Humourous and funny glimpse in to some of the dark history of York. All the actors stayed in character and should be commended for this and every room the actors made the visitors involved in the history.

For those worried about children the attraction is not scary, there are dark rooms and some loud noises but no jump scares and actors wont touch you.

Amazing experience!! Fantastic actors who really throw themselves fully into character, great whizz through some if histories note-worthy moments, all in all, a fright filled, wonderful taste of the past.

We went in on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy though I imagine it would probably been better if the group had been larger. There were the two of us and a family of three. We got in on a two for one ticket thankfully as it's quite expensive otherwise. The actors do their best and are very enthusiastic but they do make Hollyoaks look like Shakespeare in comparison. A young crowd may enjoy it more. Our tour lasted an hour but it may take longer when there are more people.
A few words of warning, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with; sensitive hearing, poor eyesight, a nervous disposition, bad heart or who is heavily pregnant. It is very loud, dark & there are the occasional shocks. The average club goer shouldn't have a problem. Go and have fun.

Fantastic interactive attraction in York. Be prepared to be pulled up from the audience and be accused of all sorts! They recommend not for the under 10s however my 7 year old loved it though it may not be for all young children.

I didn't hate the dungeons just pressed the wrong buttons here. It was a funny silly afternoon and in places quite scary. Just felt the background music was too loud making the narration a bit hard to hear but it was still fun.

Really good tourist attraction, the actors are all incredible and the staff do a great job of making the whole experience worthwhile.
Great place to take older kids, but not for those who are easily scared!
If you're planning to go, we spent a good hour and a half there with not much of a queue but be wary of peak times.
Enjoyed the experience but not something I would do again; once you've been you've seen it all.
That said, if you're stuck in York for an afternoon it's worth swinging by.

Very good worth a visit. A spooky history tour. My youngest daughter loved but there again she loves history. Eldest daughter was scared and my other daughter thought it was ok but got fed up. But see for yourselves the actors are brill make the tour enjoyable.

Seems a little pricey but well worth a visit if you haven't done one of these before. Some audience participation which makes it all the more fun. Great for kids and adults alike. Great experience dont miss it.

If other dungeons are like this then it's worth a go. Got in with the York City Pass, one sister was a kidnapped saxon, another stood trial... And I hid behind them! Gift shop is also a mini bar selling gruesome cocktails. Really enjoyed it. Parking is 1hour only on the road next to it, get the visit York tour bus, it stops nearby.

Good experience, unfortunately bit ruined by a rude individual as you go around with a group of strangers. Preferable if staff would have thrown him out as he was disrespectful to them too and just made the experience unpleasant for the rest of the group :(

Really fun place to visit while I'm York. I've been here more than 5 times over the years and love it each time. The actors are great and really get into the spirit of the dungeons. The dungeons can be scary at times while being funny and engaging throughout! Fun for all ages.

Amazing!! What a place! Not at all what I expected, but was better! The acting was first rate and brilliant! Sometimes it was a but too dark and I couldn't make out what was happening, but other than that, the show was great! Lost a star because we queued for 30 minutes despite booking a time to get in. Surely staggering the bookings would be better, rather than have a massive queue of people all expecting to get in at the same time. Despite the queuing, I would highly recommend.

Visited here yesterday, bought E-tickets online so avoided having to queue to purchase. Waited around 5 mins before tour to start and it was fear filled excitement from there. Plenty of variety in the different shows, exciting and fearful More

Had a really memorable visit to this place. It's entertaining and educational, actors were fantastic, the audio/visual experience was excellent and the smells really added to the atmosphere. If you're tall, hide in the back or you'll end up getting picked on by the actors!
