Great bookstore to find a small selection of Spanish, French and German books that I haven't found elsewhere in Amsterdam. Large selection of books and magazines in English. Most of the inventory is in Dutch, so if you're looking for that you'll surely find it here.

If you are in Amsterdam and you like reading, then this is a great combination with a museum! Have a great day! I certainly do! And you can also drink a nice cup of coffee or tea, of course, they also have some goodies with it.

Good range of books and it is great to have a cafe. A good place to meet and discuss literature at the long tables, too. But the escalator noise is a big distraction! Otherwise I would have given 5*****. The lift makes this bookshop more accessible than most in the city, as it has a lift.

Great staff, they are all super nice and happy to help you. A lot of books, it is all neatly sorted and easy to find, if your book is not listed, an employee will be happy to help. There is also a nice cafe and many events are organized for young and old to enjoy.

Very large bookstore, which Dwarsliggers also offers. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful. Multilingual too. The selection is just great. Top price. Just great. Large second-hand department above.

At Scheltema the staff is very helpful. I also bought a very nice book from VanGogh. Normally it costs 25 euros, but at Scheltema it costs 10 euros ... This is a nice bookstore with nice chill corners where you can sit (and drink coffee).

There are not so many book stores in Amsterdam anymore. This is a big one and let's cherish it. Today there was a steam locomotive in honor of the new book by JK Rowling for the beautifully decorated facade.

The bookstore is characterized by a wide range and there are places everywhere where you can sit to view your (possible) purchases or read the newspaper. A major disadvantage is the prevailing noise from the escalators! For a bookstore that is disastrous, nowhere a place where you can find peace!

Enormous bookstore in the heart of Amsterdam - I have a soft spot for this place because I ran a writer's group on the top floor among the secondhand books for a year and a half, and have some wonderful memories of this place. Kind of like Borders used to be! They've got pretty much everything - massive selection in English as well as Dutch.

Great bookstore. I don't think you can walk out without a book or related article. Beautiful building in the heart of Amsterdam. And they have delicious coffee and a toilet. Very nice because you like to browse the books for a while.

A very beautiful bookstore with many floors full of books. The cafe smelled great but I didn't have the time to eat there. I came here for a book for a Dutch class and found it easily among stacks of other language books.

Great store. Very big. Vey friendly. Great place to work or just sit down to read. One minus point - there are hardly any electricity outlets. Maybe one per floor and not often close to the sitting area

Bookstore on Rokin Street, beautiful. It has several floors and per floor you find two or three genres. Good variety of authors, titles, versions in several languages and discounts. The area of comics is set for children and next door there is a cafeteria very comfortable. I find the reading culture they have in Amsterdam nice because the cd. It was quiet on Sunday and upon entering the bookstore, it filled as a super market :). Upon leaving, I came across a sculpture by Mark Manders that I leave in my review.
