Lots of fun delving into the darker side of Yorkshire history. Not as scary as Edinburgh though I think.

Great experience, interactive and funny. Actors really interacted with us as a group and brought us in as part of the experience. Great experience for all ages and although some kids were a bit scared, my grandparents- one of which had a walker used the stairs lifts, wasn't rushed and when walks or part of the experience could affect people with bad backs, my grandparents were took to the side and helped but still felt part of the experience and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff ever so helpful and still in character, so patient and kind. Really would recommend this to people.

Good entertainment however really not scary for a 15 year old.

Was Oki think a little expensive for what it is and what you get

Great acting, great atmosphere. Would have given this five stars had one of the actors not left my partner in a room only for him to have to find a member of staff in the back scenes to direct him back to the group which kind of killed the atmosphere for him.

First time visiting and absolutely loved it. The actors are brilliant and reactive to customers which just adds to the bonus of learning some bloody history

It is a really funny place in which you will learn the history of York.

Great place to spend a few hours,gets very busy at times.
No a good place to take young children,or nervous people.
Great actor's guide you round,the place.

Had a really enjoyable time there. Some nice scares along the way. 2 girls were jumping. Me getting picked on twice probably helped the experience overall as well!
We paid online in advance so only waited 5 mins and we were in.

Not quite what we expected. Bit scary for youngsters. Kept you entertained.

Have been on other dungeon tours so had these visits to compare against. This particular one does not come close to the london one, but it does it's best. The jester at the beginning was very good, unfortunately the others just don't come up to her standard. This does not mean that it is a bad attraction, as the kids still enjoyed it, but it does have just that little bit lacking.

Great experience ... kids loved it and learnt a bit of York's darkest history whilst being scared out of my pants!!

Had a laugh doing this, was worth it! Point of note though - there is a section with a mirror maze, just remember the idea is to actually find your way through the maze - got stuck behind the entire group who decided to just stand there at a dead end! .

Actually loved this place and was very well done and very entertaining just such a great thing to do and visit

Over busy we purchased a time slot but didnt get in at any point near that time. Just as we got to the front of the line after 45 minute wait they split the line in to two and made us wait whilst they let in staff who had come for a visit and lots of friends. Once in it was good nut by then we were cold and wet through as the line was uncovered.

Great attraction for all the family. Fantastic story tellers, and the attention to detail was super. Well worth the visit

Loads of fun, plenty of jumps... Obviously a bit gruesome at times... My 8 year old loved it... Even if he was a bit scared at times... Has changed a bit since I last visited 8 months ago too, so that kept it interesting.. great entertainment...

Good, fun place to visit. Is easy to get to and the actors put on a great show. We'll definitely come back to this once the acts change a bit.

It's been a few years since I've been.. but it's seems a little bored of itself.... there's a couple of decent moments, but not enough to justify the cost... the staff (characters) rush through a script and makes it feel like a call centre in a ghost train.. saying that.. The torturers pretty good.. If it's raining and nothing else to do, look on Groupon and try and get a deal

Loved the immersive experience down to the guy in the bushes, windy to say the least but all in an excellent trip through history

Had a great time here. Be ready for audience participation. I found that I was picked on a lot (it was fun) because I wanted to participate whereas no one else really did. You will see a lot of the "scares" coming but when you go with someone who jumps at anything it is a right laugh.

Was ok but we all agreed not as good as London Dungeon. Kids 13 and 10yrs liked it as not too scary for them.

Amazing experience can be frightening for smaller kids.

First time visiting a dungeon experience and loved every minute. A bit pricey but plenty of vouchers out there. Great fun.

We had an excellent visit not really sure what we expected but had a thoroughly good time with a good group of people who all enjoyed the experience.

Bit crammed but it's so popular it makes sense. Go at opening to avoid the queue. Regardless it's a fun experience with others.

Funny fun for young and old, some very good actors but attention to the accent! Very good level of English advised!

This is a good place well worth the visit the actors take on a professional but comedic role.

The final room could of been better.

We went there expecting to walk around a dungeon looking at olld graves and things like that but you walk through a maze of underground rooms watching little reanactments of what would happen with a touch of horror and comedy.

Brilliant fun and it has been updated recently. Good fun for all the family.

Took my daughter to this. She is only 10 and asked the reception on the way in if she would be scared, they were great and said it is about a 3/10 and if she likes horrible histories she would love it.
Found each section to be fun and very informative. Would definitely go back.

I thought it was a really good experience. A very interactive tour, exploring history. Dont want to describe it too much as to give away anything.

This was so much fun! Genuinely didn't know what to expect. I laughed and cried in equal amounts. Actors were great and other staff were super friendly. Even the audience participation wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Total value for money. Would recommend.

Admission is quite expensive if you go with family, but for the experience it is worth paying

The 3rd dungeon we visit and we enjoy every experience....really liked it. Great actors!!!

Terrifying! One day I will go back but I'm still a bit scared... Super fun day though. I was that scared I thought it might of just been a cover for a real torture dungeon. I even heard my dad scream a few times!

My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed herself here. I thought it was ok, I would've preferred a genuine underground network, but I suppose that's a bit demanding of me. The staff are very informative, entertaining, accomodating and helpful.
