I have been going to Twohey s Restaurant for 30 years, the food is outstanding. The hot fudge sweet sundae is to die for.
The staff and servers are very professional, it is to bad that they are moving from Alhambra
to South Pasadena. But I will still go because I love their food and service. You must try their stink ol burger. Everything on the menu is very good.

Such a classic! What did we get? Hot dogs, yes, off the kids menu. Delicious, all meat on a tasty bun. Onion rings=they were good but I would have liked thicker breading and browned. It seemed like they were under cooked & under breaded because when I picked it up, it just flopped. For dessert, oh yes, hot fudge sundaes! Served in a tall sundae glass with whipped cream & cherry on top, it was perfection

Aging now, it's going to a new location up Fair Oaks, just above the freeway. This is a place that many of us have grown up with since it's been around since before I was born in '46. The Best onion rings I have ever had, and a bittersweet hot fudge sundae to die for--real, dense whipped cream, topped with toasted almonds and a pie cherry. Great burgers, too.

They've got great food, but the owner and general manager are not wearing their masks, putting everyone working there, everyone eating there, and anyone else they come into contact with in jeopardy. Follow the rules if you're going to open up, that's all I'm asking, this is stuff we learn to do in 1st grade.

They are known for their burgers, and ice cream desserts. I've had breakfast here at dinnertime and it was good! Thick bacon, tasty hashbrowns and orange marmalade. We had a party of 19 and we received good service. Read in the paper they were closing for good so we all decided to make an evening of it before it closed. As we ate our meal, we heard they found a new location and are moving to South Pasadena off Fair Oaks Avenue. Glad this place is not closing for good! (:

Been eating there for just over 10 years, and they have been in place for many decades. Sadly all things come to an end. They will be moving soon to a new location in South Pasadena. If you are looking for more information, then I suggest you check out their site. They have great union rings among many other taste treats, not to mention that their cooks actually know what a "rare" steak is for a change.

Man! I love this place! Great food...friendly staff...and the prices won't empty your wallet. Ordered a dessert once, that I didn't care for and when the server asked why, she sent the manager over. He refused to let me pay for it! I mean, I did order it, you know? There was nothing wrong with it. It just wasn't my thing. But he was adamant in not having me pay for it. Great customer service!

It's really too bad that this place is closing down. Our whole family, as well as a huge group of friends, has been going here for years - the yummy, cheap food is just perfect, and the environment of this coffee shop is as well. I hope that Twohey's legacy will live on with their Twohey's Tavern, but I haven't been there, so who am I to say anything?

I've been to Akbar a billion times and yet, never the Kitchen. A friend suggested we go and Im glad we did. First, the service is excellent. The host/owner was welcoming. I ordered a salad and calamari. My friend ordered the turkey burger. The salad was pretty good, but the calamari was delish! I had a taste of the turkey burger and it was moist and yummy. Fred, another owner, introduced himself and we had a short and sweet conversation. Im definitely coming back.

Great St Patrick's day. Started with a shot and a Guinness. Ended with some Poutine and a Turkey Dinner. Good value. Great waitress, Elva, was attentive and funny.. Owner came and talked to us after about our meal. Fun times.

Food was decent, but for the money I expect certain things. For example: the onion ring not to be served on a plate in a pool of oil. The Garlic Fries not to be soggy as though they were tossed in Butter or Oil. We ordered rootbeer floats to enjoy with our meal. Took 25 minutes to receive. Our server never greated us. The hostess took our drink order after 15 minutes at the table. Overall lack luster food for the price, and horrible service.

Have been eating at this California Classic since 1961. New surroundings, yet still delicious. You'll crave this eatery every time you pass by on Atlantic, Garfield or Huntington Drive. Yum!

The restaurant has its own parking spaces in a shared lot with another fast food restaurant. The restaurant serves beer and wine. This is a large full service restaurant with counter service or table seating. The menu is extensive breakfast served all day and daily specials. The prices are moderate and the service was very good.

Parking can be a challenge especially on the weekend. You're better off parking on the street. Food is really good and they have great specials. The staff is friendly but the food is a bit slow to come out. They have great choices for dessert and the diner looks 50'so style with a counter that has stools l.

About Twohey's Restaurant

Twohey's Restaurant: A Classic American Diner Experience

Since 1943, Twohey's Restaurant has been serving up classic American diner fare to families and friends in the San Gabriel Valley. With a menu that features burgers, onion rings, and bittersweet sundaes, Twohey's has become a beloved institution in Southern California.

The restaurant was founded by Jack Twohey and his wife Aileen. They started with a small ice cream shop in Pasadena before expanding to their current location in Alhambra. Over the years, Twohey's has become famous for its delicious food and friendly service.

One of the most popular items on the menu is the burger. Made with fresh ground beef and served on a toasted bun with all the fixings, it's no wonder why customers keep coming back for more. The onion rings are also a must-try – crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

But what really sets Twohey's apart from other diners is their bittersweet sundaes. These decadent treats are made with homemade hot fudge sauce that perfectly balances sweet and bitter flavors. And if you're feeling adventurous, try their signature dessert – The Little Stink-o – which is made with garlic ice cream!

In addition to their delicious food, Twohey's also offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. The restaurant is decorated with vintage memorabilia from its early days as an ice cream shop, giving it an old-school charm that can't be replicated.

Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends or family, Twohey's Restaurant is sure to satisfy your cravings for classic American diner fare. So come on down to Alhambra and experience this beloved institution for yourself!
