I obtained my first mortgage from Treadstone in 2013. They have assisted me in refinancing twice, once to finance an entire HVAC system, which reduced my rate and got rid of the PMI and then just recently refinanced to lower my rate by a point and make it possible to put a new roof on my house. They have been incredibly efficient to work with. This last re-fi didn't require an appraisal and was pretty much complete in about 2 hours. I couldn't make it to their office to close the deal so they sent the title person to my office on my lunch hour. I have recommended them often and will continue to do so!! I was having trouble getting a mortgage due to my sketchy credit history. I had tried two places that wouldnt even talk to me. I was ready to give up when a friend referred me to Treadstone. We went through Treadstone at the advice of our realtor, but we were also pretty ignorant to other options and Treadstone had high positive reviews. The experience started out well and then they seemed very disorganized. They kept asking for documents that we had already provided saying that was all that was needed to move forward. After said documents were provided, they would tell us that they were waiting on other documents which they had never communicated that they needed; this happened several times. In the end we got everything done, but they added a lot of stress to the already stressful, albeit exciting, experience of buying a home.
This was years ago and we recently refinanced through Chase and it was maybe the easiest thing ever, at least it seemed that way after the Treadstone ordeal. My wife and I were content to let it go as an anomaly until our friends, who bought a house recently, were telling us about their negative experience with their lending company (getting closing cost amounts and loan amounts wrong! luckily our friends noticed and said something)... only to find out that it, too, was Treadstone. Too many good reviews for this kind of inconsistency.
