Second year in a row to celebrate my granddaughters birthday with her California cousins. Pool area is top notch. Both adult only and children's pools. Mineral cold pool to rejuvenate. Water slide fun for all. Snack bar by the pool has excellent food with large portions. Fruit smoothies too. We rented a cabana and that had a refrigerator stocked with water and fresh fruit cups, tv and plenty of lounge chairs and tables.

The pools were so much fun !! Definitely recommend for a "Staycation" here in Tucson! Loved the Smores in the evening. Clean rooms and amazing service from the staff. We had so much fun going down the slide at the pool. Very nice resort.

Despite certain detriments, the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa is attractive. It is conveniently located near several important places like the University of Arizona. The rooms aren't huge, but are well furnished with comfortable because. Also, the staff are always courteous.

We came here once for our anniversary and it was probably one of the best resort experiences we ve ever had. The layout of the resort grounds and the architecture of the property is very attractive. We want to come back again soon for another visit. The front desk and staff were also very helpful.

Beautiful location. You don't feel like you're minutes from the La Encantada Shopping center but it's a great area to explore outside of the resort. Service in general was a bit sub par. They put a very large deposit (several hundred dollars) hold on our account without notification. We loved the pool area. It's broken into several smaller pools with two adult only areas. All in all a great visit.

Ok, so the service at the pool is not that great, BUT of course they r running on limited staff. Saul is at the pool, let me tell you this guy is a people person. Laid-back, willing to help you with whatever you want , so chill. Just a really really nice guy. If you ever come back here, which unfortunately we probably won't, ask for him. He is really great.

My family had our Christmas Breakfast there and I am so grateful the staff was patient and kind with us. They made sure our food was right and everything was perfect and so elegant. The food portions were huge compared to their prices too!

I m trying to call to get info on our stay for Saturday but no one answers and the live reps available don t know any of the info on my questions and she stated that the line for the hotel was busy. Please give me the correct number for the front desk as the one listed says it s busy for the past 2 days...thank you

Nice grounds and views. Dinner at Azul was very good. Staff were all pleasant. Unfortunately, my first room smelled as if a previous guest had experienced a fecal incident. The front desk assigned me a new room but offered no apology and simply said she "couldn't know the room smelled from up here". 2nd room didn't smell but scale build up clogged 1/2 the shower head, there was mildew in the shower and part of the fire sprinkler fell off the ceiling. I mentioned the unfortunate lack of maintenance at check out and got no response - she simply didn't care. I won't stay here again and I question the Westin brand now. Very disappointing.

The loud blaring music never stops here so if you plan to vacation on a resort and enjoy the sounds of the Tucson natural desert this is not the choice for you. The web site made it look so relaxing but the pounding music has turned my relaxing time into aggravation and stress.

The place is awesome. As soon as you get to the property, the customer service is amazing. You can ride a golf cart to your room, driven by a worker who also gives you a quick tour of the resort. I definately recommend taking the ride because the place is huge and you'll do quite a bit of walking to get around. We stayed in the traditional King room which was ok. Pretty big, nice bathroom also. I was hoping they had robes but not here. The Azul restaurant and lounge was spectacular. The employees were so attentive and made us feel valued. The food and alcoholic beverages were delicious. I'd come back just to visit the lounge/restaurant/bar area and also the pools when it's not wintertime. The don't lie when they say they have a pool oasis. It had wonderful views and a nice firepit area to relax around.

We stay here every year for our girls staycation. They always remember us and treat us like family. Travis had our luggage taken to our room and we were surprised with wine, cheese, crackers and fresh fruit to celebrate two years being cancer free. They pay attention to the smallest details that make your stay so enjoyable.

Thought this place might be a family friendly place with the waterslides. We were wrong. Maybe because we stayed on a Saturday night but this was definitely a college party spot. The swimming pool was dirty with food. We asked for a rollaway bed when we checked in and finally got it around 9 at night. Then our neighbors were up till 4 am loud music and screaming all night. Just had a bad experience. Thought I d post a review for someone in the same situation

this was a fabulous place to stay. tracey at the front desk was wonderful to us on the weekend of our wedding. she was great. our last night was different as at 1 am our room neighbour was banging on the door of his room trying to get in. when i called the front desk, the guy laughed it off saying he was locked out. i thought that to be very unhelpful.

A bad copy of the Westin Benahavis from Marbella. The concept of a resort with a golf course isolated from the City so that the guest can enjoy the facilities as much as possible instead of looking for options in the city.
At the Westin La Paloma the quality and finishes of the buildings are not top-notch, the rooms are half dirty with cobwebs, and already require a remodel.
The staff who work there are not very friendly: from the valet parking that without giving explanations refuses to receive the car and to have the luggage unloaded if one does not first go to the reception to register their entry. The person at the reception is also not very friendly and is not very helpful in explaining precisely how to find the assigned room. Anyway, it was not a good experience to stay in this place.
Days before I stayed at Four Seasons Scottsdale (two hours away) and the concept is definitely similar but the experience is totally different with luxurious rooms, well-trained and friendly staff, and excellent food quality.

The Westin la Paloma resort is a very nice (but older?) resort in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson, AZ. It easily accommodates couples, families, events and business conferences. The large pool areas (5 or 6 of them??) are separated into family friendly and adult only areas. The grounds are covered in beautiful little walking paths, almost like botanical gardens, themselves. The Red Door Spa has a lot of amenities and they have really thought out the details when it comes to what toiletries, etc., to have on hand in the locker rooms. The attendants are very helpful. The front desk and bellhop associates are extremely friendly, and the restaurants are fantastic. Our 2 complaints were: 1. We arrived 4 hours prior to check in. Instead of giving us a basic room (which we paid for), we were offered a lovely upgrade. If we wanted to use the pool, we would be called when our room was ready. At 5pm, we had received no call and I went to the lobby to inquire. There had been a change in shift, and no one had called us. They said our number wasn't recorded, even though there was a booking number on the account. 2. Housekeeping missed out on at least 2 days of tips. The first day after arrival, we were gone most of the day. Upon arrival back to the room at 6:45pm, we asked an attendant on a golf cart, who was collecting garbage. He said that housekeeping worked 9am to 7pm, and that they would't be able to come back that day. He was very quick to bring us additional towels and toiletries, however. We use the "Green Choice" service, which means they won't replace sheets and towels every day unless you ask, but it was clear no one had been in our room. The next day (3), housekeeping came very near the end of the day, so we went 2 days without coffee or other little supplies, nor a cleaned room. It was more of a disappointment than an actual problem (we are tidy people). Day 4.... no housekeeping again. Thankfully, no need for extra towels, but we were long out of coffee and creamers. Day 5 was check out, and I was sure to make compliments and let them know of our housekeeping issue. The manager immediately took of the (deceptive) $39/night resort fee, but then we have 4 "final charges" of different amounts on our card, 3 of which were after I authorized the final charge. Good thing we had the amount available on our credit card, and I will be watching diligently to be sure the holds/charges are dropped or refunded. Overall, though, it was a wonderful little vacation at a reasonable price (note: this was only "affordable" because it was off-peak resort season - aka summer, when the temperature is in the triple digits).

Nice location, but you'll need a car if you want to eat outwith the hotel. Lovely rooms, all in blocks around the site rather than one building. Seems to hold large conferences which can make getting parked a struggle.

Excellent hotel overall. Disappointed there was no staff at the waterslide or the pool side bar on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Staff very friendly. Furniture in the room starting to look a bit dated/worn.

Mariam at the front desk was amazing. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make our stay feel special. Can't wait to come back! Amazing facility and attention to detail

Although the approach to the resort is spectacular, its opulence seems a bit over the top and drowns out the natural surroundings.

Underneath the facade, it's a bit run down. The carpet in the main building is dirty, and the buffet breakfast served in the marble stepped open dining area was rubbery and tasteless. Although my large room was satisfactory, the a/c did not adequately cool the space; I was sweaty and opening up the sliding door cooled the place down.

While the resort boasts of multiple swimming pools and health club, the particle-board locker room is too cramped, old and smelly and not worthy of what Westin is trying to achieve. It looked like a locker room for work-out city in a strip mall.
It also was not clear how to gain entry to the locker room because although they have a swipe for the room key, it doesn't work; a bolted-on keypad also didn t work, and I found this goofy and frustrating.

I called for an appointment with a fitness instructor, Nancy Manning, who never showed up nor returned my calls, so the gym facilities lack certain professionalism. On my next trip to Tucson, I want to stay at a place that is less pretentious and more authentic.

Very over priced. For $400 a night I expect that The beds are not creaky, phones in rooms are not from 1992, the food at the hotel restaurant isnt bland and room service delivers past 10pm on the weekends.
The only reason I didn t give a 1 star is because the staff is fantastic and the view is amazing. Saying that I would not stay here again.
Im happy to pay a premium, but I expect a premium experience.

We celebrated our Antonelli family reunion. La Paloma was very accommodating there was 90 of us we had a banquet room all day and all evening many of our families stayed at the resort. The rooms were very clean and had nice views. The pool area was a lot of fun especially for the kids had a water slide. I thought that the Margaritas were overpriced and I was charged top shelf without being asked and an 18% gratuity added on. Yes it is a resort, just saying. We were served 2 buffets lunch and a dinner the food was okay but I've had better. The service was very good. And I think our next party will certainly be at La Paloma Resort in Tucson.

I just saw a cockroach in my bathroom this morning (right before checkout)... I went to grab my phone to take a pic, but when I came back to the bathroom, it was gone.

I'm just horrified by the overall experience and not sure how this resort has a good review.

My room also had a distinct smell. My coworker who came by also agreed with me. In addition, shower area was really slippery and I almost fell. I had to turn the hot water on for a while before I could step in.

Lastly, food was terrible. I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken was so dry and couldn't eat them. The cloth napkin had a ton of dust on it as well.

Overall, it was a horrifying experience.

A really great resort. Nice pool area with lots of options. Rooms are recently upgraded and very nice with wood plank tile in the bathrooms. Very comfortable bed. Great views from room, restaurants, and pool area.

I attended a wedding here for my friends. The venue was amazing and had a great view of the mountains. The reception after the ceremony was put together well and the staffed bar and dinner service was done professionally.

The bartender was super nice and very easy to the eyes. She stopped her closing duties to serve my friend and I one last beverage a piece. Their landscaping and hotel are immaculate. Beautiful resort. The best in the west:)!
