This is a great place to go whitewater rafting. Very knowledgeable and safety conscious staff.

Lots of stuff to do, make sure and at least wear shorts or swim suit and close toed shoes
Amazing place. Our family had such a wonderful time. Josh was an awesome guide for the rafting!
A wonderful place for outdoor activities. Great mountian bike trails! It gets busy here
Me and my family took a trip to North Carolina back in 2013 to visit my sister and during one of the days, we went to US National Whitewater Center for almost the whole day.
What did we do? We did most of all of the rope activities like Triple Track, Canyon Crossing, and Double Cross. We also did the Canyon Zipline, and finally we went on small Hiking trails. Sadly we didn't do Rafting or Kayaking since it was November when we visited... so it was freezing cold. But some crazy/nuts people did do the Rafting and Kayaking in the freezing cold water.
Other than that, the experience was awesome and really enjoyable. Very fun to bring the whole family, kids, and even your dog since its a dog friendly park.
One of the funnest places that I have been to in years. If you have a chance to go I would highly recommend it. I personally was on the ropes courses and zip lines but there is rafting, rock climbing and I think some sort of diving. Just remember to bring proper clothes for the activities you want to do.
Bands currently running Thursday through Saturday. Great beer selection.
This place sucks, if it were any good, it wouldn't be in North Carolina.
I have only been here for trail races, music and wine tasting(i.e. never for the whitewater) but it is a great place and always has a slew of fun events planned. Definitely worth a visit.
Great fun for entire family. Well kept good food and great place to hang out with family and friends.
Will definitely come back! Loved the ice skating and trail of lights they had around christmas time!
Had a good day today. Bought the day pass bracelets for my girls 13,13,15 and 40 yo mom. Weather couldn't have been nicer. Monday during spring break. Light crowd (as evidenced by parking lot emptiness).
Rafting was so much fun for the kids Had skittles the guide both times. On the adventure raft trip there are two laps on the wilderness loop and then two laps on the slalom loop, carried back up hill after each loop by conveyer belt.
Water temp was mid 60s but it was nicely refreshing with the sun shining brightly on us. The water was very clear despite the rain last night and smelled like a cross between a well maintained pool and lightening.
Just a quick moment to comment on other folks reviews. Whitewater rafting is an adventure activity as they tell us in the briefing. Becoming a 'swimmer' while rafting is an inherent risk. This is a shallow course and there are rocks and obstacles to create the whitewater rapids. All are instructed in the safety briefing how to most safely travel downstream as a swimmer. Also there are no 'class 5 rapids' at usnwc or 'waterfalls'.
Our guide did ask us if we wanted to surf a few of the rapids which is a fun endeavor that gets the rafting participants more water action (especially if you are in the front). After the first time, My girls begged to surf over and over again. They switched back and forth to who was in the front for the surfing. We rafted two trips today bc everyone enjoyed it so much.
Why I didn't give 5 stars... Agree with other complaints that although my girls really enjoyed the double back and figure 8 zips on hawk island it TOOK WAY TOO LONG. Waiting nearly 1.5 hrs to complete one zip trip. It was as if there were about half as many staff as should have been. I certainly understand that safety is paramount when 100 ft above ground but there weren't enough staff getting participants' harnesses checked, up the stairs, and hooked in to go. We zip at our family camp with 30 campers and have had our girls zip 6 times in the same hour (& we have to walk back).
If it weren't for the rafting I would have said that 4-5 zip trips in 8 hrs of operating time was a rip off for the $60 day pass per person.
The grounds were beautiful and well kept. It was lovely to sit on the shaded beirgarten and watch for the girls to zip line. It was nice to walk the dog around and see there were water bowls around for them provided by usnwc (very thoughtful!). The buildings and bathrooms were clean and in good order. My husband enjoyed the wide variety of craft beer available on tap. Parking was easy, but $15 to park our motorhome.
It would be nice to comeback to enjoy the other activities offered here.
If you or your kids like physical activity adventures, this is a great place. Pretty good pricing for one day but great pricing for annual passes. You can come in and watch your family or guests for free too if you don't want to participate.
This is a great place to take the family. The white water rafting was a lot of fun. I only wish I had enough time to go on the zipline.
Great place. Tried outdoor yoga class today, was amazing.
Great staff, clean facility. So much fun doing the white water rafting.
One of the best spots in Charlotte for family activities and outdoors! They also have River Jam during the summer (series of concerts) which is a perfect place to go at night and bring your dog.
Great place to visit. Parking is only $6 or $60 for a yearly pass. You can buy next year's pass in December and use. The food in the restaurants is 3-4 star. The rest of activities are 5 star. You can walk trails, mountain bike and do many other items all for the just the parking fee.
