This camp is amazing. I love all the staff and the activities. Eryn in the office is fantabulous! Every kid should go here.

4 years at Triple C and the kids love every minute. I have one son who is pretty upset with me right now as I waited to late into this month (March) to get him registered and his first choice for a few Explorer weeks is full...But he was also happy with his second choice. Mu husband and I appreciate the efforts the directors make to keep us updated on things that involve our kids...my little one is learning to keep his hands to himself, and sometimes needs support with his self control. The camp has a great behavior plan and they keep us updated when he acts out, and how it all gets handled. They also call when he has a really good day, which is also really nice. We have only great things to say. They love the lunches too!
Spring Break camp was amazing. My kids are so excited for summer camp. They loved every minute. It was an odd weather week and the staff kept them happy and busy even when it was freezing, or raining. The sunny days were even better. Thanks Triple C!
Staff is always going above and beyond to make everyday the best day it can be. They keep the kids safe. Campers are constantly out playing field games, doing arts and crafts, or out in the pool having a blast. Best camp I have ever attended.
The best way to spend summer - outside, off the phone, in the creek, swimming, riding, no screens - I feel so lucky to have this amazing camp only 9 miles from my house. The counselors are both local and from all over the world. My daughter has been having old-fashioned summer fun there for 5 or 6 weeks every year since she was 4 - she's now 14. It has been my pleasure to have the Rothenberg family help me raise a responsible, happy, wide-open child. As a teen, she's done community service at least once a week. She's made s'mores at the overnights. She's learned about honor, character, and her place in the world. What a perfect childhood.
Amazing summer camp! The staff go above and beyond to make every person (campers and parents, even a curious grandma) feel welcome and valued. The amount of energy the staff puts into everything they do is very impressive. The staff are mature and mindful in their words and actions. The facilities are so clean!
Just got registered for another fun summer! This camp is the BEST in Charlottesville. Sooo much for the kids to do and they learn so much. When I had my tour last spring before our first summer the owner personally took our family around, and really wanted to get to know us. When people in Charlottesville say they are part of the Triple C Camp family, they really mean it. Thanks Triple C!
We had a great time at Triple C! I highly recommend this camp.
This camp is great! Make sure you register early as they fill up fast. My kids love the staff, hiking in the woods, the horses, pools, and just all of it. I love that my kids are with well trained staff. I love that there are no people form the pubic swimming with my kids...as happens at other places in town. THIS CAMP HAS IT ALL AND THEY ARE PROS!
This is the first summer for my kids, they are usually home with me. I now know why everyone RAVES about Triple C! In one week they have advanced in swimming, learned new songs, rode a horse, shot bows, made so many new friends and played a game they cannot stop taking about called gaga. I have learned camp songs and we now have nightly purple vs gold contests in our house..just like the ones at camp. Thanks Triple C! Next summer I will register early and for many more weeks.
I'm not sure there are enough words to adequately describe how much we love Triple C! My daughter has gone there for several years now and is so happy there! She comes back home with so many stories about what they did and how much fun she had. In several summers, there hasn't been a day that she didn't want to go! The environment they create at Triple C allows children to grow and challenge themselves. She has become more confident in so many ways. She has conquered fears and hesitations (swimming is just one of them!). She has had experiences there that she likely would not have had otherwise (horseback riding, canoeing, challenge course, and more!). She has developed long lasting friendships with fellow campers as well as with her counselors and the staff at camp. When we're out and about town, we run into camp friends and staff and it's like a little family reunion. It truly is like a family and a home away from home. She's already beyond excited that camp is starting up in just a few months! Thank you Triple C for all you do!
If you would like to sign up your 2nd-3rd grader for the week 6/July 11(summer 2016) Trailblazer boy's camp but couldn't, please inquire with their main office. We have been on the "want-out" list for the Trailblazer boys camp for 5 WEEKS now, but couldn't get an out.
I guess I should have done thorough research before registering for the first time. When we first tried to register last summer, all the camps were full and we were told that there was no point in getting on the waiting list. This year I tried to be proactive and registered early. During the registration process, cancellation policy was not explicitly revealed (which I now considered deceptive). It was until they've taken my deposit that I learned if I need to cancel, there's a $45 fee in order to fill my spot, and there wasn't even guarantee that my spot will be filled ( Isn't this place full every summer? Why are they telling me that I can not cancel?). Turns out that it's been five weeks since I notified them I need to cancel, and they are still working SLOWLY through their waiting list to fill my spot. Really, five weeks! In the meanwhile, other families are being turned away because their website shows all camps full to create a false sense of scarcity.
I was told by the office staff that they are SLOWLY moving through the list to contact each family one by one and that's why it takes so long. Really, such approach just seems ancient. There's simply so much missed opportunity here. Families on the waiting list who could have responded sooner, and families who would like to sign up but was turned away upon seeing a full camp schedule on the web page. Cancellation doesn't have to be this difficult, and shouldn't involve a ridiculous $45 fee if they can make the process more efficient. I wholeheartedly agree with the other online review that all this place cares about is money. You have to pay even if you can't make it, and there's no real incentive for them to release the spot to other families well in advance. We have one additional week registered at triple-c, which we would have been happy to attend. Because of the bad experience here, I really don't want to deal with them further but I can't cancel because of their ridiculous cancellation policy.
What can I say about my children's happy place? Triple C is creating joyful memories with them that will last a lifetime. The kindness and dedication of the counselors underscores the diligence the camp directors put into selection, training, and programming. In addition, Triple C has bent over backwards to include my son who has an autism spectrum disorder. As they sing on the bus, Triple C is the best! Thank you!
I had a great time!!! Sadly I could only go for a week because of my busy schedule but it was the highlight of my summer. Great counselors and kids!!! All in all Triple C Camp is the best camp!!!!!
This is the best camp in Charlottesville! The staff are amazing. Many are UVA teaching students or teachers. Some come from around the world and across the US. My kids adore all the staff. The activities are great, the facilities are so clean. When I have called the office, I feel like my silly questions are important and as an overprotective mom, this is great. (unlike when I call their school). WE LOVE TRIPLE C CAMP!
My son loves this camp. He comes home with loads of things to talk about. He went from afraid of the water to actually swimming, with arm strokes in only a few weeks. Everyone we asked said to be sure of the best summer go to Triple C and we are glad we did.
Triple C rocks! They put together the best program for our office department. It was an excellent way to get our group of 30 out of the office to laugh and learn about each other and will keep us smiling for months to come.
WILL NEVER TAKE MY CHILD THERE AGAIN - the Owner gentleman of this camp is a hot-headed BULLY who yells at the kids! I've seen it: if they aren't following instructions he belittles them in front of the other campers, it's awful. The so-called "counselors" are all foreign and hardly speak English and they also roomed overnight at the camp for the whole summer which worried me. The food is very poor quality, especially after reading the Health Department violations cited at Triple C! It's also extremely over-priced, and they have hidden fees EVERYWHERE. I switched my daughter to the YMCA camp and she was much happier - as was I because it's about half the price! Don't take your child there and have to worry about how their day is, it's a terrible feeling. The Owners of this camp are burned out and money-hungry, and it shows.
This camp has served all of my children over the years. The staff are there for the love of the kids and it shows. There is no place in our area where kids can shine like at Triple C
Amazing field trip day to Triple C Camp. Third graders getting to learn all about animal adaptations. The instructors were amazing. My son got to touch a snake, bearded dragon, run and play animal games and track in the woods. When we had lunch the Triple C instructors joined in with the kids. I have never been to a place where the staff are that invested in building relationships with a group on a field trip! Well done Triple C!
We are from Italy and were visiting UVA for the summer 2016. Being busy with the work during the day, we were looking for a camp for our daughter who is now 13. We found TripleC camp and we were very happy. Our daughter had real fun, in an environment which is safe but rich of experiences at the same time. Although her English is elementary, she had no problem to connect with the counsellors and other camp boys and girls. She also learned a lot in terms of English language (ok, no grammar, but who cares). Also minor problems (like small scratches) were treated with great attention but without alarmism. We are so happy that the next summer 2017 we will repeat the experience. Of course the camp tuition, at least for us, is quite expensive (our salaries are not like those of our colleagues in the US and we cannot detract the expenses) but it is good investment. Have a great time again at TripleC camp !
Kids came home from Spring Break camp full of stories and excitement for tomorrow. There were no one word answers to how did your day go. There are always stories when they get home from camp! They could not wait to tell me the names of their counselors and new friends. Thanks Triple C.
amazing folks! amazing place...welcomes kids from everywhere and the folks there really care.
This will be out 10th summer at Triple C! "H" and Libby have built a great camp experience where kids get to build autonomy as they get older. I love that our kids are exploring nature and having fun with their friends. I've been impressed by all the counselors my boys have had and how well they are matched with age groups. The staff work hard to make sure kids with very different personalities and abilities feel at home.
We had our first experience with the camp today for a birthday party. All the staff was incredible- entertaining and engaging young kids for HOURS. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!!! Thanks ladies for a great day! Connor and Reid will be back!!!
Such a special place. Stopped by to drop off this summers paperwork and as always... was welcomed with such kindness and warmth. My kiddos love this camp. The sun was shining and everyone was busy working on getting things ready for spring break camp. What a blessing for our community to have such a place.
Highly rated. My son is 14 and has been going there yearly for many years. There are many activities for the kids. The kids swim, ride horses, play games, go on field trips, have over night camp once a week as well as lots of camp animals to help take care of.
Libby and H are very good with children and are very green, nature oriented people. My son has never had even 1 complaint about Triple C and will continue to go there until Libby and H kick us out!!
Wonderful place filled with wonderful kids and staff!
