The acting here is absolutely top class and the staff friendly and professional. Went with the family, 10yr and 7yr old. They unfortunately found it too much before we'd made it all the way through so I'd think twice before you decide to take the little ones. A great mix of terror and comedy and a fantastic day out!!

Really good activity for a day out in York. It's not too long to where it would get boring, but not so short you feel short changed. There's a good bit of audience participation, a lot of jokes and some innuendos for the adults. Would happily go again.

My parner and i visited today and had such a amazing time. It was our first Dungeon experiance and cant wait to do another one even if i did get burnt alive for being a witch ;). Would highly recomend going and the gift shop at the end was very well priced.

A really fun experience, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the actors are so good and funny. Lots of different stories from various periods of time makes it interesting and there are a few jump scares along the way with great More

My kids and I did all the touristy stuff over summer and although I am from York I'd never visited until now. The actors are outstanding and we thought it was hilarious. Children under 10 might be scared though

Went in here with two of my friends and we enjoyed it. It was good experience and it is a good way to learn more about Yorks past and to have actors acting it and to make it more easy to understand.

The best thing is that it passes the time way while you visit here when you are in you. Also it gives you more information about what York was like in the past and also you learn about York's famous person called Guy Fawkes who was born in York and was hanged in London.

I would recommend that you visit this place when you are in York but the only downside is that if you are in a wheelchair or use a wheelchair I would avoid this and also if you suffer from panic attacks easily I would avoid here but if you do not suffer from panic attacks I would suggest that you try here.

Brilliant time here, the actors really seemed to enjoy what they do and it made the experience so much better. Despite lockdown restrictions experience was interactive and funny, never laughed so much in my life

I can't really give out too much information as it will spoil any surprises for others but, I went with my partner. It was a comical, fun and exciting look into the history of York over the last 5 centuries. Would certainly recommend it to anyone

This was the highlight of our trip to York! We had so much fun and it exceeded our expectations! The actors are phenomenal and really engage with the audience. Yes, they do pick on you and may pull you up onto the set, but it's all in good fun. The only other thing i would mention is it may not be appropriate for young children.

It was fine. Very similar to the London dungeon, only with less. No rides or thrill compared to London or Edinburgh, but the actors were good. If I had never been to the other dungeons then it would have been fantastic

A very good attraction with some reservations. I'd recommend booking in advance as queues can get long, especially in summer. When booking online you'll find the price depends on what time you want to visit and how flexible you're willing to be. The actors in each of the scenes were brilliant and they whole thing is very entertaining. On entering there are warnings that it might be unsuitable for children under 10. This was not obvious when booking online (it's in the FAQ but I didn't see it elsewhere). My six year old daughter was a bit frightened at times, but did enjoy it.

For English speakers:
If you do not speak English, you will not be interested.
Yes, those who speak and understand - a very scary and interesting attraction. A lot of actors, interactive communication with tour participants.
Fun and scary if you are pregnant or epileptic - you can not go there))

A fun place to visit!

A fun place to visit!

The experience last around an hour and timeslots run every 15 minutes. The actors are great and put a lot of effort into the performances and interact a lot with the group.

Would have liked it to have lasted a little longer and a more dungeon like pub to have a drink in at the end.

Our daughter was a bit scared as she is 12 but the staff there we're fantastic in reassuring her it's just like horrible history's on the TV and when she did go through she loved it! Great fun, very well presented, a must do when in York!
