Grest theatre - the referb looks good but they have tried to make the resturant something its not, the food is overpriced and not that great. Go for the shows they are fantastic but eat somewhere else.
I have only just discovered this wonderful local Theatre and am impressed. From the moment you walk through the doors you will be embraced by the vibrant atmosphere! Great use of colour and light to cheer the soul on a miserable February More
White Teeth!!! Exceptional...thank you - it was outstanding!
Brilliant local theatre.
Go as much as we can.
Quite an intimate space and some very good productions.
Highly recommended for a good evening out.
Love so much about this new theatre and the staff were really friendly. The seating could be a tad more comfortable though, bit low and limited leg room- unfortunate oversight guys
Amazing cinema, comfort seats and reasonable prices. We need more places like this in London
Small local, but vibrant theatre with a great atmosphere. Love it.
Cute independent theatre - nicer crowd than larger cinema- intimate seating.
The Tricycle is tucked away behind Kilburn High Road and offers a one stop shop for theatre and cinema. Inside, the decor is bright and fun and there is a bar offering a variety of drinks, alcohol and cakes (try the red velvet!). The cinema More
Absolutely brilliant venue. Everything newly furniished.. Bar service was great. The staff so helpful.
Excellent production of Blues in the night with the astounding Sharon D Clarke. Top notch stuff!
Don't go to any Theatre where they fail to tolerate religions for the sake of getting some political agenda across. Rule 101 of the Arts: Don't mix political opinion and the Arts....they are a toxic blend. #boycotttricycletheatre
I went to the Cinema here recently and found that the food, atmosphere and service was of a good standard and was reasonably priced.
Lovely and small, very intimate. The play was also excellent!
Beautiful theatre/cinema with the buzzing and entertaining atmosphere that none of those big cinema chains offer. There is a bar, coffee shop, seating areas, a reasonably sized theatre and the cinema. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a different night/ afternoon.
The Kiln is a beautiful cozy and fun spot in the middle of the neighborhood. I came to see a play right before christmas and it was an amazing experience. The facilities are great, the cafe has a great menu and the theater itself is a perfect place to enjoy live performances.
I found the Play that I saw this evening very interesting It was called When The Crows Visit written by Anupama Chandrasekharqq and I must say the cast were outstanding. The cast consist of 7 Actors though 2 double up and play a different Character each. Worth seeing. I think it finishes tomorrow
A fantastic, vibrant and innovative space. There's always something on with a cinema, a great theatre, poetry slams, a fab bar and great sausage rolls!
So proud to have this superb venue on our doorstep.
Recently undergone a huge transformation project (formally the Tricycle) and now in a great building with fantastic plays.
An excellent comedy venue, particularly loved the 'industrial' nature of the seating. Great bar as well.
A very nice little theatre indeed! Great seating, and good location. Just a 5 minute walk from the tube and you can even have a drink at their lovely bar!
What a performance! Amazing to be able to see a performance of such quality at a small theatre like the Kiln.
The cast was superb and the band exquisite. A memory that will stay with me for a long long time. Blues musical at it's best.
I gave the Tricycle a 4 only because it gets so hot in there. I have gone to the theatre there a couple of times and nearly melted! I saying that, I just removed my top layer and settled in for the shows. Great atmosphere, as you are sitting quite close to strangers, everyone seems like a friend. I love the stage, you can see it from anywhere and the shows are great.
Lovely theater. Went there for a movie, and it was nice.
The seats are comfortable and spacious.
A very comfortable room. Friendly attention. It also has a good coffee
Great theatre. Saw wife here. We had good seats but I realised that all seats in this theatre are good ones. Would go again to watch theatre here!
This is a venue that I have visited over the past 40 years, but it's the first time I have been since it became the Kiln theatre.
It is bright, functional and welcoming. The staff were informative and helpful. I was pleased by the level of comfort in the theatre itself.
We used the cafe before hand. There is a simple but sufficient menu with lots of light offerings. I was actually quite surprised.
The refit of the theatre is lovely and long overdue all the spaces have been well designed and are far more comfortable. A bright modern space!
Loved the ambiance of the theatre space. Went and saw a brilliant show and enjoyed drinks in the bar afterwards. You need to pick your show but there have been many shows at The Tricycle that make it worth the journey.
Previously know as the Tricycle theatre the Kiln is on Kilburn High Street., you could almost walk past it it s not that obvious. It s quite an intimate theatre with a cafe, bar and restaurant attached. During matinees the full evening menu is served which is not obvious when you check out the website.
Great little theatre, clean and organized. Loved the play When the crows visit .
The refurb is great.
Don't bother to order interval drinks I did and they never arrived - nobodys did. So we had to queue up to get our drinks.
Seating is good. The stage is quite high so don't get front row tickets. Best view is from the circle.
Good place, easy access, any seat is good to watch a theatre
Theatre re- fit is very good . Can't get use to new name KILN , still prefer Tricycle .
Amazing theatre, great vibes, cute and very reasonably price cafe which also serves alcoholic drinks. Watched White Teeth here- brilliant. Highly reccomend. Will be back to watch more shows in the future.
Performances here have always been worth seeing. Now they have great facilities too.
Fabulous intimate venue. Great bar. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Started with a good coffee in the front cafe and came back for soup and a side order of roast veg before seeing the 6pm movie. Very lovely, warm and inviting staff. Has that relaxed feel of a community theatre.
Next time I'll see the play. Felt very comfortable to hang there as a solo visitor.
Used to have better more political theatre and cinema - straying towards middle of the road boringness.
The Artistic Director had it bubbling in her mind to change the name of the world renowned Tricycle Theatre to Kiln. WHAT a tragedy! WHAT a farce! What a slap in the face to all the supporters, patrons and sponsors who have kept this cultural community asset going for forty years. And this banquet of bollocks (to quote Private Eye) was foisted on the public without consultation with its principal stakeholders. Whoever dreamed up Kiln should be FIRED.
Absolutely gorgeous theatre with a lovely welcoming atmosphere
Beautiful space, a great place to meet friends and take in some culture.
Great indie theatre, tho the seats are very uncomfortable the ambiance makes up for it
Lovely local Theatre. Plenty of areas to socialise with friends. Whether that is grabbing a coffee at the coffee shop or dinner and drinks at the restaurant space. Good decor, light bright and spacious. The theatre itself is a fantastic size with great sound and comfy seating. This place is a real treat and I throughly enjoyed my visit.
The costumer service was impeccable and the venue felt so crisp and appealing.
I would 100% visit again and will recommend this place if you'd like a good night out.
Cracking cinema, good value and comfy seats, and do a discount for Brent residents. Good choice of craft beers. Wish they'd sell sweet popcorn though :-)
Went to see the great performance of LION BOY. What a great night out, the kids loved it too. No queue for drinks in the interval, great seats. What a good venue. This is the second good show, the first being an really good adaptation of some of the tales from the Arabian Night's. Keep it up!
Good to have a local threatre and cinema locally. Went to a comedy show which was fantastic really enjoyed myself.
The venue is now more classic and modern and stylish.. But very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful.. They also have a lift for people with mobility issues.
Shocking, beyond bad. Wouldnt recomend it to my worst enemy!!
Amazing little facility! Wonderfully inclusive and happy! Great quality performances! An all round wonderful experience :)
Great little theatre. No matter where you sit the view is good and you feel really close to the actors. I've watched a few plays here and I was really impressed with the result. My favourite local theatre.
Seen some truly outstanding and entertaining theatre here. Red Velvet,This House Will Not Stand, Handbagged, The Father and Snakeskin Shoes to name but a few. We are so completely blessed to have such an innovative, inclusive and community spirited facility in our neighbourhood - cant wait to see Ben Hur next week! Long may your house stand!
I saw "A Boy And His Music" last night,
and it was absolutely brilliant.
The best show I have seen for years!
You must see this one
What an amazing find. Wonderful productions. Comfy seats, close to stage, one really feels part of the play
Lovely place. There are some great productions and reasonably priced tickets.
Lovely little space with a great view from all seats. Watch out for the regular Upfront Comedy Club nights as well as a fab selection of theatre and films. Nice touch having recycling bins and bathrooms that do not assume your gender identity (signs invite you to "please use the bathroom you need").
Lovely venue, see a play, watch a film, just chill and eat or do all three!
The Kiln has metamorphosed from the original Tricycle to the well established theatre people know & are talking about.
Tricycle Theatre: A Proudly Local Theatre with an International Vision and Reputation
Tricycle Theatre is a renowned theatre located in Kilburn, North West London. It was founded in 1980 by Ken Chubb and Pam Brighton, who wanted to create a space for innovative and socially relevant theatre. Since then, Tricycle Theatre has become a cultural hub for the local community and beyond.
The theatre's name comes from its original location on the corner of Kilburn High Road, which was known as "the tricycle corner" due to the three-wheeled vehicles that used to pass through there. Today, Tricycle Theatre is housed in a modern building that includes two performance spaces - the main auditorium with 235 seats and the smaller cinema with 300 seats.
Tricycle Theatre has gained an international reputation for producing high-quality theatre that reflects contemporary issues and diverse perspectives. The theatre's artistic director is Indhu Rubasingham, who took over from Nicolas Kent in 2012. Under her leadership, Tricycle Theatre has continued to push boundaries with its programming choices.
One of Tricycle Theatre's most notable productions was "The Great Game: Afghanistan", which consisted of twelve plays exploring Afghanistan's history and politics over the past century. The production received critical acclaim and toured internationally.
In addition to producing its own shows, Tricycle Theatre also hosts visiting productions from other companies. This allows audiences to experience a wide range of theatrical styles and genres throughout the year.
Tricycle Theatre is committed to engaging with its local community through outreach programs such as youth theatres, workshops for schools, and partnerships with local organizations. The theatre also offers discounted tickets for residents of Brent borough as part of its commitment to accessibility.
In recent years, Tricycle Theatre has expanded its reach beyond traditional live performance by incorporating film screenings into its programming. The cinema space regularly shows independent films as well as mainstream releases.
Overall, Tricycle Theatre is a unique cultural institution that combines local roots with global ambitions. Its commitment to producing socially relevant work while engaging with diverse communities makes it an important player in London's vibrant arts scene.
