Good food and atmosphere but don't go during main lunch or dinner times as it is packed with tourists. All other times it is an enjoyable atmosphere with great food options
Good food and atmosphere but don't go during main lunch or dinner times as it is packed with tourists. All other times it is an enjoyable atmosphere with great food options
Very, very busy. It was quite difficult to get a seat as well. The food itself was very nice though and I enjoyed the experience.
It's kinda a ripoff,
You should definitely try to walk a bit more and try real stuff
This place has everything you need if you are looking for good food. It is like a concentration of most good restaurants in Lisbon. It is obviously crowded, but it is for a reason. The food is really nice anywhere, the access is really easy by bus, train or metro and you have a lot of famous sights near it.
Great food and gourmet atmosphere. If I lived in Lisbon I would go there very often!
Time Out Market is an indoors marked multiple small food stands ranging from seafood to pastries and coffee. There are plenty of tables to enjoy your food. Market itself was very clean and had a festive atmosphere with lights and music.
Pretty cool place with so much choice of food and drinks!!
Wonderful food, fine cuisine, at fair prices. I have never thought a foodcourt can have such a qualitative food and wine option. Extremely crowded starting with 1 pm until the evening. The toilets are not enough for all the people, so the soap and toilet paper finish rapidly. Nice atmosphere, you can meet great people here and chat.
Go there. Good food, good vibe, a lot of good typical Portuguese addresses in one single market. Try "sea me"'s tuna sandwich...
We went there 2 days in a row, food options are just crazy.
Being a market you can find some really nice restaurants from famous Portuguese chef's to eat good food in a cool environment, although sometimes you need to be pacient to find a table.
Extremely good food, a lot of variety and to choose from
Victim of its own success: almost always way too crowded. Apart from that it's possible to choose (mainly) among a great variety of Portuguese design cuisine. A traditional market is also inside still known by its ancient name: Mercado da Ribeira (River's Bank Market)
Interesting place. A lot of vendors with really tasty food. Huge area.
Very nice to walk around and see what they have to offer, so many choices. Downside to this place is that even though there's a lot of seating, it is communal, and very busy at all times so you could be walking around with your plate of food for ages until you find a spot to sit. Food was okay, not so special.
Fancy food, both traditional and innovative. Lots of choice, a bit short of sitting places.
Enjoyed breakfast, lunch & dinner here last few days. On our last night ate here, good food, then had a scooter ride for 30 mins. On way back stopped to use the loo, I went first, announcement that 10 mins till close. People still eating, I come out, my husband goes in. Next thing 3 'security gaurds", I use the term loosely, push him out and one kicks him. I get my phone out and as soon as I do one of these 'big men', again, term used loosely , pushes my phone away!
Someone more senior comes out and sees sense and tells them to stop.
WARNING... don't go in or near security later in the evening as clearly their temperment changes.
On this basis we will not be going back there and won't recommend it to friends as clearly they don't know how to do their job!!
Nasty bunch!!
Super cute!!
Nice box restaurants.
But very tourist place.
Great place but too many people and it was impossible to find a place to enjoy your food
Very much caters to the tourists. Over priced and completely packed with people. I d still recommend walking through to check it out but there are so many great food options around I don t think I would eat here.
Clean stylish market with lots of choice, but best to come in early if you want a place to sit. Nice experience, recommend eating some bacalhau.
You have to choose wisely! But it s a good atmosphere in there. I d definetely repeat
Not the cheapest lunch but very good quality at each vendor we tried. Go early if you want to see the fresh produce, lunchtime if you want to eat
Really good spot if you have no idea what to eat... here you will get the idea with fresh food and nice vino ;)
Not what I expected.
The food options looked fantastic but I was too busy being stifled by the throngs of people.
A definite tourist hotspot that is probably worth a look but that's about it...unless, of course crowds and long table waits are your thing.
Love the Time Out Market! We actually went back 3 times so we can try more dishes! The market is right by the train station! We love the sardines and cods. I also had sushi and poke bowl and they were so fresh and reasonable prices. You can also by nata aka egg tarts as well. Make sure to stop by the bar by the wine store. The bartender Mark was awesome! We enjoyed our port wine tasting!
Loved it. Buzzing atmosphere, great food and amazing vibe
Particularly designed for tourists. High prices, but average food quality. Will not recommend for any friends. Bad service, too busy, too crowded. Don't have to worry about business. Plenty of tourists.
Exciting atmosphere - like one great party. Amazing range of street-food
Premium food court. Something for everyone. Highly recommended!
Loved the variety and the feeling! Definitely worth a voisit.
We went back a few times because there is plenty of choice. Nice range of traditional and innovative cuisine. Everything we tried was freshly cooked so you are given a buzzer to collect. Makes coordinating a bit of a challenge. Also seating can be at a premium. Good national tarts.
Great selection of good quality food. Nice atmosphere. Great to meet other people.
WOW what a find to much to say. If you're only in Lisbon for a few hours it's a must visit.
Awesome food hall. Crowded on fridays with tourists and even locals, still ok as you have many seats... the vibes are good, food (burger) was awesome and we had a live band playing which made the whole experience epic!
Anything you could possibly wish to eat and drink. What a great idea!
Love the concept! The atmosphere is great with all the people dining together on the large tables. In the middle are some TV screens that were playing the World Cup soccer games. Prices are absurd though, but it's a once in a lifetime experience. Fish, meat, Vega, sushi, everything was possible and the desserts and santori ice-cream where the best!
The Thai curry from the Chinese market was delicious. Make sure to grab a bock to enjoy with it!
If you have a lot or only limited time, lunch at this open market style food court is a must when you are in Lisbon! Assortment of one hundred mini restaurants serving authentic, high quality and freshly prepared appetizers, meals, desserts and drinks in almost any option you could wish for. We returned multiple times to try everything. Super crowded family style table and counter seating is part of the frenzied "food for all" ambiance. To burn off all of the calories, it is located near a beautiful walking path along the Lisbon harbor.
What a cool place. 6 piece sashimi sampler was delicious. Beer was refreshing. Great place for a snack, a meal, a drink and to hang. There are so many places to try it would take weeks and weeks to enjoy them all. There are two Michelin star chefs in here and all the stalls are super well vetted. Great any time of day.
Super easy place for a really nice bite to eat. Kind of expensive for lisbon but still really good.
Great place for a quick eat. Relatively cheap (you should look for at least 12-13 euro for a lunch with a drink) and huge range of dishes. Stunning!
Should expect queues on NYD but still found places to seat 8! Will be back
Very good and really fresh food. But very crowded and very touristic. Expensive but a must.
A really nice place where you can eat whatever you want or drink with friends.
Great place to meet and try lots of different foods.
I was so looking forward to visiting this market as it s in almost every must-do list for Lisbon and was thoroughly underwhelmed. The atmosphere and buzz were, admittedly, wonderful and it is housed in a beautiful space. But the quality of the food fell short of expectations. I had crisp pork belly and clams on potatoes and other than salt and a sprinkling of cilantro, there was no seasoning, no flavouring, so it was just meh and oily. My husband had a vegetable pad thai that was mostly sprouts with an unfamiliar soy sauce-based sauce rather than the traditional tamarind-based sauce. My kids had satay chicken skewers that had a peanut sauce that tasted overpoweringly of turmeric, which muddied the flavour of the dish. They also had a lemon eclair for dessert that had a filling that tasted like a block of sour butter. Also, the wait for the food was excruciatingly long. It took 25-30 minutes to get an order for a California roll (with tuna instead of crab??!!!) at a stand with no line-up. We live in Vancouver, where world cuisine is plentiful, extremely well-executed and relatively cheap so maybe we ve been spoiled. As a side note, the attached fresh fruit and vegetable market was pretty dismal. Maybe we went on the wrong day (Wednesday morning), but there was not a lot of selection and was thinly populated by vendors, but I found the fresh seafood stalls to be very interesting.
Very nice and lively place. Combines restaurants with food market. Packed with tourists for lunch.
Great trendy chic market place with delicious local food stalls for all palates in the afternoon and evenings. Wonderful atmosphere. In the AM it's an actual market place.
A must when you're in Lisbon. Offers all the local specialties that you might dream of, including the crispiest pasteis de nata you ever tasted!
Not bad not terrible. Open til late, many food and booze options
Great Selection of Restaurants and Cuisine right in the centre of Lisbon....well worth a visit.
I am being really generous giving it 3 stars. First of all it s definitely geared for tourists (nothing wrong with that), just an observation. It s really crowded and really hot(no AC). It s just like a big food court with less seating! You can easily get more authentic food experience elsewhere. Not recommended!
I see some state it's not authentic food, as I'm not local I cannot speak to that. I really enjoyed the pastries, especially the pastei. The other items I had were decent but not the best food I've had on my trip.
But it is a nice way to try lots of styles in a small area. There are pricy options and cheaper options, so it's really up to you how much you spend. I'll be going back for the pastei, so I think that says something good overall.
There is a show on Netflix called Somebody Feed Phil, this was his first stop on the Lisbon episode, if you want to see more about the place, you should check it out.
A very trendy place to eat. Hard to find a seat during the lunch rush. Quite the variety.
The best thing is a lot of people can be gather in an enclosed place - that is needed for travellers!
Food is better than expected. V. Satisfied.
A must whilst in Lisbon! The perfect place to spend an hour sampling various foods or just chilling with a glass of wine and listening to some music.
One of the best places in Lisbon! The food there is great ..
Must do in lisbon. Lots of food options and nice atmosphere. Definitely a must
So much choice at good prices. Can get a bit crowded. Great way to discover Portuguese food. Ask for suggestions of what each stall does best.
Absolutely awesome place to visit for lunch in Lisbon.
Amazing atmosphere and great variety of good food..
Loved it.
Touristy and crowded - not authentic, but convenient for some quick food.
Well time out market. You have provided a great space for the local chefs to showcase their talent. Super clean and chilled area. Try the gin.
This is the place to eat in Lisbon. I've been here at least 5 times and every time I am surprised by the options available. Plenty of seating in the centre, otherwise I also like to order takeaway and eat it across the road along the waterfront.
Looking for a place to eat in Lisbon?
It s here!! Do not miss Time Out Market! Instead, come back here and eat at the places you couldn t the first time around!
Great place with a great vibe. I spilled my beer and a vendor filled it up for free.
Great variety of food selections, including vegetarian choices. Could be hard to grab tables in the evening during rush hours.
Big variety of choices in what to eat!
There are restaurants, cafes and sweet shops.
You have to take a look!
a paradise to me. good exeprience, a lot of different food and drinks, tables are to share, perfect to meet people
Did not know this was a magazine! Amazing foodie spot
Good "London popup style" market with plenty of different dishes. Nice for a quick bite for lunch. Usually very crowded, don't expect to chill out here.
The whole place is an intresting concept but needs proper ventilation and I wasn't lucky with my Portuguese duck rice (hard and dry )
this place has many restaurants offering great variety of food. The tables are in the center of the market and are common to all restaurants. The place is very frequented by tourists. The quality of the food is good but kind of fast food. High prices.
There was a good selection of different foods from sushi, pizza and soups. Also lots of fresh produce, fish and other items.
Buzzy trendy place but in afternoon no fresh food available
Lively with tons of options for great food and wine. Loved the lobster and loved the wine a little too much!
So many choices for good food. It can get pricey so keep that in mind. Buy a bottle of wine for the group and everyone go and grab something different to try.
Busy, but simply some of the best food you can taste anywhere in the world.Top chefs competing in one food hall is a recipe for some delicious bites. A must to check out at least once!
What a place to eat, fantastic if slightly more expensive than surrounding places. Well worth a visit, you will find all types of food to eat and you can accompany it with either a glass of wine, beer or spirit. When we visited it was televising the world cup so it was busy. Don't know what it is like normally
The food is overpriced and if you try fish that is not grill (there is only one place like this with prices over 20 eur) you will get food poisoning from fish that has been frozen more than a dozen times.
Advice:
Leave the food hole and walk 100m to the first Portuguese restaurant to eat well.
Good food, standard staff. Very busy scene so get ready to search for a place to sit!
