I love bookstores and this one is big from one side and cosy from another with little cafe (there is toilet on another floor which is important feature), helpfull personel and second hand books on last floor.

The true book mecca, it is the best that the Netherlands has to offer in this area. A pity is their horror catering, which has become sad, boring and unaffordable. Nevertheless, true reading happiness can be found here.
I have been coming here for years when I am in Amsterdam. An extensive collection in a beautiful building with friendly staff. In addition, on a rainy day it is always pleasant to stroll among the second-hand books, or to read a piece from your fresh book while enjoying a cup of coffee (available in the cafe). The only drawback is that I have experienced the service in the cafe several times indifferent / nonchalant / unmotivated. Nevertheless, a top tent!
Bookshop with the widest range I know in Amsterdam. Of course expensive compared to online competitors, so good if you cannot or do not want to order online.
Very good bookstore. An entire floor dedicated to English editions, and another floor for children's books. There are several seating groups in the bookstore to browse the employees' recommendations, and the coffee on the second floor is nice. Worth a visit
Beautiful bookstore with multiple floors, of new but also second hand books. Also just a nice building to visit and on the top floor a nice view over the city. A free toilet is also provided.
I usually love bookstores and end up exiting with a stack of books I didn't know I needed. Curiously, here's a bookstore where you don't like to linger, mainly due to a sterile interior reminiscent of a hospital and with very few books on display. Makes very little effort to persuade people back from buying books online.
Wide selection of books spread across multiple floors. A lot of second-hand books on the last floor.
My only issue is some of the English books are mixed with the Dutch ones, so you have to sift through all of them. There are some dedicated English-only sections though.
I went there last Sunday with my wife, to have a cup coffee, tea, and try their chocolate pie while browsing through the selection of books. Really nice place and very friendly staff
My favorite store in Amsterdam, where I unfortunately rarely visit, because I avoid the hustle and bustle in the center. Fortunately, you can also order there and books are often delivered to your home the same day! Great service. I don't like the fact that you will always be called to ask if you are home (even if the book clearly fits in the letterbox). Therefore 4 stars.
Expensive, with a wide array of book options. The store is 80 percent Dutch language books, 10 percent English and the rest a mix of French, German, Italian and other Euro-centric languages.
If you're interested in books and need 6 floors to figure out which books you like, look no further. Great shop, huge selection, deals are ok. Certainly worth checking out for the book worms!!
A dream for a bookworm! Several floors full of book, chances are very high that the one you search for is there as well! Very helpful staff, every time! And a chill coffee/cafe corner!
Beautiful book store with a mega collection. Even with a cafe and toilets. You have every opportunity to view a book in peace. Con: disappointing second-hand collection
Good bookshop, it is a pity that they no longer have the range of textbooks from the past. In principle, it would be ideal if they had all the compulsory textbooks of all educational institutions in Amsterdam and many more in their cupboards, but unfortunately they no longer have that. I really miss this.
Been here recently .. couldn't find the book i wanted specifically .. until someone came to help me without asking .. knew exactly where all the books were .. Very helpful and clearly a lot of knowledge in those books .. eventually the found the book I wanted.
Not so nice, but richly filled, cozy bookstore with competitive prices and a nice second-hand book department (with books that are still really interesting). When we were there, live piano music was played that echoed across the different floors. We were also served very friendly.
