Great food, fun place, just sit back and enjoy. Not a place to go if you are in a hurry.
Food was great. Not very many people there. I can't wait for spring when we can set outside and eat crab cakes. That's what i had today but it was too cool to be outside.
Took my kids there on 8/8/2020. While the food was ok (at least the cod I ordered), the service was absolutely terrible. It took 1+ hour for the kids to get their orders of blue crabs and crab legs. The cod was very good but not alot for the price, which btw all of the food was overpriced. As an example, the crab legs are $25 per pound, and weren't any better than Giant which is $10 per pound. I don't think the ambiance if the riverside justifies the price. Also, our waitress was mostly nonexistant and, when she finally did arrive she explained that they had a large crowd outside to attend to, which apparently took precedence over our order. Funny thing is that during the end of our meal we left the table and i took my son to the restroom. When we exited our waitress was looking around for us to pay the bill as nobody was at the table and thinking we has ditched paying . I walked up to her and commented that her looking for us and bringing the check was the most attentive service we received all evening. Bottom line, nice place to drink a few beers but far too expensive and not worth the time.
One time I had a Grilled Cheese here and it tasted like Pickles. Disgusting.
Fried pickles, sea crackers (they are spicy!), crab cakes, clams, oysters, and scallops. Just try them all, you won't be disappointed. Everyone is really friendly including the owner. Portions are huge- be hungry when you get here.
Worst service ever and it essential even packed..I won't be returning
There food is always fresh and I've loved coming here when they throw party's.
Atmosphere and service was great. Food was only mediocre in my opinion... the tables outside we're kinda dirty and the plastic ware was surprising. View and live music made it worth the price, however.
Good place to enjoy with friends and family , good food and attention.
Been going hear occasionally for about 20 years. The quality of the food has diminished a lot. The service and management has become amateurish.Over priced and over cooked food which was served luke warm at best (how does that happen?). When we noticed that the scallops were missing from our platters we were informed that they were out of them. Waitress said she could bring us some extra shrimp but the manager literally nixed that idea because as he stated extra shrimp had already been added to the platters. Oh really! No need to go back
It's a seasonal place that has an amazing view of the Potomac and some good crab cakes. It's a little weird to get to, since you have to cross the railroad tracks and snake along a single lane path, but it's worth the trip.
Food is good, prices are good, drinks are good and also reasonably priced, and the staff is great. The seating area is by the dumpster though and the smell of crab shells rotting in the sun was pretty pretty bad when I went. I've only been once and most of my friends love the place so maybe it was a fluke or something, but everyone else that sat out there was complaining about the smell too. Every time the breeze picked up we had to hold our breath. I have a really strong stomach for that kind of thing which is the only reason I didn't leave but seriously though I doubt most people would put up with that.
I'm giving it 2/5 because honestly if the wind was blowing the other way the place would have been a solid 5/5.
A 5 does not come easily to me. This place is cool, VERY quirky, and fun. Beyond that the seafood is great. We concentrated on oysters, raw and fried. Atmosphere reminisent of a mix of the Bay and the Caribbean. Worth the crazy, windy journey!
Hard to find but the oysters were good. Limited selection of drinks. The waitress was friendly and service was quick. The place looks like an old seafood shack and there was quite a bit of outdoor seating.
As musician it was great the service great people friendly .
Great place to hang out with friends or family. I prefer to sit outside and as near to the water as possible. The food is amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful. Service was a little slow because they are very popular. I enjoyed watching and hearing the trains go by on the railroad track which is next to the restaurant. There is great music and an outside bar too. I've been here before and my visits are always wonderful. 5 stars all around.
Decent service but mediocre food at best. Oysters not shucked properly, frozen burgers, etc
It was very crowded, and not clean. When out waiter got to us, she was very quick, and paid little attention to us. And, when I got my root beer, it was half full. It was also very dirty, and the tables were full of grime, and were very sticky.
My experience at Tim's rivershore lodge was wonderful. I was a bit skeptical after reading the other reviews, but boy was I shocked! I enjoyed every aspect of this place. The food was great I highly recommend the crabs. Our server was promt and made you feel like you were at your local restaurant. If you ever are in Woodbridge this place is a must. Fair price, excellent food, and awesome view.Overall great experience.
A gem in the ruff. awesome food. This is the second time to Tims. I had fried cod the first time, which was delicious. I had a hamburger this time which was also good. This second trip my husband came along. He had the seafood combo. He said we need to come back here. prices are reasonable for the amount you receive. Dress is casual. But if you want to dress up go for it. I am a travel nurse and look for gems in every area I visit, and this is a diamond. Enjoy.
Great place for drinking and seafood favorites on the Potomac. Accessible via boat.
I went for the first time this past Saturday. The location was perfect on the water. The environment was good. It was super busy. We sat at the bar outside and it was so much fun. Parking is a bit of a nightmare. I took Uber and I could not find one to get back so I had to call a friend. They close somewhat early at 11pm. They had live music which was a nice touch. I really wanted to try their clam chowder but they didn't have any. Definitely going back.
Great food, comfortable atmosphere, and a staff that is second to none!
This place was horrible. I am not one to complain about a dining experience and normally when I write these it is so I can praise a place, but this place really takes the cake for being a horrible experience. Being a native to the area, I have always heard about Tim s Rivershore but never got the chance to visit it until this evening. I went with a few friends and asked for a single table to dine at. We waited over an hour for a table even though they had several available right up front on the deck, which is where we were asking to sit. Once we were seated, we were able to get most of our drinks within a reasonable time. Our waitress was very nice. However when it came time for the food we were severely disappointed. We waited over an hour for a single dish to come from the kitchen. There were entrees which took even an extra 30 minutes ontop. Mind you those meals that came out later were ordered at the same time as the ones that arrived earlier. Once the final meals were delivered, they were cold and very bland. We eventually asked to speak with the manager. We were given a bunch of excuses about how they just aren t optimized to serve large crowds. It was indicated that the food may have been cold as they just can t get it to the tables quick enough, which means it was just sitting around while I am salivating over my friends food. Honestly their excuses were unsatisfying and many people were just walking out from the lack of customer service. They eventually offered to comp some of our meals. When the comp came through it was just a few dollars which hardly helped as the food was already very overpriced. It would make sense if it was a busy evening but there were tables all around us without anyone at them. Overall it was a bad experience and I will not be recommending to any ever. I hate having to say negative things about any place as I know there are people who do care to make it nice but honestly this place just didn t care about its customers today.
AWESOME... TIM'S AT LAKE ANNA, what LAKE ANNA needed to complete it 2 thumbs way up TIM! way to go BROTHER!!
For the past 12 years i have been coming to Tim's. I keep telling my self I wont come back but I some how do. The service is always awful but I love the environment and setting. Service is always slow, food is hit or miss and take some time to get. Warm bottled beers. But I'm sure I'll be back again by land or boat. Please just invest a little Tim's has so much potential but lack of effort I feel to improve it. Jon taffer would love this place.
Food was great as always. Waitress, Maddie very nice, pleasant, attentive. But we decided to eat inside since it was hot out, thought sitting by window would be nice but the flies were horrible and biting our legs. We moved to another table, but still were getting bit, everything was so dirty. I will not be going there again.
Awesome scenery, it's a perfect escape from the DC area. The food is pretty good too.
A little off the beaten path but worth it for great seafood and atmosphere.
Fun times! The buckets...too much ice, too lil alchohol
For the most part, the food was good. I enjoyed the drink and sitting on the water better. I love seafood and I have just had better.
Gorgeous views, delicious food and friendly service.
Over an hour wait for fried pickles. Why? The kitchen is a little backed up. Server has only stopped by twice in an hour. Never again will we come back!
Get there early. Brings some friends. Make sure there is a designated driver. Order the all you can eat crabs and enjoy. Be sure to drink responsibly.
Six of us stopped for lunch. Minor issues getting the orders right. I had the Rockfish. Food was good.
The scenery was great! Food was basic, and a bit over priced. Pretty cool that you can drive your boat there but otherwise, nothing super special.
Nice atmosphere but the bartender had a very horrible attitude and her service sucked. Yup I'm the douche in the red flannel the night of 5/11/18 who you asked "what do you need?" as I patiently waited 15 minutes to get your attention just to order a drink. oh well never coming back to this "establishment" anymore.
Awesome place on the Potomac to get a bite to eat and drink.
This is probably my favorite seafood restaurant! All the food I ve had there has been absolutely amazing. Yesterday topped the cake when I hosted my friends bridal shower there. I had been dealing with one of the managers, Jamie, for a couple months & she was nothing short of amazing! She helped me with everything I needed! When we got to the restaurant our tables were already set up outside pretty much away from the noise inside and we had the perfect scenery to look at. Our waiter, Will, was over the top, the greatest! He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and kept all of us laughing throughout the afternoon. The staff is wonderful, the food is wonderful, the view is great. Highly recommended!
Great local place for all you can eat crabs, happy hour, hanging with friends. Noisy on Saturday, kids menu very limited...not suited to dining with small kids. Platters are overpriced. It was our first time so we didn't know what to expect. Overall... it's okay. But diner beware.
I always thought highly of Tims , but I hadn't been there in years . I went recently with my husband and it wasn't like the last experience a few years ago. The food was horrible and they can't make drinks well. The band was good but I don't see us going back again.
Came here last year, came back today with my cousin because I remember the good food. Didnt know they were closing & i miss the whole crabs!! Sad day!!
Place was Awesome!
Wanted to try something new and found a redneck yacht club in the process. Food was great, service was better, and the atmosphere was something I didn't expect in the pretentious NOVA.
We'll be back
Definitely out of the way. My friend asked if it was motorcycle friendly, and I'd say the restaurant is, but getting there is not. You have to cross railroad tracks and the road after that is rocky. The good is good and so is the service!
They got some interesting good tasting drinks. But everything in here is dingy and sticky. They had two fish options. TWO. HOW? The food was good and I'll give them that, but come on now...
Visiting this place is a great way to get stress free from the busy public. I enjoyed the environment and i am making this place my number one spot. Meddin was so active, hardworking and sensitive to my need. I wish to see her beautiful smile again.
Such a cozy place. Great food and service. Love this hidden spot!
Great place by the water but very, very crowded, parking horrific so be prepared to walk, food good but our total order came to us wrong, we kept it and dealt with it. Had been 2 yrs. Since last visit. Probably be another 2 going back!
Solid good time. Super casual, but parking is a bit of a nightmare. But you know that before you come and just deal lol
Just waiting for the weather to break again so I can get back on the river for the summer!
Service was crappy, all the servers look very dirty, the place is dirty, even the food is dirty. The only reason why i came is bc i could park my boat and even the dock is dirty! Food is not worth mentioning. If it wasnt on the water no one would go there. Keep yourself limited to bottle beer and just hang out!
I love the ambiance here. A great place to sit by the Potomac River and eat their crab cake sandwich. Family friendly, and regularly have live bands playing
Good food. So good that my wife was here Friday with her job and brought me here Saturday. Much busier on Saturday of course but worth it.
Always a great place to visit. Food was great so was staff. Tim was there helping seat people. I love seeing owners involved in the buisness.
This is the best seafood I've had outside of Japan.
Awesome all around. Recommend applying bug spray, long sleeves and no shorts or you will be eaten up by the bugs.
Always the best.all you can eat blue crabs.my favorite spot
We had a great time at Tim s Rivershore.Nyc Was our waitress. She was awesome ! We had some beers appetizers soup all of which was delicious- a great time again at Tim s Rivershore. Nyc, thank you very much !!!
Food is good. Very friendly staff. Live music and great ambient. I think they need to maintain it better. It's a very casual place which makes you eat crabs using your hands and get messy. We have been to Tim's 2 on the other side of the river which is much newer. We prefer this one because it's closer to our house. If you want a nicer Tim's go to Tim's 2.
This place is just a bar, the food SUCKS the prices for food are horrible, but if you are looking for a place to get a good cold mixed drink or beer and listing to live music it is not bad little weekend drinking spot. The crabs here are small and light all the prices for the seafood are way to high for the small quantity that you get. JUST A BAR AT BEST !!!!!!! GOOD LIVE LOCAL MUSIC!!!!!!
Last night on the River. Would have been my first time here. Very busy and bad weather coming so I decided to go to another place. I did hear he has 3 other restaurants so I'll try one of those.
I almost don't want to rate this place too high because some of the charm was that it was only about half 1/2 full. If this place was up by me (Arlington) it would be packed.
Wonderful staff, just so nice. Awesome meal and very adorable. Real quality seafood, not fried trash. I'm a big of a healthy eater and I was VERY happy with the offerings. Just a great quiet place to have a meal. I'll be back.
Great place to drink, eat, be near the water. Great location. Had their Crab balls, Hamburgers, hush puppies and small crabs and hit the spot! The parking structure could use some work but under the circumstances and railroad tracks being nearby it works.
Nice place to dine. U got to see the view of the river
Visited on 4/14/2018 - 5 stars because the drinks are DELICIOUS! Interesting location though, rIght on the train tracks. Need a bigger bathroom!
Beautiful place to bring the family to have some great food by the water!
