Went here for a conference. It is nicely tucked up against the mountains making it easy to get to local hiking trails. Most of the rooms have good views of either the city or the mountains. During my stay I requested some food via room service. It was quick and presented well. Everything tasted great. This resort also offers a nice workout room which I have used a few times. In the middle of the court yard there is a stunning pool area with a slide, hot tubs and rock waterfalls. All around my stays here have been exceptional.

I love everything about this beautifully remodeled hotel. Management is superior and it shows in their very friendly, helpful staff. The Sunday brunch was delicious with fantastic choices, I almost couldn't drag myself from those outrageously comfortable BEDS!!! I had a wonderful relaxing time at The Red Door Spa, with a facial, massage and a gorgeous RED haircolr, cut and style!! Their beauty bar has eye candy makeup with excellent service!!! Stop by the gift shop and pick up their signature lotion it's to die for!!! Lots to do and see with a shuttle to the local mall and restaurants!!! Let Go, just unwind here, very quiet when you need it and so much fun you won't regret it!!!

The building itself was good however the stuff where not nice. I was pregnant at that time and my sister wanted to go on the slide of the swimming pool but she can swim. So I went to the guard lady and ask her if she can go on the slide if she can not swim. She looked at me she starts shouting "if she can't swim why she go on the slide do you want to hold her while you are pregnant this is not right" I looked at her and I said I just ask you a question you don't need to shout. The manager of the pool came and she explained to him what happened I can hear them however he did not come to me and apologize he just followed me like I am a troubled person. In general I think the swimming pool, the tennis yard, and the activities connected to the spa are for the people who pay yearly fee to enjoy these things. They are not for someone who go and have two days of enjoyment. Find another hotel/spa to stay on if you are visitor.

Decent prices when you remove a cancellation possibility. Nice grounds. Great water entertainment.

Edit: while the beds were soft and heavenly and the shower delightful, the stay was a complete disappointment, since, once again, the water slide was inoperative. Since the whole reason to stay was for the slide itself, we were left wanting and Starr Pass satisfied.
And the mountain view room was from the front door; the balcony overlooked the noisy, slide-less, pool area.

We were anxious to see the Mountain view from our room, which we specified in our reservation 7 months in advance. When checking in, we asked the front desk to make sure the room is a Mountain view. Room E581 should be designated, "Giant Mesquite Tree Blocking Mountain View". Very bummed since we paid to stay at this "upscale" hotel.

This resort is excellent. It has a magnificent view of the mountains and is all-around beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. The housekeeping service goes out of their way to offer their best. The kitchen team did their best to accommodate vegan options when asked and the food was off the chain. The ballroom was adequate and not too cold. However, I would never have been able to afford the meals or stay if it weren't for the generosity of those who paid my way. I hope the Westin makes first-rate charitable contributions. That's how they can earn a 5-star rating from me for future visits.

Not a bad place, but disappointed with the management. We booked a room for 2 nights at a normal price. Unfortunately, we were there for an outdoor event and there was torrential rain day 1 and forecast for day 2. So, we checked out after day 1 prior to the room being cleaned yet were charged fully for night 2. I called the General Mgr to see if maybe they would split the difference or show some flexibility. Not only did they offer nothing, the GM didn't even bother to call me back - he had his assistant do it. No way would I go back there.

Rooms seem to have thin walls so you can hear everything. The coffee shop (key for professional conferences) are not open early or long enough. Staff are very nice and everything seems nice and clean. The landscaping is gorgeous.

Beautiful area, but I thought the rooms were subpar for the price. Been in hotel rooms for much cheaper and with more amenities. Parking was very strange and at times far away from our room (depending on the time of day we got back to the hotel). Staff was excellent, nothing wrong with how it's run, just don't understand the reason for the price. I still felt this way even with a discount.

I have been staying at Marriott's and other SPG properties for over 20 years. This ranks as the lowest I have ever stayed at.

I walked to my room through the rain and my key didn't work. I walked back through the rain to the front desk and no one was there. When they eventually showed up and remade the keys they said the door lock batteries must be low, but security would be right over. I walked back through the rain and walited for security. When they finally showed up they couldn't get in (low batteries). They went off and came back with a "break in" shim. After ten minutes of trying to break in the guy gave up and called for reinforcements. He stuggled for a while then asked the other guy to shine a light on the area of attempted break in. Eventually they finally made it in. They then wanted five minutes to change the door lock, while I cooled my heels. Radios blaring while they finished. Complete collapse of standard preventive maintenance.

Did I mention that even though they call themselves a "resort", there were only plastic cups and no glasses for water in the room? And the only bottle of water was $8...

I guess I should be grateful that the hotel was so incompetent that they couldn't break into my room!

In addition I went to the main restaurant and no one was at the hostess desk for a long time. When they finally showed up they said it would be an hour till I could get a single seat. They said I could go to the Contiga next door .When I walked through the rain to that restaurant they said they were sold out for the evening.

SPG should be ashamed of their management of an otherwise beautiful property. I guess I will retain my long-time loyalty to Marriott/SPG, but that loyalty is seriously shaken by staying at the Westin La Paloma!

Great resort overall with a few big misses. The place is falling apart in some spots including the main lobby and bar area. There is a massive stain on the ceiling from rain damage, the marble is faux on the walls and has seen better days, there are quite a few areas that have paint and surface damage that have been left without repair, etc.
Overall the pool area is great but there are a great many bricks that are loose around the pool and I saw more than one person catch a flip flop on the edge and go for a tumble.
Last, once you are past the front desk, the rest of the resort is run by teenagers. That can be good or bad but they don't have the skills to talk to people when it is time to close the pool for a monsoon or at 11 PM - also, why did it have to close at 11? Noise is not a problem at this resort and there are no lifeguards on duty even during the day.
Anyhow, still gave it four stars as it is overall a nice place to stay.

Had a wonderful experience at this resort that I stayed at. Dined at Sabino twice and each time I had good food and even better service, Mary Jane is an excellent server and brought me back the second time!

I m currently staying here at the moment. You d think with a higher tier Marriott hotel it would be.. higher tier. Boy was I wrong. This place is extremely outdated. Rooms smell weird. Bed hard as a rock. Furniture is antiquated and beat up. Dead bugs on my floor. This place was not cleaned properly according to Covid guidelines. I m counting the days my business in Tucson ends so I can get out of this resort. I am going to be staying at another higher tier Marriott hotel hoping they live up to their name unlike Westin. I am giving this 2 stars only because yes it is visually stunning OUTDOORS. Indoors is a nightmare.

This resort is very beautiful and I was impressed by the hotel, but I expected the staff to be more welcoming to my boyfriend and I. We only stayed for one night but at check in and check out the employees seemed really hesitant to treat us like we belonged there, even though we had a reservation set weeks in advance. My boyfriend and I are in our early 20s and everyone else staying there at the time we re much older business professionals there for a conference. My point is, we stood out from the other guests. I really felt that we were treated like they didn t really want us there. I have gotten better service at a cheap motel, probably because they appreciated our business. La Paloma seemed like they didn t care if they had or business or not. It seemed like they actually didn t want it at all. The guy who greeted us in the beginning was not as bad as the lady at check out. She looked us up and down like she didn t know what we doing there. She seemed surprised that we were guests and that obviously didn t make us feel like going there again. For a resort with such high standards I expected to see that but I didn t see any of that. The gym was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. No one said anything rude to me, it was the attitude that they were putting out towards us. I hope no one else gets an experience like this.

It wasn't what I was expecting! Our room seemed like it wasn't cleaned properly! As we first arrived to the room the bed seemed messy! I went to check the bathroom and in the shower there was hair and the shower floor was still wet! When I tried talking to one of the employees from the front desk the girl seemed bothered and didn't helped me out! Not sure if I'll go back to this place!

Beautiful place, but they will steal your money. Be sure to check your bank accounts 10-24 hours after departing for fraudulent charges. I work hard and earn my money, I do not appreciate this company taking my card information and charging it additionally, after I've already checked out, thinking I wouldn't notice. La Paloma, you and your staff should honestly be ashamed and seriously reprimanded!

I came to this hotel with my family for new year we stayed there for 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful but the service was so bad. The first day we came we waited an hour for a room and then 2 hours to get a crib for the baby. The day after we came back to the room after they cleaned it nicely they didn t leave towels and soap so we had to wait for 2 hours at 8pm with 3 kids for towels. House keeping over there is horrible ! We won t be back to this hotel! Not a kids friendly hotel.

Been coming to the La Paloma for a few years now for the holiday meals and Christmas tree. Was finally able to spend the night and sadly, it wasn't what I expected.

To start off, I couldn't find my room for 10 minutes. The front desk told me to ask the valet guys where my room was and that they would give me a ride there (on a golf cart). When I asked valet, they told me to walk down a paved path. They never offered to take me to my room. After a few minutes of walking, I realized finding my room was going to be a challenge. After traveling for 12 hours, this was the last thing I want to do.

When I finally found my room, I was very dissapointed. The room wasn't that clean, especially the shower! For such a large resort, I expected an updated and clean room. That wasn't the case. The room was just like any Marriott, Holiday Inn, etc.

If you want to park next to your room, look elsewhere. The main lot is a few minute walk from most of the rooms.

Stayed here for a week while on business. Resort is absolutely immaculate. Beautiful views of the mountains and the city. Rooms are spacious, clean, and well-priced. If I'm ever in Tucson again, I will definitely be staying here.

The pool area overlooks the mountain range and is truly one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen from a hotel in my life.

Staff are all incredibly friendly and quick to address any issues.

Well worth considering on your stay in Tucson.

If you haven't been here, then you should book a room or a day spa and come. It's a great location, and very close to all things surrounding the Foothills of Tucson. I came here near Christmas, and they had their annual Christmas Carol celebration, with Santa Claus coming in on a convertible, and a cactus tree. It was cool. The staff were super-friendly, and it gave me a sense that all of them enjoy their jobs very much. I was happy that my family invited me to come, and we plan on going back each year.

Go somewhere else. Worst service have seen at any hotel. Good location, but they miss it on every mark (food, service, bell service) Not worth going there on a vacation to leave frustrated.

This hotel/resort advertises as being high end, but it is nothing special. Everything was dirty. My bed spread was stained with what appeared to be coffee and even the hotel restaurant was kind enough to provide me with a dirty napkin with food crusted to it. Will definitely not be returning.

We visit the Contigo restaurant. The corn was well, already cut and easy to share with everyone. Tambre I took sure fettucine, what I can not very special. The waitress helped us quickly but also forgot some things. I recommend that you drive or use a taxi, not Lyft or Uber, because the hotel is in the foothills and it can be difficult to get cellular service and rideshare.

2 star experience at 4 star hotel.

2 star experience at 4 star hotel.
First, staff seems highly unsure and hesitant at any assigned duty they may have, which could be forgiven in a time like this. However, accompanied with the unsure staff is a attitude that seems they are shut off to being helpful and rather stand-off or argue. The bar experience was 5 person 20 minute wait from a highly inexperienced bar tender.
Second, there was trash bags and trash bag full of dirty sheets in front of our room for hours upon check in. To resolve this issue it took two phone calls. Toilet lever was unhinged which isn t a big deal but rather another thing that should be addressed.
Thirdly, after sitting in pool chairs for 3 hours that did not have any reservation signs we were told to move to relinquish our chairs to a reservation . The scene was bad enough for the guests of the reservation to apologize yet the staff did not offer any apologies or incentives.

We did have one positive experience in service from the server (Saul) working the pool. He was highly helpful and friendly.

After speaking to the manager she was kind of enough to refund resort fees, however this is a blip of what your experience at 4 star resort should be.

I stayed at La Paloma for a week and the place was fantastic. The service was excellent- any time I needed anything the staff was prompt and accommodating. Beautiful location, great golf course, and great pool for kids. The food was a little pricey for the quality but that is to be expected at a hotel. We had a great stay- thank you!

Fantastic spot, some aspects of the hotel are a little dated, mainly the AC, the Azul restaurant leaves a lot to be desired but there's Contigo and the poolside bar to make up for it. Great place to go get away, but pricey, be sure you remember that literally everything you buy will have an 18% resort charge added to it, so your bar tab can blow up real fast, especially when drinks are already $14. The "Under The Tucson Sun" is a fantastic drink though and worth the $14, especially poolside.
