Just beautiful, scenic, active and fun. I would recommend this place to anyone who still has Adventure in their bones.
Just beautiful, scenic, active and fun. I would recommend this place to anyone who still has Adventure in their bones.
Great place to spend the day. So much to do even if it's just hanging out by the water.
Great place to spent the weekend. We de paddle boarding and it was a blast
Great place to go hiking, biking or walking with the family. $6 to park makes for a very affordable family day close to Charlotte
Great place but could be improved with additional fingerprint checkins at ALL activity areas - I can't tell you how many times I've wasted time being turned away because I forgot to checkin (even tho I have a season pass) - additionally, I'd like to see electric vehicle charging stations here like most modern and frequented activity destinations. Additionally the ropes courses (canyon zip for example March 9, 2016) tend to close before the posted hours - Great place but LOTS of room for improvement - please send to management
Walking trail is dangerous because you have to share with bike riders. No dedicated walking trail.
Honestly one of the cooler places I've been to. Our white water rafting guide was amazing and taught us a lot. The zip lines are a ton of fun and all in all the experience was well worth the price.
It's a little pricey, but it is a lot of fun. Anyone visiting the Charlotte area should go there for a day.
Yes! This place was top notch fun. We did the whitewater rafting, ziplines, obstacles, rock climbing wall over the pool and paddleboarding. You will have to do a lot of walking and spend some time going through orientations for safety, but what a great place. The day pass was only $59 and included everything but the big ziplines and rentals like bikes. I would def come back here.
Best place to take out of town visitors. For locals, I recommend the annual parking pass ($50/year). There are always events going on here and I love the place. I go mountain biking there regularly, but they also have rope courses, zip-lining, kayaking, rock climbing, dining options, beer on tap, and of course rafting. You can rent equipment if you don't have your own. They crank up the water on Friday evenings in the summer if you are looking for a bigger thrill.
Worth the season pass. Great place to just chill or have an adventure. Several food options.
This is such a unique place! Great for families or people who are new to rafting. The staff are well-trained and enthusiastic, and you can tell they have fun at their jobs. Safety is valued above all else, with short "orientations" before each activity. The facility is very clean and well-kept.
Great place for a full day of fun. Lots of hiking trails that you can use without having to pay extra.
If you like to be outside come to the Whitewater Center and have more things to do.
This place is like Disney world on steroids but less expensive!! They have activities for all ages. Their staff is so helpful and professional. We try to go there with my husband ANY chance we get.
Thursday night big water is a must for anyone who loves a thrill.
Fun place with LOTS to due. Kayak, rafting, bicycle, zip line, etc. Live bands...and beer.
Nice sunset, good place to chill, bring your doggie, meet friends and have a beer or 12
Such an amazing location!! Absolutely gorgeous facility with so much to do! No matter what type of outdoor activities you enjoy, you'll find USNWC very accommodating! Zip Lines, Hiking/Biking Trails, Watersports, and Rock Climbing are some of the things you'll find here! Staff is extremely helpful, polite, accommodating, and professional. Facility is kept very clean and modern. Perfect place for a Family, Couple, or Friends! I highly recommend checking out the US National Whitewater Center if you're ever in the area or in Charlotte.
Great place to hang out and do fun outdoor activities. One of my favorite places to spend time.
There is no national park for water sports more complete. Great atmosphere and very organized mto
Favorite Charlotte activity place. Buy the All Day Pass to experience whitewater rafting, rock climbing, zip lines, rope courses, paddle boarding, and kayaks! Great beer selection everywhere you turn. Can easily get dehydrated during the summer because you're having so much much so make sure you drink lots of water throughout the day.
An experience that my wife and I will never forget. We tried the rafting, kayaking, paddle board, obstacle courses, mountainbiking, and rock climbing into the pool. So many fun and exciting things for the entire family. If you plan to do absolutely everything that this place has to offer, you'll need at least two full days to experience it all.
First visit and I was blown away by the expanse of the park, the variety of activities and restaurants, the professionalism of the staff, and the Whitewater experience itself. We took the adventure raft trip, which was perfect. Not as benign as the family option and not as harrowing as the Rodeo trip. Would absolutely go again.
Ice rink was packed. Lights display was okay. Tons of lines.
Awesome service and guest interaction. Great activity, will definitely go back
Great experience! Get there early! I felt very safe the entire time, what a great way to have fun on the water! Great restaurant, great views. Concerts! I wish there were more covered seating areas to watch people in the rafting areas.
Love this outdoor space! Only 20 minutes from uptown. Climbing walls, ropes courses, ziplines, whitewater rafting and courses, kayaking on the Catawba, jump tower, bar restaurant, live music... This is a great place!
Parking is six bucks for a car. Trails are free! Just grab lunch on the way, and sit and watch the rafters with your kids. Walk down to the river on a trail and call it an adventure! Have fun! Breathe fresh air! GET OUTSIDE!
Awesome spot to mountain bike, trail run, or hit one of their festivals. Also, there is water if you are into that.
The Whitewater Center has a lot to offer; walking and biking trails, flatware activities such as kayaking and SUP, whitewater activities, rock climbing, zip lining, rope obstacle courses, and more. It's even a nice place to just sit by the rapids and watch people on the water. They have a store for supplies, store for food, restaurant, and beer. Parking is $6 per day, or you can get an annual parking pass for $50. The prices are a bit expensive for food and activities, as to be expected. They have a lot of activities and events, though, and the place is a lot of fun. One of the best places to be on s beautiful day.
This place rules... Bike, Kayak and Beer in one day. Doesn't get any better than that.
Love this place, zip lining is awesome, kayaking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting n kayaking, food, beer take my friends who come to visit me here n they all loved it
Went for team building on ropes course. Great experience thanks to wonderful staff and well kept trails and facilities
The US National White Water center is an excellent sports recreation center. This place is clean (including its rest rooms and other facilitys). The burgers from the onsite restaurant were as good any local places i have eaten. Great place to go walk around and have lunch even if you don't like any of the activities.
Outdoor Adventures, lots of activities for adults, Ziplining, Kayaking, Rafting, Mountain Biking, Rock climbing or just relax at Rivers Edge Restaurant
This is our favorite place to take out of town visitors. We checked it out when we first moved to the area and absolutely love the place. White water rafting, ropes courses, kayaking, hiking, biking and zip lines! Something for everyone. Plus dining and entertainment.
Went down for a day. Had a blast!
What made this an unforgettable experience was the staff. Especially KEVIN from our rodeo rafting. If you have the opportunity to have him as a guide you ll have more than a blast!
Once again KEVIN thank you from Canada!
Ps. Food is kind of pricy..
This is place absolutely amazing for outdoor enthusiasts. The whitewater is only part of the fun. There is also zip lines, rope courses, mountain biking, rock climbing, and flatwater kayaking. You can also pay to go down the whitewater on a raft with others.
I love the whitewater center itself. So much so that my wife and I decided to have our wedding here on November 7th. The ceremony site is a little off the beaten path so they told us we could have someone drive our guests that were unable to walk the hill. Well they waited until the night before our wedding to let our planning company know there was a race literally just outside the ceremony space. When I arrived there was blaring music and a race right on the road where our ceremony was. The workers wouldn't let my guests drive up the hill and complained about what they called "a last minute wedding" even though this wedding was booked for about a year in advanced. They did get someone with a cart to help my guests back down the hill, which is the reason this isn't a one star review, but they still had to walk up it to begin with. Ill still visit the Whitewater center again, but they almost ruined my wedding day.
Such great crowd control, and so many trails that you can escape the crowds whenever and great beer selection! Just an overall great place, go during the weekday to avoid crowds and spent the money on the day pass! It's totally worth it!
I visited the U.S. National Whitewater Center on Sunday, June 18, 2017 and the whole experience was amazing. Too begin, all the staff was super friendly and attentive. I felt like they wanted to be there and surely each one of them love what they do; to help all the visitors have a great time. I can say thank you and I would definitely go back.
Always tons to do out there. I've done several of the ropes courses, which are always fun. The free events are always a great time as well (Film Series and River Jam).
Wow! Amazing place for outdoor enthusiasts. Rafting was the main attraction for us but there is so much to do and the equipment is provided. Great deal.
Great customer service with plenty of outside activities from white water rafting to rock wall to biking. At least three restaurants on sight for snacks or a full lunch. If you like fish try the tuna or salmon salad. Excellent - The NY Cheesecake and assortment of beers are good also. Enjoy
The ice skating was so much fun. We went to look at the Christmas lights and they were ok but not real festive and it was very muddy but the ice skating was fun.
Dave & Buster's is what it is. The bowling lanes you're not that great. Difficult to believe when there's no oil on the lanes the Machinery kept breaking they didn't have the right size shoes not enough bowling balls I would recommend attending an AMF Center or Brunswick if you're serious about bowling
Really neat place to visit. Good music venue. Dining is surprising good and considering the location, reasonably priced.
My favorite place in Charlotte. There are things to do year-round.
I am writing this review as someone who doesn't like the outdoors. I went to go ice skating and I was surprised how clean and fun the place was. You have to pay to park (only $6.00) but you can enter the center for free. There are some sights and walks which you can enjoy for free! (Ice skating is not one of them, but I found it worth it.)
This place is amazing, definitely worth getting the season pass. Also huge thank you to whoever found my go pro there yesterday and turned it in, thank you!
Amazing place, so much to do here for the whole family. Whether you are a Pro or a first timer, the staff are really good and thoughtful to make sure you are safe and have a good time!
Went when it was raining. Still had a really good time. Plenty of things to do and had a blast doing them. Parking costs money which is odd because the lot is all dirt and no designated spots. Clean facility. Bring some spare clothes to change into!
Great place to come for any outdoor activities. Buy passes to whitewater raft, kayak, zip line, etc. or just come to hangout, bring your pup, walk/bike the trails or have a beer and listen to live music Thurs-Sat evenings in the summer. Pay per car to park ($6), can buy a year pass as well. After paying for parking the rest of the center is free to get into and you only pay for activities that you want to do. Staff is always friendly, facilities are always clean and trails are well marked (trail maps available to buy at the store on-site). Restaurant on site is a little pricey and there are signs posted for no outside food/drink so would recommend just leaving a cooler in your car with drinks and snacks if you don't want to do a sit down meal. Don't forget comfortable shoes and sunblock!
This place is incredible. My family and I made a 2 hour trip to come visit and we were not dissapointed.
You can spend the day here partaking in their laundry list of activities or you can come, bring your own hammock and relax. There is good food and drink on site as well. Great for kids even if their too young or small for activities. Dont forget your dog as they're allowed too!
horrible place.. rude and lazy workers that giveback such bad attitude. The instructors that work in the white water rafting area are not well trained and are very rude. Also if you lost something in that area they don t even help you find! In total i will not be visiting this area again.
Great place to take the kids. Do some out door activities or just listen to the water flow and have a cold craft beer.
Loved this place. Rented mountain bikes and hit the trails.
All of the attractions are great. They need better signage, and matching staff.
The Lights display looks as if someone asked a Fred Armisen character from Portlandia to create a Christmas display.
Every city should be luck enough to have such an awesome resource for outdoor adventures.
This place absolutely rocks! for the $59 all day all sports pass, the value is second to none. I got to go rafting 3 times in a day, kayaking, 3 zip lines and 2 ropes courses. I also had time to rock climb, I just didn't. we had 4 in our group and had a blast. definitely worth the all day affair. slept well that night and the next morning. I had the options to bike ride and paddle board but didn't do that. The food was average but the beer selection was great.
Awesome place for a family or extreme outdoor adventure.
