Wanted to try I've cheesecake tart but they sell only 8 pieces per tray and too many for me. But a customer next to me was praising it so it must be good! Bought ube cheesecake in a cup. Thick and creamy cheese, beautiful deep purple colour and tasted very good. I shall go back for more of it and to get cookies and tarts as well.

Walking around Honolulu, we saw a lot of desserts that were made with Ube, a purple sweet potato. Curious as to what it may taste like, we searched for the best Ube desserts in town and found @ubae_hawaii. First up was their Ube Crinkle Cookie, which features a soft and chewy texture that complimented the Ube flavor really well. We also tried their Cheesecake tarts, and were delighted with its excellent shortbread crust. Purple foods isn t something you find very often, and we were glad to have been able to have some while visiting Honolulu!

It's a little bit overpriced but I like the taste of it personally! It does not have strong ube flavor. If you have extra time in Honolulu then maybe check it out, otherwise you can safely skip it. And yes there is no seating. Parking can also be hard so be aware.

We are ube fans and decided to try the cheesecake with graham cracker crust, cookies, and tarts. Loved it all and you can really taste the ube. Busy parking lot but worth making a stop. This holds up to the fancy ube desserts in the Philippines and Los Angeles.

I visited from out of state, very excited to try this. I got one cheesecake and a cookie. Both were good. The cheesecake was smooth and the cookie had a nice mild crunch on the outside while being soft on the inside. The only other thing being sold at the time was the tart, so I assume they re out of some of their other items for now.

When I went it looked like they were maybe doing some reconstructing. Unfortunately, no seating to enjoy my snacks. Their current limited hours made it so I almost didn t get to try them before leaving the state.

Good desserts/snacks though. Just prepare to eat it elsewhere.

The cookies were really delicious and soft but didn't really have a strong ube flavor. Also got a cheesecake. It was good also, but again, no obvious ube flavor. The crumbly crust was fantastic though.

We were kind if disappointed overall. We wanted to get some tarts but you can only buy them in packs of 8.

We were visiting Oahu and excited to try out this place as I love ube. I bought the soft serve, cheesecake tarts and the crinkle cookie. Soft serve is good but I would like it with strong ube flavored. Not a fan of the cheesecake tarts as the cream cheese overpowered the ube tasted. Didn't try the cookie but hubby likes it. Overall I didn't get the hype.

I absolutely love UBAE
(Ube = Purple Yam)

Let me start with: You can never go wrong with ube cheesecake!!

Everything here it's absolutely amazing!

They offer the traditional ube cheesecake, ube cheesecake tarts and ube crinkle cookies.

The ube cheesecake and cheesecake tarts have a divine taste, I love the texture.

The ube crinkle cookies, the presentation is just stunning. That shade of purple with the frost! It taste just as amazing as it looks! The cookie was nice and soft.

I can't wait to visit again!

We love ube more than anything that s why we can t fall in love with this place.

We were so stoked to try their items. I ve had their cheese cake, mini tarts, Fran, mamon, and cookies, but they just don t have enough ube flavor. If I close my eyes, I can t really tell that I m eating ube desserts. Amongst what we tried, mamon had the strongest ube halaya flavor, but even with that I wish I could taste more ube! I detected some textures of ube from cookie, but the sugar on the cookie overpowered the ube. Fran was the worst and neither of us couldn t say it s ube fran, the flavor of the sponge cake was non existent.

You can buy Trader Joe s ube ice cream and pancake mix and still can taste great ube flavors. Each item from Ubae is not cheap at all, so why waste money? Our impression is that Uabe is insta-pretty place/tourists trap. When I have ube cravings next time, I ll turn to Magnolia s ube ice cream or get Tiger Ube from Nio for much better experience.

There were three kinds of products using ube, but I bought a cheese cake tart and tried it. Sorry, filling was tasty with a little salty of cheese being outstanding. I think that it is a difficult place to go if there is no car to the City Square shopping center with a store. In addition, security in Karahi district where shop is located is not good, please be careful when going.

My taste buds have changed from decades of eating ...

My taste buds have changed from decades of eating sweet desserts to now favor savory food items. However, I was lured to this shop by a BOGO free offer for a 4 oz ube cheesecake through the Five Stars marketing platform.

Upon entry, the counter girl greeted us with a smile as I mentioned the BOGO offer which was loaded onto my account. She pointed me to the Five Stars keypad where I entered my phone number then went about browsing their display case of purpleness.

For those who may be unfamiliar with "ube", it's actually a regally purple-colored sweet potato. Pronounced "ooh-bey". In fact, its pronunciation is boldly emblazoned in a purple neon sign on one of this bakery's walls. (See photo). It's a mildly sweet and not too starchy sweet potato that is used most commonly by the Filipino community in desserts. The desserts can be made from fresh cooked grated ube or from powder, dependent upon its application.

Luckily, we had just eaten lunch so I didn't go "hog wild" ordering the mouthwatering ube products. I did get the BOGO free offer for a 4-ounce ube cheese cake and 6 ube crinkle cookies that I'll pair with a cup of hot black coffee or a Cortado.

The crinkle cookies are light with its somewhat cake-like brownie textured center. But, its ube flavor isn't particularly intense. As for the ube cheese cake, its cream cheese filling is rich and creamy but I couldn't taste ube flavor even though it was vividly purple. The graham cracker crust was crumbly and not too sweet to distract from the cream cheese flavor. I was a bit worried if our teeth or tongue would be stained purple from these treats because we just got our teeth cleaned by our dentist. Well, no staining occurred.

We liked their ube products but it's not something that we crave of would indulge in frequently.

Everyone comes here for the cookie but!!! The cheesecake is the real winner. The ube flavor isn t as strong in the cookie compared to the cheesecake. The cheesecake was the best ube cheesecake I ve ever had, it s almost like an ube ice cream. Also the purple color here is strong, you know for sure it s ube. I felt like after the cheesecake, my whole body was going to turn purple...and into ube.

The desserts themselves are good, just a little too sweet. However what's most disappointing is that they taste nothing like real ube. When we visited southeast Asia we got to taste it and this place doesn't come close to it. The cheese cake is literally just regular flavor with purple dye.
