A really good experience in general but the major problem was it was not very good for me as I was in a wheelchair :-( the surfaces were uneven and it was very hard to manouevour and felt like I couldn't enjoy myself as much as I could the staff were very helpful and helped anyway they could and were brilliant actors it was just a shame I had difficulty which is why I rated it low but I would recommend for anyone else

I went with a friend - bothadults! Neither of us have not laughed or jumped out of my skin that much for a long time. Staff are amazing and get everyone involved. Be prepared to be scared! I personally would not take under 10 year olds as it is very dark and can be very scary but a great day out.

We visited today. The last time I went was about 20 years ago, has changed a lot since! Was so much fun. The actors were fantastic and I was spooked a few times. Lots of little things happen that you don't expect, they really add to the experience. I was trailed as a witch wasn't expecting it, although my husband wouldn't agree

Fantastic activity for most of the family! Under 10s aren't advised to visit! Very entertaining and educational! Absolutely worth the visit, if you're a bit faint of heart or jumping stand toward the middle of the crowd!

Brilliant! Went here on 30 Dec. The show was fab, actors and set were ace. Very involving and scary in places. Kids loved it too. Staff were great throughout. I Recommend as a great family outing but not for small kids. Our 8 year old daughter was fine but stayed close to me for the whole duration.

For me it was the first time in such a "dungeon". The prices are relatively high, but it is well maintained. The (most) plays do a good job. Scary factor and fun factor were both present. The sets were designed very appealing. All in all, highly recommended.

I was expecting history, yes there was a bit but it was more a giggle than a lesson. Dont take anyone that cannot see too well as it is very dark and no rails for those who are a bit unstable on their feet

It is well worth it! Scary and fun and interesting! The best thing to do is to book ahead online as ques can get quite big.
If you are scared of the dark and loud noises isn't a good idea. And it isn't recommended for under 8s...though my 5 year old loved it.

Great Dunegon!

Great Dunegon!
By far the LEAST awkward compulsory photo encounter I've had at any of the Merlin attractions so that's a definite positive. Good scenes. Not as awesome as the London or Alton Towers one, but way above the rest.

Excellent time was had by my wife and I. The actors did in fact acted well and they were serious about their craft.

I was pleasantly surprised how well the Dungeon kept us entertained. Each time we thought it was over, there was a new character to amuse us.
I do agree that this event is not for everyone and several times they asked if anyone had a bad back, etc.

For the price we paid for other events in England I must state this was the best value for the money

Excellent and if we were back in York, we would do it again!

Absolutely brilliant, worth every penny. Very atmospheric and pretty creepy. Take my hat off to the actors, it has been said before but they really do throw themselves into their roles. Loved it and would definitely recommend

A wide range of experiences, with great period costumes, characters and effects, mostly feeling connected with the history of York.

Particularly fascinated by the mirror maze. Not sure how I missed the way, but fortunately one of my fellow travellers helped me out of it!
