This place is amazing!!! I especially love that I can enjoy outdoor activities without worrying about buying and storing the gear.
Lots of fun trails and events. Also a LOT of people.... can be a bit much at times.
Really cool place! So much for outdoor enthusiasts to do.. and I was able to see Caamp and Tyler Childers at Tuck Fest.
Pretty good spot for activities, but not the best trails
This is a great place for a family friendly outdoor activities. There are many many things you can do over there. This includes rock climbing, zip lining and hiking. The trails are awesome. Mountain biking is also very fun in this area. There are some casual restaurants that you can get some food in. Typically, we just bring our own. The ice rink is also found in the winter time. I would highly recommend anybody visiting the area to consider a day at this park. Great music in the outdoors during the summer time also. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 a lot of these have been canceled, but the park and the site overall remains a great place to visit.
My favorite place to spend with my daughter. A lot of fun thing to do. My daughter's favorite is a climbing wall with a pool down the wall. You can climb to the top and then dive into the water.
I'm very disappointed in my experience at the WWC yesterday. We've been season pass holders since 2011. We supported them even when they were hit hard by the amoebe incident. Yesterday there were100s of people at the park. The lines were long and not spaced out. None of the staff or visitors were wearing masks other than my family and 1 employee. I understand not wearing one during activities, but I expect people in lines and the staff who have close contact with the public to wear them
Love this place. Be sure to thoroughly check out the web site before you go to see which activities are open for the day and then plan to stay for the entire day. The best way to approach a visit is to first schedule your whitewater raft trip if this is something that you wish to do and plan other things around that. DO NOT BE LATE FOR YOUR RAFT TIME or you may have trouble finding another available time that day unless you want to pay $5 to reserve a specific time. You experience more actual whitewater in a one-hour session than you would on most two-day rafting trips on rivers in the region. When you look at it from that perspective, the price isn't really that bad.
Good food, excellent craft beers, and very helpful staff. So glad that I live close enough to have a season All-Sport pass!
Long waits for food. Long waits for restrooms. Food is expensive.
I love hanging out at this place... I enjoy the special events that they have (almost always family friendly) and try to schedule business lunches at the Riverside Cafe whenever I can (good place). I'm a mountain biker - so, I come frequently to get the miles in. Trails are all mostly beginner level (even the blue and black trails) - but, I always have fun. Great place to introduce someone to the sport... and plenty of beer/food options to be had. Most events are free - and there is no fee to enter the park to utilize the trails ... you do have to pay for parking, however. ... and activities, of course. (Yes - there is an ER close by.)
I enjoyed the trip a lot, I did the 100 ft drop a total of 8 times, even though the drop was fun the highlight of it was the person working the drop, Caroline, it may have been Carolina I'm sorry if I was wrong, but she was amazing the entire time and made the trip so much more fun and enjoyable, she was so nice and was a great person to talk to for the eight times I jumped, next time I go I may have to ask if she's at the jump because if she is I will have to try and break my record of eight, overall the trip was amazing and she was a big part of that, and the five stars I put is more for her than it was anything else, also the day I went was the fourteenth and in-between 12-1 there was someone training with Caroline at the 100 ft drop and she did amazing, she did all the safety checks excellent and made sure I knew all the rules, I look forward to the next time I come, please show this to Caroline and, THANK YOU CAROLINE!!!
We had the best time. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area or a local. We were visiting from Minnesota with our 3 boys and they just loved it. Especially the rafting. Shane was out guide and he was amazing. He really made my kids and me feel safe. My youngest has some sensory sensativities and my son felt safe and had fun. THANK YOU SHANE! Or SHAMUS as my son called him!
Awesome experience and not one my kids will forget anytime soon.
Everything was well organized and great fun. We did some zip lining, the 100ft drop and a Wildwater rafting tour. I can recommend this to everyone that likes to go on adventures and do some sports in their freetime. I would do it again at anytime
This is someplace you need to go to if you're in the area. Amazing that this facility is here. We truly sisnt know whabto expect and it blew our expectations out of the water, (see what I did there)! Go spend a day, you won't be disappointed.
Lots of out door activities and physical activities
This place is awesome! HUGE facility absolutely filled to the brim with fun activities. Definitely worth the 6+ hour drive. The facility is clean and beautiful. The staff is super helpful and nice. The Rock climbing is good and the rope courses are pretty sweet. The deep water soloing is where it's at though. With walls up to 45 feet, it'll give you some thrills. The aqua rock annual deep water competition is a blast too. Well organized and efficiently executed. Definitely recommend this place.
Incredible place to explore. The fees are well worth it, and if you're a local and enjoy outdoor sports/activities, I would highly recommend the 365 day membership.
So much fun and so much to do! Great for most outdoors-y and adventure loving people!
Needs to be more Christmas theme, play carols while skating
With a little more organization we could have gotten more in. Food and employees all top notch!
Great way to spend a day. Get there early ($70 each, so get your money's worth!). Bring sunscreen.
Might if been a great place if it eas not under construction still charged us to get in.
Awesome outdoor activity venue. Great festivals. Can grab an ice cold beer after playing.
Awesome place. Not really for kids younger than 8. Would give 5 stars if there were a splash pad or shaded playground area for the younger kids to play while us older kids explored. It was too hot for the little ones to not be able to get anywhere even near water. Highly recommend for anyone over 8 that likes adventure.
Great. venue!! Dog friendly. Very dog friendly!! Its wonderful.
Good place to listen to music. Nice restaurant with good food.
Snobby socialists. The camp for kids is not single working parent-friendly. -And with all the money this place brings in, is it too much to ask that they have a parking lot??? The rest of the facility is state of the art and definitely aimed at those with means.
It's a great place for adventure. Get a day pass and enjoy rafting, ziplines, rope courses, hiking, biking and more! Be prepared to walk alot!
Love that you guys are offering a fun winter activity. Excited to check it out. Some feedback would be to offer 2 options. Option 1: Pass + Ice Skates=$20 Option 2: Pass + bring your own skates=$15. It just makes sense. That's what places who offer skating do to stay competitive and to be fair to the customer.
Something for everyone. A true asset for Charlotte.
It is great place to relax have adventure with family or friends .. must recommended if you are in this area... the only bad part is for some activity you have to stay in line for up to 3 hours .... hope that improves
Outdoor fun for the whole family. Rafting, climbing, Ziplining all in one day! Great beer selection too at the restaurant.
Great rafting and I love the wide selection of activities. Mountain biking, ropes courses, stand up paddle boards and kayaks with a zip line to top it off! Wow!
Always take my visitors here. Pup-friendly. Immaculately clean. Great beer. Seldom miss lunch on the patio.
Wonderful facility and experience, however, you shouldn't have to pay to park if you only want to simply shop at the outfitter store
Coolest place EVER!!! This place blew my mind. So many activities to do, awesome music, and great people. We ended up hanging all day for 10 hours. Love how there are showers on site to freshen up and change. Everyone who works there is so helpful and polite.
Forth of July we had to walk way too far. It was not family friendly, also not enough bathrooms.
The high school where I teach had a Prom at the White Water Center and it was great!
Had a great first visit here even with a rained out middle of the day. Our guides were awesome! Joey, Jeremy, Connor and Jessi(e?) were great on the white water. Benji and everyone on the ropes course were super supportive and helpful! Would definitely come back because the staff was so good.
The best family time you can ever have in this place. Everything was amazing.
The zipline becomes boring after a while the i personally dont recommend doing the complete track and rest all the activities are great !
Do try the 90ft free fall ! Its a must.
This place just keeps getting better and better with choices for things to do and enjoy the outdoors!
We had a company outing and took a run at the ropes course... our first of 2 events this year. always a fun time at the USWWC. Food was tasty....
Edited from 5-Star 6/26/20. Liked to come here at least once a year. Made it part of our vacation plans this year only to find out that the zip lines now cost an additional $20 extra PER PERSON on top of the $60 day pass fee to only get one ride on each. We decided (after a 30 minute drive from our hotel and another 30 minute wait in line) not to even bother. Beyond disappointed at this money grab tactic due to COVID.
Love the bike trails here! They are kept up really nicely and the restaurant they have is good to.
I had lots of fun here. I am not normally a water person but the ability to just jump into something like kayaking was incredibly fun. The worst part of the entire trip was me going over into the water but that was also the most fun part.
We love the white water center! You get a pass and free parking for the best yoga I have ever done in my life. I'm the forest surrounded by trees, you get to release tension and relax your body. This year wwc has added so many more yoga classes. The slow flow tuesay at 6:30pm is now my favorite! My girls and I do this every week we can. Sorry we missed yesterday when it was raining.
This place is fantastic!!!!! Fun for all ages, not super cheap but how else can you create such an amazing place?!?
Our family had a great time, even on a cold day. The day pass was with it to be able to have access to all the activities although we couldn't got it all in. We originally went for the ice skating but spent the least amount of time skating. The skating was crowded but still fun. Not sure it's worth the $20/person if you don't have a day pass.
Sports park, ideal for walking, cycling or sharing with friends!
Pretty area, well maintained. No completely paved tracks though.
Great place to go and catch a concert. They also have a good beer selection as well
Lots of fun was had here. The rafting was amazing and we got to watch the fun boat races. We will be coming back for more!
Great way to spend a day outside. Try some activities and grab a beer after.
Place is wonderful for adults. Lots to do and beautiful scenery.
Fun adventure. We took our nine and eleven year old. They had a blast, so did my husband and I. We went on the advanced Rapids and it was fine for them. We loved the obstacle course, tree ropes, and zip line. We booked around the facility on their bikes also. We packed our own food and ate in the parking lot. I do not recommend wearing crocks with the flimsy back or heavy sneakers. Wear solid shoe that won't need a sock but will dry quickly also. Or bring a change for after you go rafting. We did rafting last, so we were good, but you don't want to be in wet shoes all day.
Had a great day at the center. Five of us visited and the day was nearly flawless and without any issues, 2 exceptions...we arrived early so we could do everything (not just the water sports). The "Mega Zip" was much anticipated in our group as well as many others'. After purchasing our All Sport/All Day Passes, the second I signed their copy of the receipt the girl at the counter informs us the "Mega Zip is closed today...sorry". Seems like they should of come clean up front as you can "tailor" your pass. Hell, if we'd have know that we'd have only purchased the water sport passes and kayaked and rafted all day and saved $30.
Also, being an avid white water enthusiast, I own an Astral Greenjacket Rescue PFD and obviously I had it. I was informed by one of the "managers" that this jacket was unsuitable and that I would have to wear one of their sun faded, ripped, foul smelling, one-size-fits-all jackets...really??? To that guy, " you sure earned your stripes that day, Congratulations"
Other than these minor aggravations it was a great day!
Excellent !!!! Good atmosphere especially Friday and Saturday nights, live music, people with their pets and having a good time
Really great value for the money! Tons of activities all included. Went on a weekday and no lines. Food left a lot to be desired - everything was closed. Our rafting guide was not the best. We all fell out and out raft flipped. She put all the heavy people on the same side and then didn't tell us when or how many times to paddle. The guy who pulled me out of the water made a comment that she's the only guide that has that issue and had dumped her raft all day. If you get a different guide you'll more than likely be fine! Definitely worth going if your in NC.
Fantastic site for MTB trails and, they have a national whitewater training facility.
Great time and there is a lot more to do than meets the eye
I always have a good time mountain biking with my friends here.
This is a super fun place with lots to do! If you're up for an adventure you found your place.
Very fun and active you will have so much fun in wastewater/flat water or on there trails and ziplines/ropes courses
Love how many activities they offer as well as just lounging by the rapids.
Really neat water and ropes courses. Excellent way to spend a summer day.
