Please never rent from this place. Dollar Thrifty...

Please never rent from this place. Dollar Thrifty rentals will rip you off. I rented a car for my Aunt's funeral. Advised that I wanted no pike pass when i picked the car up. I noticed there was one in my car anyways, but I didn't think twice about it.
Every toll I paid, never would I run a toll. 2 weeks after I had returned the car I get a bill in the mail saying Dollar Thrifty toll fine $66. I immediately called & was told I went through a toll in TX, & that they understand I wasn't aware because it was the type of toll that has no attendant or both just cameras that took pictures. So I called The TX toll company to verify because if I have a bill I'm willing to pay. Was told they bill by letters going out but it would only have been $6 that I owed. So Dollar Thrifty was trying to bill me $60 for there admin fees. Please don't rent from here. I would not have even given 1 star. Integrity & honesty for this company has gone out the window. I usually always rent from Enterprise going the same route to visit at least 2x a year and have never gotten a bill from them. So upset to have to deal with them. But Im going to do what I have to do. I don't want any other customers to go through this.

Utterly completely terrible. Never use them. If I could give negative stars I would. They randomly cancelled my reservation. Then when I called said I must have done it. Left my family stranded at the airport and nobody had any idea what they could do. They had cars available but only for $1,500. I had already paid using all my points and credit card room for the original reservation. So of course I had no way to then pay $1,500 extra for a car. So I m stranded and Thrifty doesn t care.

I had previously rented cars here..in fact this is the only place I have ever rented from .. I made a reservation like normal.. I went to the location at 7 am when they open.. The very RUDE sales clerk told us to wait because she was not ready.. By this time it's between 7:05-7:10. Finally about 7:15-7:20, (and you can tell she is taking her sweet time to get ready) she acknowledges us and says she can help. She immediately ask for my stuff drivers licenses and cc. I put it on the counter, rudely saying"we don't except debit cards any more", I put my cc on the counter. She then proceeds to tell me she won't help because because it's to early to deal with me(referring to my attitude,because she wasn't open when it said they were). She turned around and went in the back and wouldn't come out,by this time another customer is in line and ask if she is not coming back.. I said "I don't know but she is awful". Finally,she came back out and said,"I am not helping you,and I will call airport security", remind you I've been asking her name the entire conversation(refusing every time). So another car rental place open next to them and I moved over there and I did snap a few pictures so I have them because she refused to give me any info.. She called airport security..I let them know why and what happen.. Needless to say I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN BECAUSE THIS ONE PERSON..

What a rip off very sneaky and unethical ... We arranged our rental car with a voucher from a travel center. When picking up the car the attendant told us that we had to purchase prepaid gas in addition to the cost of our prepaid voucher. We were charged approx. 3.99 a gallon when the price at the pumps was at approx. 3.23 a gallon. We were forced to do this or lose our voucher, so of course we agreed. Then after we agreed to pay for the gas, we were then charged an additional 20 dollars in taxes for the gas. We still cannot figure that one out, since gas is already taxed at the pump, after quoting price per gallon , then after you agree ,they tack on a huge tax .sneaky and unethical. Come to find out we were charged for 20 gallons of gas when car has only an 18 gallon tank and it was only 7/8 full when we picked it up .again sneaky and unethical. The attendant was alone and spastic in the parking garage and did not list the damage on the car. She did however sign our list of dents and damage. The whole experience made us feel dirty and used.

Worst customer service EVER. The general manager is an inept circus chimp. I explained to him that the plates on the vehicle did not match the car, and as a result I was pulled over and detained for over an hour on the way back from my father's funeral. There was NO compassion, there was NO sympathy, and there was NO customer service. The kid got in my face and say "I WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT THIS" and I had to ask him to step back because he was invading my personal space to the point that felt threatened.

I will NEVER rent from Thrifty again.

I returned a vehicle to them with the fuel at the same level as what I received. I was later charged $36 because it was an 1/8 of a tank from being full. Are you kidding me, $36 for 1/8 of a tank of fuel? I won t be renting from Thrifty again.

Had a reservation set up through Thrifty online. Quoted me $78.07 for what I needed. I had my plans set and booked so when I was informed that it would in fact cost me $209.26 to rent the car. I was unable to cancel to make other, better priced arrangements due to time constraints. I am very upset at the fact that $100 dollars of charges were because I was under 25. I understand company policy but when I am a blue chip member and they have all of my information-drivers license,bday, credit card. I DO expect that to be on the quote. In fact if they had been up front I could have had my passenger reserve the car because he is over 25. I was informed at the desk when I tried to get the arrangements in his name that it cannot work like that because it takes 3 days to set him up as a blue chip member. I RESERVED THE CAR DAYS BEFORE WE PICKED IT UP- I COULD HAVE SET IT UP BEFORE WE LEFT IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT. Their dishonesty makes them money which infuriates me. Also there was a $48.58 airport charge added to my bill. I feel like they have been working with that airport long enough to be able to know about the fee and also apply it to their quotes given out online. I feel as if this company is deceitful and lacks integrity due to the large variance in quote vs actual cost. This is my first time renting from Thrifty and I was very disappointed with the service, the car, and the fact that I had to pay more then my budget due to a crap ass "quote". Not only that but I could not use the credit card that I had reserved the car under (The computer system had a hard time reading my card,when I told her to put the numbers in manually I was informed that management writes up employees do that. Which is a stupid policy and forced me to allot my credit card points bc the lady at the desk was afraid of retaliation.) When I picked up the car it was dinged up and scratched on the outsideThe inside was even worse. All the seats were severely stained and it was clear that the car had been smoked in, faint smell when I turned on the ac as well as cigarette burns by the driver side window. I am very upset don't rent from these guys even though they have "the cheapest rates" that is only on quotes when you go to actually make the purchase bet your ass its not going to be what you promised. I sent two emails about it last week and have yet to get a response. Poor customer service all around.

Reservation means NOTHING. Had a reservation for a truck 30 DAYS prior to arriving. When I arrive NO trucks available. Told me they would call when one was available. I was in town SIX days and they NEVER called. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else. Never again thrifty!!!

I reserved a car online as I have done in the past...

I reserved a car online as I have done in the past, just to find out that in order to rent the car with a debit card I had to have a return ticket out of the airport. When I called customer service, I was sent to someone from another country who did not listen to or understand what I was saying. I advised her that I had rented from Thrifty and used my debit card in August if 2016. She kept reading the policy to me and then told me I did not use my debit card. I asked her to please explain how I had the transaction on my bank statement then. She would not acknowledge what I said. I asked to speak with someone else, she connected me with a supervisor- who immediately began reading the policy to me again. I stopped her and explained what I was asking. She advised that the policy changed in January of this year. That is all I was asking- I didn't need to keep repeating myself. I cancelled my reservation and will never rent from Thrifty. I don't use credit cards, I was taught that if you don't have the money for something don't get it on credit. So I don't have them.

The 3rd party sights they use, either drop the reservation or mess it up.The service desk does well to fix the problem. The company needs to look at this though before it makes them loose customers.
