did love Oscar, one of the tour guides who did an amazing job and seemed to genuinely know his material. Not a lot to do on site. They lie and try and charge everything as an incidental and then when you want to speak to the owner or staff member who accused you of damage, suddenly the owner is gone and the staff member is on another tour. Josie in the office is abrasive, loud, rude, and is extremely disrespectful and demeaning to guests and staff. Everything seemed at least 30 min out from the resort so don t recommend for kids or families. The food was good, BUT service was AWFUL. The waiters never refilled the water or cleared for the next meal. When asked for limes for our water we d not get them or get them 30 min later by the waiter carrying the cut limes in his bare hands. At one point we had to go into the kitchen to get someone to serve us. Another time we waited an hour for the bill and the waiter was nowhere to be found so as we walked out we saw him sitting at the bar drinking. So plan for 2-3 hours for each meal. The only night we got okay service is when we sat next to the Owners at dinner. I understand the Owners wanting to add a required 10% charge to everything as a tip for all employees, but having come from another resort, Mystic River s employees were lackadaisical, rude, uninformed, uninterested and unconcerned of its guests because of it. They blame everything on someone else and rely on the owner to much as an excuse. Everyone needs a customer service lesson. All in all I would not return to Mystic River and I would look at alternative resorts before I booked with them.

Can't fully describe how incredibly enjoyable this resort was. The rooms are amazing! Large comfortable, stunning. Views are amazing. You are with nature! The staff took care of us better than if I was staying with family. I am one usually who can explain in detail why something was so good but I am at a loss for words. What I will say, you have to go and stay here to fully appreciate what a vacation is supposed to be like.

The staff was so great! I can't ever say thank you enough. We left on luggage in the room by accident and let with our driver heading to the airport. 30 minutes into our drive our driver gets a call, he explains we left a bag, we check and indeed we did. The resort had already headed to catch us with the bag... we waited on the side of the road and they were there in 20 minutes with it... what company does that?!! Everyone book your next trip at mystic river... quiet, comfortable, excellent food, cocktails and the nicest people you will think of as family that you will ever meet...
