This place was pretty good, went for the fourth laser show and it was ok. Music was a little too loud and the National Anthem sounded like garbage til they got the sound worked out. Our room was outstanding, very nice for the price and everything worked as advertised. A/C was ice cold. The staff was amazing! They did a great job making sure everyone was enjoying their time. The only real complaint I had was the prices, beer was $8 a can or $30 for a bucket. The food was pretty pricey too.

Negative: Bell hops were selective and biased, and shine the lights from the golf carts until you get out of way if your walking the same pathway, reserved rooms were not what was originally selected and no compensation besides a twin rollaway. Positive: Housekeeping was excellent.

We had not 1 but 3 spiders in our bathroom. The room smelled and looked like it needed a major renovation. No face plate on phone or coffee maker. Looked like they may have repaired and never put the faceplate back on. We have stayed at many Marriott resorts and never would have expected a room to be as bad as what we experienced.

1 cockroach in bathroom..called front desk...no one came...then i moved a bag away from cockroach..and 2nd cockroach under bag..called front desk again..she said she had been busy and had not had time to send someone to catch roach yet!!!..then we opened luggage at home and a cockroach was in the bag!.it escaped and now lives somewhere in my house!!.......the key to our room never worked...we had to call and wait for staff to open our door three times...finally someone replaced the batteries in door lock 2 hrs before we left......our luggage was taken by mistake because they thought we were checking out and the maid manager and receptionist told us for 45 minutes that they did not have it and someone must have stolen it..they found our stuff finally..they did have it waiting at the valet..but we were not checking out, ..that was sad and stressfull....We were not charged for the room because of the roaches but i left La Paloma very unhappy,,,My money back??, thats not really what i wanted...I have been to La Paloma many times growing up and always loved it...This was the first time I took my children and am very disappointed they didnt like it because of all the things..I would like a re do..so they can enjoy it like i did when i was a kid..but i don't want to bring anymore roaches home!

Place is wonderful and beautiful! Great location with a fantastic view of the mountains. Full of pools, water slides, and tons else to do. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Will come back in future.

Beautiful views, ok rooms, weird set up of rooms... many of the buildings don't have the amazing views you come for. The pools were fun, the bar was good but very expensive. Dinner was acceptable? That's the best I can call the food but the service was great. Not a ton in the area. One good shopping center with food. Pretty far from downtown.

Lots of mice! Even by the pool area. Trash was left outside of our room for 2 days! It was disgusting. The pools were dirty and it took us 45 minutes to get towels. The espresso bar, looks great on the website but it was never open! Oh and the staff was rude. Horrible customer service. They also have a $30/day resort fee... Ridiculous.

I give two stars only because the staff during the 4th of July celebration was great.
My family was kicked out of our room at 11 p.m. because my 11 year old son was accused of hitting a staff member on a golf cart with a popper. This was inaccurate because I was standing outside with him and saw it hit the ground. Upon speaking to the on site Manager she talked down to us about "having common sense and not bringing contraband on property" ....a popper (the ones you throw on the ground and they snap) on the 4th of July- if we would have ever thought they weren't allowed we wouldn't have brought them. Not sparklers, not fireworks.....and no rules stating that they are not allowed. Not to mention, we spent $300 at the establishment during the day, had two rooms booked and was refused reimbursement for a room we were In for less than an hour. We were treated like criminals and escorted off property by two security guards. Way to show one of your Rewards members how valuable we really are to your establishment. We will never be returning although we come every year and you may want to work on your Managers skills on how to talk to guests like they are actual humans and not trash.

The grounds are pretty and views of the mountains are something to distract you from the otherwise unimpressive experience. I am hard pressed to find redeeming qualities for this place. Our room was not cleaned until 4pm on a regular basis. The room service we ordered one night may top the prize for the worst part of this stay, our pizza looked like something baked by an 8-year-old. The pasta we ordered was tasteless and was probably al dente 30 minutes earlier. I ordered (or tired to) from the front desk twice, one order was half delivered (they brought over napkins but the knife and fork were from a different department), the other order didn t come for 40 minutes, at which point I cancelled it. I d rate this as a 2.5-star resort at best in North America, or maybe a 4-star in Cuba. You really do not get your money s worth here. Really puzzled as to how others rated it positively. I guess if you re here for a conference and don t notice the details or pay for the stay, then its okay, but it s certainly not a hotel I d recommend or stay at again.

This resort is a fabulous place to stay for business or with family. The pool area is expansive. The Cabana rental is very reasonable. Every staff member we interacted with was kind and professional.

I was there recently with family for 5 days. For the most part all was well except at check out. When we had called originally to book our room, we were told that we had joining rooms and were given a matching price for each room. Then when we arrived, they realized they made a mistake and the two rooms were not connected. They then found another room that fit what we were originally promised.
At check out, I noticed that we were charged an additional $10 per night for one room, obviously not a big deal since it was a difference of only $50. But considering that we spent 3K for the week there and when I mentioned the additional charge per night even though it was a mistake on their end, the reply was sorry, at the time of the check in, rates were confirmed.

Rather disappointing specially since my brother is an actual member there and that he recommended for us to stay there.

As a Marriott rewards member for over 10 years, I can't even begin to express the disappointment and unpleasant experience I received this evening at this establishment. My friend and I have been driving cross country this week from Florida on a business trip with 6 beautiful birds to sell in California. My friend raved about how beautiful and pleasant it was and even mentioned how she fell in love when staying a few years ago at a tropical bird conference they had held. We had booked with La Paloma over a week ago with booking.com and mentioned in our reservation notes about the birds and requesting a first floor room for the convenience in unloading our equipment. We even called La Paloma and talked to a staff member about the birds that will also be staying with us. Upon arriving excited as ever, i sat patiently in the car with the birds while my friend went in to check us in for the evening. Things did not go as planned and we were denied a place to stay this evening. Heather Wallace's negligence in attention to detail and booking showed how little she cared for her cliental. She proceeded to tell my friend how there was nothing she could do for us nor offered us any sort or credit for future stays with the Marriott. Heather showed no empathy towards us and left us scrambling to book a place for the evening. You'd think in the midst of a pandemic, Heather Wallace would choose kindness above all things. I will not be returning to La Paloma ever again.

For a diamond resort is not ok to have urine stains on mattresses. I used to work in a 5stars hotel in Mexico and the standards are super high, we used bed covers to prevent stains in Mattresses. Other than that, the service was excellent, the breakfast buffet in Azul restaurant Is overpriced for the Quality and options of the food. The room size is wonderful!. The pool area is beautiful and well organized.

The room was nice and very clean. The parking layout isn't great. There's only the main parking lot which makes it a long walk with luggage. I wasn't happy with the resort service fee of $29 per day. That should've been worked into the price.

Running kids, paper thin walls, screaming and cackling old women.

This is possibly the worst Westin I have ever stayed in. The grounds are pretty and the rooms are nice, but it is by far the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in. Definitely not what I'm looking for on a weekend away. Seeing the reviews this isn't that uncommon. Here's a tip - don't put families with kids on the top floor. I was in a group with a few other rooms and some how every single one had screaming, jumping kids above them? That's just poor management . Not to mention we are Titanium Elite members.....

I visited the spa and highly recommend their hair and nail services. The place was wam and inviting and the people were a delight. Added bonus, my haircut is exactly what I wanted; no small feat with my thin, fine hair.

The resort was nice. The staff was friendly and courteous. The pools were nice. We have stayed at a lot of hotels and resorts. I can say that the quality of the room is okay. I have stayed at a holiday inn that was what I would expect from a resort. All in all the people are good but the room's need a little love.

I was recently there for the NET 2015 conference. I am with the company Intelligent Illuminations and we were the sponsors. The whole experience was very scenic and tranquil, and very much welcome coming from the midwest.

I love the set up of the rooms spread out with a walking path. It gives you time to take in the scenery, and everything from the mountains to the cacti growing right at your feet. In my room it was enjoyable to have a stand alone shower as well as separate soaking tub. The balcony was a nice feature although I did not utilize it.

The dining staff was especially pleasant and enjoyable. Nels and Deanna were absolutely perfect and very attentive! I don't mean to leave out anyone else so you all were great, just know that!

In my opinion Westward look is better. We stayed here over Father's Day weekend for the first time. The bed is too firm, and rooms were not as nice. The tub looked dirty. You have to park in a lot and they have complimentary rides to and from your rooms. A couple of times we called we had to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a ride and we ended up walking. My husband asked for a razor to be brought to his room when he left his at home so he could shave before work. Two calls later and 30 minutes passed by before he had to leave for work. The bellman showed up after he had already left and woke me up as well as a maid coming into my room. We also had people above us that were extremely loud late into the night. The pool was the nicest thing about this resort but in my opinion I prefer the Westward Look and won't be having another staycation here.

The location and view could t be more beautiful and not too far from the university or airport. I m told it s a bargain during summer months (especially if you re waning to lay back by the pool and relax).

OK, I am totally in love with this place. Their spa rocks, the rooms are delightful, and I never tire of their water slide! (My only complaint is that they shouldn't care if you go backwards, but I'd have to sign a waiver, or something, and even then I guess that stuff doesn't hold up in court, so whatever: our accountability-free, I'm-not-responsible-for-my-own-actions litigious society is embarrassingly appalling in that arena and produces people that never grow up... sigh.) (Not that I'll ever grow up: see previous comment about never tiring of the water slide!) It's perfect both for a summer family escape and a romantic weekend holiday.

This place is heading for dumpville in a hurry. The room floors haven't been mopped or vacuumed in forever (try walking barefoot in your room). The dinner bills were always wrong, as was the hotel bill. We've been there before but, never again.

The only reason this doesn't get one star is because the hotel is actually very clean. Other than that I would not recommend it. The rooms are nice but nothing to write home about. The "King" size beds they tote they have are actually just Olympic Queen size beds. Which are 10in less in width than a true king. They say that the hotel is dog friendly and that you get this warm welcome when you and your dog show up. In reality you have to ask for the dog bed and the dog bowl. We never received any dog treats or waste bags despite me mentioning it to the front desk more than once. Speaking of the front desk. Way under staffed. There was almost always a wait to be seen no matter what time you went. Another big issue we had is when we went to lunch at the golf club we were forced to sit outside. We were told that inside was for club members only and resort guests had to sit outside. In 101 degree weather. How does that make sense when I could be paying up to $500-600 a night to say at the resort. As for the pools they were nice. But I did not appreciate be harassed by the staff demanding i get out of the pool and go check in to make sure I was actually saying at the resort and get wrist banded. Last but not least is the wifi. Sure they offer free wifi. Very basic wifi if you would like sub standard wifi you have to pay $5.99 a day. And that's a 3 Device max. If you want 4 devices that will be $9.99 a day extra. There are plenty of "resorts" out there I would suggest finding a different place to spend your money.

Great setting and friendly staff. Went for a wedding reception and other than being in a tight space the staff was friendly and even helped clean up a city my daughter got while playing around. Nice pool as well and family friendly

I had an amazing time. The staff goes the extra mile to ensure you your needs are met. There are a ton of things to do nearby. We had a conference here and it was a great environment for work and play. On the first day, there was no coffee in the conference, the bartender walked and got me a Starbucks coffee. My mind was blown.

I reserved a block of rooms at the Westin La Paloma for my wedding in November of 2019. I was getting married at a church, however I had family and friends coming from all over the west coast and wanted everyone to stay at a nice hotel. I ve stayed at the Westin s all over the United States and have always had good experiences. From the very beginning, I had nothing but issues with my reservation. I was planning my wedding from out of town, had my family who lives locally went in person to meet with Raleigh, who was corporate event planner. They had an appointment to meet with her in advance. She was 45 minutes late to meet my parents and offered no apology, but said she was on a call. She was rude and for weeks after that meeting there were issues with getting our block of rooms corrected. The attitude from the woman was so bad that I finally took over communication with the Westin after complaining to corporate about my experience. From then on, I dealt with someone else who was the catering manger, Susan, who was was helpful, however my friends and family had every issue imaginable trying to book their rooms. They were told there was no reservation or there was no block of rooms. They were charged twice, had multiple reservations under their one name, etc. There was a point that I wanted to cancel the block of rooms, but coordinating friends and family from out of town was hard enough on its own.

On my wedding day, I walked out to the valet area where my new car had been parked by the valet to see my door smashed in. The entire door had a huge dent. I asked the valet what happened and ended up waiting for a manager to come out to explain. They told me that my car was hit and someone would contact me. I was furious as no one had any answers or insurance info as to who was responsible. I was upset but had to go on with my wedding day.

The next day, before I checked out at the hotel, I spoke with the head of security who refused to provide me the hotels insurance, but confirmed that a hotel golf cart had hit my car but didn t provide any details or timeline as to when my car would be fixed or who was paying for it to be fixed. Again, no apology was offered. Up to this point, I had talked to several employees and several managers, and not one offered an apology. I waited and I made a police report about the incident, as I didn t feel the Westin took responsibility for what happened. No one contacted me for several days after the incident happened, so I ended up calling my own insurance company to start the repair process as I still didn't have any insurance information.

After I made a complaint to corporate out of frustration, I started getting emails from a new general manager at the Westin. At this point, I already made a claim through my insurance company and already had a repair quote. My car repair cost approximately $4,000 and took over three weeks to repair. Because of all of the back and forth with insurance and non-responsiveness on the hotel s part, my car wasn t fully repaired until January 16th, it was damaged November 23rd.

After my repair was completed, my car was worth less than prior due to the door being replaced and half of the car being repainted. My attorney provided a diminished value expert s appraisal of a lost value of $5,900. After my attorney going back and forth with their insurance company s representative, I settled for $1,600, minus attorneys fees I walked away with $728. Keep in mind this was a newer BMW, that now has an accident on its Carfax. Also, I was sent Marriott points, however if I wanted to go back to stay that same hotel, the points wouldn't get me even one night. The first apology that I received regarding this incident was the woman who I spoke with who works at the Westin Marriott in corporate. When I called the police to get a copy of my police report for the incident, they asked me if I was calling about a Tesla that was struck the same weekend at this resort.Steer clear!

The rooms are amazing, great location, lots to do nearby. I had some issues with my rooms at check in but the manager squared everything away very fast and was nice enough to let me cancel a reservation that same day. It's a great place to take your family with all the pools and hot tubs they have, you'll never be bored while your there. Overall great experience and will definitely be coming back soon

I have been waiting to check in with my husband for 2 hours. All we wanted was a nice weekend for his birthday and now they wasted our entire day. We will probably not be back because the service was so bad which is sad considering the pool is nice but we never got to try it this time anyways.

The rooms are really nice. AMAZING views! We were only there visiting friends who were in town, but I would 1000% have a little stay-cation here! The pools were fabulous too! A cold refreshing mineral pool with a waterfall that flows and naturally warms up to a salt water pool designated for adults. Like 3 or 4 hot tubs? Then there is the kids pool (chlorine) which ironically is where the bar is located. It has pool and ground access which was nice. There's a water slide that I'm kinda bummed I didn't get to go on, it looked really fun! Service from the bar was a little slow, and their prices are high, but the drinks were good, views were incredible and the pool areas were kept decently clean, so I guess it balanced out.

All in all, even though I live in Tucson and only about 10-15 minutes away from this resort, I would still spend a weekend here!

We attended a wedding ceremony and reception. The ceremony was on a balcony near the pools and we could hear people splashing around during the ceremony. There was very little decoration if any. The cocktail hour was ok. Then the reception was in their Murphy room which again had very little decoration. They did have a nice dance floor and the attendants were friendly. We did not stay at the hotel since we live in the city so I cannot comment on that.

Shame on La Paloma and Marriott. You have chosen to host a large event of non- mask wearing participants for Vice President Pence. He has consistently flaunted CDC guidelines and now you have chosen to place our community and Tucson workers at risk in the middle of a serous pandemic crisis. Participants are required to sign an agreement to not pursue litigation against the Trump campaign or Marriott, should they contract Covid 19 at this event. Really. Is this disregard for public safety and the citizens of Tucson what you stand for? I live less than 1/2 a mile from this lovely resort. Please reconsider what type of community partner you want to be.

Room had a weird smell, literally called lobby multiple times and not once picked up - meaning you had to walk all the way to the lobby to get service, which is far! There was no shower gel and this is a resort, there was no menu for room service. For a pricey room, very disappointed.
