My first time here and I really loved it, although the rooms are a little smaller than you would expect (i had the deluxe river room) the views are stunning and the service is worthy of 5 stars. I had their afternoon tea service, delicious with signature strawberry and cream tea. The breakfast was wonderful better than most restaurants we visited. Definitely stay here at least one night if you can afford the luxury.

Hotel was in a perfect location in Covent Garden. Restaurants and bars are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. A lot of tourist attractions like The London Eye and Big Ben was also in walkingdistance from the hotel. The hotel breakfast was a bit expensive and could have had a bit more options. The rooms were big and the beds were very comfortable. I stayed in a twinroom which had a view to London Eye. Minibar was complementary and have a couple of sodas, some water and chips. Overall a great experience with the hotel. Everything was clean and service was excellent. Will stay here again as soon as I get the chance.
We arrived on time and the waiter made us wait in the corridor for a couple of minutes before guiding us to our table. There we had to wait for another 25 minutes before they took our order (only the tea type as the food menu was closed since the online reservation).
During this time I noticed that my knife was dirty so I asked one of the waiters to change it. She took it and said that she would come back briefly. She never came back. The food arrived and I asked the manager to please bring me a knife. She then took a knife that was lying on a table used by the waiters and handed it to me, and left immediately. I looked at the knife and I confirmed that it is exactly the same dirty knife that was taken away by the other waiter 20 minutes before. I asked a third waiter to please change the knife. He rushed to the kitchen and came back with 4 identical knifes and told me to choose one of them(!?). I dont want to choose between all of your identical knives, I just want a clean knife for Christ's sake!
This has to be the worst 5-star hotel experience that I've ever had, and we were not alone, as we heard an argument between a family and the waiters the moment we arrived, as well as several couples and groups being sent to wait at the corridor during our meal because their tables were not ready.
Later that evening we dined at a fast food restaurant and both the service and the food itself were better than at this "5-star" hotel, for a fraction of the price slightly more than just the dis-service charge of the hotel, which by the way they will add on top of your bill even if you have an all included meal package reserved and prepaid online.
Conclusion : do yourself a favor and don't go to this place (even with a 50% Groupon p discount)
A luxurious hotel for a very attractive price compared to competing offers. The latter is very well located, the hotel is beautiful and the service perfect. In addition, what a nice surprise to be outclassed. If I come back to London, I will definitely choose this hotel!
Just superb. The hotel was as opulent and luxurious as you'd expect from a five star hotel, but the staff were also extra accommodating; nothing was too much trouble and they were always on hand in case they could do anything else for you. The only food I had at the hotel was breakfast, and it was exceptional, with a wide range of cereals, cheeses, cold meats, continental pastries and a full English buffet. The room was clean, well stocked and offered a great view across the city (we were on the 9th floor).
It was just great. We got a deal through Groupon, and so we got the regular deal with some champagne. We sat in comfortable chairs next to the windows with a nice view outside, and the plates and interior were gorgeous. We got 5 finger sandwiches each with varying elements, as well as scones with jam and clotted cream, and an array of sweets at the top. The tea was of course very fresh and delicious and our waitress was very helpful in helping us pick out our teas.
Showers have some mold in the grout. Food was fine. Service was speedy. There are no vending machines. There is no sundries shop for buying water or any travel needs.
There is no better location than this hotel for the tourist. Main sites are within a five minute walk. The rooms are clean, quiet, large and comfortable. The staff is courteous and professional. Beds are very comfy. Be sure to enjoy tea here as well...yum!
This felt like a hotel of dreams in its setting and location.
However, the arrival was very disappointing when the room was quite terribly small and the price was something completely different than had been agreed.
This hotel cannot be recommended for families due to the very poor value for money.
We stayed here in November celebrating our 25th Anniversary with a night in London and a trip to Les Miserables. This hotel KNOWS what customer service is. The moment you arrive outside you are truly treated like a GUEST. Our room overlooked the London Eye which would have been thrilling enough but furnishings were very comfortable and what other hotel has a fla tscreen above the tub and a French Press for late night coffee? The Concierge staff were incredibly helpful, even charging my phone for me when I realised I was down to the last bar without a charger. Oh and eat at the hotel, their restaurant, One Twenty One Two is also 5 star, the food was delicious and the staff knowledgeable and were there when we needed them but discreet at other times. There was not one part of our stay that wasn't 5 Star, we hope to be back!
5 star hotel right by the river. The lobby is charming in the most British way you could imagine - decked out in red and gold for the Christmas season and serving mulled wine as the choice of complimentary beverage for guests. Don't forget to take advantage of your free beverages inside your room's mini bar. Air conditioning unit could be renovated so as to reduce the loud noise it makes during the night. Overall, good hospitality and convenient location right around the corner from Embankment tube.
A lovely hotel with a great team of people working there, we found everyone we spoke to happy and helpful. The room was a good size, clean and offered with complimentary mini bar and bathroom luxuries. A nice touch was the tv in the bathroom, though it would of been nice to have a few more channels. The room was equipped with hair drier, iron, kettle and safe which was everything we needed for a evening out in town. On a personal note I found the mattress a bit on the firm side, though it was not a fault just my personal preference.
I was at the meeting and my impression of hotel was WOW, because it looked like I appear in the castle. It feels like you are getting room in museum, this is just brilliant. Highly recommended
Stayed at the Royal Horseguards Hotel for 3 days whilst visiting London. A very pleasant experience with the most friendly of staff who could not do enough for from the first moment we arrived which was after 11pm at night, nothing was to difficult to do for us, the waiting staff and the room service staff have been great. I would highly recommend a visit. A hotel with a hidden history right in the centre of Whitehall.
We booked 4 nights in this hotel via private trip. To our disappointment we had a one-eyed room !!!!!! A courtyard view with windows at 1 meter from ours. Scandalous !!!
Really great hotel in superb location. Worth the money for a room with the most amazing views of the city. Very comfy, clean and all the things in the room that make for a good stay. Very nice breakfast but with the usual high London price - would be so much better with fresh fried eggs as my only tip. Would come back here again for sure.
This is a very nice hotel and very reasonably priced for the location and quality. The rooms are very nice, and the views across the river from the rooms are very nice
Given the position and relative expense of the hotel the afternoon tea was ok at best. The scones were tasty but cold, some of the sandwiches were a bit tasteless but the petit fours were delicious. I'm glad it was a Groupon offer as I'd have been disappointed if we had paid full price.
Visited with a family group for a celebration meal...most impressed with the beautiful building and location, very comfortable and elegant bar area but sadly let down by the restaurant and service for our meal. As we had arranged the fixed menu we checked beforehand that there would be alternative options available for vegan and dairy free diets and were also offered something special for a birthday celebration. None of this materialised and were told very sternly by our rather scruffy and grumpy waitress,Olga, that the only options were those printed on the menu with nothing vegan or dairy free available. As we didn't wish to spoil the occasion we did our best to order from the limited choice, picking out what we couldn't eat but sadly felt unwell as a result. We were also led to believe that the restaurant had riverside views but seated in a very small area next to a room divider blocking the windows which was very disappointing, considering the lovely location of the building.
Great hotel! Centrally located, opposite the subway, you can walk everywhere, including major attractions. The staff is pleasant, smiling, approachable and promptly answered, the rooms are large, spacious, clean and the breakfast is luxurious. The second time we are here, enjoying every moment. Thanks!
This is a very nice hotel and very reasonably priced for the location and quality. The rooms are very nice, and the views across the river from the rooms are very nice. There is an afternoon tea which is nice. Very convenient location for Westminster and the tube.
