Really cool place, and plenty of legroom compared to regular cinemas
Great experience, polite helpful staff and comfy seating
It's a good cinema but could have been better in terms of sitting.
Delightful heritage cinema with a vibrant bar and tea rooms. Three very different screens, wide range of films. Free newsreels though the day.
They put on the films that multiplexes won't touch and even have panel discussion viewings as well, plus good food and coffee
Good value, much better seats than the big chain cinemas and a great range of films.
Outstanding selection, great facilities, friendly staff. What's not to like?
Perfect place to see Cult Classics, Modern Blockbusters and so much more
Great coffee bar, a little bit small but very nice setting
Expensive for cinema but comfortable, able to take food and drink into cinema, enjoyable night
Always enjoy visiting Tyneside cinema. Great atmosphere and lovely quirky experience, try the cafe before you go in.
Great independent cinema with good film choice and retro looks!
We saw a film in the Roxy cinema. Great atmosphere, and the chairs are so comfortable with loads of leg room. We then went for a coffee downstairs after the film finished. Really enjoyed my first visit again for years.
There was loads going on. The bar and the coffee shop was great, I will be going again soon as there seems to be lots to see and do there.
A really nice experience, so much better than the usual multiplexes. Good food, good beer.
A great place to visit with tons of history, character with arty, foreign, classic and the latest films in luxurious surroundings. Plus you can even take a beer in with you!
Ladybird was brilliant. A gentle drama with some feisty women. I quite liked Sacramento too.
My favourite cinema! Conveniently located in a beautiful historic building in the heart of the city, the Tyneside Cinema is a cut above soulless chain cinemas, while remaining competitively priced. There are three screens, plus The Gallery with only three rows, for an intimate viewing experience!
The range of films is always eclectic, and, as part of the Europa Cinemas network, it's the only place in Newcastle and the surrounding area to consistently and reliably find the best foreign and arthouse films.
The Tyneside Coffee Rooms, within the cinema building, offers a good range of delicious food, from light bites to full meals. Service is always fast and efficient, so it's easy to fit in something to eat without being late for the film. There's also a new bar downstairs.
Loved it. Cosy little place. Film( The Favourite) was dreadful. Hasn't put me off.
Prciey, but old schoool, and you can take a pint in to your film.
Saw Parasite! Really enjoyed it. Very comfortable seats too. We ate in the bar before the film, the food was good but expensive.
This is an excellent cinema. As well as a great variety of movies, you're in a fantastic setting.
My only negative is, that of 2017, the new website is awful to use. It's a nightmare trying to book tickets, as a stage in the purchasing process appears to be missing.
I love this independant cinema. It is everything you could want from a cinema. Original features and great cafe and bsr/restaurant we're very lucky to have this :)
Lovely place to meet up with friends reasonable prices and lovely staff , would highly recommend a visit.
Best cinema and snack bars. Fantastic history dating back to the '20s.
A fine cinema in which to enjoy a film. Comfortable seats, great leg room and the chance to see some more unusual films not shown in mainstream cinemas. It also has a good bar with an excellent selection of real ales and lagers. 5/5.
Love this place and the seats are very kind to my back
Brilliant location for Reel Rock 12!! And the bar has Jakehead on tap. Heaven!!
Nice little cosy place, not same as the usual big boys, when it come to food, but appropriate for the event I attended yesterday.
Great cinema.Comfortable seats. Interesting programme, friendly cafe.
Lovely atmosphere. Great selection of food n drinks. Staff polite and friendly. Good value
Marvellous selection of art at all price levels. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Classes are Available.
Always a real treat to visit. Lovely building, great selection of films and such friendly, helpful staff. Cinema like it used to be.
Wonderfull, nostalgic cinema...lovley helpfull staff!
Absolute gem in Newcastle City Centre. Well worth a visit, great cinema experience.
A historic cinema with very modern facilities. Helpful staff. Screens popular and foreign cinema.
Lunch and a movie. A great way to spend a sunday. The food, as always was fantastic and timely even though it was busy.
Brilliant that there is such a great resource for less commercial films. Attractive building and good attention to its history. The restaurant food, however, is overpriced and leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality and service.
Fantastic local cinema with great films, wonderful atmosphere and excellent food and drink.
A hidden art deco gem in Newcastle, spared by WW2(theater and bridges also intacts)! More than movies, it has a stage, galleries and excellent cafe.....
Great atmosphere, much more cinema than other cinemas in Newcastle.
Great venue, good seats and sound system. Drinks are expensive but a great selection. Best cinema in the North East
Lovely staff, comfy seats. Great cinema experience.
What a beautiful place
It really brings a completely different experience than most of the other cinema theaters now a days.
Beautiful cinema, with lovely staff, showing a range of unique films.
This is an independent cinema full of character and charm, if your a film lover especially of less main stream, or you like the feel of a smaller cinema then this is the cinema for you
We were there for a wedding and it proved a very good venue
Great films. Comfy seats. Great location. Not expensive.
Stopped off for lunch here ... Good food at good prices.
Haven't been in a while, was impressed with the change.
Watched Detroit on the classic screen , most comfortable cinema viewing I've ever experienced, loads of leg room, great movie too !
Beautiful cinema with a great restaurant. It's not just a place to watch a movie, it's old style showmanship too. The staff are courteous and welcoming.
Great old school cinema. Small main screen. Good sound
Beautiful welcoming cinema with awesome mixtures of films and events.
Lovely independent cinema in Newcastle City Centre. Great films, restaurant and coffee shop.
Iconic independent cinema in the centre of town. Lovely place to watch the latest blockbusters and also left field films that you won't find anywhere else.
Amazing independent venue full of interesting films, the occasional block buster, and great food and drink.
The classic screen is my favourite, but everything about this place is great, the atmosphere, the bar, the films.
Great atmosphere and range of movies shown. The bar cafe is really cool place to hang out.
This cinema is so disappointing. They were subsidised by the EU, by the Newcastle council and by people like me.. I personally hoped to see many unusual films from abroad. This is not the case. In the whole month of January this year, not More
Good cinema, great building. Better staff training needed on box office and in bar though.
