Now the food itself was EXCELLENT. They have an all you can eat snack bar with a large variety. But if you're wondering about the meat, all I can say is everything was FANTASTIC. Every meat was tender, juicy and full of flavor! My favorites were the Sirloin, Tri-tip and Fillet Mignon. Overall my experience here was wonderful and I plan on returning in the future, highly recommend :)

Absolutely incredible night, from the food to the service. Extraordinarily expensive, but definitely worth it, especially when the in-laws are picking up the tab... Put this on your bucket list.
Fantastic food. Waiter are kind and the food will never disappoint. However be prepared for quite expensive check at this restaurant. Prices keep rising... The view of central park is awesome. They are really cautious about allergies which I think is fantastic. The seafood is always fresh. I would recommend the caviar.
Every dish that comes up is highly regarded: the highest level of French cuisine, the restaurant service is certainly in place, and we feel very comfortable. The decor, atmosphere, service and food are excellent.
This was my first trip to Per Se after having dined at The French laundry well over adozen times, I was afraid it might not live up to the hype. Boy was I wrong! The same wonderful feeling of really being taken care of by the staff was evident thru out the meal. We were served close to 19 cousrse and had to pass on the final two dessert cousres. The wine list is much more old world then out west and the priceing is 20% higher in my opinion. A
The best French Food outside of France. Come here and eat and spend on some of the best food in the city. Come here for special occasions or to bring your hot date. You will thank me later.
Per Se is a five star restaurant for sure. We were made to feel very welcome and particularly because we had got engaged earlier in the day. Small touches like a personal congratulations on our menu and comp champagne etc. Very nice and thank you. Just two points to note for the management team - my partner and I have dined at every three star Michelin in Greater London and we noted that your wine pairing prices are extortionate. To have the entry level wines, cost as much as the menu is frankly bizarre . So this was a disappointment, and we had to opt for a bottle of wine instead, which detracted from the experience. The second point is the menu, as lovely and technical as it is, is too rich. Every dish had a creamy / buttery element. So by desert we both felt a little ill and not excited for dessert. The mini croissant and butter at course five was so random and probably pushed us over the edge.. Thank you to the team all the same.
You won't be disappointed , ever bite is as good as it gets a stunning display of art and food a lethal combination of joy and a sensational feast. Ambiance elegance and class. Should be on every ones bucket list.
Undeniably delicious food, but definitely not the 3 Michelin star experience we were hoping for. The staff was robotic (except for the sommelier), and the food while great was not innovative or special enough for the cost.
House of skewers is so underrated in this neighborhood. I really enjoy the food. It's amazing and the quality is awesome. Not to mention the family that run it are very nice and provide great service. I will definitely eat here more often than I already do
Perfect food in the perfect environment. My friends and I were anticipating going here for a few months. We finally were able to book a table and it was worth the wait!! One of the gems of NYC.
Yes, I know - I'm giving the illustrious Per Se four stars.
No, I'm not insane. I've dined at my fair share of excellent restaurants, given the fact that I'm nearing 60 Michelin-starred restaurants in NYC. And I know I'm not alone in saying this: Per Se has not kept up with the times. Yes, the restaurant has maintained its 3 Michelin stars and its Relais & Chateaux designation. Yes, it is helmed by esteemed Thomas Keller. But it is nowhere near the best.
In hindsight, I can say that the ambiance was spectacular, the service was more than satisfactory, and the food, while good, wasn't great. Given the accolades and praises that Per Se has received over the years, I expected something a little more exciting, innovative, and memorable from our meal, especially given the hefty price tag (of several hundred dollars) that it comes with. Perhaps my expectations going in were too high, but I'm glad nonetheless that I'm able to cross one more place off my list.
Service was great and the food is laid out very nicely, but everything was EXTREMELY salty. To the point where my throat was hurting. The desserts were nice though.
Believe the hype. Food here is difficult to top, and the service is impeccable, though the atmosphere is a formal (though that view certainly helps!). They appreciate the foodies who go for the joy of the experience, more so than the expense-account types there to impress. A terrific place to spend your bonus!
Per Se is a in a league by itself...I find it quite special. Restaurant nicely located in Columbus. Food amazing, wine great list scary, I recommend this place
Experiences are everything. I've been here twice and both times were well worth it. The food is phenomenal, nothing like it. The service, impeccable the location divine. Must go.
All dishes are superb! This place serves the best foods and yummy desserts! Salute to the chef who made the food, they're really great! Amazing service and well-trained staffs. I highly recommend this place and refer to my colleagues.
Exceptional. Food was just incredible. Service was great. I don t say this lightly, but that might be the best meal I ve ever had. I would highly recommend!!
Service was exceptional, the rest was alright. Very high expectations for the price you pay. Food was alright, nothing special- had better food at other places during the same trip. What really ruined the whole experience was a tiny piece of bread with butter which was one of the courses ... when you pay over $600 per person for a dinner, and get a piece of bread with butter it feels like you ve been ripped off .. the rest was alright, portions are super tiny and nothing special.
I am not generally somebody who dwells upon service at a restaurant, but the service here was incomparable. At a place like this you expect and recieve truly oustanding food, and extraordinary attantion. Per se however takes this to an unprecedented level. Love you guys!
Great meals create memories which last for a lifetime, and that's what you're getting at Per Se. Although we were treated to this meal, I was already running the calculations through my head for a second visit. Maybe I'd forego that night guard the dentist keeps harping about, or that February trip to Miami to get out of the cold. It's an experience that begs for another, and an accomplishment to the talented staff which makes it all possible.
I celebrated my champagne birthday here. I had a great experience, and I would recommend this place for a special occasion. They even gave me a little surprise at the end of my meal.
I celebrated my birthday here. I had an excellent experience, I recommend this place for a special occasion. They even gave me a little gift at the end of dinner.
The food is delicious. They offer a very interesting unique menu. The prices are super expensive but it is worth visiting this restaurant. The service is impeccable. Oysters are great. And there is a breath taking view of the city.
One of New York and the world's most prestigious restaurant, Per Se holds a 3 Michelin Star and "World's Top 50 Best Restaurants"(#11 as of 2013). Chef Thomas Keller has created another masterpiece under his name along with his legendary establishment, French Laundry. Per Se offers a spectacular view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. Amazingly crafty, fresh, decadent seasonal set menu during Lunch and Dinner created by Eli Kaimeh (Chef de cuisine) which will blow your mind. Servers on the floor were fantastic with world class service.
They get most things right... but not quite. Service is very ingratiating - charming but just a little over the top. The food is in fact wonderful (though I'm not a fan of French Laundry), but glassware is in need of more thought.
Food was amazing but outrageously expensive. I used to go to Cru when they were open and their tasting menu was $150 less per person and almost the same quality.
Not an average mouthful in sight! From amuse to petit fours, the food was sensational. The right mix of veg dishes to meat and fish. The staff couldnt have been nicer!
Avoid the breads, they are good, but simply make you uncomfortably full. The views are wonderful and the winelist is superb - pricey but some good bottles for affordable prices. Worth the struggle of getting a table.
Prices are steep, but for a truly indulgent seafood dining experience, Best Catch: 9-course Chef's Tasting Menu ($295) Thomas Keller, not much else needs to be said.
We came here for lunch and had a great afternoon. Whether it is service, wine, the taste of each dish or the restaurant environment, every detail is impeccable
One of the nicest restaurants I have ever been too, the food was extremely good and the service was even better. We got a private room and they had waiter's and waitresses always on hand to help us out and give us what we need. It was truly first class food with first class service.
This was a pleasant surprise, it's looks small from outside , but it was large when we walked in! Food delish! Drinks were good, we will make this one of our go too places! I ordered the " Chile relleno" it was delicious.
My wife and I went here to celebrate a major milestone in her career. The staff was the kindest, service was impeccable and the food was delicious.
This was our first fine dining experience. We were both very comfortable. For me personally, I m fine with any food as long as it s made well but this took food to another level. My wife doesn t eat red meat so the chef made a few special dishes. I ended ever main course. The desert was something that left a bit of a sour taste (one of deserts was sour) so pun intended. We are simple people, a good chocolate cake slice would ve done the trick for us.
We re grateful for the entire experience! Thank for a very memorable night and lasting memories Per Se!
Great dining experience as always. One of my favorite restaurants. Nice set up and great location. The atmosphere and service are exceptional. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my many dinners at this restaurant.
After eating at many 3 Michelin Star restaurants, Per Se if my favorite. Their food is absolutely prepared perfectly and their service is impeccable. Definitely worthy of my #1 pick of best fine dining restaurant.
This is the only 3 Michelin star restaurant that we repeated since our December trip to NYC. Yes, that is twice in 3 months!
During Christmas holiday in December, we were lucky enough to get a reservation to Per Se for lunch. I didn't mention to them about a low-carb dessert until I arrived, but they were able to come up with a dessert for me. That's service and innovation! We both had lamb chops, mine was cooked to perfection (medium rare), but my husband's was cooked medium well. He was almost completed finished with the dish when our server came by to check on us. We mentioned it to her and she immediately took action and came back in 15 minutes with a separate dish (filet mignon). Not only did they provide him with a new dish, they gave me one, too. Didn't want me to watch him eat alone. They gave me the ravioli filled with chestnuts with truffle sauce. It was the most amazing dish that I've ever had. The pasta was done perfectly, al dente and the filling was soft and went really well with the truffle sauce. When you dine at Per Se, you will be treated with the best service and food.
Because our experience was so great, when we had the opportunity to come back to NYC in March, we made reservations again to Per Se for lunch. I notified the person confirming the reservation that I wanted a low-carb meal. They really listened and when we arrived, they confirmed my dietary restrictions and told me that the chef has made me a special dessert course and will ensure that the dishes I chose would all be checked to ensure that they are low-carb. I cannot thank them enough for another amazing experience and meal.
Full transparency - this was many years ago. But it still stands, this was quite literally the best meal I've ever had in my life.
Everything about this restaurant was spectacular--the service, the atmosphere, randomly sitting near Richard Jenkins, and the food.
Location: (5/5) Nothing in New York can beat the location at Columbus Circle.
Ambiance: (5/5) It was spacious and not too cramped, the layout of the tables (with multiple levels) allowed for everyone to have a view of the park.
Service: (5/5) Our waiter was phenomenal. He had an answer for nearly every question that I asked him (where does the silver wear come from? how long is the beef aged? the locations of where they get their ingredients). He was incredibly friendly and let us come to back to the kitchen to see everything being made (once we were finished with our meal). After we told him we were going out to Long Island on the train, he exchanged the normal farewell basket for one filled with even more chocolates in biscuits.
Main Course: (5/5) As many people have said, THE PEARLS. I probably could have had that for all 9 courses and been just as happy. That is...until you get to the scallops. And then after the scallops you have the lamb and you realize that your taste buds have reached the state of Nirvana but the rest of your body remains here on earth.
Dessert: (5/5) Comparing this to the other 3 Stars restaurants in the city, nothing but Eleven Madison even compares.
My second time here tonight and as a non beer drinker I gotta day - I really like this space. Definitely a HOPPIN place w tons of people getting together after work and to watch sports games
Really recommend the bahn mis. I loved the vegan one the most- flavorful ! For non drinkers they have kombucha on tap as well, def going to try that next time :)
I just died and went to Ramen heaven, and it was with the vegetarian bowl! Each ingredient was cooked with perfection. It was a marvelous bowl to even look at, but the taste... seriously, out of this world! The broth was like experiencing every comfort-food memory all at once.
Service was awsome but everything else did not match our expectation for Michelin three star place. The courses are not as innovative as what I had at a nother three starred place in San Francisco. In fact, one of the courses reminds us of McDonald's ... Thank goodness. Plus, the desert looks fancy, but was too sweet and not much new idea as one would expect from such a renowned restaurant. I would not go to this place again.
Amazing! Great place to come with family and friends. The food is bold, delicious, tasty, fresh... perfect. It was a wonderful experience and I would want to come again.
We went for the five-course, vegetarian tasting menu. Every dish was intentional and inventive. The service was excellent - the staff even brought out a few extra treats off the menu for us to try. We took a tour of the kitchen afterwards, and it was impeccable. Everything is so orderly, and the precision comes through in the food.
On the downside, we did feel a bit rushed. The staff kept checking in to see if we were done yet. This was unexpected given the price and ambience of the restaurant. The restaurant decor is a bit old-fashioned. We had one dish (trumpet royal mushroom "a la bordelaise") that felt like it was trying to imitate the look, feel, and taste of a meat dish (like steak and potatoes) instead of showcasing the vegetable.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the experience for a special occasion.
You pay for what you get. Sensational food. Aromatic flavors. Wonderful desserts. This place has it all. Ideal for special occassions such as anniversary dinners or milestone birthdays.
Exquisite! Each course served was a surprising adventure for the palat. Our meal lasted 3 hours and we enjoyed every moment. The sommelier and staff were remarkably informative about the wine and food. The service and quality of the food and wine are superior and more than respectable for a high end dining experience.
