Honest to God - this was the best experience I have had in a retail shop in a very, very long while.

I know nothing about coins, and I mean NOTHING. My young nephew (8years old) just got into collecting coins and we decided on a whim to take him into the shop to just look around.

I was praying on our drive in that there would be just moderately friendly sales staff that would let a little guy walk around and ask them a million questions. We were BLOWN away, the staff is incredible; truly, incredible! Every gentleman in there not only spent quality time with my nephew helping him look through cars, they spent time teaching him what to look for and what to get into collecting. This was all without buying anything.

We will be back many, many times. Thank you all, you have made this little guys day!

Excellent place to buy and sell coins. They will NOT low ball you when selling coins. They will not try to take advantage of you when selling coins to them. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Clean, comfortable and safe atmosphere.

US Coins, Inc., is, hands down, the most reputable silver and gold broker in the entire Houston Metroplex. I know...I've at least attempted to conduct commerce with all of them, from Baytown to The Woodlands. South of Dallas, these are the only guys I trust with my precious metals and trashy fiat.

Also, Anthony is the best. Highly knowledgeable and professional, I always ask for him by name, though they're all a great bunch!

After purchasing some bullion through another dealer, I brought to U.S. Coins a couple of pieces to sell to test current market pricing. Upon seeing the coins, U.S. Coins indicated the coins were counterfeit and then further proved this to me by analyzing the coin metal content via a spectrometer. I was devastated. U.S. Coins then advised me how to proceed in contacting the proper local and federal authorities. The U.S. Coins owner also contacted an investigative reporter, specializing in numismatics fraud, to further help in getting proper attention to the problem so that I got full restitution quickly, without involving lawyers and courts. I would not have known the coins were counterfeit if it had not been for U.S. Coins and I m certain I d still be waiting for officials to act if it weren t for U.S. Coins knowledge in the industry. I really appreciate the professionalism exhibited by everyone who helped me obtain a full refund. Many, many thanks.

These guys really take care of you. I recently walked into their store to sell some rings. They gave me a good price and were professional and sweet. Where they really shined is one of the rings I sold them I needed back. I was embarrassed and expecting a rejection. That didn't happen, they handed me the ring and I paid them what they gave me for it. Awesome service, Anthony was great. Highly recommend!

Unprofessional and disrespectful. I went in to buy silver state quarters and the guy pulls out all of the inventory for state quarters. Very clearly marked were the dates I required and the man said "We don't have that date." Maybe he didn't want me in the store because of my tattoos or the fact I had my 4 month old son with me. Either way he straight up lied to my face. Very disappointed with the service.

I'm not quite sure what the low ratings are about. I just sold them 6 silver dollars (c 1922) and got a fair price (fair meaning market value NOT fair as opposed to good or excellent - excellent on that scale). I got there six minutes after they closed and the employee locking the door still let me in and helped me (They were closing an hour early for Memorial Day weekend and I was unaware.). The employee that helped me was a couple of decades younger than I, but clearly knew what he was doing.

I inherited quite a few coins from my father so I'm no stranger to this process. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I know how to use Google, and have sold coins a few times over the past 10 years. That being said, I wasn't even close to being low-balled or cheated.

I suspect that the low ratings might be due to unrealistic expectations. You probably can get a better price on eBay, but on eBay YOU are the retailer for all intents and purposes. There will always be a slight adjustment when selling to a retailer. If you think you got cheated take your items to a 'we buy gold' store that is NOT a legitimate coin dealer and see what they offer you.

I first emailed twice and never recieved a reply to my question. I then called yet they never answer the phone. So I decided to visit this location and before I could sit down, I felt rushed, as if I was already rejected or even stereo typed. Not only did he admit he had never seen the coins I had in his life, meaning they were rare, but he never even took the time to professionally examine the coins to guarantee they were not valuable and dismissed me with an, "All I see is a bunch of change." The nerve. They are clearly seeking to only service individuals who carry themselves with some sort of elite image. Not professional at all. Valuable coins can be found by any type of personal image. This is pure ignorance. Next!

Offered 16 dollars for a eagle whose book value is 300...said they treat them like a regular eagle(only when buying apparently)..wierd they sell them for so much.crooks...sold on eBay for 175 after fees)....go elsewhere.also tried to offer 105 for bu 1964 Kennedy's ive seen them sell for 180+....with offers like that I am dumbfounded this place is in business. And the officer is a douche if you arent in a tux....once you pull out 5 k cash,your suddenly okey dokey horrified to here that he has also been profiling minorities....saving the rest of my stuff to sell when I'm back home in NC next week.

I have lived, worked, and retired here in the Houston area. I came into U.S. Coin a few years ago looking for a unique way of connecting my grandchildren to their American heritage while their parents feel called to missionary work else were. I was amazed at the variety of offers suggested.
With ten grandkids birthdays, Christmas, along with special occasions to budget; I with the staffs help always find unique lifetime memorable items for them as gifts to give on their returns.

I thought their shop was nice but boy, do they need improvement on customer service!! Sort reviews by Lowest first and read them. I went there in the last month to evaluate them for future business. I was impressed with the security but boy.....They have an arrogance and dismissive attitude which is uncalled for! I'd suggest another place to sell coins. They basically tell you to spend anything (face value) but the rare coins. They really undervalue...and I personally witnessed embarrassing condescending interactions with a woman wanting to sell coins. Not sure why they act like this but it was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere after listening for a while. And from reading the Low reviews posted here, it appears to be an ongoing problem over the years towards minorities and women. Not cool guys! And to the reviewer that said they paid higher than most...what a joke!! Their profit margins are paying for TV Ads!! NOT a low profit business. My impression is they are only interested in commodities and rare coins. Anything else and you will likely get ripped off because it isnt worth their time to individually look at every coin to give you a true value. The reason they advertise to bring in the coins and see what they are worth, is because they just lump everything that isn't highly valuable into a lump-sum price. Forget getting individual pricing. They will lump decades of coins together...over various grades....and give you one price regardless if some have 8x the value of others in the pile. Selling collections isn't easy since collecting isn't as common as it used to be...but these are not the guys to sell to. Use them for rare coins and bullion only. THEN...get more than on appraisal to protect yourself. Overall, not impressed with their attitude, customer service or how they treat women even though they were ok with me! NOT what the world needs right now.

I took my 12 year old son to this store in order to verify some information found on-line concerning a coin he received in a proof set that he purchased. Like many people, he thought that he had a very valuable coin based on information from the internet. He has been a novice collector for a few years now and really enjoys the hobby. We had done some research about coin stores and, in general, we were not thrilled with some of the experiences other people have had in Houston at many similar type stores. We were wanting, needing and hoping for information which would solve the mystery but also increase and encourage my sons interest in coins. Well, we hit the jack pot. The gentlemen that assisted us took the time to assist in research, educate my son, show him around some of the counters and discuss the specifics of other coins, as well as gave him a book and loop to continue his interest. His coin was not worth what we thought or hoped, but the experience was. When we ever have a coin (or other collectables need...baseball cards, comic, etc), we will be back due to the time and energy they put into our visit. Way to go U.S. Coins and Jewelry!!!!!

I was arrived at this location for a question on the value of 3 different gold coins. I was very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the staff. Nick was very helpful and didn't rush me. I made a purchase and returned the next week for another purchase and had the same pleasant experience with another staff member. Went there today with my brother looking for some morgan dollars. Grant was super, he went through my list and helped me pick several coins that I was missing (worked with me for about an hour) and then gave me a great deal. This is the best place to purchase coins, friendly, helpful and honest.
