I reserved a car online as I have done in the past...

I reserved a car online as I have done in the past, just to find out that in order to rent the car with a debit card I had to have a return ticket out of the airport. When I called customer service, I was sent to someone from another country who did not listen to or understand what I was saying. I advised her that I had rented from Thrifty and used my debit card in August if 2016. She kept reading the policy to me and then told me I did not use my debit card. I asked her to please explain how I had the transaction on my bank statement then. She would not acknowledge what I said. I asked to speak with someone else, she connected me with a supervisor- who immediately began reading the policy to me again. I stopped her and explained what I was asking. She advised that the policy changed in January of this year. That is all I was asking- I didn't need to keep repeating myself. I cancelled my reservation and will never rent from Thrifty. I don't use credit cards, I was taught that if you don't have the money for something don't get it on credit. So I don't have them.
