Diner with high quality food, great service and all day breakfast. Cali club is always delicious.
This place has been a favorite of mine for many, many years. I'm sad that it will be moving from this original location, but I look forward to going to its new location!
Usually love this place but came on a Thursday morning for my daughter's birthday and they were less than accommodating. Super disappointing that they made us wait over 30 minutes because they only had ONE table that fits 7 guests? I've never heard such things. Most places would make room since that many guests would mean more $$. Not going back there anymore
Great classic diner with a modern sensibility! Glad to check it out right before it moves. I feel I will miss it after visiting only 2 or 3 times.
Fun, clean, great variety and friendly service. What else can you ask for?
If you can, visit during Lobster Fest!
The service and Breakfast were excellent and most Delicious, would I return absolutely. I am so glad I came ,hadn't been here since high school.
This place had a large menu with American food like hambergers and old fashion shakes. I had the root beer float and they later offered me more root beer for my float which was a nice surprise.
Often crowded with wait lists, but there's a reason! Such a good menu, you'll have to go back again and again to eat all the things
The food here has always been great. It is a diner style restaurant with better quality food. They have great egg's Benedict along with a great Greek omelette. The burgers are all good ( try the stinko) and they are famous for the their onion rings. I have definitely enjoyed the salads and you must try the hit fudge sundae.
Twohey's is a go to restaurant for many many years. Always great food. Their St Patrick's plate is great! Tonite not so much. Always generous the corn beef was small pieces over a half of cabbage, like the bottom of the pan. The meat was so salty, I took two small bites and that was enough. I ordered a mini sundae and could not believe the $5.75 price! I'll miss twohey's when they close but after tonight not that much.
I love the all American vobe and yummy food. The bittersweet sundaes and buttermilk pancakes!!!
Terrible, they served me burned pancakes . So I ordered waffles they did not bring any butter. The waffles were cold by then. I called the manager he never called me back.
Great dinner setting, with good service. Food is... good.
This was my second visit in three years. My waitress was pleasantly helpful and made it easy to choose . Serving was of clan chowder with a touch of curry was delightful it came with a very nice slice of choice corn bread , bread,or zucchini bread (which I chose)for under seven dollars. Waitress was fast and funny.
Super nice staff. Food just okay though, went as child often, went back for old times sake and was disappointed- omlete just okay, tiny portion of potatoes sad and toast just over butteted but well hard to mess up toast other than burning it. Oh and Bit o Honey $2. Wow!
Good service ..
Food was fabulous especially the mashed potatoes. .Friendly and fast. One of a kind diner!!
This is a local favorite, with a unique comfort food menu and 75 years of reputation to protect. Great food. Great staff. Beware the parking is a nightmare in the evenings due to the crazy In and out Burger next door that keep the parking lot they share full! This great iconic restaurant is about to move so check for the new location move in August of 2018.
Good place for nice get togethers. Sad to see them move after so many years in that location.
Great diner, very spacious the staff is accommodating and the food is delicious
It is just like I remember with the onion rings so delicious!!!! Nice new atmosphere, same good food.
Twoheys is a good place to eat. To bad it's closing down going to miss it
It was wonderful experiencie the Server with great customer Service skills. 5 stars for Gerardo
Loved the Trex Mex breakfast, and the service was excellent!!!
There moving to Fair oaks in Pasadena where Carmines use to be
So far it's good. Monte Cristo good! Cherry Coke good! Cali club good! Service good!
Mostly good food. Nice ambiance. Love the nostalgia.
Our server Karishma was THE BEST, she was patient with me as I asked a million questions about the menu and had all the right answers! Food was delicious too!
The outdoor eating area
Is nicely arranged. Didn't have to wait long to be seated. The menu had a variety of choices. Especially because I am a vegetarian. The food price is reasonable. Overall I am satisfied with service.
It was disappointing.
Food was not up to par.
It was the first time and last time.
Everyone was nice. That's what we appreciated.
Have been going here over 20 years. Love the zucchini bread and the sundaes
Went bike riding and stop for breakfast...delicious...I think the owner came out to greet everyone...have not seen that in a long time...try the breakfast burrito.
Good location now and the outdoor patio was great. 2nd day open and I'm sure they had to scramble just to get employees and product and get open, but the kitchen failed. I'm sure it will get better but the food was not the highlight.
They have moved to their new place yet try their sunday's they're the best
Poor service but good food. Really I go there for the sundaes.
My food was cold. Only thing warm were the pancakes. Didnt even get what we ordered.
Used to go there often 16 years ago until we moved. I looked it up and was excited to see Twoheys is still in Alhambra, and still serving the wonderful chopped salad. I hope to return someday.
Though you might not see tuna sandwich on the menu, ask. The catch of the day was so small, had to order tuna sandwich, too.
They are new to this location after moving from the Alhambra site. They do have "dine in" with heaters. Our server, Malinna, was friendly and efficient. Food was good, but coffee never got past luke warm.
An ever-exceptional experience. This is a wonderful local landmark. Will have to re-visit before they shutter this location. I really hope they can re-open soon in their new location.
Well prepared good and excellent service. I'll miss this location that I've enjoyed for 48 years.
My greatest consern is your onion rings!
Why does the person in charge of this most important part of Twohey's menu insist on including frying the "onion peelings" as part of that choice?!
Everything, including ours waitress, was perfect!
Great food and awesome waitress - the puns just kept coming - thank you!!
The service was horrible. I never got to eat, the waitress left me there. I told her I needed a minute, and she never came back. I got tired of waiting so I walked out. Prior to me arriving I called and asked about a wait for the counter, the young guy upfront answered the phone and was condescending. Very unprofessional. It's a shame that the service was horrible, I was looking forward to having the French toast. I'm sure it's delicious..
Overlooked by the 'burger place' next door. I will be THIS IS THE PLACE FOR BURGERS!!! What the hell people thinking?!? Smh
Great American diner. The food here is wholesome and plentiful and the staff are friendly. The steak I had here was really well cooked and whilst it wasn't the best steak I had, it was still very good. Cooked just how I wanted it, large and juicy. The clam chowder was very nice too.
They are moving to a new location so this review may change
I'm visiting from the east coast and the food was below mediocre, to say the least. The milkshake was good, however. I was highly disappointed.
Closed at historic Alhambra location in March 2019. Moving to new location in South Pasadena. Featured a traditional diner menu in a historic landmark in the corner of Alhambra. Food usually prepared correctly but service was very slow when busy. They had good-sized portions however prices were high for the food and drinks you got. Shared parking lot with In-N-Out so parking was bad when both were open. Moving to smaller location in South Pasadena on Fair Oaks near the old OSH, Sees Candy, Starbucks and FedEx Office.
Closing in February 2018. An institution. Great Sundaes, shakes and malts. My wife likes there hamburgers and onion rings. Pies and dessert are made on premise. Visit soon they close in a couple of months.
Nice outdoor seating and heat lamps. Food came quickly.
We met a famous rapper here this morning. Marko Penn. I had a shake and the cherry on top was from cherry pie filling.
Great food! Extensive menu offers something for everyone! A landmark in Alhambra! I've tried breakfast, hamburgers, and their generous salads and enjoyed each selection.
The lot is insanely overcrowded as it shares parking with In N Out.. and patrons park along the surrounding neighborhood for blocks! Worth the hike!
Always great food and friendly service. Sad that this location will be closing soon.
Too cold in there and their food is greasy nd no flavor...hmm..
This place is awesome. The server who served us is a super sweet lady. Food is great! I'm definitely going back.
Good food, breakfast and lunch chili size is a must try, and the sundaes, mm mm good. They are planning to relocate, but only 5 minutes away from this spot
Twohey's great food. The turkey burger is delicious and juicy while the sweet potato fries were thin, a little crunchy, and tasty. The root beer float was nice and refreshing. Service was okay though somewhat understandable since it was a busy lunch. My overall score is 3.5 of which .5 point down due to horrible parking. The parking lot shared with an In N Out restaurant.
Twohey's Restaurant: A Classic American Diner Experience
Since 1943, Twohey's Restaurant has been serving up classic American diner fare to families and friends in the San Gabriel Valley. With a menu that features burgers, onion rings, and bittersweet sundaes, Twohey's has become a beloved institution in Southern California.
The restaurant was founded by Jack Twohey and his wife Aileen. They started with a small ice cream shop in Pasadena before expanding to their current location in Alhambra. Over the years, Twohey's has become famous for its delicious food and friendly service.
One of the most popular items on the menu is the burger. Made with fresh ground beef and served on a toasted bun with all the fixings, it's no wonder why customers keep coming back for more. The onion rings are also a must-try – crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
But what really sets Twohey's apart from other diners is their bittersweet sundaes. These decadent treats are made with homemade hot fudge sauce that perfectly balances sweet and bitter flavors. And if you're feeling adventurous, try their signature dessert – The Little Stink-o – which is made with garlic ice cream!
In addition to their delicious food, Twohey's also offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. The restaurant is decorated with vintage memorabilia from its early days as an ice cream shop, giving it an old-school charm that can't be replicated.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends or family, Twohey's Restaurant is sure to satisfy your cravings for classic American diner fare. So come on down to Alhambra and experience this beloved institution for yourself!
