The food was ok but the manager refused to accommodate our party of 12 and seated us in two separate tables. Very short sided thinking makes me wonder what other bone-headed moves management makes behind the scenes.
I won't be returning.

Service is beyond compare. The menu was lovely and delicious. I appreciate they do not try to fill you up with bread throughout the meal. Everything tasted exquisite. They had about three upsells (supplements) on the menu if someone chose to go that route. I kind of feel that when you're paying $355 per person, the supplemental items should have been included in the price. You're already paying extra for drinks. It's ridiculous to try to squeeze in more.

Our first 3-Star Michelin restaurant after many 2-stars, and honestly, I expected more for the price point.

When you come upon the entrance of the restaurant you re met with the iconic blue doors. The ambience was elegant (but on the cusp of stuffy) and the views were spectacular.

We found the majority of the meal was salt-forward. Of course, the signature dish of oysters and pearls were the highlight of the meal and did not disappoint. Other dishes that were note-worthy included the melt in your mouth calotte de boeuf and the coffee and doughnuts portion of the dessert.

We went to celebrate a birthday and they did make it special with a cake and candle and a signed menu from the chef.

It is a must-visit Thomas Keller restaurant, but it was slightly underwhelming for the price point.

Incredible dining journey. Attentive, yet comfortable, staff. Tremendous value-you will get the experience you paid for. There were 2 moments that blew us away-with the truffle risotto and dessert are out of this world.

Per Se lives in a world of its own. I find it quite unique. Restaurant nicely situated, great views of Columbus. Food amazing, wine list scary, all the usual adjectives apply. What's different is the atmosphere, its actually a fun place to be. Staff likeable and interested. Here's a pasta dish. You can't see pasta 'cos it's hidden behind the biggest mound of truffle I've ever seen. Then they came back and added more! A nice touch. Loved the place, it is serious food, top class dining but also a great place to party. Thanks

First of all the food was really good, 9 courses, wine was great. However the service wasn't anywhere near Michelin 3 star, or any star for that matter!!!
I asked for the restroom, and I was told there wasn't ANY.... right....
Anyways, I asked this "blond" lady twice, and twice her response was "theres none here". And as I was about to turn to ask another employee of Per Se, she asked me if I was dinning here? I replied yes, and she showed me to the restroom, but she didn't even apologize for ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!

HOW RUDE IS THAT!!!??? FOR A NO STAR LET ME TELL YOU!!!

They were nice enough to cut it for us and gave us two trays. I enjoyed the melty texture of the Follow Your Heart Cheese and the color was spot on, but it didn't seem to have any particular flavor. The cucumbers were freshly pickled, a little more sweet than tart. As for the patty, deets on the ingredients: it's primarily made from soy protein, potato protein, coconut oil, and heme (iron to give it the color). Texture was good, but still needed more flavor imo. They offer various dipping sauces for this reason I suppose. We had the aioli which was like French onion dip.

What is there to say? This food was A-mazing, but priced for off-the-wall amazing, so while it was one of the most memorable restaurant experiences imaginable, it came with such a hefty price tag that it was just so-so

After lunching at Per Se, I don't want to eat anywhere else. Per Se has ruined dining for me at any other place. If it's not Per Se, I don't think I can go. There's 2 types of dining experiences, ones that amaze you and everything else. Per Se was amazing.

The chef's tasting luncheon was 3.5 hours capped off with a tour of the kitchen. That seems like a long time, but the courses were timed perfectly and it did not feel 3+ hours. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I whispered "Thank you," and thought it was so quiet that no one heard me. The server said "You're welcome."

I didn't order any supplements, and I don't know why one would supplement the Oyster and Pearls for the first course. This dish was my favorite. Every dish was the best I've every had. It was the best lobster, the best beef, the best fish... you name it. Dessert was cray cray.

This is a lifetime experience. The staff said yes to every request. I joked and asked if I could have a baby elephant. The maitre d said they didn't have any. I'm scared to think if they did. How would I take the baby elephant with me back on the subway? If I was in the service industry, I would want to work for the TKRG. They are in the business to please and they execute everything perfectly.

I'm already saving up for my next visit. AMAZE BALLS!

I don t know where to begin. This 3 Michelin Star is different from its contemporaries, but different in a great way. The experience felt awkward at the beginning entering in from a mall. We arrived early and were seated at a table in the very front of the restaurant while our table was prepared. Bar service was provided to some very delicious signature drinks. We were seated and the magic began. The staff was friendly and engaging and the food was wonderful. It was different from some other meals I have had that everything had a consistency to quality. This can best be described as that all dishes were very good but some were elevated above the rest and one or two beyond that. The black truffle risotto, lobster and wagyu beef were unforgettable. It s truly the measure I will have to compare everything else to going forward. We were provided with a multitude of desserts and a selection of artisan chocolates at the end. I can t stress how much the staff heightened the entire experience.

In celebration of our 13th Anniversary, we had a fantastic dinner at Per Se on December 6th.
In a crazy week, jam-packed with fine dining, we had dinners at Per Se, Atera, Daniel, Jean-Georges and Del Posto.
Per Se held its own and was one of the best experiences. Tough to compare these restaurants, as the vibe, the experience, the food - basically everything is different.
In regards to the food: in short, we had a lot of "wow" dishes. The flavors were vibrant, captivating, playful and yet balanced and satisfying. The dishes were creative, the presentation was beautiful. Also the sweet portion of the dinner was very generous with lots of little desserts and mignardises.
Per Se's high points were the food, the service, the setting, the attention, the personalized menus and the parting gifts (little sweets in beautiful boxes). We also had a tour of the kitchen and had the chance to meet and chat briefly with Thomas Keller himself - such a warm personality.
As for drawbacks, one could mention the famous Per Se dinner cost. It definitely was pricey, having the highest cost compared to each of the other restaurants we went to. With this said, the value for the money was not the worst. That prize would go to Daniel, as the bill (not significantly lower than Per Se) simply did not seem to fit with the experience.
Per Se did so many things right that, at the end, we weren't at all vexed about the price. Talking about value, the best value for the money would have to go to Del Posto, although the food, while extremely tasty, was much less sophisticated than Per Se.
As for the kitchen tour - the kitchen itself is immaculate, as one would expect, and very quiet - everyone knows their job and does it to perfection. Definitely a 3 star kitchen ambiance.
Having been to about a dozen 2 and 3 Michelin starred restaurants in the past year, we thought that Per Se definitely was one of the best experiences.

The settings is elegant. The staff impeccable. From the time we arrived until we left we were treated as the only guests. The music, the food and desert left only the desire to return. A must visit. Reservations must be made.

Most people don't realize you can eat a dinner in the comfortable lounge area. There is an a la carte menu so if you are not interested in the fixed prix menu of the main dining room but still want to experience the food, try it out.

I was disappointed their explanation when they serve the foods. I didn't know truffles is so expensive. They charged $350 few shave traffles. They should let me know price before they serve extra substitute food

It is too difficult for me to summarize the essence of this restaurant with a review, but our dinner at Daniel is the best meal I have ever had. We are so happy that we can choose from a variety of dishes that we have left to taste the menu, and choose four excellent dishes, each of which is well-made and beautiful. The quality of service is also first class.

Dress nicely, comb your hair and don't bring your raggedy Capital One credit card. The food here is amazing, the wine selection, one of the best. The exerience is one you won't forget. This restaurant is not for scrubs or hayseeds.

The food was also just as great. We ordered so many options and got to try so many dishes. It was also crab season so you better believe we added that on to everything! This place is pricey but the food and the service makes it a special treat. My favorite dish here was definitely the clam chowder. Everything about it was so good. Lots of clam, creamy just enough, and seasoned so well. I also enjoyed the crab cakes. Full of crab and never dry. I'm sure everything is great so try it all! Lol

I was served a nice warm toasty brioche with my foie gras. About a minute passed by (without me touching the brioche yet) and a waiter came back and replaced it with a new, warmer slice. Extrapolate from here...

The finest dining experience I've ever had. 9 courses if I'm not mistaken, The silver spinning desert accessories were cool, I was asked to wear a suit in order to attend the dining experience, I supplemented the meal with wagyu beef and it was superb, the waiters served us thoughtfully. All in all a great experience. Well worth the price.

Even with its $325-a-head price tag, this temple of haute cuisine can be a tough reservation to score.

Still, it s worth the hassle (and cost) to experience Thomas Keller s signature oysters and pearls, followed by a succession of eight impeccable dishes in which no ingredient is repeated.

I'd say it's definitely one of the better Michelin 3 star restaurants I have been to. It's also very easy to get a reservation for 4, since most people come here as a couple. Fortunately, the staff sat us right by the window overlooking the park.

As for the food, it was a great experience and something very unique. The veal definitely stood out - as for the rest, nothing that exceptional. The dessert was unique with the macaroons and chocolates in an extremely heavy tray. However, unlike other Michelin 3s, you are limited on selection.

As for the alcohol, the cocktails were good. Their wine selection was top notch and their recommendations based on our spend level was very reasonable at $100-$150/bottle.

Overall, the aura was great, the experience was very unique, and the food was above average but not mindblowing like Alinea or E by Jose in Vegas. Definitely better than Grace in Chicago, and on par with Joel Robuchon. I'll update this after trying the other NYC restaurants.

Had the most wonderful dining experience at Per Se! Everything from the decor and design of the restaurant (and the bathrooms), to the tasting course, ambience, and service was thoughtful and flawless. We've dined at a handful of other Michelin starred restaurants in Europe, and this was by far, our favourite. The food and presentation was straightforward and simple, with no fancy gimmicks, which was refreshing to see. Service was warm and friendly, without being overbearing -- our server Chris made a point to have a personalized conversation with us at an appropriate time between courses and his overall demeanor was just so on point. We arrived at 9pm, and were the last diners to leave at 1am, and there was no sense of urgency whatsover. The dessert course is KILLER, and the tableware they source is specially designed for Thomas Keller and just incredibly elegant and enhances the dining experience. At the end of the evening, the chef even signed a copy of our menu (menus change daily), and we were sent away with the softest chocolate shortbread cookies in little personalized Per Se tins. We can't wait to return the next time we are in New York, and we would HIGHLY recommend dining here!
