Travelodge San Antonio Airport Review

We have been staying every summer for 9 years already but im already looking for another place to stay went on August and the first room we checked in the toilet was full of poop didnt flush. They gave us another room that room was dirty had chocolate pudding in the wall and in a lamp had to clean it up due that they never send no one to do so. Dont know why they used to check rooms before we left now they dont I guess. I stayed this weekend and the door to our room was not opening finally got it to work and I went in to sanitize and clean before my kids went in toilet was flushing no spills or splatter in the walls but when I checked the bath tub a lot of trimed hairs were in the tub the drain in the tub was cloged up we had to take a shower at a family members house before we got to the hotel that night.

This is a great cheap place. As long as you know what you are getting. I just had a group there with over 10 rooms. They worked very well with us and we got a good price. The rooms are aged and need a remodel but for the price and size I think they are good. Some of the sofas really need recovered. Also the cleaning staff need to do a much better job before they give a room. Very nice pool and playground with a nice covered area. I highly recommend the place for youth groups coming to Schlitterbahn or six flags.

We had the worst experience at this location. Our family had to change rooms 3 times due to a/c not working and or leaking We had to move all of our stuff including kids and pets. Also there was a major roach infestation in one of our rooms. The cleaning ladies kept opening and coming in every single morning even after we asked them not to with a do not disturb sign on the door. (The room did not have a door that would stay locked other than the metal top lock that allowed you to open the door slightly). When we contacted the front desk to let them know we were bringing in payment, the girl (who was pregnant at the time) I will not mention her name out of respect. She had yelled at me and said we had 15 minutes to get out or bring payment and hung it up! I called back and filed a complaint on her and after that we continued to be harassed. It is very unfortunate that this place is such a beautiful property and has horrible cleaning and customer service that is ruining the awesome experience that you and your family could possible have.

Great idea for family fun. Large pools (kiddie, regular, and hot tub), playground, barbeque and outdoor eating areas. Unfortunately needs a quality facelift.

This management is very poor and don't care for the quest at all. I know a transgender female who was a guest and standing outside her doorstep she got approached by a few gentlemen who robbed her ,security cameras weren't available, security cop wasn't available and other guests that stay across from her that actually work as housekeeping saw the confrontation but rather ignored it. Not a good place at all

This place is a short drive to/from the airport, and it's right off the highway. There can be some highway noise if you are in rooms near the entrance, but it's quieter further back. The continental breakfast is on the small side, but they have a couple cereals, waffle makers, muffins, and there's a selection of coffee and juice. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are almost entirely wood panel on all walls, which is kind of fun and weird. You should not expect to be amazed by the highest quality beds, showers, and room amenities when you come here. This is the kind of place where you can hang out on the porch outside your room, have a beer with your fellow travelers, and then be on your way. My friends and I have stayed here three different times while we're in town for a tournament, and it's become the place where we stay because of its quirky, odd, nostalgic characteristics.

Beds are very firm and pillows are very small and flat. Rooms are cabin-like and walls are covered with wood. There is a large playground and a pool. BBQ grills are also available on the grounds. Nice place too stay.

Very friendly staff and amazing nice rooms especially for the price! The room was very clean upon arrival and housekeeping is very nice as well and has made our bed and cleaned the room every day. The WiFi works great compared to other places we have stayed and we were able to stream hulu and Netflix with no issues! Breakfast is free ...we didn't try it since we have slept in every morning so I can't give feedback on that. The pool and hot tub are really clean. Overall we have enjoyed our stay and will always stay here on every trip in the future! GREAT HOTEL!!

Cute boatknick atmosphere, we had 2 TV'S in our accommodation (1 of them was in a sitting anteroom.) We did have to move rooms due to I want a working landline for emergencies and to reach the front desk. There was a working pool and jacuzzi hot tub outside (we did not use.) Business center, okay breakfast and free WIFI.

Staff is very friendly, has a good breakfast to offer and rooms are cozy

Home feeling and no complaints. Great customer service, had some cool convos with the front desk folks. Loved it and could have stayed longer.

I love the cute little individual cabins it feels very private not like a busy hotel the cabins have individual areas with two flat screen TVs one of the living room one in the bedroom a small kitchenette with a nice toiletries the staff is also very accommodating they allow you to keep extending your stay if your business trip runs over I love this place I stay there every time I'm in San Antonio now

Jodie (jody) was extremely helpful at the front desk. Her knowledge of the grounds and pricing info was exceptional as well as being attentive to consumers 5 stars for her... I think she should be paid based on consumer appreciation and repetitive visits.

Decently good place for a short stay at low cost. Had a comfortable stay. The room interiors can be improved.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Tub was rusted, toilet wasn't attached to the floor correctly. There was only one remote for 2 TVs. Room was dirty and in poor condition. But the worst part was the staff!

There were no towles or rags & the shampoo was half used. Went to the front desk for towles but was told I had to get them before 2PM (we had checked in at about 4PM). We went the next morning for towles & the manager was super rude! It took forever just to find her, then she acted like it was unreasonable for us to want towles!

Rooms are cute. Bathroom is super tiny! I have a disabled child & no handicap accessible rooms were available. Our toilet didn't want to flush. I went to office & she hands me a plunger. A/C on 64 & still was on the warm side. Beds are hard & pillows too soft that they flatten out. Rough night sleep!

Like this hotel. It has a playground, a heated swimming pool, and barbeque pits and picnic tables. Some rooms have kitchenettes and the rooms sleep 6. Not bad for the price.

This was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. The room smelled like urine, there was a very questionable stain on the couch. Walls were dirty, roach traps laid out in the room. The worst was waking up in the middle of the night with roaches in our bed and crawling on my leg. We left in the middle of the night. The thought of sleeping with roaches was disgusting! We were not refunded due to us making the reservations through travelocity, But it turns out we were double charged not only by travelocity but also by the hotel. When we called the hotel to inform them of the charge they told us we had to call our bank. I will never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

My kids and I loved this place. It was exactly the five star but good enough for us. It has a pool for older children, smaller pool for little ones. The bathrooms are small. There is a porch but one plastic chair was broken and one had material tearing. The first step to enter the lodge was a little wobbly, and some floor you can tell that it will need work. Boards are caving in a bit.

I was iffy about this place given the affordable price and booking online without actually seeing the place but WOW! This place is actually nice! It gives off a cabin-like feel with a requested stove top. There are plenty picnic tables outside and a grill! The playground is large but segregated from the street and is literally right in front of the hotel room. This will definitely be recommended to my family and others! The front staff isn't all that nice but the cleaning crew were very helpful!

As we looked for a nice place to stay for the weekend I thought this was it. Pictures showed 2 hot tubs, beautiful pool and what appeared to be cute rooms. NOPE...the 1st room the a/c didn't work, the beds were hard, and no pillows on one bed and only 2 on the other. The couch was worn down. So they offered another room...well it smelt better...but we had to take the pillows and towels from the other room. The couch bed was HORRIBLE! IT WAS ALL TORN UP. We asked for extra sheets and had only 1 flat sheet, so again we took bedding from the other room. Not very happy...only thing we liked was the pool!!

I rented the hotel for a month and they had bed bugs so I told the owner and she said we needed to check out and then she charged Me extra fees I had a horrible experience with the room and with the owner for real, please don't rent these ugly rooms.

Most stay the breakfast isn't great but the inside is awesome. Even has a living room area and awesome pool. Great for families when vacationing.

I tried to cancel my reservations for this location but the line was always busy.
My experience was hell , now they are trying to charge me anyway because I missed the cancellation time. I had been calling for over an hour before cancellation time. Really bad experience. I felt they did not answer on purpose to prevent cancellations.
RE: After a day passes the hotel called me and sent me an email sating thier system was down and they did cancel my hotal at not cost. I will contiue using them since they did the right thing. I applaud them for reaching out. Sorry I doubted you I was in the wrong.. Thank you.

Pros: In general the facilities are good. The large rooms with separate stay. All with 2 independent TVs, with extensive Sky programming. Refri, micro, even kitchenette in some rooms.
Cons: Large pool, but without control and there are people smoking and drinking next to the children (depends on the occasion). Cockroaches (4 per day in our case). Administrator tried to convince us that they do not have king beds, despite having reserved a king specifically - at the end of demands if they granted us the king of a room for the disabled.

Just run away! Supposedly they had been renovated blah, blah, blah. We walked into the room and the first thing we noticed was all the missed matched, old and tattered furniture. The chain lock on the door was broken so my 3 year old kept running out, and when I reported it she asked if I could wait until the morning to have it fixed. The bathtub had a 6 crack in it that we had to be careful with in order not to cut our feet. The worst of it was when we laid down and noticed that they had used a comforter stained with specks of blood and Hot Cheetos on the underside of it. Their fix? They sent their security guard with an old, thin blanket to exchange it. HOUSEKEEPING SUCKS! The next morning they didn t bother to bring in a clean comforter or even ensure that there was toilet paper in the room. Their continental breakfast is a joke. I d rather go purchase breakfast than eat there for free again. Then, we checked out Sunday morning, checked our bank account on our way out of town only to discover that they charged our account twice for the stay.

We were moved from one room to another so we experienced two different rooms. Me, my hubby & two kids stayed here for a week and it has got to be the worst place we ve ever stayed at.
We got to the first room and right away we noticed how dirty the rooms were the bed wasn t even finished being made (there was the top comforter missing) the tub had stains all around and the sofa and bed covers all had holes and rips in them. Our second room was a tiny bit cleaner but my son & I broke out on our sides and face from the bed we were sleeping on.
The maids also would see we were in the room and ask if we needed anything & than the to leave without cleaning the rooms:. They had also told us they only switch the sheets on the bed on Mondays and Thursday s.
We also came across two really big bugs in our room. The WiFi absolutely sucked & half the visit out room phones & keys didn t work. Would never stay here again when visiting again.

I was very disappointed with my last stay. I had been staying there for about a month while working here in San Antonio. I overlooked the lack of cleanliness since the staff was nice and the atmosphere was good. This last stay I was in room 286 where I was welcomed with several roaches on the counter top and in the kitchen area. I let the front desk know, but they did not have any other rooms available with kitchens for 3 days. After going back to the room I found the coffee maker was full of baby roaches. I gave the coffee maker to the house keeping and told them about the problem. When they came in to clean the room they just emptied trash and made the bed but did not clean the counter or plugin area that had roach droppings all over them. They lost my business forever as I didn't even get an apology for the disgusting room.

Amazing rooms and amazing stay :) !!! Rooms are very clean and cleaning employees are really polite with your belongings. Pool is really fun and also play ground only thing that I didn t like was the bbq pits had left over burnt charcoal which kept giving out a ugly smell when ever you were out side. Other than that everything is great and I recommend this hotel.

THE WAFFLES ROCK !!!

The rooms are a great size, but the room was not very well kept. There were actually live and dead small roaches in our room. There were some surrounding the sink that's beside the stove burner. Honestly I would've been comfortable if it weren't for the roaches.

Loved it. Came here for a 2 day conference meeting. This place is different from other hotels in the sense that it has a cabin themed gimmick unlike a lot of other hotels. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Shuttle to and from the airport. And the management staff is just spectacular

Bring yourself a fan if you plan on coming in the summer time. Laying in bed writing this review after going to the family dollar to by a wonderful day to move some air. This room doesn t seem well insulated. Other than that, it hasn t been a bad stay. The pool and playground were great for the kid and I. Breakfast isn t much at all. Waffles and cereal was all I seen.. so we went to Cracker Barrel!

Place is old but clean and peaceful front desk personnel very friendly.

The manager Manisha is such a lovely person, we loved her. She has awesome customer service and she is a very people person..

This will now be one of my go to places when I am traveling especially in the San Antonio area the person who checked us in was named Jody and she was very helpful and checking Us in and telling us information about surrounding businesses and good places to eat she was very professional and how she helped us and if I could give her another five star I would she was very excellent also the facilities and area was very clean and maintain me and my wife was very happy with the room very clean very nice very spacious as well Continental somewhat breakfast was great I would recommend this to anyone who is traveling because
Because it was every bit of what I have read of the good reviews and the pictures that I seen online I was very impressed that I got more than what I paid for as far as quality and service this is a great place and great staff five stars to Jody she was very awesome..

I liked staying at the Inn. The only reason he left 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bed compared to other places he used have been more comfortable.

Awesome rooms they are very big. Each room is like cabins very nice.

This might have been the best night sleep I've ever had in San Antonio! Room was very comfortable! Service was friendly and courteous! Breakfast was better than expected and the second night was just as enjoyable. Tucked in a bit from the road so sound from the freeway is not an issue! I will definitely stay here again!

The grounds look nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful, but very poor maintenance. Doors look like they have been forced open, the sofa and bedsheets are stained, toilets are not just wobbling but literally rocking back and forth, walls definitely need more than just touch up paint.

This motel is a nice place to stay. In fact, it's our fifth time visiting. For us, the location is perfect. Almost every place we go to is around 15 minutes away. The breakfast is pretty good. The staff has always been nice. And our room has always been kept clean.

This place was nasty dirty have bed bugs .me .and my family got bit. The whole place was dirty nasty. In the photos look so nice and clean but is a mess.stinky restroom.

I like staying here. Enjoy the rustic cabin feel. Beds are clean and comfortable and so was the coach. No insects to speak of we saw. Only problem was housekeeping could be a tad better. Some spots on the tv and tables and what looks like blood splatter on the telephone(??) But we don't use it so didn't bother us. Great place for the price.

had to defrost the mini fridge, and it still didn't work. someone almost got murdered right next door. i didn't have a choice in staying here. 2/10 do not recommend.

Couldn t get the manager to get me a pillow or get my room cleaned. Lovely young lady named Jennifer brought me some clean towels and sheets on my 3rd day. The other young girl at the front desk was helpful also but the managers was rude and the guy working nights would not let us in the lobby at 11:30pm and you could see through the window that he had the phone off the hook so it would not ring sitting where he thought he couldn t be seen eating a damn burger. smh

Room was full of mold. Only one tv worked and the floors were saggy ..about to break through. This place needs lots of maintenance or a bulldozer.

I just love it since 911 happen it was a different name then. And my grandkids love the pool.

Fun place cool playground nice hot tubs and pool we had to move rooms twice due to toliet overflowing from tank and bowl when we got to the second room I could break in the door with a card but in the other rooms I could not now in the second room the windows were open someone had been in the bed and Burned a cigarette whole in the sheets the toliet overflowed in that room so we moved to a different room some homeless people broke in to the second room said that they knew us but they didn't and that they were here with us so they called the cops and said we have to leave and charged us 400 hundred dollars and my little brother had an accident in his pants and for in shower and then got shampoo on hi eyes and they rushed us and was horrible to us i don't recommend staying here

Well I have to say this not a bad place at all had my doubts due to neighborhood but it s right next to hospital I have to be at.Im a Wyndham rewards member and stay at many nice hotels,but these are nice clean economical and the GM here is great she put me in my handicap room as my reservation failed me,I was unaware of big deposit which I m not used too but she lowered it for me if I had read the reviews before check in which I always do I would have found another location to stay but to my satisfaction I m glad I m here.Definitely a recommendation from me .

Right off the highway, it felt very cozy. Patio was a nice touch as well. 2 TVs, one in each room and they have some rooms that you can be joined together. Great parking as well.

We took our two year old son to go swimming with a family friend, and he had a blast! Great property layout, fantastic kid friendly pool, and even a playground.

Very good location of this hotel 4 minutes from San Antonio airport and almost at 35 with 410 Conally loop. Very reasonable prices, per chalet suite or 2 queen beds, kitchenette and living room with sofa and 2 flat TVs in each suite. Your person and management are very kind. With my lodging for a day they offered me that I could leave my car there for 5 days that I went on a trip to NY my car was there intact when I returned and they did not charge me anything for this plus.

Medium priced bungalows. I like to take my kids there for the weekend and play and swim.

This place is a mix of great and tragic. The property is fantastic for a family and the rooms are large and have a porch. However, they are outdated and poorly maintained, a little dirty and the beds are terrible.

The property has a great pool and a really nice playground for the kids. One of the slides is huge! I had as much fun as my kids did on the playground. The pool was large and had plenty of places to sit and relax. My favorite part of the pool was that there was a whole section of the pool that was only 1' deep. My two year old could play without us hovering over her.

The outdoor common areas really make it feel like a community. We met several other people around us, some of them with kids the same age as ours, and it made the time spent at the hotel all that much better.

Now for the bad part. First, let me say that the rooms you see on their website are not available for you. By you I mean someone who is looking for a nice place to stay for a couple nights. The rooms they do have are outdated, old and poorly maintained. Ours had recently installed cheap fake wood floors. When my kids walked on it the floor would come up and scratch their feet. The walls had little nails sticking out. The fridge was broken and so was the door jam and most of the lamps and fans.

This next part really bothers me. My wife seems baffled at how I can look past almost anything but this is unacceptable some how. Ready? The beds did not have mattress pads! What kind of decent hotel makes a decision to not put something between the mattress and the sheet? Also, don't think you are going to be relaxing in front of any tv made this century. Our tv was about 15" and had something called a tube inside.

The staff was nice and every time we needed something addressed it was handled promptly. In fact, the maintenance guy was a highlight of our stay.

So, here is what you want to know. Would I stay here again? Oddly enough, yes. Ask for room 200. It was livable, quiet and with a few things from home it would have been almost nice. If we come back soon we will bring a queen size mattress pad and some decent pillows.

My kids had a blast and were excited to come back to the hotel after our adventures. My wife and I had fun but it honestly took a little work to make it livable.

We were given one room and while we were in there the air conditioner wasn't working, beds were hard as rocks,the room smelled musty like mildew and the tv in front of the 2 queen beds wouldn't turn on. Then we were sent down to another room where it was cooler and didn't smell musty but...... We had cockroaches, no pillows for 2 beds, no sheets or blanket/cover for the pull out couch (it was completely bare, plus the mattress for the pull out was extremely tore up!) and the tv in front of the 2 queen beds weren't working in there either!! I had to unplug and reset the tv and it FINALLY came on. The spa and waterfall was broken and empty and we weren't told of the other spa until check out. Breakfast was basic but filling. The pool was nice and i think this place has a ton of potential if fixed up. (The pictures are way nicer than it really is.) The staff was very nice and accommodated as much as they were able.

other than the yellowjackets outside the door it was perfect. awesome pool and breakfast. They. took care of the yellowjackets before i could hang up and go check to see if they did. overall i was really happy with them and they will be my first choice next time i need a room

It is old and a bit run down.
We really enjoyed the pool and landscaping. The pool is the bomb! There is a covered pavillionwith pic nice tables and a barbecue pit. Our cottage was adequate but the couch was old, soiled and crusty.
The bathroom had loose tiles and had a strong urine smell.
Maybe the other cottages are better? Also each cottage had a small covered porch which I also liked.
Location is great!

GM is kind and super nice. She always provides great customer service

The hotel was great. It had all the basic appliances; I mean all. The room was clean and spacious. Parking my car made me feel like parking at home. I will definitely use again.

If it were a good hotel if it were cleaner, it smells very bad of cigarettes, the beds are too damp too old, the filthy armchair is very dirty, the bathroom smelled a lot of pee and at breakfast time the lady who cleans ands angry because one is grabbing breakfast as saying and clean no longer grab and that should not be so because you must clean and close at. 9 am not before, the only good thing is the pool, that there are tables to eat outside grills and a park for the children, I stayed in room 253 the truth will not come back here and I do not recommend it

Great place for a great price. Mostly clean, had zero complaints. The staff were great and helpful. They placed us right by the playground and swimming pool. We visited the week after Christmas and it has been a bit chilly but the kids were determined to go swimming. The Travelodge has a heated part on the main swimming pool. Its not just heated, it is hot, like a spa with no jets. It felt great in 40 degrees. My family of 5 used one room had 2 queen beds and a second part of the room had a pull out couch and 2 TVs. The room also had much to my surprise, a fridge and mircowave. We stayed there four days. The continental breakfast, wasnt great. The only protein there was yogurt. They had waffles, ceral, oatmeal, muffins and other carbs some fruit.
The Inn is close to the airport and one does hear the planes inside the rooms but it wasn't very loud, just quiet thunder.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Loved the atmosphere, very pretty and has a great Texas feel. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
