I love this place. The staff from concierge to waiters were all so polite and helpful. We were served by Alexio and Richard recently to their jazz afternoon tea. They were so good and catered to my friend's food allergy n prepared specially the sandwices just for her. It was lovely the waiter asked if we would like to replenish our sandwiches but it was sufficiently enough . I been coming here over 13 years for their high tea. Would be nice maybe a twist of difference next year maybe add turkey n cranberry sandwiches too? The jazz music was good. We love the Christmas decorations. As we were in a rush we didn't get to walk around the grounds to check out the Christmas lights outside. Will defo be back again before new year unless we are in lockdowns again
Keep up the good work.

It's a hotel of 2 extremes. We stayed in a garden room, very large and clean but in need of refurbishment. The bed however was very comfortable. The staff in the bar and dining room at night were excellent, very attentive. The food at dinner was outstanding, we enjoyed a wonderful meal. It was let down at breakfast. A buffet breakfast is offered but we had to ask if that was the case. We asked for eggs from the kitchen and ended up with a comedy of errors like being at Faulty Towers. The service at breakfast made it feel like we had woken up in a different hotel. The gardens and setting are beautiful, not sure if I would stay again.

A short-notice work trip brought me to Tylney Hall as it had a swimming pool and I fancied a swim. It turned out it had 2 swimming pools, a hot tub, and a sauna. I went in all of them prior to eating at the Oak Room restaurant, sitting at a table which through one window I could see the outdoor pool I had been splashing about in thirty minutes earlier. Through the other window I could watch the colony of cuddly bunnies hop about the front lawn (um, more of a tree-lined runway which became softly floodlit as the sun went down). So far that day I had enjoyed a lemon tea and a Whopper and hadn t planned on much more but when the menu landed on the table, professionally like the rest of the service, I decided it was acceptable to gorge myself.

So I did. The menu was highly considered with just enough options to keep you happy but not too many to dampen the impression of the chef s direction. I went darkside and ordered the foie-gras and duck breast cubes for starter and then a lump of very local venison for main. I love a bit of sauternes with exploded goose liver but nothing suitable was on the list by the glass (work trip remember) but Francesco, hero sommelier, pulled out a small bottle of highly botyrytistic chenin blanc that accompanied the silky smooth foie-gras admirably. The glass of rioja crianza landed in good time just before the venison wrapped in pancetta and there followed a mild epiphany for this reviewer, as he sat there in surroundings both sumptuous and ornate, made both by mother nature and some very clever humans, and had a moment. I suspect it might be something mindful as I hear a lot about that nowadays and think it is about relaxing and losing yourself to the moment so to truly enjoy it and not go bonkers-crazy through stress. Whatever it was that happened to me it was a moment of near perfect and bucolic calm. The type of emotional state that zen Buddhists likely strive for. It was epic.

I m back in my very large and perfectly tasteful room now, slightly rounder then before I left it for the Oak Room, and aglow with inner awesome.

I had two American tourists sitting behind me and if they were after the genuine English country estate experience they must have been loving it because I am English and I live in the country and I thought it was flipping brilliant. Location, architecture, history, quality, swimming pools, room, service, grounds, price, mindfulness , experience all spot on. I loved it. I love it. Go there, trust me, this is a very special hotel.

Historic and characteristic hotel. Very nice rooms and large like a small apartment. The outdoor pool is very beautiful. Spectacular and unique is the settlement within a park. Breakfast is very good. The staff is very kind and professional. To try! I returned in 2019 on two separate but close nights. The first night there was a small misunderstanding in reception as they could not find my reservation. Despite the criticality and the slight glimmer of sweat on the front of the receptionist, they managed to give me hospitality in a nice room with a bathroom on high floors. Crystal clear sky and beautiful contrast of colors towards the pool and garden. The dinners sitting on an armchair with natural light behind are very pleasant. The second evening I had a double booking instead. Staff more than 5 stars. Very funny and pleasant illustration of the structure during the transfer on an electric car. 5 stars full ... And I haven't tried spa and gym or pool yet. Don't miss it!

Fantastic hotel on a well kept grounds. Worth visiting to see the premise because it s truly stunning, however the service was very poor. We had to ask waiters twice for everything we ordered, room service was a complete disaster. Service was overall lacking and very slow. If you are looking for high quality service, this is not the place unfortunately.

Not your average hotel - the buildings and gardens are superb, with impressive public rooms and plenty of space. If you want something different, in a great location, definitely worth a try.

Lovely house and grounds. I went for afternoon tea but the food was a bit disappointing. The bread was a bit dry but the scones were nice and they did cater for our various dietary requirements.

An average experience. The location, building and gardens are superb. The facilities are in need of rejuvination, opening a window is a particularly stressful experience. Service is exceptionally poor considering the 4 star rating. We regularly waited 15 + minutes for drinks orders and a dinner reservation for 9pm we didn't get our starters until 10.05pm. Every food service was slow like this. Proceed with caution.

A magnificent beautiful building with old fashioned charm we were greeted with courtesy and warm welcome. We stay in the main building The room had magnificent view across the lawn to the long vista; We had booked a dinner for 7:30pm ; we had a delicious and beautifully presented dinner in charming Oak Restaurant where gentle piano music was playing in the background, attentive staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. We had another truly wonderful stay in this charming country setting and I would recommend Tylney Hall to anyone looking for quiet calm environment away from hassle and bustle of modern life.

Tylney Hall never fails to impress us every time we visit!. I went back for the first time since lockdown yesterday to celebrate my birthday with afternoon tea and the staff accommodated to our every need so graciously. When booking over the phone I asked if it were possible to have a table for 4 but for my sister and myself to be socially distanced from our more vulnerable parents. They laid out 2 beautiful tables in a perfect corner facing eachother and it couldn t have been more perfect. Every aspect of the afternoon tea was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are working so hard to adapt with corona in mind and I couldn t recommend that you visit more!

I was surprised how big the Hotel was. It is a difficult job being an old world hotel and fully up to date, but some things looked tired. The pool was pleasant but my wife said there were too many dirty towels in the women's changing rooms. Food was good, service generally attentive, and we had a great time

The afternoon tea, in my opinion, has declined in quality. The room with the pianist is sterile and unwelcoming. The pianist wasn't that great either. I would say avoid going on a Sunday and check which room you will be dining in.

Many good memories of stays at Tylney. Frequented here many times for both work and leisure events. Staff is very attentive. Rooms in the main building are both luxurious and spacious. Nothing quite as nice as having a drink in front of the large fireplace in the main hall before moving into the dining room for dinner. I'll sure to enjoy more visits in the future.

The place is lovely enough, beautiful old manor house. On arrival the car park is a walk away from the reception and it isn't clearly outlined if you are allowed to park closer. At the door there was no doorman and weren't really greeted. More

Lovely hotel, but the service at breakfast was very very
poor. Coffee was delivered cold, we had to ask several times for the toast we ordered. No milk came with the tea or coffee. Some of the breakfast staff seemed to require extra training in etiquette and basic service.

This was a lovely treat over the Easter weekend where we were able to take advantage of the outdoor pool, due to the glorious weather. This was lucky due to the indoor spa facilities being a bit tired and small. The jacuzzi fits three people maximum. The sauna facilities is away in the gender specific changing rooms, which meant I was not able to sit and enjoy with my partner. The lockers were falling off the hinges and the facilities are rather small. The indoor swimming pool is clean and inside a nice conservatory. Although all areas are clean, they are just old and could do with a facelift. The rest of the grounds are wonderful and well kept. The rooms are clean, comfortable and all staff memebers are AMAZING! I have given 4 star review due to the amazing weekend we had but this may have been a different case if it had been raining as I feel there would have been limited space.

Beautiful Rooms. I stayed 1 night in the main building and 1 night in a court yard room. Beautiful high ceilings in the main building and I love wooden panels. The court yard is more modern feel and has a relaxing water feature. I fully recommend walking around the gardens and grounds. Staff excellent. Food delicious. Overall had a very delightful stay.

Lovely hotel good service, and rooms are large and spacious. Unfortunately room 35 which I stayed in couldn't get any sleep because it sounds like a motor running in the loft space.

Hotel with a difference. Excellent service, beautiful authentic English decor, large lawns around with a gold course, tennis court, swimming pool etc. Their afternoon tea experience is superb. Highly recommended. Credit cards accepted. Ample free parking space available.

An absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. Everything about it is quintessentially English. We were upgraded to a suite, and the only one with a conservatory. The suite was fresh and very up to date. Afternoon tea, the breakfast and dinner the next evening were superb in cuisine with wonderful staff who worked so hard to make our stay a great one. Finally, make sure to check out the stunning grounds. They are a must.

Completely blown away! The team at Tylney Hall really made our experience that more special with the efforts they went to. The mansion itself is beautiful! Especially if you enjoy strolls along picturesque grounds. Everything from the Decor to the food is a solid 10/10!

Thank you again to everyone at Tylney Hall, we will most definitely be returning.

The overall environment is very comfortable and comfortable, the hotel staff is very comfortable and makes you feel like a holiday. This year's hot British room is not air-conditioned, the whole room can not be said to be old but acceptable, breakfast is a bit simple

This place has declined recently to a level that I vow never again visit or recommend, not only was the attitude of the staff generally apathetic

the gross lack attention to detail and quality of food and service was frankly an embarrassment. I have seen better presentation and value for money at a local Nando's.

If you're looking for high-quality service and excellent food, do yourself a favour, save a lot of frustration and look elsewhere.

The grounds are absolutely lovely; the pool is a nice area and the water garden is great to walk around. For the price, I was expecting more from the rooms. The service is a bit of a let down; it's slow and disorganised.

In short, lovely setting, let down a bit by the actual hotel elements.
