Amazing hotel with beautiful, extensive grounds and great facilities. Food was a bit of a let down though, they couldn't manage a soft boiled egg after 4 attempts...a shame given how wonderful everything else is. Had it at 4* but now More

Tylney Hall is a lovely place to see. You can eat, drink, stay in beautiful accommodation and even get Married in the Chapel with a great Party. Capability Brown landscape the beautiful grounds. A place you have to go
A very nice hotel. Food was perfect in every aspect but what made the stay so special was the staff. Every single one of the team made me feel welcome and wanted at the hotel. They will go above and beyond to make your stay special.
Really a magnificent property, with acres and acres of park. Two pools, both heated one inside and one out. A victorian style palace, with lot's of history. I am glad Hyatt took over the property, so many people can enjoy it.
Amazing setting and fabulous massages buy a chilly, weak jacuzzi and mediocre lounge menu food stops me from visiting too. Service also very slow. Expect to. Wait at least 40mins on a quiet day for a sandwich. Stunning grounds and lovely outdoor pool though. Lisa's massages are heavenly.
Wonderful location with 66 acres of parkland to wander round. Indoor/outdoor pools and spa Helpful staff and if you stay in the main house generous rooms sympathetic to the era of the house We went to an Opera Event which was well attended and a wonderful evening, 4 course meal included Although a little on the expensive side well worth it
We just went for drinks but the bar was very refreshing and it was very ambient. Compared to the Four Seasons is very cheap and value for money. What are they doing work on hotel I thought there was a ghost and the ceiling was going to collapse but it's just a man with a drill. The waitress was very attentive.
We went for afternoon tea. We were assured that the hotel catered for children. We had a friendly welcome and walked around the beautiful grounds before heading into the house for our afternoon tea. The food was lovely. We were a little disappointed that no options were offered for the children and we asked for more sandwiches as we had shared them with the children to be told that the kitchen was too busy and it would not be possible to have more. The children's high chairs were too small for a nearly 3 year old and we struggled with the 6 month old due to the highchairs having no straps. Trying to get the attention of the waiting staff for help, questions etc proved difficult as they were rarely in the room and then proceeded to have conversations in French around the guests. Overall a good quality of afternoon tea, let down by lack of children's facilities and the waiting staff. I wouldn't return for afternoon tea here.
A beautiful Victorian house converted into a hotel. You can visit to spend a pleasant afternoon with friends and enjoy a cup of tea. It is located next to the Thamesis river which offers a calm and beautiful view of the river.
Friendly staff, good food (if expensive), but extremely uncomfortable overnight stay! Stayed in room 67 around the courtyard area on 27th Jan 2017 and the heating was cranked up to such a degree we had to open all the windows and have the fan on maximum all night, but it was still too hot! Bed was too hard, misshapen, old and squeeky. My wife and I were really uncomfortable and certainly didn't get the relaxing overnight stay away from the kids we were looking forward to! I would recommend this place for food and leisure activities, but not for an overnight stay! We will not be returning! Mr Bowles
Tylney hall is a really unique experience.. the hotel is grand and opulent with a very warm welcome from the staff. There is the main mansion (where we stayed) and also a selection of cute and private villas. Upon walking around I wish we stayed in a villa!! But our room in the main mansion was so nice also.. very clean and mostly modern with some quirks. The old wood windows actually open which is a cool feature, and we had a great view of the surrounding landscape. The grounds of the hotel are definitely the shining feature - VERY well maintained through a program of rehabilitation and there is just so much to see.. I would recommend really taking some time and just wandering the paths around. There are also amenities like a pool, massage areas, sauna, tennis courts, the main restaurant/bar, and other nice areas to keep you mostly busy. We only stayed one night but I would have loved to stay a week! They DO have room service but it is very expensive and honestly wasn't amazing.
Only criticisms I can think of would be on the grounds - it would have been nice to see more signage and placards explaining the various areas in better detail as some of them were just unexplained which loses some of the magic/interest. A better site plan/map would have also been nice - the one they have is decent, but it could use some improvements both functionally and graphically.
Overall I LOVED my time here and would definitely come back.. it is really something else!
My daughter, Cathryn and her fiance Tom, married here on Saturday 21st April and it was the most wonderful and magical experience. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff, helpful, polite, experienced, and in truth, amazing. They made us all feel like royalty, and a big thank you to Gary, the wedding organizer, you did a brilliant job.
5 stars doesn't do it justice. I'm awarding it 7 stars. Out of this world. Probably my most enthusiastic review of the year so far. Blown away by the place!
The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are stunning and the staff very attentive. The outside pool is heated and relaxing and the massage therapist is great.
Very nice old school hotel. Don t expect fancy modernised rooms here, just the traditional rooms. The lounge is nice to relax in on any evening and the outdoor pool is great. The gym however, is in need of desperate modernisation
Some major issues when staying here. We stayed in the orangery supposedly an upgrade but the room was extremely dated, it looked like an old people's home! The air conditioning was broken, a big problem on the hottest weekend of the year, it was like a sweat lodge. We asked staff and they said it was broken for months and wouldn't be fixed.
Breakfast was included but was a mess, booking a time and still waiting to get a seat then long waits to get any food, servers didn't seem to know what was going on as different people came to take the same order 3 times. The breakfast food itself was not great either.
Similar story at the terrace, we were waiting for over an hour just get a drink and some food, had to give the same order multiple times, no one knew what was going on.
Some positives: the grounds are stunning and beautifully maintained, the gardens are lovely to walk through.
Had dinner in the oak restaurant which was excellent, only meal where we didn't have issues ordering and the food was really delicious.
Overall not all terrible but some big problems, for the price you wouldn't think you would have these kinds of issues, I wouldn't go back.
Having had several afternoon teas here in the past and been very impressed, when I visited recently for an important family birthday afternoon tea the service was very bad, understaffed and feeble offerings and we dared to ask for more!, took an age for the drinks to arrive and be replenished I could have driven home and made a flask and a few sarnies in the time it took them to make us some more - we were only allowed 5 finger sarnies each and reaching accross the table to get some milk and tea, tiny pots between us a shortage of milk too I tipped my sarnies on the floor, couldn't bear to ask for any more. Not enough of anything had to ask for more all the time - it was embarassing, such a dissapointment - I don't think they cater so well for larger groups 5 or 6 is probably stretching it for them, a cold wintery day with no fires lit. A rather sad show I'm afraid contrasting starkly with the superb experience I've had here in the past.
Super nice hotel in the style that completely fits as if you relive former times. Very nice large room with all amenities. Coffee and tea and bottled water available. In the evening your bed will be opened, remote control TV and breakfast card will be laid out and you can opt for a morning newspaper that is neatly placed in front of your door. Breakfast extensive and good with sandwiches, a la carte hot dishes, salmon, fruit and toast. Golf course next to the hotel, fitness and swimming pool. Great stay.
Proper old school hotel, very posh with massive gardens and woodland, lakes, patio squares, an outdoor pool, tennis courts, snooker table, indoor pool and sauna. Very spacious rooms and friendly and professional staff. Only disappointment was that I could not connect to the wifi in my room, and since you don't get phone signal there you are cut off from being contactable!
Beautiful setting and exterior. Unfortunately the interior and the service were completely uninspiring. My room smelled like a retirement home that was smoked in for decades. Management insisted it wasn't a smoking room but it smelled so awful I had trouble sleeping. Three requests for air freshener were met with ambivalence from staff. Staff was similarly ambivalent to other requests. I would avoid this hotel if at all possible in the future.
Wonderful building and gardens, superb venue. But the food was pretty uninspired except for the prices which were absolutely ridiculous. Tip to the hotel- reduce the number of flavours per dish and if you are going to serve mint sauce give the diners some space - lets face it there are acres of space! Pity, glorious setting, nice staff but a massive rip off.
My friend and I booked an afternoon tea for a Sunday afternoon on advice on my friend who came several times here and was never disappointed. However, we had such a bad service that I will personally not go back there. We were the first one More
A truly wonderful place landscape design by Capability Brown over 150 year's ago. Lovely for a weekend stay and enjoy the ambiance and quality service.
This place is a must it is absolutely beautiful, staff are wonderful ,i will 100% go to stay there again, had an amazing afternoon tea. Loads to do check it out!
Tylney Hall Hotel is stunning!! The building itself is beautiful, elegant, vast and full of history. The grounds are also vast, mature and immaculately kept! Honestly amazed at how beautiful the gardens and surroundings are. The service is of a very high standard but with a lovely warmth and welcoming tone. All the staff have been so lovely and are all fantastic. A very special thank you to Cecile who has looked after us the last few days, ensuring we are enjoying our stay, remembering details about us, for example where we chose to sit the day before and that we would like the vegan menu, organising the open fires to be lit if sitting near by etc. Cecile makes you feel at home and provides a service second to none. The spa indoor pool and hot tub is lovely and warm and kept in very good condition.
Five stars as it's a really nice place; I went there for a wedding and it was ideal as a venue. Ridiculously expensive though, apparently. Everyone said the bar prices were high, too, though I didn't think so. The food was that poncey stuff you get in celebrity-chef restaurants; give me simple, wholesome food any day.
So OK, five stars for the overall posh ambience, but it wouldn't have been my choice.
Amazing hotel, beautiful grounds and fantastic food. I went with Blind Veterans to a reunion and we had a wonderful day. The staff at the hotel are the very best. For me with sight loss, to have a layout such as this Hotel has and staff who pay such attention to detail in all they do made the day amazing. From the moment I entered there it was as if the hotel itself were giving me a hug and even though I had never been before I felt safe enough to relax and let my cane guide me. Believe me that feeling is not the norm. It reminded me of days gone by at the Hilton and the Dorchester Hotels. Where nothing was too much for all who entered them.
great hotel, amazing gardens , lovely rooms, and facility's. unfortunately the restaurant lets it down roast potatoes that weren't very roasted, and toast that wasn't toasted when paying top whack there is no room for error
Excellent hotel with lovely grounds and gardens, plenty to explore each season, had our wedding hear and always brings back great memories of the day when we visit. Afternoon tea is especially good, nice for a treat out.
Appalling customer service. My sister's new cashmere coat was taken by one of the barmen in order to be left in the coat room. The coat was missing at the end of the night and they have refused to take responsibility. They have been regular customers for the past 10 years and her husband has hosted many corporate evenings there but they will never go back because of the way they have been treated.
Lovely elegant surroundings. Enjoyed the afternoon tea but a fresh plate and cutlery would have been desirable when eating dessert after the sandwiches. Plus being asked if we would like further tea or other refreshments would have been appreciated. Overall it was an enjoyable afternoon and the jazz music made it special.
Great tea experience with delicious sandwiches and desserts. Staff was very attentive and friendly. They even asked what the special occasion was and brought a lovely dessert with congratulations note written with chocolate on the plate. A very thoughtful gesture!
Appalling service - waited 20 minutes for a salad which they got wrong, then another 40 minutes for the same salad that they got wrong again. I then called the reception and they said they would call me back. 20 minutes later, no news, I call back and they want another 15 minutes for the salad.
Great customer service. Some of the rooms have been recently refurbished to a very high standard. Ample gardens to walk through during your stay, including a water garden. The food is of a good standard and well priced.
I have often been to this hotel. It is difficult to describe the atmosphere which is typical of the English countryside. Rooms distributed between main building, garden and courtyards. Pool and gym available.
Nice building, decent enough bedrooms with comfortable beds, beautiful as a wedding venue (especially as my cousin's was lucky enough to be in the snow - just stunning!), good service, very attentive staff, decent breakfasts. Had a very pleasant 2 night stay.
Beautiful grounds but some rooms a little dated, food was okay but poor for the price and the staff were a mixed bag some nice but untrained while others a bit disinterested.
Service at breakfast pretty dreadful... terribly slow and food almost cold when it arrives. Stayed here 4 times now and always the same. The building and environment is super pretty, rooms comfortable and warm.
Right let me Start by saying the good points . We stayed last week for three nights with my dog . Lovely hotel friendly helpful staff . Rooms in the courtyard very spacious and nice .having the heated pool Outside was amazing , especially as it was nice weather . The grounds are exceptional (the thing the sells this hotel . Unfortunately the price does not reflect the service in some areas . The pool and the area was very dirty with bird poo as you get into the pool The pool Was full Of leaves and flies . Also was a big clump Of hair which was complained about and the member of staff kicked It over onto the grass . . Appalling service when the staff are standing around on there phones ! The bin area by the pool was terrible overflowing with rubbish and dirty glasses and was like that when we arrived and when we left no one had done anything . Cleaning of the rooms wasn t great . I said to the reception team you are charging for services you are not adhering to . Rated a five star I would give it three ! Prices are far to expensive and you also Get a very high service charge on top of your bill . It s such a shame because it could be an amazing place . Just a few areas they need to address. Overall a lovely stay but cleanliness and hygiene needs to be addressed .
Pretty amazing classic English experience. It's like walking into the set of Downton Abbey. The buildings, grounds, and furnishings are beautiful. The staff were incredibly kind to this bumbling American. This is a place I would bring my ride on vacation.
Amazing museum. You could easily spend hours here without getting bored. It's amazing for adults and kids. Will definitely be visiting again when in Warsaw.
Bit chilly by the windows. Staff seemed too busy to pay us much attention, had to ask for sugar for the coffee. Otherwise beautiful environment and good afternoon team.
Beautiful building, lovely service and the spa was great! Highly recommend the Spirulina body wrap - our therapist was Hollie who was great. The only let down was the burger which isnt good for the price.
Great hotel and wonderful stay for a family Birthday. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. We came with a young baby and they provided a cot which was very helpful.
