Travelodge San Antonio Airport Review

Dirty and requires a $150 deposit(I have never had to put a deposit) in case of damages....I do not think you can damage it much more. The quilts had holes, room had a smell, doors were caked with dirt, something was sticking out of shower(I was not touching it), scared to put anything in the mini fridge, sure wasn't opening the microwave and just overall rundown. Not worth the hassle and not going to be duped into giving them $150 ever again. Oh, they also have a manager but she is never available so do not bother to ask!

The WiFi was really slow and it could use some upkeep but it was cheap.

The bungalow concept is good but needs a remodeled, the floor is old, the walls dirty mainly the bathroom, the service was not the best, the atmosphere was not the best as there are people living there, at least the Beds this were clean and that's why I give them 3 stars.

The room we were in was nice and cozy. There were some cosmetic issues in the room I noticed, but they were a result of wear and tear such as worn out wood flooring. The only thing I was disappointed about was the breakfast. They only had waffles, cereal, and bread. There wasn't any protein available like eggs or sausage.

I really am disappointed in this hotel. We took our kids many times a year and this was the place to be. After Wyndham took over the hotel it became very run down and needless to say disgusting. It is really a shame, very run down, loud, sticky and gross. Im sure nothing will change and it will continue to go downhill. I hope that they take the advice and reviews seriously and revamp this hotel to its originally glory.

Be wary of this place. Ownership apparently doesn't care about customers.

Where to begin? Upon check in I was told there was no housekeeping except for every 3 days. No breakfast either. If there was WiFi, I was never given any info about how to access it. The room had missing light bulbs. It was dirty - walls, floors, front door, bathtub, stove had burned food under all the burners. The fridge barely worked. Took all night to cool down a few drinks at full power. The A/C barely kept the bedroom cool. After 2 days of having only half the room area cool I found the intake filters were clogged with dirt from no maintenance. I removed them entirely and put them on the floor. Then it cooled properly.

There was no coffee maker, just the fixings. When I reported this and requested a coffee maker, they brought us one. It took 5 activations of the machine's cycle to make a single cup of coffee! What a cheap piece of junk. One of the TVs had its sensor scotch taped to the dresser so it worked from a certain direction. I had to re-tape it to the TV using duct tape to make it work correctly. Pieces of the walls were MISSING. Sections of laminate from some of the furniture were either gone or about to fall off. A drawer was missing from the kitchen. The bathroom sink was next to the TV and kitchenette unit. It didn't have any shelf to put things on nor did it have any light. Have you seen a woman putting on makeup without light or someplace to put her makeup? My wife was not a happy camper.

Ants kept coming out of the walls and getting all over my toothpaste and brush. Ugh!

The house phone was dead and didn't work. I am sure I missed some things, but over all this was disgusting at best. The bed was so hard it hurt our backs. Worst stay ever.

To add insult to injury, I was told that Wyndham had sent a franchisee inspector out the previous week and he passed the place based on our room! I am seeing a payoff here for sure or the inspection never really took place. Everyone involved with this location should be ashamed of themselves. Their customers deserve MUCH better.

To be fair, they did comp me one night's stay, but it was still a terrible experience.

Staff were so nice! My room made me feel like I was at home. Room was clean. Bathroom was small but the room was set up like a tiny cabin. A living room separate from the room that you sleep in. I would stay there again.

This hotel is fantastic. I stayed in a classic suite with my own porch! I can't say enough good things about this location. Clean, modern amenities (flat-screen tvs with full satilitte TV), each suite had central air, beautiful tile bathroom/ kitchen with garbage disposals! The staff is extremely friendly and I had absolutely 0 issues with my stay.I would recommend this to anyone in the area!

Bugs, lots of Marijuana smells and staff doesn't care, ice machines always broken, Web showed one price but 30 minutes later when I got there they charged me double and wouldn't honor the rate posted online.

Found a roach in the couch. Exposed electrical. Toilet clogged on first flush (not a #2). Front door has clearly been busted down in the past. Toilet is loose on the floor. The floor is loose on the floor. Walls are paper thin... Service did not have extra sheets or towels... I could go on but you can get the idea...
0* would be a more appropriate rating for what facade this hotel is trying to push and I haven't even tried the continental breakfast yet...

Floor had water dammage by the tub and in that spot the floor was very weak

The only reason it gets 2 stars is because the pool is nice and the staff was great. The room I had was horrible. I had a two queen bed suite. The kitchenette was too small to cook anything on. The beds are uncomfortable and the rooms are small. When I get a suite I expect to be comfortable as have have in other rooms. I will not come back if we visit San Antonio again.

We had been frequent visitors with some minor irritations before, but this last visit ended our stays with Travelodge. For the first time we had been asked to pay an additional $150 for a security deposit which was outrageous because it was more than half the cost to rent the actual room. When I questioned the "General Manager" she was rude, uncaring, and unapologetic. My husband tried to lighten the mood with some jokes but she was not impressed. We uad advised her that this would be our last visit due to this new rule, she didn't care. Upon our check out we were advised to have all guests vacate before returning to the office for our deposit, which we did. Wheb my husband went to advise them that we were ready the "general manager" questioned him three times as to whether all guests had vacated and he replies twice before becoming annoyed and raising his voice the third time. At this time I went it to collect our deposit and were informed that my husband was no longer welcome to the property. This lady does not seem to unserstand that she had an attitude since check in and no guest wishes to be met by someone like her. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Pull out couch was very uncomfortable and getting sheets was a huge ordeal

This Travelodge has the rustic log cabin feel down pat. Unforchenitly that's about all it has, the beds were stiff, the breakfast was bland and the staff took would come look at the tv and phones when I told them they were not working.

Love the room!! It s so cute and rustic looking. Front desk staff is so sweet and super nice..

Rooms were very clean. Great place for an extended stay with family. Park close by and porches out front to enjoy. Only complaint was that the beds were very firm.

Yeah buddy who's trying to party who's willing to pay the High Cost of Living who's going to meet the real ones roaming around out there come here if you are this is where it happens is where you go or this is where you end up Travelodge you could have paid the same price and got a nice hotel but you came here you wanted to be here hello friend you got any money if not move along

Jessica and Manisha always have a smile on their face and willing to help always there and always so helpful with the guests! I love staying here every time I m in San Antonio.

Old and outdated. Several stains and linens. There was also hair on the pillows and in the shower. Our room had severe water damage, it felt like we were going to fall through the floor!! The room looked like it hadn't even been cleaned since the last guests. Not to mention the fact that there were roaches. We asked for another room, which wasn't in any better condition. They kindly gave us a refund. This used to be a great place to stay. My cheer team would travel and stay in this lodging together each year. However, it has gone down hill severally recently.

Hotel was great. Location was perfect for what we needed. Close to everything. Staff was wonderful and recommended a great BBQ place close to the hotel. Room was updated and super clean. The parking and ground were well lite and safe. We will definitely be staying here when we come to San Antonio again. Loved it!

It's cheaper if you pay for the room online. If you pay in person, the price is almost doubled.

The only reason I gave any stars was my experience with the staff. Staff was very nice and tried very hard to help us out. The first room we went to was horrible. The list of things is so long that I will just say horrible. I called the front desk and he said to come to the office so he could put me in a new room. The second room smelled better and was a little updated but still nasty. I had reservations to stay the week with my husband and kids and I did not want my kids even inside the room. I appreciate the staff and them letting me cancel. They were absolutely super helpful and apologetic. I do not recommend the this place because of cleanliness issues and obvious bugs. It is not the best area either.

Great condo. Big and freshly renovated. Great pool with shallow kiddi section. I would definitely stay here again.

I loved that we staied here. Pool was really pretty with all the lights at night . rooms where nice. Everyone at front desk was nice except for the one guy named cliff every time we try to call him over the phone and ask about something he always hung up on us. Had renovating going on. One of the hot tubs was closed (it was the one in their pictures online) and the other one was too hot you couldn't be in it more than 5 minutes with out feeling sick.

Awesome place, great service. Always fresh coffee. Rooms are clean and property is kept.

Will not return call , employees are rude, charges credit card for $150 deposit after i already payed with priceline , will not return deposit said to have my bank contact them for refund ,, shame on you Wyndham hotel for doing business like that.

TERRIBLE customer service and bed bugs everywhere!!

This hotel acts like they re 5 star, when there is dust, mold and bed bugs everywhere.

What a pleasant surprise this place turned out to be! For the price, I was expecting your run of the mill hotel room. A white walled rectangle with two beds, a tv, & a toilet. And that would have been fine, we certainly weren't paying for a ritzy room, it was one of the cheapest rates I found.
It turned out to be so much nicer! The rooms are exactly as pictured; there's a little porch, a separate seating area with a tv and desk, a nice little counter with a sink, microwave & fridge (even a cabinet with a few dishes). The beds are comfy, the AC is cold, everything is clean. Super friendly staff and well maintained grounds. A++

P R O S: Beautiful shrubbery and motel layout. Large pool and new kid playground Clean room with living room and two TVs. Lots of TV channels. Nice microwave and fridge. Quiet.

C O N S: Slow wifi at prime time. Floor tiles were cracked and toilet was loose, so it rocked.

Don't stay at this place its roach infested, I was there for 4 nights and switch to another room but the problem was still there. They never had towels to give, my experience there was horrible. I will Never stay here again!

Infested , then they moved us to 222 whicj also was infested with bed bugs.. The worker jessica at the front desk was rude as well no professionlism.. Exists there.. If you choose to stay there... GOOD LUCK... UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Accommodations were pleasant and the overall room quality and service were friendly and exceptional.

You get what you paid for! Security door(front door) opens without keys, cigarette holes in sheets, stained couches, and bad smell.

It was nice hotel. Family enjoyed the swimming pool, enjoyed watching TV. Employee's we're very nice and respectful. Had no issue.

Do not stay at this hotel!
Turned the sink on to wash my hands in my room and roaches came out the faucet.
Pills on the floor which I have a 1 year old so that was bad.
Hair on the floor.
Sheets had sticky stains on them.
Ended up checking out and of course manager not available ever since

Decent quiet place. Also very convenient to major attractions. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great, kids loved it. The only thing was our floor looked like it needed to be mopped. But other than that it was good. I'd stay here again.

The attendants cliff & jody correct me if I m wrong but they were excellent helped me & my workers get a comfortable room for weeks at a time at a great place & nice breakfast selection I rate them 5/5 starts thanks so much from the team @ #KrabKingz

Staff was great at the front desk clerk was really really nice the playground and the swimming pool was really nice but the area and the people that they let stay there made it bring down value

Great place . Nice and quiet with night time security . The heated pool and hot tub are a must see when you visit . The prices are decent as well . The only drawback I found is that some of the rooms don't have a stove . And it's a long walk to the front office to do laundry .

Price is good. The updated rooms are good adequate for the office. The pool, whirlpool, playgrounds, bbq pits all over are nice. The staff is nice. I have been eaten alive by either mosquitos or noseeums. They put me in a room with a known problem of this and then changed me. No, there were not bed bugs. It is clean of them, just mosquitos that somehow where getting into the room. The internet and direct TV work about 70% of the time but may not work when you want it to.

Was a great hotel, but DO NOT GO IF YOU SUFFER FROM ARACHNOPHOBIA!! I had probably 3 or 4 spiders in my bed and 2 that were in the bathroom. I suffer from acute arachnophobia so although I didn't die I was a bit freaked out with I was there because of the spiders that were in my bed. Other that that it was really nice, and I had fun.

It was a great price and and fun place for a group to be located

Awesome place to stay, pool was nice, the rooms were great for a low price. I had 2 queens and a sofa bed and 2 tv under $70. There was a pavilion lots of tables , grills to use, washer/dryer, and free breakfast. Stay at a few Travelodge, an this one was the best to me.

First and foremost hotel manager Manisha was very nice and pleasant to do buisness with. Cozy and clean atmosphere.

It was the perfect stay! Our room was clean and updated. The staff was very polite and remembered me when I came to check in and asked about our day in downtown San Antonio. They offer a military discount. I suggest asking for a room in the middle of the complex like we had! if you have kids with you like we did, they can play on the playground and you can still keep an eye on them from your front porch.

Room was great, the staff amazing. It is dated and needs some repairs but for the money it is great.

Rooms are poorly maintained and cleaned. Nice pool and patio area but was left a mess due to not being supervised by staff. Breakfast was the smallest selection I'd seen in all of my resent stays in different hotels and motels. As you can see the door seems to have never been wiped down the stove top is filthy and there's just random things that should have been cleaned or fixed. Also the floor was so dirty that we had to wipe out feet before putting our socks and shoes on.

Nice quiet place love the fact that it has a park and a pool

I m not happy, every time I call front desk they don t answer the phone. It s poor management, one staff doing everything so they leave n come back they should wireless phone, breakfast sucks only cereal and waffles. The room is not what I expected this place is run down the sofa is old and should be trashed n replace, the floors are coming apart n torn, the fridge is old looking, I was expecting a kitchen with a stove and full fridge, not happy about that, the bathroom smells like pee when u first walked in, when you sit on toilet you hear a big thumb and it s falling off it s broke n flush is really loud like shower is on loud. This place is not worth the price 80-90 per night, it s worth $40 per night.

this hotel is the cutest hotel ever the rooms are total rustic theme cabins and everything was clean and comfy for the price of the room i think you are getting a great deal! compared to other places.
Its only 10 mins away from downtown.!

Power box outside room was extremely loud, prevented from getting sleep. Bathroom smelled strongly of urine. Room was in need of repairs overall. Matress was very hard and dusty near the headboard. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered fresh diy waffles.

Will never stay here again! Pool was dirty, dead roaches in room, & one tv didn t work and after calling them twice they never went. However that was fine no big deal, what made me decide to write this review was the fact that they made 3 seperate transactions on my debit card totaling to $483, when it was only supposed to be $161. Now I m having a hard time getting my money back, had to file a claim with my bank.

Good hotel The rooms are of the cabin type, with a small refrigerator and a microwave so you can prepare your own food without spending too much. Comfortable, spacious rooms (the one that touched me at least). Good location and attention. Do not expect much from the included breakfast but take advantage of it, since in Usa the food is very expensive if you do not know where to go.

Room was filled with cockroaches and had a puny smell. They told us that they can t get us another room and that the cleaning service was unavailable. A total disappointment never coming back. Thank you Pete Ramirez for helping us cancel our room quickly and without a problem.

They do not clean the sheets they reuse the same sheets the people sleep on and the customer service is horrible

Very reasonable price . Clean and spacious rooms. Nice pool.

Not sure where to start. One, I was there for five days, no one cleaned the room once. Brought it up to mgmt on days three and four. They didn t care. Just said they d take it up with cleaning. Still no one cleaned.

Beds, terrible. Hard, leaning to a side, just ridiculous. Only two pillows on the bed. Asked for more, they had none. Asked for more on multiple days, never had any. Barely had sheets for the extra bed. When I asked for those, I was treated like I interrupted an important movie by the front desk staff.

Towels, as a result of not cleaning the room, asked for more towels. I was given pool towels because they didn t have any regular towels.

Televisions didn t work. Would get stuck often causing me to completely unplug the system to get it back to normal.

People drinking at the pool with glass bottles. Mgmt saw multiple times, never said anything.

Pretty terrible experience. Drive right on by. Don t stay here. Given that others have had similar experiences over time, it appears to me that they just give lip service about how they ll get better and address issues. They aren t.

Been here all week and restroom hasn t been clean. There s no remote to tv and when my husband went to the front desk they told him they didn t have any and that he would have to get up and change the channels himself. Air condition wasn t cold enough and floors were never swept, less even mopped. They can put there maids work a little bit more.Manager to this location needs to keep up with all the things. Bad service! Rather pay more and for it to be clean.

I'm not a very picky person with lodging, and I've stayed at 2-starred inns before, but this place is the most disgusting I've stayed in. The walls are dirty and some are broken. The bathroom smelled like pee and the shower tub was clogged. The bathroom floor was coming apart. The couch is very worn. The faucet and sink looked grimy and gross. The secondary lock is barely hanging on one screw. The fridge needs to be replaced.
The only positive thing is that the staff seemed nice, and that the sink is situated outside the bathroom, so I didn't have to brush my teeth in that smelly bathroom.
This place is so bad, we checked out after the first of two nights. We didn't care that we won't get the money that we paid for the second night back. My 2 year old developed hives on the sides of his face when he came into contact with the couch (it cleared up when we left).

TL;DR
This place is really unsanitary and run down (see pictures). We checked out after 1 out of the 2 nights we booked.

Stayed during spring break. When we first got there one of the rooms we book wasn't near the rest of the rooms we booked went to the front and they gave us the room next to the others no problem. The hot tubs were amazing as well as the heated pool which was great cause it was only 69 degrees. Breakfast was great it's not a texas hotel without texas shaped waffles. Staff were awesome will defiantly stay here when we come to San Antonio.
