Delightful hotel and the most beautiful gardens and superb outdoor pool. The staff were great and we ll definitely be back. The decor in the room was getting old and tired but for the price I think it was right and I m sure there are better rooms when you pay a bit more.

Went for a meal. It the past it has been a special treat. Tonight's meal was the first time I have ever had to send a meal back as it was too salty to eat. To be fair the brought me another meal but no one came out to apologise, no one offered my a free glass of wine. It fact no one came and asked me how was the meal and if i'd like another glass of wine. All in all the oak room at Tylney hall had lost all the special pageantry and class the made it some where to take friends and family.
Food options were quite limited. When I ordered a bottle of wine they brought a different vineyard and year. When I questioned them about it they sent over someone who gave a really poor excuse 'its basically the same quality as the one I ordered - its just the supplier sometimes puts in something else'. What is this - Sainsbury's click and collect??
Not happy been to this lovely hotel before to celebrate our birthdays and enjoyed It very much which is why we came back. This time there was no room in the restaurant for us to have dinner. Really if you book into a 4 star or any hotel you expect that you can eat dinner in the restaurant and not end up with a salad on your lap in the lounge. They have in small print best to reserve a seat in the Oak Room!!! So why didn't anyone tell us that or ask us if we wanted a table when we booked our booking! ARGH! Really really not happy we spent this money to stay here to have a little luxury, sitting in a lounge with it on a small table is not good enough.
We really enjoyed our 2-night stay here. Beautiful outdoor spaces. We walked with the dog for an hour or so everyday and the territory is beautiful. Lovely outdoor pool area especially if the weather is nice. Good tennis and golf facilities, although we haven t used them.
Rooms not the most modern but pretty spacious and clean.
Friendly and attentive service, we felt very welcome here.
The food was unexpectedly delicious and they had a tasty vegan dinner (I was even given vegan butter with my bread a very nice touch) menu for me and my wife said that the usual menu was good as well.
Some parts of the territory could be touched up a bit more though.
If you want to impress the girlfriend this is great any time of year. Romantic walks, especially up the tower for a spectacular view. Just watch the cleanliness of the silverware as this does not appear to be important. Also sometimes stale bread slips through. Sometimes hard to get staffs attention.
Afternoon tea was lovely, when we arrived reception told us where to go,then a waiter told us to wait and he will show us to where we were sitting, after 5 mins we decided to sit down, then 5mins later waiter came back ,he said sorry ladies then replied that he would have to sanitiser the area because we sat down, we both suffer with back problems, it made us feel uncomfortable and that we shouldn't of sat down.Gardens were beautiful but no flowers planted anywhere, also no flowers in the hotel, probably due to virus situation.
Fell far short of its 4 star rating. If you want afternoon tea you have to order well in advance but they don t tell you when booking, which is one of the main reasons of our stay.
The hotel staff i must say were very good but please save your hard earned cash and book elsewhere.
Wow, what a super place, a fabulous historic building set in a beautifully kept park with lakes and gardens. We had a birthday celebration lunch which consisted of really delicious gourmet food served by the best trained staff I've ever witnessed. Considering the quality and the number of staff floating around the bill was very reasonable.
Despite its beautiful setting and grounds, the service is dire. Takes way too long to order food and drinks and some of the rooms are looking very tired. Not particularly good value for money. They need more staff for busy periods.
Very nice and well kept hotel... Pool area was very nice but we had to change rooms as the one we got put into was damp and not within the main hotel...
Drinks were overpriced but nice and the actual hotel was immaculate..
Just off the A30, near Hartley Wintney, a stately home style hotel in expansive grounds, at the luxury end of the scale. We attended for one of their 'Afternoon Teas'; the ones on a three tiered cake stand, with finger sandwiches, scones, jam and cream, and fancy cakes. All done very nicely, served by very pleasant and helpful staff. Very comfortable low tables and armchairs. Opportunity to walk in the garden and grounds before and after tea made it a very pleasant and memorable afternoon visit. Friends who have stayed overnight also speak highly of their experience. Much recommended.
The hotel is very nice and in summer it must look stunning. The room was spacious, clean and nicely furnished. The staff very attentive and helpful. Our only criticism was we were unable to use the bar due to a wedding, all other tables reserved for afternoon tea & no alternatives put in place for guests staying here.
Today was my second visit for afternoon tea and my experience was no different from the first. Although it is a beautiful venue the service was slow. It took 30min for the pot of tea to arrive and another 15min for the cake and sandwiches More
Staff enormously courteous and helpful, food VERY well cooked and delicious, grounds lovely and spa treatments very good too. All told a lovely place to spend a weekend
Beautiful place beautiful park and gardens stretching for miles nice service and very helpful. Room my very nice but very hot it is not possible to radiate radiators but it is possible to open the door from the balcony
Aww man, where do I start. This was perhaps the most amazing hotel I've stayed in. Probably only good for short stays given the location, but what a location. The staff are excellent as was the food. Room was a bit hot but massive. The drinks and food are pretty expensive but Tesco is only 7 mins away for a bottle of wine. It's a must stay!
Perfect service, gorgeous food, secluded in the Hampshire countryside, but close enough to easily get there. Perfect for special occasions, like a mystery drive to a surprise Birthday treat.
A beautiful and very traditional British land house (mansion!) with beautiful rooms and very pleasant atmosphere. Doesn't get much more British than this really. Friendly staff and proper service. Splendid environment with large patches of green surroundings. All in all just a brilliant experience. Felt like being a guest in the Adams family house!
Beautiful location. We had a really nice weekend. Staff were lovely but service was mixed. Concierge excellent. Food excellent. Waiting staff, especially at breakfast, seemed very stressed and disorganised, hence service was slow. Phoning reception or reservations was also very difficult - put on hold for long periods.
We love Tylney Hall. The service has gone downhill although management is good and there is no longer the lovely smell of waxed wood. It wouldn't stop us going back but something has certainly changed
Attended today as part of the open garden day and took the opportunity to walk through the beautiful grounds. A lovely morning and with some great local suppliers meaning the kids took part in a tree climb and we purchased some delicious local produce - artisan breads and a watercress gin. Super event, well organised and with access to both the grounds and hotel it was a few hours very well enjoyed. Thank you
Beautiful hotel. Went for a celebration tea and had a lovely day. Comfortable seating and attentive staff. The food was good and had a good selection of sandwiches and light bites.
Had afternoon tea with my wife. We were fortunate to have a nice day so asked to sit outside. Beautiful grounds at Tylney so we wanted to make the most of them. Food and service was excellent and we had a fantastic time :)
Very dated feel to the rooms and the majority of the buildings. The spa facilities were very poor, cold pools and Jacuzzi, no steam room and separate sauna for men and women (both absolutely tiny). However the grounds and the buildings looked very pretty with pleasant walks to go on. Restaurant food was good, glad we had pre-paid for food as prices were astronomical. Breakfast left a little to be desired. Overall was a nice getaway but I would not recommend this for a spa break
What a lovely visit. The staff were warm and friendly. Gardens beautifully kept. Dinner was great and the interior was immaculate and comfy. Thanks you Tylney Hall - we hope to be back
I never tire of visiting Tylney Hall. This particular visit was a really special one as my partner proposed to me on our last visit as we overlooked the lake at the bottom. Best day ever.
I have so many hapoy memories here and this Just tops the lot.
Staff are incredibly helpful. They will always try to accommodate you and make your stay special.
Wonderful menu. Great drinks selection.
Rooms are so spacious. They are dog friendly and make your pooches feel very welcomed. They even do a welcome package for the pooches.
Not a place, we will be returning to . Our experience wasn't a delightful one . On our appearance to the hotel we were treated well . We were taken to the hall , where we were greeted by another member of staff, who showed us to our seats. ( a sofa ) right next to the exit door of that hall . Me now getting un happy with this, Sat down then given a booklet with different types of teas Waited and waited ,to be asked what we would like tea wise order taken . Some time later food arrived. 10minutrs later our pot of tea arrived. This sums it up not a happy guest
Nice afternoon. Usually take tea in the library but they had a couple of guys playing tunes which was nice. Sandwiches a bit dry but the Patisserie was delicious. Gingerbread macarons sublime. Such a lovely hotel. Staff fabulous.
We were in the rooms that allowed dogs, and there was food and bedding provided for our pet, but the room itself was a little run down. Although the hotel is dog friendly, you are not allowed to bring you dog anywhere near the main mansion house - which is understandable. Our meal in the restaurant on the Saturday night was tasty, but the service, although courteous and friendly, was rather slow. Sunday breakfast was another story completely. The buffet was empty, and so we and the guests at the table next to us, ordered off the menu. It took 45min to receive a cold hot breakfast, and all of us did not get what we ordered. As in the restaurant, we found all the staff courteous, helpful, and wearing friendly smiles. The grounds are beautiful, and the surrounding areas are wonderful. We walked to a nearby dog friendly pub for lunch, which was really good. All in all it was a good getaway, only let down by the breakfast.
One night stay for a business meeting tv's following day. Didn't get to use all of the hotels services as a result. Staff were very helpful, rooms were massive and general hotel architecture and decor was stunning. Room decor was slightly tired and bathroom a little cramped.
Tylney Hall is a little pricey however as we were having a wedding there in the small and cosy Newnham Suite, we negotiated a longer stay in the Duke Suite which bought the price in to satisfactory levels. A beautiful location, superb service and a lovely afternoon tea. Beautiful in the summer but snuggly buggly in the winter with the open fires
Lovely property and grounds but a little disappointed with the service. Initially the room was not ready when we wanted to check in. Went to get a drink from the bar and were informed that table service was in place. Took a seat 5 yards More
I went to the hotel to use the meeting rooms. It is a lovely location and very professional in a traditional environment. The service and food was also very good.
One of the nicest hotels and gardens in the area. Won't be disappointed. On a nice summers day, strolls through the gardens and a nice aperol spritz will have you mesmerized.
This is a lovely place and this review is based on restaurant dining only. Also we ate here as vegetarians so that is how we based the rating.
You certainly can t fault the greeting and also the dining area is lovely with lots of space around the tables. Lovely service and the quality of the food was lovely. However the choice for vegetarians is limited with only two choices each for starter and main. Add in the fact that cauliflower soup and cauliflower risotto where in the menus it restricted it even more as you would t want to have Cauliflower overload. Dessert was perfect and it was a lovely evening. Wish we could have have chilled in the lounge as it looked amazing but lacked time.
A beautiful mansion hotel with wonderful gardens. Have stayed there and also had afternoon tea. Staff are superb. Will definitely go again for a special occasion.
The rooms are good. However the staff is not very enthusiastic as they should be. Also the vegetarian food there is not very good, I was served a risotto and I junk it was the worst risotto I have ever had in my life. I did not have a good experience one other time where they served only half a portion of the breakfast ordered in room service, and the food was late to arrive.
