This is a must if you are visiting york. Absolutely fantastic . The actors are superb. Very educational as well as fun. You will chuckle and be scared.

Plastic chains plastic scenery the building itself is an old Victorian structure. I would suggest that owing to the numerous stairs in the place this is not wheelchair friendly

Visited today for my third time, some of the attractions have changed since I last visited due to flooding and it kept it fresh, I really enjoyed myself and so did my other half. Brilliant actors and lots of light hearted scares.

Quite good fun but if compared to Warwick Castle Dungeons falls short. Short lines but slow moving for photos. Show ok .... ots a nice outing if in York

Really enjoyed the York Dungeons. Got on line tickets prices(would recommend) which were very good value.

I've been to all of the 'dungeons' in the UK now and have to say this is my least favourite I'm afraid. The acting just didn't seem quite as up to scratch as the other venues and it didn't have much in the way of a 'ride' like Blackpool. It's still a fun attraction for the kids. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Even allowing my girlfriend's God Daughter to nip to the loo mid way through.

I was a little disappointed, there was a lot more comedy theater than history. I also don't like being a part of the show but it was tough to get out of if the cast called you out. Some of the actors' accents were nearly impossible to understand.

The kids loved it. Funny in places, but at times we were given a good fright.

Greatly positioned next to push stops and very close to the town. Easy to find aswell. Just love york.

Definitely scared me and had some laughs too. Was with a big group though so not always enough seats/clear view of what was happening. Wouldnt go to a dungeon again though cos im a scaredy cat xD

Excellent experience and so much fun. The actors were fantastic and so funny and suited the roles perfectly. The receptionist was really friendly and very helpful. Totally recommend a visit

A fabulously entertaining theatrical show. You ll laugh, scream and cringe with the antics in each room. Don t lose your head!

Why not 5? Well the tour is good but parts are excellant... The well, The Pub and the Highway Coach are expecting more but dont stand and deliver...

The plague, The Court and The Monk are funny and well executed.

If youre going to shout for Odin, as a historical accuracy, use the proper language!

A lot of show, little exhibition. It was even better ten years ago. If you don't like to be the center of attention or want to be shown, you should avoid it.

Well done 'living history' with good actors. Good for adults and kids (not recommended for young ones or those of nervous disposition) but beware, some adult might find the darkness and atmosphere too scary! No refunds.

Amazing!!!!!!!! The actors are incredibly and me and my family loved every bit of it. Even my hard-to-please teenagers said it was brilliant!

Brilliant and scary cast members made this a scary and funny experience, some clever jump scares got me..! Well managed during the Covid situation, highly recommended

Amazing, easy to understand why it can be the go to tourist attraction but visitor or not this just over an hour event is worth the fee in return for great memories and quirky knowledge. Be cautious those of a nervous disposition should be careful for the layout could unnerve those who are claustrophobic or anxious. All in all if you want to know more about the unheated of history of York make this a go to for a day out.

We had great fun at the Dungeon. The actors were fantastic and our kids loved it. Having a Merlin Pass meant we could go in as part of the Pass attractions! Highly recommended!!

Loved it! The actors were great and really immerse you into the experience. Plenty of crowd participation and jumpy moments. Came out laughing and was all we talked about for the rest of the day. A must see

We was in a group with a few cheeky/chatty pre teen lads. Things like that can spoil the experience a little but the actors soon sort them out overall great

Follows the same theme rooms and layout as other Dungeons of the same group. Was worth the visit, has great staff. plenty of fun to be had as you pass around the dungeons.

Loved our visit, shame about having to wear a mask but needs must. Staff and actors were great and it was alot of fun and very educational

Excellent attraction, not suitable for wheelchair as floors are uneven and it's very dark. Can be a bit scary at times in the dark. Some interaction with the people who work in the dungeon. Some flashing lights, can make you jump. Good fun and worth the money. Souvenir shop and bar on exit.

Has a great time here at the weekend, I really enjoyed it and the missus was terrified throughout which made it even better. It's not over the top and people aren't jumping out on you but still has a few jump scares that are done very well. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you're looking for something different to do. Probably don't take the kids..

My family and I came to the dungeons on halloween it was our very first visit here and I can solemnly say that we will all be back again. I loved the dungeons the stories and the acting were so scary yet you come away actually learning something that is when your heart stops racing and your brain starts to work properly again. If i could give you all more stars i would. You are all crazy.

Great attraction! Perfect for the family, highly entertaining 75 minutes of interactive live shows about the horror and bloody history of York. Great actors, engaging and perfect at building up suspense, horror as well as making their audience laugh as well. Happy to see how accessible the attraction was, with stair lifts for those less mobile. Loved the Dungeons when I last visited York 3 years ago, was not disappointed this time either. Well worth the money!

Great story telling and even though it's expensive you are in for quite a long time.

This was a great experience. The tour was fun and scary and very entertaining. Would highly recommend as very good way to learn a bit of the history. The actors were really good and highly entertaining. Staff were friendly and helpful. The customer service we received was great due to event being cancelled, manager was very good in sorting and getting back to me.

Recently visited the York Dungeon (having been previously about 5 years ago.) Actors were all very good - a few similarities with the London Dungeon but overall think I preferred my London Dungeon experience - it was just more wow! I like the bar/gift shop areas at the end of the visit and we enjoyed our Misfortune Cookies.

An absolute blast! Screamed, laughed, and made some great memories with my teens!

Took my 14yr old son there for the first time this week and he loved it. Even more so as I seemed to be 1 of the poor buggers who got regularly picked on by the cast. Speaking of which, the cast are superb and really bring an eerie feel to the whole experience. At first I thought it was a bit pricey but you can get special discounts online if you have a look and the whole cast make it a very worthwhile and pleasurable experience.
I would recommend to anyone visiting York.
