Really enjoyed the York dungeons today! Very interactive and lots of giggles. Made you jump in certain places which adds to the experience. The judge got me in the stand then i went in the cage in the witch room Hilarious, the actors were really good too, really made us laugh. Would definitely return

Brilliant family visit. Not a place for young children or those with a nervous disposition! I get scared so easily but absolutely loved our morning there.
They have amazing actors and actresses, teaching us peasants a thing or two!

A rock pub in York. The pity is that I was too early and there was nobody, but surely with people inside it earns a lot ... Decorated with photos and posters of stars of rock and pop and with a great music !!! Totally recommended!

Stunning! The actors were fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. Even though you knew what to expect it still scared us!! The storytelling was very informative and loved the ad lib work when it didn't quite go as expected.

Good fun couple of hours would recommend that you book on line makes it cheaper

Great fun, make sure you stand in the middle of your group and don't make eye contact with the actors , and stand at the back or you will get picked on. Was fun.

A genuinely unique and entertaining attraction. Love the judge and the mad executioner.

Kids loved it, not too scary for my 8yr old. I can still feel the Chair bugs !

Good, fun way to learn about York's history. The performers have you up and have you as part of the experience. Good way to spend an hour and a half. Just feel the photos they take are a complete over-priced rip off. Literally the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Absolutely fantastic. The guys that tell you the storys of old were brilliant well worth a visit.

Amazing!! Such a genuinely fun, interactive glimpse into some of the dark stories of York's fascinating history. The actors were all fantastic, and made a great, hilarious experience of something we thought would be cheesy fun at best. We only had two short days in York, and we're so glad we made time for the York Dungeon!

Brilliant day out,not recommended for under 8s though

Not like it used to be. More interactive now, a lot of shouting in people's faces and forcing people to be part of the experience. Not that impressed for the money to be honest.

Not what I expected. When I was a kid you would go to these places and it would be like a museum with all manner of torture instruments out for display with wax figures making up staged scenes of torture. Expect none of that. This is more of an immerse experience as actors play out various scenarios covering different subjects and eras, all inolving you the audience. My son really enjoyed it.

This was pretty good. Was expected a little bit more. All the way through our visit the actors picked the same guy for their bits which became annoying

We enjoyed our visit, actors good, but I think Edinburgh dungeons are better!!!

Brilliant experience, plenty of jumps and entertainment. Also educational but not in a dry way! A really fun visit to be had here!!

Great place for victorian knowledge and fun and scary for all. Performers really reenacted their parts very well. It was thoroughly enjoyed by me and my son.

First time in here and was sceptical but very good entertainment for 75 mins.

Waited in queue for 40 minutes .. when finally got in crazy prices but awkward to turn around and get back out .. just 1 attraction ive tried but won't be going there again..

Took my 7 year old son, he was terrified, I was terrified! Goid fun though

This was so much fun. Forget about museums, try this instead. Had a blast, and learned quite a lot about York's history.

Great fun well worth visit actor's do a fine job well impressed.

I have never managed to get in, just stand in the rain, twice, before realising it's not happening. The queues are atrocious. Closes at 4.

Great experience, it was a lot of fun and learned a decent amount of history! As well as only being a little scary!

Amazing experience well worth the cost very interactive.

Fun place. There are several rooms with different stories that you enter as a big group. Every room one person gets chosen to do specific things which makes it more entertaining.

Actors were great and scared some of the people as well as being funny in places

Really fun visit. It'll probably take a couple of hours so plan accordingly if you're hinging your day on it.

The actors are great, the stories interesting and the staged scenes really well thought out.

If you're jumpy be warned. They will pick on you. Lots...

York dungeon was very good, well done with the restrictions you have in place.

Great day out. Fantastic support for wheelchair users as staff were really helpful however wheelchair user needs to be able to transfer to a stair lift chair and need an assistant to carry wheelchair up and down stairs. Really entertaining afternoon for the whole family but be prepared to get involved.

Fantastic! Definitely worth the money. My whole family loved it.

This was as good as its word. Great fun and scary laughs and the kids who are 10 & 14 had a really good time and the guides/characters made it lots of fun children and adults alike.

Well presented show. The actors do well and it is slightly interactive. Highly recommended. Even a visit to the toilet can be scary

I visited here with my brother and partner last week and thought it was absolutely brilliant! I didn't know what to expect but I thought the actors were just brilliant! Scared me to death at times, and didn't help that my brother nominated me for any tasks! It was such a great activity and massive credit to the actors. They really made you feel like yours was the only tour that day. Well done!

I thought it would be quite educational & engaging. By the end I was bored of the same people, doing the same thing, in a different costume, in a different room. Good for families with Kids but not for history-geeks (like me) in their mid-20's.

A few new things added, was a brilliant day, not recommended for under 10's but my 7 year old loved it, more fun and educational, with a little bit of scary

Don't be put off by the price it's well worth it. Both educational and Scary with a little humor thrown in

Great place if you like a few jumps, not great if you're easily scared...

This is a good tourist attraction. Doesn't quite match the London version but a great way to spend 90 mins or so.

Better value than the London dungeon, the staff are amazing and a great way to spend a couple of hours in York.

This for the money was really good value, scary, funny and we joined in at times.. this is a not to be missed attraction!

Great day out but not for kids below 10 i wouldnt say.10+ will love it and the staff are fantastiv its just like going back in time.

Pretty interactive visit. Lost interest in the middle as appeared monotonous. No way in comparison to london dungeon hence only 3 star.

The ticket price and souvenirs (pictures) are quite expensive. But the actors are really great! It's worth the price. It's good for visit once because they will have almost the same act with different actor on the same scene.

Wasn't exactly what I expected! It's a jumpy one...! and it's a little smelly walking around (I didn't expect it to smell of roses) but I suppose that's part of the experience. Definitely need someone with you to hold hands haha... otherwise you will find yourself clinging into a stranger. Enjoy!!

Fantastic, brilliant and would definitely recommend it to families, couples and kids alike. Loved it !

Good fun, great actors and lots of laughs. Would recommend as a tourist attraction of you haven't done it. Onoy criticism would be the acts haven't changed much in the last few years - the core remains much the same.

This was an amazing experience and the new witch is superb

First time I've visited this place been to York so many times one of my favourite cities in the whole entire world and we loved it we loved every part of the Dungeon experience so much fun will definitely be going again
