Room and hotel great.

Room and hotel great.
Now the buts for a venue of this type charging the premium price I would expect people in bars/restaurants to be able to understand English and know when the bar is open. Only have one bar open that's ok if your not a beer drinker as the only draught beer is in the closed bar (bottle beer isn't any were near as good to the beer monster) we will drink wine but quietly suffer.
2 biscuits in room at these prices 6 I think would be a better number.
Bath robes way to small.

Its a managerial problem staff all very perlite and do as they're told, the management need to have a rethink this place could be one of the best.

Great location. Lovely rooms. Food was amazing and the gardens are excellent. Had a great stay. The staff are all very good, helpful and polite. Really was a great birthday treat. I requested dairy free milk for the room. Flowers and chocolate strawberries which were all lovely.

A definite destination and special occasion venue. The grounds are magnificent and the Sunday lunch menu beautifully presented and cooked. We were there for my mothers 90th birthday lunch and the service was extremely attentive, as one might expect, without being cloying or obsequious. Saving up for another visit and probably a stay over in the hotel.

Food saved the stay.

Room 40 that we stayed in had old sweets stuck under bed, being put in a room above the kitchen all we heard was the extractor fans until the kitten closed down, then at 6.15 boom back on.

Spoke with reception on way out to be told sorry about that. This is our 4th time staying here and am I afraid our last. Would have had a better night's sleep in a travelodge.

Food was outstanding, we had the afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast.

This is a former country house converted into a hotel. Our room was great. Comfortable bed, bath, shower, fruit and even chocolates on the bed at night. Really excellent staff, well trained and professional. The food is good. We had the 3 course dinner and breakfast. Not a cheap option but one to have if you want to spoil yourself.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable with surprisingly good sound insulation given that we were over the entrance with a rowdy wedding party below! Most staff were friendly if sometimes oblivious to your path cutting in front of you, but More

Tell anyone that you're going to a hotel near Basingstoke for a romantic break & most people will ask you why. They don't know what they're missing out on.

I had planned an event as a surprise for my wife that was due to take place in Basingstoke. It therefore made sense for me to book a room at least for one night. Once I started looking at prices & locations (some hotels looked like they were on industrial sites) I decided to pay a little more & use the hotel stay as a smokescreen for the real treat.

I got a good deal through Expedia &, whilst it was on the higher end of what I would expect for a room for a couple of days, the photos looked enticing.

I was not disappointed. Excellent friendly service, large, clean rooms & lovely surroundings (Basingstoke is now a beautiful place in my mind). My wife said she would have been happy with the time at the hotel alone.

The hotel is only 5 - 10 minutes away from Basingstoke by car, & yet it seems like it is in the heart of the countryside a million miles from anywhere.

If you need to stay in the local area, or if you simply want to get away from the rat race for a few days, you won't be disappointed with this hotel.

What a stunning place!! Had my firms xmas party there last weekend. Absolutely brilliant. Disco was ace with a throughly comprehensive list of tunes played. Food really tasty, staff very accomodating and organised.

Disappointing - booked 2 nights, plus valentine meal, plus valentine dinner and dance. Not impressed when they stuck us in a courtyard room, furthest away, outside in the wet and wind! Not in the hotel as we expected. Gave priority to one night bookings in actual hotel main building. They did move us 2 phone calls later, after we made a fuss, but it shouldn't have come to that. Valentines dinner and dance food not tasty, and band not memorable. Photo booth in the evening was the best part, and the breakfast. Definitely will not return.

Such a gorgeous place, you can really imagine taking a turn about the garden with Mr Darcy. Luxurious accommodation, a great menu, extremely well executed, a varied wine list and fabulous afternoon tea. It's a real treat to visit Oakley Hall and I seek out excuses to go back!

Lovely location and a great room. Service for afternoon tea was not great (had to ask twice for more tea. Service at the bar was very good and had a couple of very good cocktails. Dinner service was ok but there was no bread while waiting for food. Cookef breakfast was good but the continental selection was a bit limited. Overall a very pleasent stay which could have been improved with a bit more attention to some finer details.

Had a fabulous stay at the Oakley hall for mums birthday! The staff were all very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay even better. Nice little touches with a hand written birthday card and chocolates. Champagne in our room on arrival and a cake and candle after afternoon tea! Weather was perfect to explore the beautiful grounds. Will definitely be staying again.

Had the champagne afternoon Tea and although the food was good the service was very poor, once we were seated none of the 3 waiters visited our table to see if we were happy. I had half of one sandwich and some pastries 1 glass of champagne would not return.
