This used to be a nice course. The course now is completely unkept. There were huge piles of clippings everywhere on and off the fairway. No excuse this late into the season. Good luck finding your ball anywhere especially with the new carts that won t allow you search off the fairway at all. The greens were all dug up. The groundskeeper and course manager should be fired. On top of all of that, they raised the greens fees substantially this year. EDIT: You ve been open for the same amount of time as every other course, but yours is in the worst shape by far and also now the most expensive. You didn t even spray for dandelions? Not only did you not spray, you let them mature to seed so every one of them looks like your ball. I ve been golfing here for over 25yrs and it s never been worse. I live right down on Edgemere, so it s very disappointing all around. At the very least, you should drop your rates to match course condition, but even if it was perfect, you d still be overpriced. You re not Deerfield, or Ravenwood. I won t be back until you hire a decent grounds crew and lower your rates.

We had scheduled a retirement party for 80 people when the retiree got very sick. The folks at Lakeshore were so understanding and kind. They refunded our deposit with no questions asked. We will definitely schedule another party at a later date. Thanks Lakeshore for your outstanding customer service!!

Lake shore staff found my car keys this week after losing them on the course days before. I had all 3 vehicle keys on there with no spares ( yikes $ )
Staff members updated me throughout the day on the status of the keys and I really appreciate it. Great clean course and great employees. 5 stars
Best, Jay shaughnessy

The course is fun, and generally well kept, as well as newer carts. Will not be returning to the course, unfortunately, due to the negative, disrespectful way that Andy treats golfers. He seemingly tries to talk everyone out of playing Lake Shore.

I hadn't played this course for years, and it's gone way downhill. Cash only snack bar, slow play, greens with ant hills all over them, very disappointing. (and this doesn't even get into the horribly slow play, lack of rangers and general lousy attitude of pro shop staff)

This is the worst golf course I played on all year. Greens are dug up. Grass clippings everywhere. You can't even find your ball in the fairway. Not recommended several other courses have way better conditions for the price. They also make u share golf carts.

I grew up a few minutes down the road from the course and used to love going here - and still would love to - however the pro shop staff (mainly ANDY) has consistently made me and my friends feel like a burden the past three times we have tried to golf (WITH A SCHEDULED TEE TIME). I work in customer sales/service for a living, by no means am I saying I am an expert, but the treatment we have received has been ATROCIOUS. You guys should keep that dude more than 1,000 feet away from customers at all times. I literally do not understand how you are able to consistently be as miserable as you are when a group of four golfers have chosen to golf your course out of the 60+ in the Rochester area. We will now be going out of our way to not return to lake shore, and again this is a shame because it used to be our "home course" but we will gladly drive the extra 10-15 minutes away to give another course dollars.

Have had less than desirable experiences here, along with my group of friends. Not sure if it s because we don t look like traditional golfers, but the staff has never really been accommodating to us. I have no problem spending some money on a round, but thanks to the treatment here, I ll be playing elsewhere from now on. Their prices are not worth what they have to offer, and I can play a much nicer course for about $4 more. I still enjoy Shore Acres, but again, am hesitant to go there based on Lakeshore s hospitality.

3 years ago I wrote a review about Lakeshore Country Club after an upsetting experience with Chris Schneider. No one ever reached out to gain any insight to attempt to resolve the issue. Instead the manager, Chris Schneider decided to make a personal attack on me and my business by writing a negative review in retaliation. He has never done business with me.

There's 2 kinds of customer, one will give you feedback and allow you to grow as a business, the other will simply never come back. I wouldn't suggest trying to help these guys or they will personally attack your livelihood.

Just took a swing evaluation/lesson with the club pro Josh Osborn. Very professional, not pushy for more lessons and answered every question I had with detail. Ball was going further and straighter with the fixes, now its on me to make it part of my game. Scheduled a follow up lesson already for putting.

The course is in better shape compared to 10 years ago (before the change in management.) Tee boxes are much much better and the greens are not bad. The practice putting green is excellent and the driving range is convenient with new range balls. The clubhouse has a great bar and the service has always been very good for me. On the flip side, pricing of a round (as of 8/13) could depend on the day of the week and discounts. I was told last Monday that to walk 18 holes is $29 and to ride a cart is $25? The driving range needs more care...not watered and the water containers (buckets) to wash you clubs off hardly ever get refilled. On Wednesday the range shuts down hours earlier so they can pick up balls...not a good business model you would think. In general, the course is good for the general public, a test for the average golfer and has a decent bar to relax after a round of golf.

So the last 2 times I tried to play here I called an hour ahead. Both times I was told to come down, no tee time needed and carts are available. When I showed both times, the moron working in the pro shop said carts weren't allowed cause it was too late in the day... it was 1 in the afternoon! When I told the kid, who happened to be rude and about as intelligent as a rock, I just called and spoke to him a hour ago and he said carts are available, and he started screaming, just walk, it's not my problem!! If you want to play you can walk!! I just looked at this ugly, inbread, punk with pure astonishment, shook my head and walked out. I have to say, I will never EVER play at this dump again!!! There are plenty of good courses, that cost less and the staff act civilized, not like a bunch of savage animals!!

Crappiest golf coarse in the rochester area. Every gargage can filled to the brim with trash. 1 ball washer about every 6 hole with no towels. No arrows or signs directing you to the next tee box. Leaves sticks and branches all over and noone picking them up. The sand in the traps looks like they stole it from charlotte beach. I also happened to go after a few days of heavy rain and although i realize that there isn't much the coarse can do about the standing water, it was an absolutely a mud pit. Plus its expensive. I will never go back.

Today was the first time I've played this course and it will definitely be my last. I have been playing golf for decades at many different courses and have never been treated as poorly as I was today. I was in a foursome with another foursome of coworkers behind us, and starting on the third hole the ranger came up to us and asked that we pick up the pace. He proceeded to follow us for the next 4 holes, watching from about 50 yds away. Then on the 9th green drove up to us and congratulated us for "getting back on time". It took us under 2 hours to play the front nine. We are all experienced golfers and know about pace of play and being courteous. Nobody was close enough behind us to play through and we weren't playing slow at all. The course has signs all over implicating that it should only take 4 hours to golf 18 and that you should only take 20 seconds to hit your shot. If you want to feel rushed and uncomfortable then this is the place for you. If you want to enjoy a round of golf, go to literally anywhere else in the area.

We celebrated my father's 90th Birthday party in July 2014. Dawn and the team were extremely responsive and accommodating to all of our requests.

I had read a few mediocre reviews on the food, so I was concerned--being Italian it's a big deal! But as it turned out, the food was delicious! Chicken was tender and tasty, pasta wasn't mushy or over-cooked. Even the rolls were different and warm!

I will utilize Lake Shore again, should the opportunity arise.

It was nice here, very fancy, there is a long wait for food despite the fact that there were only a couple more tables. There also weren't any vegetarian options, but you can always ask for things without meat. The food is very good though!

Average course with an upscale attitude. They started running specials because they have no choice. Too many quality courses in that area to charge that much..Not bad for couples at Twilight rate..Nice clubhouse, proshop staff has a history of being clowns, but some nice females working sometimes..

Very nice experience. I'm getting back into golf after a long hiatus and I've found Lake Shore CC to be my go to/favorite area GC. Public course with a private Country Club feel.
Pros: The course design is "old school"...sometimes tricky but not impossible...I like that. Fairways and greens are top notch and the practice range is very nice. Kudos to the greens keeping staff: all good even after our nasty tree toppling wind storms and wet summer. The clubhouse and bar/restaurant staff are professional and very friendly. I've never had a problem getting a tee time...Ever. Nice!
Cons: Petty maybe...but I have to mention it...the cart paths need some serious attention. Lots of ruts, washboarding, and water ponding. Smooth and dry cart paths, to me at least, can make the difference between having a good day of golf or an uncomfortable one. The fix is easy...Fluff'em with a rock rake and add 1/2" gravel in the bad spots.

Lake Shore CC is a gem of a course. I would highly recommend it to golfers of all skill levels/handicaps.

My experience at Lake Shore was very disappointing. The course is in very rough shape with sand traps as hard as concrete and greens torn up and pock-marked from an unbelievable number of ball marks. On top of that we played behind a group of 5 that were allowed to go out together as one group. They literally took 10 minutes to putt out on each green and not once offered to have us play through even though there was no group in front of them. When I questioned this at the Proshop I was told it would be taken care of. It was not. I was told that the "cart boy" was asked to go out and ask the group of 5 to allow other groups to play through. He never did. When I again spoke to the person in the Proshop he was rude and dismissive of my concern. I will not be returning and would not recommend the place to anyone.

Attended a wedding at this venue. The building was nice enough. The food was good considering the amount of people they were serving. The reception room was conveniently located to restrooms and the bar. Dance floor was not very large but was ok for a small group to dance.
