Great hotel, friendly staff and nice amenities. Three nice pools, one is an infinity pool. The restaurants are good but not amazing and pretty pricey. There's no beach access but free valet at the Ritz will get you a nice beach. Rooms are comfy abs plenty of parking.

Oversold and underserved. A small studio is called a villa in print and suite when sold online. When you flinch on arrival at how small it is they try to upsell you to an actual suite. Oh, and if you are driving they get you for a $15 a night parking fee for inadequate parking. Handicapped? You are out of luck, with a woefully limited number of spaces and lots of stairs, steps, and roundabout ways too get around the complex. The property is next to the sea, at the top of a cliff. Beach access is promised via a shuttle to the neighboring St. Regis hotel, or just drive yourself to a public beach.

Food anywhere on Kuaui is not cheap, so onsite restaurants are only slightly high. The biggest ding for the onsite restaurants is that it's pretty standard hotel food that you can get anywhere. You are on a tropical island, one would at least expect some local foods and flavors. You can do a lot better eating in a little and spacing the restaurant trips out. Shop at Foodland at the entrance to Princeville and you'll do okay. Also, the driving is challenging, with one lane bridges, narrow roads and switchbacks common. So drive during the daylight, or know where you are going and pay attention to the speed limits.

My husband and I stayed here on our 11th wedding anniversary trip in February (2017) and loved it. The grounds are beautiful and we'll kept. The rooms (we had the queen bed studio) was just enough for us and had everything that we needed to cook breakfast, do laundry if needed, store or hang our clothes, etc. One of the main reasons we opted for this resort instead of the many others on the island is that 1) they do not charge a daily resort fee and 2) offer free Wi-Fi. I will say that the Wi-Fi was spotty. I mentioned this upon check-out and the lady said that I should've called at that moment so they could've looked into it. She was right. They did their best taking care of any and every need we had otherwise. I should've trusted that they would've done their best to fix this. Another perk about this place is they offer either house cleaning every day or you can forgo this and get one free breakfast every morning of your stay at their in-house restaurant, Nanea. I think the free breakfast is worth it since one breakfast cost $26 per person. The breakfast is delicous so it is worth it. They do charge a daily parking free of $13 but this was unavoidable as I haven't found a resort on this island that doesn't. If we ever come to Kauai again we would definitely stay here again. Beautiful resort!

I was not a guest of this hotel but they let me in, and to cross the hotel, it is very nice, everything clean, the swimming pool very nice. The employees were very attentive to me despite not being a client.

I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member FOR LIFE. I stay at Marriott properties frequently. I attempted to make a reservation for Feb vacation in 2021 for the Princeville Westin. Three rooms for a week. Somehow, the reservation was made for Feb 2020, I guess the system didn't allow a reservation that far in advance and changed the date to the current year. I did not notice and the hotel billed me over $1500 for a no show. I tried calling them prior to my stay to correct the error as soon as I got an email from the Westin. I spoke with Marriott Bonvoy who assured me they could correct the error but the hotel staff over ruled and I was charged $1500+
I am disputing the charges as aggressively as possible both with Amex and the hotel. Be careful not to make any mistakes as the hotel has a no forgiveness policy.

Nice place to stay if you want something closer to an apartment than a hotel room. We could cook meals for six people in the kitchen and on the grills, and having access to laundry machines and dryers is really nice. The infinity pool isn't really well done, as trees and bushes ruin the illusion of an infinity pool, but the quiet pool really is quiet and the hot tubs are warm and nice. Some of the apartments face the giant air conditioning units, which makes the balconies nigh unusable because of the noise, and the fact that they don't supply you with additional packages of dishwasher detergent is a waste: they recommend that you buy more in the local store, which is fine, except that the local store only has big packs meaning that you buy a lot more than you actually need. Unless you bring it home, you end up wasting a lot of dish soap. Same goes for laundry detergent. Apart from that, this is a good place and I'm happy we stayed here!

Its nice that the resort is a condo, but they nickel and dime you for every penny. It's pretty, but not a lot of ocean views. More things to do on the south end (Poipu) of the
Island and equal or better resorts with beaches!

Great place to stay! Very friendly staff and beautiful grounds on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The hike to Wyllie's Beach and swimming and hanging out there was one of the highlights of our trip!

If I had to describe the Westin Princeville in one word I'd say Understated. As in confident elegance.

Utility doors are tugged away behind decorative walls. Lots of careful tending to the detail. To the substance not the facade. When they have to keep you out they do it in a charming friendly way.

Wonderfully quiet, high-end resort. For a good hour there was no one but birds with me at the quiet pool at 11 am.

But then there is also the kiddie pool with the waterslide and a ton of things to do.

The resort is so big, even time seems to get lost. Funny thing - I just realized that trying to walk and explore it on the last day. All these buildings are so nicely placed into the greenery that it does not feel like a big place at all.

It is nice to have the serenity and peace when you want it and then hop on the free shuttle that takes you to the busier St. Regis just 2 miles away.

Breakfast buffet offers a big variety in a laid back atmosphere (especially if you like birds as they literally zoom by your nose) and is reasonably priced. Unlike the water for $5/bottle in the suite. Or the mandatory parking fee of $15/day. Westinians, you are not doing yourself a favor by doing so. It makes you look desparate.

The Westin Princeville is one of 2 SPG properties in Princeville. We were able to explore both properties, but stayed at the Westin which doesn't have the fantastic view that the St. Regis does. Overall we had a great experience with the Westin. The rooms are all outfitted with a kitchen and washer/dryer, which is super convenient. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The lobby and dining area is separate from the rooms, but the property is manageable by walking. We had a good experience, but there was nothing special that would bring me back to this property.

The Westin Princeville Resort was a disappointment. Horrible customer service. Valet parking is pathetic. No beach access. Breakfast was ok. House keeping didnt come by for 2 consecutive days even after we confronted the front desk and they said they would send them our way. If you like to stay at a Low class place this is your place. But dont expect more than a Days Inn experience. Not worth the money

If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit HotelBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

Always friendly and warm. Facility is older now but still has the traditional island feel. No direct beach access. Pools are smaller than many other Westin.

I absolutely love this resort. The location is unbelievably beautiful, both the landscaping and natural. The resort has phenomenal views of the ocean and sunsets. The rooms were top notch. They were very large and felt very home-y. The furniture was in great condition. The bathroom was amazing as well, and was very big. The balcony was large and comfortable. Room service only came once a week, which was fine. I don't feel it needed to come every day. Overall and wonderful experience, by far the best resort/hotel I've ever stayed at, and probably ever stay at.

My wife and I spent a week here in mid October for our 7th anniversary. We're in our mid 50's with kids already grown up. We've been many times to various islands including Kauai.

The suite was very new and nice with a wonderful bed, enormous bathroom and a view of the pool. Comfortable balcony. Staff was very helpful and friendly. High speed internet was excellent (laptop, iPhone and iPad all connected without problem.)

We prefer to cook - and by cook mostly barbecue. Very nice barbecues surrounding the pool. The pool is a bit small - not small but divided and very shallow. Clearly this is a family oriented property. There is a tiny little shop here that has good coffee, snacks and even steak/fish (which we took advantage of on the day we arrived.)

There is a Foodmart nearby with a good selection of meats and fish. I had ahi poke for lunch 6 out of the 7 days I was here. We ate out once - as usual the prices/value ratio eating on the islands discourages me from eating out more.

I love that it is easy to drive around here.

Spent one morning over at the Westin St. Regis where guests here get beach privileges.

We really like a property where one can simply relax by a nice pool, hit the water without a lot of aggravation, barbecue, read and relax. I plan to return - most likely in February when the weather is colder where I live and a bit cooler here.

Only minor negatives - check in is 4 pm (we arrived at 11:30 am, checked our bags and groceries and spent a few hours poolside ...) Parking is $13.00/day. Only mildly annoyed - San Francisco hotels have bitten us for $60/night parking so $13.00 hardly hurts.

The timeshare folks did not bother us at all - we simply did not mess with any activity discounts offered or take advantage of "concierge" services. Been down that
route before.

Very comfortable place. Rooms come with full kitchen, washer/dryer in the unit and large balconies. Feels like home away from home. The grounds are pristine. Would have give 5 stars but their beach access isn't the greatest but everything else is really great.

Modern facility overlooking the North shore. No direct beach access on the property, but beach access is provided via shuttles to other facilities. The Villas are ideal for families, with kitchen and laundry facilities, but also caters to adults with "quiet" pools.

Kauai is my favorite of the Islands I have visited so far. The Westin Princeville Villas has a beautiful view of the ocean and the property is extremely well spread out to enjoy some relaxing time with the family. We had access to the St Regis beach also which was an added bonus. If you want a villa, I recommend staying here.

We stayed at the timeshares in January 2018 but went to visit the hotel. We stayed st the hotel in 2004 just before they started renovations. We were very disappointed in how the hotel has been maintained over the years. I would not want to be paying or using Westin prices or points for this very tired looking hotel.

Had a great short vacation at the Westin! With Hawaii recently opening back up and Coronavirus pandemic slowing the worlds everything made the stay rather quiet. Some may say that is the best about vacation but from the restaurant being closed and all the small shops, this place was a ghost town.

Great rooms and resort would stay again. Love the kitchenette helped out so much during our week long stay. I've read comments about the birds at the buffet for breakfast if you get up cover your plate with a napkin problem solved all of the food in the buffet line is covered. Didn't find this a huge problem like people make it seem. Only complaint is the pool bar and bartenders need some work one guy didnt acknowledge us for 5 minutes and we were the 5 and 6th people sitting at his bar seemed like we were an inconvenience to him the next day had one of the worst mojitos of all time rum and water with some mint leaves at 12.50 each!! So just an easy retraining problem solved.

Great location on the beach, nice jogging path that takes you all the way down to the canoe club and old cemetery. Pool chairs get crowded fairly early. The food at the poolside bar/restaurant is pretty good.

The Westin Princeville is a really great place to relax & unwind while also enjoying the best of Kauai. The North Shore of Kauai is absolutely beautiful and The Westin does a good job keeping up the property with lots of beautiful landscaping and features. Can't wait to go back.

Really pretty location although we didn't have a view of the ocean. The rooms are spacious and clean and were perfect for the week we were there. My main issue is the nickel and diming covering everything from water bottles in the room to losing key cards. The restaurant on site is okay but they charge like a gourmet place.

We we're not guests at the resort, but all of the staff was friendly & courteous. We had stopped to inquire about lunch and the bellman told us they had food and drinks available poolside.
It is a nice venue and seemed very family friendly and we enjoyed people watching with the idea of returning for a family vacation.
We were disappointed with the bar & lunch. We were greeted & served water fairly promptly, but it was downhill from there. We waited at least 30 minutes for our drinks from the bar, then another 15 for our burger. Both the drinks and the burger were "ok". Nothing to set it apart from any plain burger (we had upgraded our order with bacon and avocado).
Our server did not check back until she delivered our check and didn't inquire if we wanted anything more. The story was the same at two of our neighboring tables. The people next to us had to order another Mai Tai because it wasn't offered.
Our credit card was clearly visible indicating we were ready to leave, but we had to signal our server before she picked it up. We have been guests at other Westin properties with much better experiences.

Very nice resort! Room had full kitchenette and washer/dryer, which was a great perk! We were amazed over and over with how friendly and helpful staff was. During our 6-night stay there, we had a huge thunderstorm and power was lost to the city (maybe even island? I am not sure) for several hours. Rest assured, staff could only remember one other time that this has happened in a decade. Although obviously a bummer, staff really made the most of it. They offered activities all day (with good prizes!!) and went above and beyond to accommodate anything we might need (Thanks, Karlyn!!).

Everything outside of sleeping* accommodations, was wonderful and 5 stars. Matresses are worn out & obsolete. They refused to give us a cot. We packed our own. People need their sleep & mattresses and pillows matter. *Sadly, only a studio was available. The pullout couch (love seat) has NO support
for those requiring support for their backs.

The pool at this hotel was incredible! There's an infinity pool with another pool below it. The water is warm, so even though the weather was on the cooler side, we spent lots of time in the pool. There's a pretty good sized jacuzzi, and the Nene Geese not only walked around begging for snacks, a couple of them also swam with us!

Our room was great, very quiet (except for the mynah birds every morning and evening), with a beautiful view of the ocean and an expansive green lawn. It was nice to have a kitchen in the room, too. My husband made bacon for breakfast! We went to Foodland, only a few minutes away, and stocked the fridge for our stay.

The only downside is that to go to the beach, you have to take a 5 minute shuttle ride to the Princeville Resort, which does have beach access. It is a very nice beach, with lounge chairs available at no cost. There are some amenities available to Westin guests at the Princeville Resort, which you can take advantage of while you're there, although I just walked on the beach, waded in the ocean (it was a little cold for me to go swimming), and read a book on one of the free lounge chairs.

Amazing!!!! The staff was so so nice and loving and treated you as their family member! I stayed in room 5208 and the room view was perfection! The rooms were aimed straight towards the pool and waterfall they have placed below the koi pond which has daily feedings at 9:30 Am! The concierge was so nice BUT, the lady said she would get me a black lunch bag but I never got one?!? Other than that amazing location beautiful place to stay! I even went to Princeville ranch to zipline and a shuttle came to pick me up from there when I was done! I stayed from the 18-23rd! It was amazing! I just wish they would give me more Essential oil because one is not enough for a family of four!

This place is amazing. Excellent facility with everything you need. And it is so quiet. No drunks screaming in the middle of the night and no cars screeching or planes flying over your head. This place is as pristine as it gets. Take a dribe to nearny Hanalei beach and you are literally in heaven. Its also 2 minutes away from sunshine helicopter tours which is a must while you are staying in Princeville.

Nice hotel, great service. We have stayed at the Westin in Maui and this was similar. Room was clean and large. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our daughter loved the goose outside our patio door! On check-in, the clerk was very helpful. We changed rooms and they were so organized, they had our crib there by the time we started to unpack. One thing they could change is the pools were cold, especially the kids pool.

We always look forward to a return stay at the Westin Princeville. It is a welcoming oasis for us; a place to relax in beautiful surroundings. And if you really want to relax, take 80 minutes for a Loomi Lommi massage with Brigitte.
