Over crowed. Not family friendly. We came here with our 2yrs old, couldn't find a place and left. I saw a women with a tray of plates, carrying her baby on her back with a carrier walking back and forth for a long time trying to find a seat.
Lots of people who doesn't have a plate yet just occupy the table waiting for their friend to get food.
In all, this is a good place for people watching and not to eat.

Excellent market! You can eat chef cuisine with reasonable prices! Suits people who are traveling alone as well.
I have also tested the Mantageira pasteis, in my opinion too sweet compared to the one you get in Belem.

Great place to eat and spend time. Lot of restaurants and eateries with different cuisine. Only thing is that seating is not comfortable as there are high tables and chairs. Could be crowded and noisy during peak hours and wait for the seating and food may be longer. Overall nice spot to enjoy if you are a foodie and don't mind rubbing shoulders with others..!!!

We went at 10pm on a Monday and it was jam-packed!

Stall: Henrique sa Pessoa

Stall: Le E clair Patisserie Francaise
We ordered a Limao which is a lemon eclair with Sichuan pepper glaze, merengue and lime biscuit. Sounds crazy exotic but tastes really good! Tastes like lemon sorbet. You don t taste the spice at all. Surprised that it was still so tasty since it was so late at night.

Wish we were hungrier or that we went with a bigger group of friends so that we could have tried more dishes! The lines in front of Alexandre Silvia and Miguel Castro e Silvia were the longest (the stalls are right next to each other).

A monument to the gentrification of Lisbon; Everything that's amazing about Portuguese food brought to one place made more uncomfortable and expensive. I mean, why have your octopus in a nice chair contributing to one of the thousands of restaurants that made Lisbon the kind of place that now attracts the massive cruises, when you can pay double, to eat it in a hot dog bun sitting in a noisy stool...?

While we're at it, let's all share a minute of silence for the poor Timeout souls who have to work in the middle of that. What monster came up with that open office idea I wonder.

The market is a perfect place to grab food for lunch or dinner. It's like cafeteria style where everyone can go to a different venue and bring back food to communal tables. It can be difficult to find a table for more than 2 people. There are staff who clear the tables but they are busy. The prices are cheaper than tourist restaurants but slightly more expensive than a hole in the wall restaurant. It's accessible and easy to get to as it's located in the city centre.

Huge selection of stalls offering wide selection of local (and not so local) delicacies. Pick and mix for adults! Some have restaurant style seating and others share central benches. Often busy. Entertaining place to eat and drink

Outstanding enclosed market with a multitude of high quality food options to suit all palates. There is a wonderful atmosphere as locals mingle among communal tables. I went several nights in a row with my young family and we all wanted to go back.

You can get some great food here, but I'd only recommend as a place to visit once during off-peak times. It's simply too busy and overpriced for what it is, which is essentially a canteen style eatery. It's too loud (and far too warm in the summer!) to be able to properly enjoy the food.

Cool place and very trendy. Didn't give it 5 stars as it's way too crowded for my liking and very expensive. Cool place to socialise but bring some extra cash with you. Lots of food and drink choices

Such a great experience! You have plenty food places to choose from, each better then the next. We had fish soup and octopus which was handa down one of the best ones I've tried in my entire life (and I had planty). We also bought "the wine experience" where they give you a plate of 5 different Portuguese wine to try out. Cost abut 16 but it is well worth the price.

Interesting and trendy place. Not expensive, not cheap, where people of different nationality meet each other and try different cuisine local, Italian, French, Asian etc. A place where you can meet locals too.Good place for social contacts where you can feel the vitality of Lisbon.

One of the places to go, can be pricey however it is a nice and dynamic atmosphere with many different restaurants and food to choose from! It is quieter in the morning and only a couple places are opened for coffee and snack, there is however a market where local produce (fruit and veg) are available. I would recommend that you have a look for yourself!

It is a very vibrant place to go for food, it was very busy when we went but we had to go to see for ourselves. The prices all vary but they all looked delicious, there was even a children's cooking class on, they were making Portuguese tarts. I highly recommend you visit this place.

Very touristy place. If you go in peak time periods, it's a food court style so it's very difficult to get seating. The stands offer a variety of food (not much is authentic) but they offer different cuisines if you're not after authentic. If everyone wants something different it's ideal, otherwise book yourself into a lovely Portuguese restaurant, enjoy being seated with some lovely authentic food!

I went here with 6 friends as part of a group trip. It s perfect for a group because everyone got to pick the food they wanted and we could still sit together. The more adventurous in our group could try new dishes and those who wanted to play it safe could do so. Win win!

Highly recommend if you re in Lisbon

Tourist trap place. Long lines, no where to sit when busy. Don't eat at "Sea Me". Service is poor. The attendant continued his conversation with his friend the security guard for ages before I intercepted to make my order. And I was the only one standing there lining up, trying to get this attention (friday night august 3rd 10pm)

Also they use bulk packet octopus- not fresh.

The most disappointing meal in Lisbon was had here. Sea Me advertises that their specialty is tomato rice with cod.. i was served a small dish of boiled tomato water with plain rice (it was obviously just boiled separately and chucked together because I could taste the boiled rice water amongst the plain tomato water "soup") It was disgusting that they thought they can serve someone this and charge 9.5 euros. The french couple across from me commented how terrible my meal was after I had 1 spoonful and disgarded the rest. I agreed.
It was bland and not worth my time and money.

I enjoyed the market a lot! I got to try a bunch of different things, and they were all really good. I mean...the octopus hot dog was a little out there but it was delicious! We didn't have any trouble finding a seat, but we went during the week, and January is the off season for Lisbon. We did this intentionally though...less people around!!!

Really nice market where you can eat a lot of different specialities from Portugal or dishes from other countries (Asian food, pizza, etc).
It's quite hard to find a seat because the place is quite crowded so I would recommend to come early.

Our trip to Lisbon was 5 days and we ate at this place 3 times, which showed how much we really enjoyed the variety and choice available to you. From traditional Portuguese food to Asian cuisine, this place offers so many different types of food, with many using sea food. Please make sure you try the dessert. I forgot the name but it's the one near the corner of the main entrance. It makes honestly the singlehandedly best chocolate cake you'll ever have.

Amazing place! Lots of local and famous chefs and restaurants. You choose what to eat, pay, and get a place to seat, in the middle of the market (the restaurants are in the perimeter). Really good food at a good price, and you can try diferent food from diferent places in the same location.

Place with typical Portugese foods, as well as crafts and drinks. Although it can be very crowded, the atmosphere is fun. Famous local chefs serve affordable dishes, so you can enjoy their unique food creations.
