Trung Tran is the salesperson you need to go to at Toyota Santa Monica for excellent customer service. I went in with my wife to turn in our Toyota RAV4 and was expecting to leave the dealership after completing that transaction. Trung answered all our questions about the Sienna and I presented my amazing lease offer from another dealership for a Honda Odyssey LX. He worked with his sales manager to get as close to the Honda offer as possible. Also, there were some retention discounts that made my decision to stay with Toyota an easier one. At the end of the day, we drove away with a 2015 Sienna L at a very good lease price. Trung was the difference. Any other salesperson would have looked at the Honda numbers and let me walk. I don't enjoy the car buying process, but Trung was able to make it a smooth and bearable event. Thank you!
I made a reservation online to make sure I could get serviced as soon as I drove in. Within just a few minutes of arriving, Juan came out to greet me. In the past I have had to ask for someone to help me. He entered my vehicle information on his tablet and then proceed to use his tablet to walk around my car to take photos. For some reason, I never noticed this before. Juan explained they have been recording this way for a couple of years. It is faster and more efficient than entering damages by hand. He also explained what was still covered under my two year free maintenance and that an wheel alignment was recommended at this servicing and what it would cost. So no surprises after I left. I hate it when they call you to say they forgot to mention a particular service was needed when they knew this when I was in their shop. I was in and out after about 15 minutes. I did not wait around for my car. Juan called and left a message that my car was ready. Considering my past experiences with Toyota, this was one of the best. Thanks, Juan.

Horrible service!! More than six months passed since purchasing a used car from Santa Monica Toyota, I still don't have my title. They claim they will get back to me have someone call me, but they never do. After weeks of emails and trying to call them, I'm still waiting.
My girlfriend and I recently took our new Rav-4 in for a technical problem we were having. We went in and saw Chris Rinker. He took care of us right away and was very friendly. He was very clear with us about the time frame it would take to get the repair done and got us in and out very quickly. Chris called us a few hours later to let us know the repair had been done and that we could pick it up at our convenience. We were really impressed how fast the repair had been done! We will definitely come back to this dealer for any future work that needs to be done on our car thanks to Chris Rinker and the Toyota Santa Monica service team!

Toyota Santa Monica sent me a quote from Edmunds. It was slightly better than quotes from other dealers, but the thing that made me decide to go there was the straightforward dealings from the Santa Monica contact, David Gray. He answered all my email questions, including a full break down of costs. When I arrived there, he showed me the same numbers and we quickly closed the deal with no surprises. Except that I was surprised how easy and clean it was.
I was very impressed both by the dealership and by David Gray.
Aweful service! Bad attitude from beginning to end! The service department is closed all weekend and at 5:00pm during the week (breakdowns don't have office hours!!). Would not accomodate late pick up or need for out-of town customers, especially as they are the only Mirai dealer in the LA area!

Aaron Wimberley helped me out, and it's probably the only reason I'm giving 5 stars. While I've previously had rather unprofessional people help me when attending this service location, he finally set the bar high. There was a ton of maintenance to be done on my car, and the total was quite high, so he prioritized what I should get done first (rather than paying to have it all done at once). Of course it was insanely expensive ($150 for an oil change!) so I will most likely be going elsewhere for other services. But if I had to come back here again I hope I have another capable person helping me out.
They were really convenient and set me up immediately even though I brought it in at the last moment when I saw it needed the maintenance review on it. Thomas Soveg was really helpful at making sure it was all ready and done by the next day which was very much appreciated as I needed it for work. Thank you!

It was a full team effort to get me my new car. I was very uncertain on the decision to lease vs. buy. The Santa Monica team: Chris Baldonado, Joe Magana, Joey Haro, and many more were all-stars. They did not try in push me in any direction or even to specifically get a car through them. The team was extremely generous, reliable, and timely. Within one day I was able to trade in my old vehicle, get a new car, and feel extremely happy with my experience (when does that ever happen during car purchases??). I would recommend Toyota Santa Monica above any other location is Los Angeles. It's a hard city to find trust worthy people who are looking out for your best interest. If you're uncertain about any decisions, go to Toyota Santa Monica.

I called Mr. Mark Ashtini at this dealership, negotiated the price over the phone, and that is all it took to get the car that I wanted. Where the other dealers will insisting me to come into the dealership for the negotiations.
This was a truly unbelievable experience as I do not like the idea of sitting in the dealership and going back and forth with the sales, sales manager, and all.
I started coming here since I bought the car, I don t know anything about cars Like literally nothing. So every time the sign that said maintenance required in my car would come up I would make an appointment and come here. Every time I came to get service I told them I was here to get service they took the car they told me they would do the service, I would wait and they would give me the car back at the end they told me this got done sign here. This happened over 3 to 4 times over a year same story they NEVER EVER explain properly you know what you have this many miles this other things also has to be done and changed literally the first time they told me was after 40000 miles when they broke it down and told me you have never done any of this other things that you where supposed to be doing it in your past visits.... If the workers who helped me every other visit where doing their job properly and informing me of all this other things that had to be done I would of known! But hey they are very quick to point out that they are not responsible because I signed off liability etc etc . Look I wouldn t be mad if they where not lazy to explain every time you visit EVERYTHING THAT HAS TO BE DONE TO THE CAR. I agree that it would perfect to get something done every time you visit you don t have to do it all at once. But this guys don t explain it, i get it that for them might be obvious because the paperwork is something they work and know how to read but for me I see the paper work and I don t understand a dime of what it says so I go with what they tell me If they tell me okay we are done with what the car need it I ll be okay thank you and I ll sing. Ugh, an othe time The engine of the car was making noises so we kept bringing the car and telling them the car is doing weird noises and they literally would send us back home and say we cant do anything because the car is not sending a message, the problem got worst and worst the car literally would turn off and make horrible noises we brought it but since the car wasn t sending a message they send us back home! We literally had to record what the car was making and bring it to them so they would finally believe us and they end up having to change the whole engine!!!!!!! The point of this review is that this people need to give better customer service and actually explain everything EVERYTHING EVERY SINGLE visit. specially because most people don t know anything about car so we trust them when they say that they did what car need it and that s why we sign before we leave.
Horrible customer service when it comes to informing you what has to be done and explaining. I am not the only one, you can find other reviews pointing out this same problem. This is a recurring problem at this place.
I found their staff to be friendly and not pushy. I liked that their "fees" including Doc fees amongst others, only added up to $130 or so.

Had a great experience leasing our new vehicle here. We only had to visit once and got an amazing deal. This location did not feel like the other car dealerships I've been to. There was less pressure and the salespeople seemed to care more about the customers than most. I only wish the customer parking were better advertised and had more room, but that is to be expected in this area.

Had a great experience getting an oil change, Eddie Sandoval among the other Toyota employees were extremely gracious and attentive. I was able to drop my car off without an appointment, the job was done in a few hours--perfect for fitting this into my work week. Excellent customer service.
I bought a car from them and just asked them to give me a copy of it, they promised to email it and never do it, I called them several times and no one especially Gene and store manager not responsible, poor customer service and terrible experience with them, they just want to sell the car and not answer you after it.

Joseph Hernandez is the best person you can deal with when getting your car serviced at Toyota Santa Monica. I was assigned to him by chance, but wrote down his name and will request him from now on when i service my car in the future. He was expedient, communicated clearly, gave me simple instructions about how to claim my car when it was done, and followed through with texting me as soon as my car was ready. Dealing with Joseph was the best service experience that I've ever had at Santa Monica Toyota, and I've been going there for about 10 years. He actually seemed to care about doing a good job and being a good guy.
Heath was INCREDIBLE to work with. He returned my calls promptly, answered my questions clearly and gave me lots of choices about how to address what was needed for my car. It is because of people like Heath that I always go back to Toyota Santa Monica even though I live in the valley!

I have been coming for 3 years. They always get the job done reliably but it is pricey, compared to what I was used to in San Diego. They would be 5 stars except for the price. I love the concierge lyft feature to get you to work and back to the dealer. If you can work with Chris Rinker, you'll be treated well!

I have excellent experiences returning to the Toyota Santa Monica dealership for regular service and maintenance on my Prius. In particular, I was very happy with the prompt, knowledgeable assistance I received from Assistant Service Managers Douglas Elliott and Manny Fernandez. They have both been remarkably helpful and well-informed, making sure that my service appointments run on time and calling me as soon as my car is ready for pickup. In addition, I was notified by the car manufacturer of a safety software update for my vehicle, but when I brought my Prius in for servicing a few months later, I found out that the Toyota Santa Monica Service Center had already performed the software update on my last visit. This speaks to their organization and competence. I feel great about the service here and highly recommend you ask for Douglas Elliott or Manny Fernandez when booking your appointment.
I had my 20K check there. Chris Rinker was helpful and friendly. He/they would remind you with text message about your appointment. And the service was very quick. It took only about 1.5 hours. I needed a touch up paint and Chris took time to get the color for me in the service department. Thank Chris.
Do not trade in or sell your car to these guys. Check out Trade in solutions and you will see the difference. Haggling is no longer the name of the game. I sold my car to Trade in solutions for way more than these guys offered.
I've been patient, but the place is extremely poorly managed. Talked to a few reps on the phone over last 3 days, they they they will transfer to a manager to fix my issue with Toyota financial services. He's unavailable 3rd day in the row. They get my information and tell me he will call me back. He never does.
I returned my car as a lease end on January 30th of 2018 put a signature on paper that everything is paid in full, no balance left. Toyota financial services keep calling me that I didn't made a payment for a late payment, bcuz they processed my lease end on February 12. This is outrageous. Get new staff

Bought a 2012 Scion IQ this past Sunday from Justin Underwood and he was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and extremely courteous with me. Took me on a very thorough test drive and I outlined what I wanted to pay and my expectations and he took care of me which I appreciated. The overall experience was good and I got the car I wanted from Toyota of Santa Monica. He gave me his card and asked to call with any issues I had which I am fortunate to say I have not had. I would totally recommend this dealership and ask for Justin as he knew his stuff and treated me like a customer instead of a sale which other dealerships (Cerritos Toyota) can do to customers. As a consumer who enjoys customer service and hates it when a dealership makes it like they are doing you a favor by selling you a car it's nice to know that SMT still does it right. The experiences I have had at Toyota Santa Monica with the service department have been pleasant. The first time I went there I was help by Erik Orellana, he was knowledgeable with the type of services my Prius will be needed and was sincere. Every time the Prius is due for service I make sure to schedule an appointment with Erik Orellana, we discuss the best plan for my vehicle according to the mileage on it. My vehicle is a working car so it is very important to me for it to be running great.
I have a Prius that was in need of some work and DALE STRAUF was absolutely amazing to work with. He walked me through my options and was very patient as I decided what route I wanted to take. I was able to get my car fixed up good as new and felt that I got a fantastic deal. The project was completed much more quickly than I anticipated and there is no doubt on who I will go to for my Toyota work from now on. Thanks DALE!

I recently went into Santa Monica Toyota to buy a 2013 Prius II. Esther and Charlie both were awesome and helped get me a deal on the Prius II that was far better than any of the other dealerships I visited. They were really informative and ultimately helped me get the car I wanted. I'm loving my new car, and I highly recommend this dealership!
Where do I start? I bought a certified used 2016 Prius. Met sales rep close to closing time. Felt super rushed the entire time. Felt like they just wanted to go home. Finance guy was really cool but that was it. At the end car was brought out to me, quick hand shake, a thank you and that was it. No tour of the car nothing. Well May 19th, THREE days later the car wouldn't START! Called sales rep and felt like I was bothering him. He told me to call Toyota Roadside Assistance. They were a nightmare as wel . Ended up calling AAA and having it towed to a Toyota that's closer to me. Ended up being the battery. Now it's making a CLUNKING sound when turning wheel at low speeds. Wrote general manager a complaint email and havent heard a peep since. Not even a follow up to see how the car is or even an apology for the inconvenience. Stay clear of this place. They act like they care but they really dont. I will never go back!

I had an absolutely seamless and helpful experience with Louie Ramos, an assistant service manager, at Toyota Santa Monica. Dropped my Prius off at 9:30am for a software update due to a recall and also a routine maintenance and it was ready to be picked up before noon.
We were treated very well. We had made prior contact with dealership thru CarPro program as well as having contacts with ownership (friends & family).
Alejandro Ramirez was the salesperson assigned to guide us thru the process and keep us comfortable. Joe Magana was the original contact person and he greeted us upon arrival and also was a great help thru out the entire process.
We also got great service after the sale as we discovered we had left some CD's (still in the player) in out old car. Alejandro tracked down the CD's and made sure they were shipped (at no cost) to us.
Overall a very comfortable experience.
If you are going to get a car from Toyota Santa monica, Nima mousavi is your guy. I have been to every car dealership around here and never seen someone so kind. If you are aware I said kind not nice because there is a difference. When someone is nice, they are just putting up an act to earn your business but, when someone is kind that comes from heart. Long story short, go to Nima and he will do everything in his hand to get you the best deal possible and hand you the keys with no headache.
