I really liked this hotel. It was in a convenient location for where I needed to be and was close to some good eateries and things to do. The staff were friendly and I was able to use the pool area whilst I was there and found it to be a nice pool. I don't think it will be everyone's cup of tea as sometimes they put you in the other side of the hotel where there is no air conditioning and during the summer we've had that would be horrific! However I can only comment on my experience and my experience was lovely. The air con was ace, the brekkie was phenomenal and the room was a good size

Save your money and go to a hotel with competent staff. They got my mother's reservation wrong. Kept insisting on finding the person responsible in their system and made her wait for almost an hour for a new room (it was established that the fault was theirs). When she asked for a taxi it took them 45 minutes to find one, and when I tried to call to speak to someone their switchboard was off. What an utter disgrace.

Little attentive service. Especially in the restaurant. Eternity to wait for ordering and food in the evening. The toilets at reception were greasy and partially smeared with stools. Stools in the stairwell for three days without being removed. No lock or possibility to close the door to the toilet / shower in the room, as well as lazy tiles on the floor. Worst hotel I have been at some anger.
Plus for good food.
Minus for everything else

impeccable home but room that leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel offers a tv service but big problem with reception and no USB connection. Carpentry of poor quality for the building 2. Meals and correct price in the restaurant but big problem of service. 1:30 to have our dishes and mistakes in the service (dessert taken before the dishes by 3 times) employees of the hotel very friendly, welcoming and helpful.petit dej perfect .. Price a little high for the benefit.

On arrival, I was faced with a 10 minute wait to check in as the staff seemed to be going very slowly. Dinner was worse. The food was quite good, but the service was shocking and I was forced to walk out of the restaurant without paying (I left a note to bill my room) as I just couldn't wait any longer. The electric sockets in my room were faulty so the kettle wouldn't work and the bath taps were jammed so only boiling water was available from the shower. Overall, the hotel is 'ok' but really needs updating and if it's anywhere near capacity, the service goes downhill fast as the staff can't cope. I have stayed here on several occasions and it seems to be getting worse each time for one reason or another. Unfortunately for me, the location is ideal for my work

Very nice hotel. Rooms were very clean and spacious. We were in the new building where also the swimming pool is. The breakfast was very good and rich. 12 pounds are absolutely appropriate and not too much. Hotel bar is also great.

Two nights on business. Firstly staff are friendly and professional. The location is misleading, as the nearest underground is Old Street, the walk is a good 15 minutes fast paced.

The room I was in, though was clean and presented the best they could, the double bedroom unfortunately seemed small and outdated (especially comparison to the Thistle Euston).

The breakfast was superb; delicious and has a wide hot/cold variety to choose from - including a chef to cook specialised made to order omelettes.

The gym/pool/sauna/steam facility is shared with local memberships - so was pretty busy and no frills.

Overall this is a nice hotel, and clearly feeling wear and tear - though the service of the staff is very good.

Have been on a conference here. It was ok, but difficult to get to, as it is a fair walk from the nearest tube station. It's not particularly close to the Barbican either, so somewhat mis-described.

I rarely review hotels but wanted to share this time... Not recommended, expect the following:

::Walking around in circles (literally) to find your room due to incorrect signage in hallways
::Power Outlets in the room not to work
::Morning Alarm Testing
::Housekeeping entering the room early morning without knocking when a late checkout was confirmed the day prior

Nothing positive to add here. 1 star for location, 1 star for a room with a bed in it.

Very clean, helpful staff. Breakfast was outstanding, buffet style which you could have as much as you wanted with choices from cooked, fresh fruit, cereal etc. Basic room with shower, tv, bath etc just what we needed when staying over night in London

Old-fashioned hotel that would need a big renovation
This hotel although located in London is away from tourist places
Attention in the morning a lot of waiting for breakfast
We had a very small room
Fortunately it was nice weather and we were in this room only to sleep
The hotel is a 15-minute walk from a metro station

Old TV, ceiling fan, dirty windows and poor view behind the glass. The rest OK. Breakfasts tasty, available from 6:30. The swimming pool is open until 21, however the last entrance is at 20:30. Same gym. Service nice and helpful.

a very nice hotel, a pool and spa nice after a day visiting, the staff was very nice, the breakfast very rich (as well as English!) our triple room with 3 beds was good, a bathroom a little small however, the negative point: the soundproofing of the rooms! At 10 pm our neighbor was banging on the wall telling us to shut up! and we also heard a lot of the outside noises. Otherwise all in all a very good stay

A weeks stay here the room was lovely and the food is great but the reception staff are lovely but the evening bar and restaurant staff clearly hate their job I wouldn t stay here again because the staff made me feel so uncomfortable

The staff were not helpful. We asked five times for them to change the channel in the sports bar so that we could watch the six nations rugby. Despite being told yes, yes, yes, nobody bothered to come even though they had four staff on reception and two in the main bar and very few customers. We missed most of the first half and then had to leave and find a pub. Lousy service. The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the nearest tube, quite hard going for us seniors. We won't be back.

The breakfast is fantastic, room service a bit overpriced for what you get and the quality is mediocre at best. But the location is nice, close to the tube - and the rooms are decent enough

The 3 stars I find understated. Hotel with pool and spa ... and small equipment room. In the evening the feet ache after a sightseeing tour. Can only recommend the hotel. It's not perfect for the price anyway. if you search, you will find something to complain about.

Nice hotel for a good price in central London. The staff were all very friendly, breakfast was nice and the shower was good. The bed was comfy and the air con (not available in all rooms I don't think) worked well. My only negatives were that it's quite a long walk from the nearest tube stop and that there are remarkably few plug sockets in the room (had to charge my phone at the opposite side of the room to the bed). Overall a good experience and would happily stay there again.

Disappointing visit. Placed in one of the older rooms which are in poor condition. Iron board broken, bath panel coming away. Tried to order room service - no answer after 30mins of trying. Then tried receptions - still no answer. Won t be staying again!

Wouldn t call it super fantastic if its closeness to downtown is discounted. Rooms are terribly small, with absolutely no place to keep even one luggage bag. The room was damn hot (mid July), which the (noisily) floor fan couldn t handle.

I was upgraded to a slightly bigger room when I complained of bed bugs after the second night of stay. The room was cleaned daily.

Staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was fine. However the room decor is dated, tired and worn. Mirror/lighting in en-suite was not great for shaving and I had wi-fi connection and speed issues making it almost useless.

We stayed here for 11days. The rooms are of decent size.. Not too small. Bathrooms r neat n have a shower n tub. Hot water was available at all times. Towels r provided along with other toiletries. The house keeping was good too. We had breakfast every morn. Though the food menu was repetitive it was good. Overall a good decent place to stay. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were also were helpful at all times. I would definitely come stay here again.

The location while a little off the beaten path is still relatively close to the London city underground and a mere 15 minute train ride to most sights. The hotel is friendly and clean while meeting all of my basic expectations if not succeeding them. Easily one of the better places to stay if you happen to be a first time vistor and don't mind buying a metro ticket if you want to go into town.

It's a nice hotel, fairly cheap for London. Very close to the Old Street tube station. Only problem we found was one member of the party found some isses with the cleanliness of the room. There were long black hairs on his bed when we walked in, which couldn't have belonged to any of us..
