Last week I took my car to Toyota Of Santa Monica for service and overall experience that I had was very satisfying, specially with Chris Rinker who took care of my service needs perfectly and was very precise in mentioning the right recommendations for my car. He delivered the car at the exact time that he promised, and I am very happy with the way everything was taking care of by him.

Purchased a 2017 Mirai yesterday and Edwin Fuentes was our specialist. Communicated with him for about a month prior to making the purchase decision. Edwin was always patient, never pushy, always responded to me and made me feel i was a valued customer, even before I purchased. The actual purchase experience was relaxed and hassle free. We were done, including the drive to the station and demonstration of the hydrogen filling process, in less than 3 hours. One of the most pleasant aspects was that we didn't have to be passed off from sales to sales manager to finance...Edwin handled, processed and closed our entire transaction. We are highly impressed with both Edwin as our Mirai specialist, and Toyota of Santa Monica. Great job!

Edwin Fuentes was our Toyoto mirai salesperson and but for him, we newbies to this amazing technological vehicle would have not felt confident about going ahead...yes we are tech forward and convinced on electrics...but to go to a fuel cell required extra care, guidance, education as well as great customer service and financing and help with the rebates...all of which edwin fuentes did with great professionalism and ease. He is quiet and pleasant and doesnt push you..you get to make decisions at your pace...and best of all you can ask a lot of questions.

We are now proud owners of a Mirai and want to give a shout out to our local star mirai salesperson...edwin fuentes. Live long and prosper...let's get the voyager(mirai) out of our garage.

Many of the dealerships I visited had very aggressive, high pressure sales practices &/or worse: rude sales people!

I can honestly say that this is one of my better buying experiences & I would highly recommend visiting this dealership. All the people we met were friendly, knowledgeable, patient & very professional. I enjoyed NOT being pressured to death!

Hamid Zabehi (our primary salesman) was great! He is extremely personable & very patient (especially with our kids running around & getting into everything!). He was very helpful & attentive to our various questions & concerns. He really cared to get us into the best matching vehicle for our needs.

We feel like we made a solid vehicle choice & are very happy with our purchase. Our entire buying experience at Santa Monica Toyota was easy & stressless (like it's supposed to be!).

Also: Danny Canteo (Hamid's Sales Manager) & Tony Lunt (the Finance Manager) & Tony Doyle (another sales person helping us) were GREAT! They were very friendly & patient! Also, no stress or hassles!! Just friendly, helpful & patient. And they all allowed us to come back several times to re-test drive vehicles & stick in our child seats & strollers to see which vehicle would serve us best.

All with NO STRESS & NO PRESSURE!! Just GREAT, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL SERVICE with a SMILE!! Thanks to all the AWESOME people that helped us! : )

Awful service advisor, Aaron. Tried to sell extra ...

Awful service advisor, Aaron. Tried to sell extra service (advisors are paid by the service they sell) and then refused to take the coupons the dealership sends (saying the service is already discounted). I asked to see the Undiscounted service pricing or the coupon that shows the service pricing, he referred me to a customer service manager. The manager was at a meeting .and was told I d have to wait several hours to talk to him. Then when we ordered just an oil change, Aaron said it would take several hours. This is the 4th oil change on this leased car, and we never, ever had to wait more than 30 minutes. Feels a lot like punishment for complaining about the bogus coupons. A real strong reason never to buy a Toyota again (even though we like the Prius). If you can possibly stay away from this service center (or at least this service advisor), stay away.

Buyer Beware!!!! They do not fully inspect their used vehicles. I was going to purchase a used Toyota Matrix and due to Covid, set up the financing and purchase price with Hector Medina prior to arrival. Fair price and financing.

I arrived to find that the transmission pan bolt was sealed with silicone. When it was removed I discovered that the bolt could not be removed it just spun freely. Dont know how I was supposed to be able to change the fluid without fixing this. Being that they are a dealer I assumed they would work with me to fix the issue so I agreed to pay at least half for the repair. They refused. I also found that the vehicle had no spare tire and an oil leak or seep that would be over 2000 to fix. Once again I agreed to pay for a portion of the repairs but they refused. I feel sorry for the person who buys this vehicle as the cost to get it in acceptable shape will be at least 3000. This clearly shows that Toyota of Santa Monica does not carefully inspect their vehicles or just doesnt care. Probably a little bit of both.

Think about it........... Used cars have a huge profit margin because they are trade ins or from an auction. When was the last time you were given great money for your trade in? Rarely happens.... They give you next to nothing and turn around and sell the same car for thousands more. They were going to make money off financing my vehicle , the purchase price and maybe break even on the repair cost. In spite of this they would not budge. To make things worse Hector Medina was not even there. I dealt with Anthony who turned out to be quite nice and stuck in the middle of this mess.

Overall not what you would expect from a Toyota dealer. All the good reviews are clearly submitted by the company. Im sure they also pay someone to manage this because their performance leads to no other conclusion. Hector Medina sent me a text after it was all done saying he was sorry I missed this opportunity.. Interesting response that didnt address the real issues. Thats what you can expect here. Will share this and pictures with corporate.....

Was having a lot of trouble with my radio and GPS, she got them fixed. I went in for a periodic servicing, too. Got my car back faster than I expected!

Also received great customer service from Hector after we realized there was a tiny crack in the windshield only a few minutes after we had driven off the lot. He fixed it that week with no problem.

I've purchased two cars from them now and I can say I would be hard pressed to go anywhere else for a future car. I've had an amazing experience both times. They were incredibly straightforward and honored everything they said. One of the cars I purchased was new the other was used with some minor damage. They promised to fix the damage after I purchased the car and I was a bit skeptical that it would be done well, but they did an amazing job and got it done super quickly. They even offered to get me a rental car while it was in the shop. I was blown away by how well they handled this. Would highly recommend them to anyone buying a Toyota new or used!!!

Toyota Santa Monica is my go to dealership when I am getting anything fixed or just need my usual check in. This time around I had a few hiccups with my technician about my car coming back with a noise and he was telling me I needed to pay an additional fee to fix it. Unfortunately he argued back and forth that it was on me and I asked for the manager's card.

Long story short, I've never experienced anything like this at this Toyota location and I rarely call the manager. But I did and left a friendly voicemail just explaining what happened during my visit and the manager Jay called me back that next morning and told me they would take care of it right away and apologized for the inconvenience and misjudgment on the situation from their end.

4/5 stars because of the mishap, but almost 5 stars because they care about giving their customers quality service.

I came into Toyota Santa Monica 2 weeks ago to service my 2015 Toyota Corolla. I prioritize servicing my car regularly and made it clear that I was ready to have all recommended services performed on my vehicle. Realizing I hadn t checked my tires in quite some time, I asked Aaron if they could also check my tires in addition to receiving the 30,000 mile recommended service. Aaron was very kind and said it was already included as a part of the Toyota multi-point inspection. I picked up my car and paid nearly $700 yet was happy I wouldn t have to service my car for several thousand miles more. I returned home to realize that they hadn t mentioned anything about my tires and pulled out the documents summarizing my service to see what the results were from the tire inspection. At other Toyota Service Centers, I have been given a Multi Point Inspection paper summarizing their observations and with a detailed picture of the tire tread of my vehicle. It said inspected tires but there were no other details. I am not a car expert, but when I checked my back tires I noticed the ridges in my outer rear wheel were nearly smooth and flat. I took my car to Pep Boys and they were shocked at how worn my tire was. I would happily have paid for a new tire at Toyota Santa Monica but am most concerned they claim to have actually performed the inspection and did not bother to mention it needed to be replaced. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Attached is a picture of my tire.

The most irresponsible group of people I have experienced in my 20 years of car ownership. FIRST, they 'lost' my trade-in paperwork and never submitted it to Ford showing a change of ownership. I have had to fight for months proving that I traded in my Ford for a Toyota at this dealership. This 'mistake' had ruined my credit score for almost a year! After MONTHS of daily phone calls, someone from Corporate finally got in touch with me and provided the proof that Toyota was the new owner of my previous Ford. NO ONE from this dealer even bothered to call me and apologize for any of this ...
And now, when my Toyota lease ended and I returned the vehicle back in February, they AGAIN did not report that the vehicle was returned. I just heard from my credit watch company, that I have a 30 day past due filing from Toyota!
This dealership needs to be closed now immediately!

Great experience with Toyota Santa Monica! Just moved to CA and had to get state smog inspection asap so we could register our car. Joanna Tsymbaliuk (Asst Service Mgr) was right on top of it, got our car scheduled and certified right away!! Also had helpful suggestion to use AAA for DMV registration which saved a ton of time!! Toyota Santa Monica will be servicing our car from now on.

Erica Simons was the best! I booked a last minute appointment for oil change and because I couldn't open my hood (small oopsy accident with a wall). She was clear about pricing and what they could do at the service center and called me a Lyft so I could go to work. I don't have good cell reception at work so she was very good about sending me emails so I could call her. Overall, my baby has new oil (and new brake pads) and they figured out to open the hood. I had a great experience at Santa Monica Toyota. I took my car in for a 20K check up, still at no cost per the ToyotaCare complimentary plan. The Santa Monica Toyota service website made it easy to schedule an appointment at my convenience. My service adviser HOLLIE KAMINSKY was outstanding. She was very cordial and friendly and got me checked in and going within a couple minutes, all the while nursing a foot injury. She called me and I picked it up in the afternoon. Next stop, 25K at Santa Monica Toyota.

Just leased a Toyota Prius 3 with Sunroof. Absolutely adore the car. Handsfree is great, navigation, Entune system, voice commands. All great. The drive is nice and comfortable. Amazing amount of space both for passengers and cargo. Sunroof is a bit noisy on the freeway but you get used to it. But I love having the Sunroof. And did I mention Truman de la Cruz? Amazing salesman. Most enthusiastic salesperson I've ever met. Always a smile on his face and happy to help you. He's not the typical salesguy in a cheap suit that you don't feel you can trust. I recommend you ask for him by name if you're interested in buying a car at that dealer. Overall a good experience. One piece of advice. Make sure you ask about everything they might offer you when you get in the finance guy's office to sign. Gap insurance additional fee, 2 services that are not part of the 2 year 25000 mile service coverage for a 3 year lease... Just make sure you're aware of everything before you agree to the purchase and agree on a price or payments. But I think I got a good deal. Very happy with the car.

Toyota Santa Monica is the place I go to for any service to my Prius. Brandon Donis took such good care of me this time around. I came in with a flat tire and he was unbelievably professional. He showed me all my options, and had my car serviced quickly and efficiently. They even took care of a Toyota recall wiring issue of which I was unaware.

I arrived 10:30 am and my appointment is at 10:45 am and here I continue that it is already at 2:20.

We've been taking to our car to Santa Monica Toyota for regular maintenance for the past ten or so years. The reason? The superb service and attention provided by the staff. Marlon Castillo has been taking care of us for years and he has never, ever given us anything other than outstanding service!

We always get our car back at the time he promises - if not earlier! Marlon always makes sure to answer every question and to address every concern. We will continue to bring our car to Toyota Santa Monica for as long as Marlon is there.

I came to your dealership with my Lexus to deal a new car with your dealership and return my leased car.Your financial manager john (who fired) promised me to help me to fix my Lexus before I Finance a new Toyota Corolla because he said: (I have been working for Lexus and Toyota for 25 years and I also had a leased Lexus), and Mr.Hamid who sold the car to me said don't worry we take care of you and help you to return your Lexus without any extra charge. He also told me they're not going to charge you anymore because you are dealing with Toyota again,and I trusted them because they were working for Toyota and I thought, toyota is going to respond about what they promised to me. I said ok let's go to check my Lexus. John and Hamid came with me to check my car. John said: your car is clean but you need to change your tires and your rear light and we paint your bumper and you don't worry about anything else because everything is perfect. I asked him more than 3 times: is everything else ok?
I told them that I don't have extra money to pay for anything else for that Lexus. please make sure about everything or let me show my car to inspector before I buy a new car but they didn't let me to do it and they told me:don't worry,everything is perfect let's go to finance your new car as soon as possible. I financed my new car. I also fixed everything that they said but I received 1700$ bill from Lexus after 4 month. They didn't respond about this happen after what their financial manager and dealer promised to me.their manager (Ross) said: leave the dealership and pay it with very frustrating reaction!That was my clear experience that I had but they didn't respond about this situation that their personnel promised because Hamid who even came with me to return my Lexus to Lexus Santa Monica didn't explain them the situation very well because he scared from his situation.

I am writing to complain about the customer services I had recieved at your Toyota Santa Monica March 23, 2019.
The salesman BEN GIRMAY was very unprofessional, unreliable and he was almost to kick me out of the dealership when I was there to buy the car, however I was planning to go to my appointment I recieved a phone call from Toyota Santa Monica, it was BEN the salesman he told me that the car we already talked about price, color and feature is ready to go and we have it in the inventory if you come now to take it! I cancelled my app and went there by uber to drive my new car back home.
when I get there he has increased the price, and showed me an other color, finally when I speak to his manager he was the way more unprofessional then BIN. ACTUALLY THEY ARE REPRESENTING THE TOYOTA DEALERS! I was really disappointed for the name of Toyota that who is representing this big company.
If this is typical of your usual standard of service I won't make myself down to come back again at your dealership.

I had an incredibly positive experience at SM Toyota when purchasing my Prius Prime. My salesman, Meyer Cohan, was so knowledgeable, kind and went out of his way to insure I got the best deal possible. The service advisor, Guillermo Galicia, was efficient and very thorough in explaining all my options and was also a pleasure to work with. It was clear that customer service is a priority for SM Toyota and I left satisfied and happy to give them my business.

I've been shopping for a 2020 RAV4 Hyrbid. I visited Toyota Santa Monica's website and looked at their inventory. For each car they have posted "Our Price" (i.e., the dealer's price), and, as usual, a notation that it does not include tax, license and fees. I expect such costs to total approximately 10% of the final price, which can vary a bit based on the final sales price.

When I contacted the dealer and asked for an emailed quote, I was SHOCKED to learn that their "fees" included a $3,000 "markup" above MSRP, as well as a $795 "LA CAR GUY" fee, and a $495 "DPR" fee. I phoned and asked a sales manager (Hector) about this, and his reply was that you would learn about this when you came to the dealership and saw the window sticker on the vehicle. What a wonderful surprise awaits potential customers.

I will never do business with anyone engaged in such misleading pricing practices. It is shady and seems like a "bait and switch." So, be careful if you decide to car shop with Toyota Santa Monica.

ADD: I subsequently received a call from the general manage, Joe Magana, He explained that Toyota corporate will not allow dealers to reflect added local fees and costs (e.g., locally installed upgrades, like custom wheels) on their website prices. I do not know about this. Other brands will let you see the actual window sticker on-line, which is perfect transparency. He who was willing to waive the "markup," which I appreciated. When I asked about the factory lease program offer, he told me that because the vehicle is so popular, no one will meet the factory offer, which seems like a bait-and-switch between the corporate website and local dealers. Because of Mr. Magana's call, I am raising my rating by one star.

I was very impressed by the exceptional treatment I received at Santa Monica Toyota when I came to buy a new car. I met Alaint Oliva who exceeded my expectations in every aspect of the buying process. He was knowledgeable, courteous, very helpful and patient. Most importantly, he never pushed me or tried to offer the standard rhetoric of a typical salesperson who takes advantage of his customers. This review is specifically for Tony Doyle. I have spent a few months searching for a specific Tacoma. Never knew just how on demand these trucks are! I have dealt with about 4 different dealerships and can whole heartedly say that I was treated by far the best by Tony and SM Toyota. Tony truly worked his best to keep what is right for me in mind. At one point my deal wasn t going to happen and he called me with the news. Instead of breaking the news with a negative undertone, he explained in the kindest and most positive way. Make no mistake about it- Tony is a salesman, but also someone who keeps the customer in mind and what will be best. My family has bought cars from him and now so have I. I LOVE my new Tacoma and will be a customer of Tony s as long as I am in a Toyota.

I researched several places and the level of service that this dealer provided greatly surpassed its competitors. The staff was very helpful in helping me choose the right car for my family and I. The guy who checked me in was friendly; he greeted me with a smile which was nice. The guy who took my service order was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. My service was quick and the waiting lounge was nice. They had free donuts, bagels, coffee and the bathrooms were clean!

I am so very impressed by Mayer Cohan of Santa Monica Toyota. I commute to the OC four times a week and the carpool sticker on my CNG vehicles expired. I had been looking at other options, but it was never easy getting clear answers. My husband told me about the Toyota Mirai and I found online that Santa Monica Toyota had some. I called, got in touch with Mayer immediately and he told me all I needed to know on the phone. My husband and I went in on the afternoon of Christmas Eve (not great timing, but due to some family circumstances the only day we had!) Mayer is incredibly knowledgeable about the car. He stayed late on Christmas Eve to give me a tutorial! I am pretty much sold on Toyotas, having had them most of my life. We got a really good deal on this "car of the future."
