Spent the day at the pools, rented out a cabana. They have TV's inside of the cabanas which was great for watching the NCAA tournament games. The mineral pool was nice and cold, fantastic way to cool off quickly.

The sites can't be beat! While attending for a promotional event, the staff was courteous and fun to be around. When I had a personal need, I asked the staff for assistance and they went above and beyond.
I visited the pool area for drinks in the afternoon on a weekend. The pool area was attractive and clean, and had different spaces for families and adults without kids. Service was prompt and cheerful.
The location is beautiful, but hiccups in customer service diminished the experience. Room service was very late, emotion possible to get a table to eat during the day and noise from other guests prevented a restful stay. Unsure if I will return.
Gorgeous resort with stunning views of the Catalina mountains. Separate pools for families and adults, spacious rooms and a wonderful golf course are just a few of my favorite features of this resort. Both restaurants serve delicious southern style cuisine and the bartenders pour generously. Definitely worth the visit, I know I'll be back again.
Stayed for an impromptu weekend with my wife and our two boys (age 2 and 5). Had a great time at the pool. The kids pool was quiet in the morning which was a nice surprise for a weekend. They had a lot of kids themed things going on. My oldest played a few of the games. Only downfall was it took over an hour to get a crib delivered and prices for eating at the resort. For kids I suggest the Cafe by tennis courts. Hot dogs and chicken fingers for the picky eater. Can't say how things would be for an adult only overnight since we had kids the whole time but the adult only pool looked nice and Azul's menu also looked delicious.
No complaints on the room. If you can get a room in E building it was nice and close to the pools. Even in room 487 which is the furthest away in that building. Gorgeous back porch view of the mountains which was even better with a night time thunderstorm.
One of the best resorts I have ever been to. All the pools are heated except the mineral pool so you can swim in them no matter how cold it is. Rooms are very nice and clean. Employees were great and very friendly and helped with any questions I had. Great spa and gym as well. Well recommended place if your looking for somewhere to relax and get away for awhile.
The hotel is very nice and has lovely amenities. However, I could not give it more than 2 stars because of an issue that occurred once I left. I realized several hours after my checkout that I'd accidentally left my Kindle Whitepaper in the bed, and I called them right away to report my lost item. I only stayed one night and only took it out to read myself to sleep, so it was in the vicinity of the bed, likely in the sheets or under the pillows. I have called twice and sent emails, and almost two weeks later - my kindle has not been recovered. Apparently, their housekeeping staff will keep anything moderately valuable that they find and their staff does not care. I'm not sure what to do next, but I had to buy myself a new Kindle Whitepaper, which cost as much as the hotel stay. Very disappointing.
The Westin La Paloma is one of Tucson's large resorts with hundreds of rooms spread over extensive grounds. I was there for a business meeting, and the facilities are great for that, with meetings rooms and a restaurant on the property. It has spectacular views of the mountains to the north. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is welcoming towards guests. I didn't have time to sample the resort amenities so I can't speak to those. One thing I didn't like is how far the resort is from anything in Tucson - it would be a hike to walk to a restaurant off the property.
The resort was very clean and the entire staff were super nice. Chef Russell Michel at Azul makes some great food. I was here attending a charity event and the conference areas were clean, and there was plenty of air conditioning so it was as not too hot.
I was really eager about staying at this hotel. It came recommended by a co-worker, but it's been awhile since he stayed here. I booked a "deluxe poolside room". There is no pool visible from the room. All you can see is a tennis court fence. At night, there is no light or porch light outside. Just two high beam lights, that are unnecessarily bright, shining from across the tennis courts. There are no outlets in the room. Initially, I had to plug in all the lamps to get light in the room due to previous guest having apparently the same trouble with outlets. Needless to say, I ended up unplugging all the lamps to access power myself. The desk has two outlets that don't work, so after crawling under the desk, it got unplugged, too. I'm don't expect the hotel to rewire the room, but where are the lamps with outlets in them? Where is the bedside and desk power center? The cost for wifi is ridiculous in 2017, and the signal in the room was poor. $14 a day for a speed that can stream "hd video"? I expect that kind of price racket on a Delta flight or a hotel three hours away from an airport, not a major hotel chain in a large city. There is no padding on the bed. It feels like I'm sleeping on a military provided bed. There is a gnat issue which I don't necessarily blame the hotel for since it's part of the environment, but it's worth mentioning. The rooms are spread across the property. This means you're walking to your room without cover, so potentially in the rain/heat/sun. They have golf carts, but they made it sound like you need to valet your vehicle in order to use them. On top of that, the issue of tipping gets weird when you're traveling for business. If they would just offer a fee for the golf carts, I could expense it much easier. Or just make it part of the resort fee. Part of me really hopes that's already the case. If so, it would be nice to have that made clear and land the expectation as to whether or not the driver expects a tip. There is no pantry to shop for drinks or snacks at night. You'll either need to hit a store before arriving, go order at the bar, or pay for room service if you want anything after 7PM. The staff was friendly when I interacted with them. They were warm and welcoming. They are the one and only high point to this stay. Overall, I just did not get a sense of "resort" or "luxury". The place feels 20+ years old. Fairfield Inns are much more modern. If you're here to play golf all day or sit in the pool, it's probably not a bad decision, but there are better decisions to be made in Tucson. If you're here on business, like I was, steer clear of this place, in my opinion. I normally leave really great reviews. I'm pretty easy to please. If a hotel takes the time to accommodate the traveler, I appreciate it. But I can't imagine anyone in a decision making role has stayed here as a customer and attempted to put themselves in a guest's shoes. I assumed I was treating myself by staying at this property. I envisioned explaining to finance why I feel the resort fee is justified. I looked forward to suggesting the place to coworkers supporting the project with me. But after this stay, I'll save the company some money and stay closer to downtown and the airport. This was my first stay at an SPG hotel. I'm a Platinum Preferred Guest due to my status with Marriott. I am constantly on the road for work. While I know SPG can do much, much better than this, I'll be looking for accommodations elsewhere while I'm here in Tucson for the next couple months. I look forward to giving SPG another shot in the future, sometime.
Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The resort itself was fantastic. Beautiful location, we had a mountain view. Rooms were Very nice with a balcony.
Quite expensive. Service is mostly slow and lacking. Buffet breakfast had something missing everytime we got up to get something. At dinner we waited two hours for our food (and get 50% because of that). Pools are nice. Rooms are ok.
Wish I could give it 0 stars, because our 4 hour experience there was awful from the beginning. We booked a staycation here for the weekend, went to check in at around 7 PM on Friday night and we're told the room isn't ready yet. 1st sign something was wrong! Check-in was at 4, we're checking in at 7 but the room still isn't ready? We get our room at around 8 PM, and we notice the A/C is pretty loud. We figured it was because they had it cranked down to 65 so we turn it up and try to finagle it to quiet down. Instead, it continues to rattle and bang and get progressively louder. We called the front desk, explained it was loud and their response was they were "at capacity" and engineering was gone for the night, but they could fix it in the morning. We tried to sleep, but ultimately packed up and left at midnight. Their response was could they get us a bellman to help us with our bags? They're lucky we live in town and just wanted a nice weekend by the pool, and we had a house to go to. Otherwise they would have forced us to attempt to sleep in a room with obviously broken A/C. They didn't offer us another room, they didn't offer to send us to another hotel or anything. I'm absolutely appalled at how they run this hotel, and don't recommend anyone stay here until they improve.
Literally do not have enough good things to say about this place. I had been there once in college but I didn't really get to experience it. When we started looking for wedding venues, my husband and I decided to take a look at this place. We were wowed right off the bat. First of all, the place is gorgeous, with breathtaking views from the front and the back. The wedding site was a whole other story, I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. On top of that we had a PHENOMENAL wedding coordinator (McKensie who is no longer there). We had wonderful service, and I could not have been happier with how the wedding turned out because of this venue. We also had to stay there this summer when our A/C broke, and they were so accommodating the entire time we were there. P.s. they have wonderful summer rates. Highly recommended!!
I decided to take my family for a brief vacation on Memorial Day Weekend and was extremely disappointed with the Westin La Paloma. Check in was supposed to have been at 3:00 however at 3:53 the rooms were not serviced and would not be available for another hour possibly 2. This resort may be OK in the off season but I would not recommend visiting during peak times. This resort cannot perform at full capacity. Definitely would not recommend if you are looking to de stress. The delays alone are enough to try a person's patience.
Beautiful resort. Lovely views and very focused on being part of the native ecosystem so lots of local flora and fauna. Very nice staff. Beautiful, clean rooms. I'd stay there again.
Settled in the shadow of the Santa Catalina mountains, and surrounded by the beauty of the Sonoran desert the Westin is a wonderful place to unwind and relax by the pool, or play golf. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will return.
Very nice hotel with a good number of pools, a water slide, and a fantastic view. Unfortunately my mountain view room only had partial view and a tree right in front, so giving 4 stars. Food at Azul was delicious too.
We stayed here for a week. The pool and facility was beautiful. The front desk staff was hoity toity. Food and beverage was expensive. $8 for a beer and $7 per egg. Gym was great, but should be considering you pay $29 per night plus tax to be able to use it. Oh, and you get 2 bottles of water (complimentary) for your $29 as well, what a bargain. Carpet was gross, turned our socks black. Housekeeping and groundskeepers were extremely friendly, but front desk was put out when asked questions. NEVER AGAIN! Very disappointed for a Marriott Property! Oh and don't add the breakfast included on your reservation, as when you get there it's nowhere to be found
We did not have a good experience at The Westin la Paloma. Service was not good, we had to switch rooms because of the air conditioner not working and it didn t work in both rooms for our entire stay, we had ants in our room....over all it was a disappointment.
Wife and I enjoyed our mini honeymoon getaway for a weekend here. Staff and amenities were top notch. Very laid back environment, clean, and quiet. Room service food is pretty good, a little expensive but that is expected. Can't recommend the cookies and milk lol and the rooms feel a little out dated but doesn't bother us... if you are from out of state then you would definitely dig the desert vibes here.
My wife, 16-year-old son and I just concluded a 7-day stay at the Westin La Paloma. Overall, it was a terrific vaction in a magnificent setting. Pluses first: The staff were most accommodating in circumstances made challenging by three back-to-back large conventions. Two people in particular, Nakita Barber and William Ha, went to all lengths to protect us from the fray and to give us VIP treatment, making certain that we had the best of room left from among those blocked for the conventions and that our car was always at the ready. We really appreciated these two young people. Without their attentions I would be writing a different review. Breakfast was excellent, especially at the golf club, where nonmembers can dine al fresco. Evening dining at the hotel was excellent at Contigo (Make reservations at this popular spot.) The maitre'd and wait staff are excellent. Spa, golf, fitness, tennis and other resort facilities and services are uniformly first-rate. The location is breath-taking, with a choice of panoramic city views or arresting mountain and golf course vistas. There is a wealth of excellent nearby dining facilities. We liked Wildflower and Anthony's especially. Drawbacks: When the hotel is full of conventioneers, the atmosphere seems more like work than vacation. I wish we hadn't had to work so hard and change rooms in the middle of the week to get the accommodations we booked. We wish the facilities were fresher, a remodel is in order. Cleaning staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to do the sort of thorough job that is the hallmark of Westin, even though we tipped daily and generously. Overall, our stay was very pleasant, thanks to Nakita and William and a few other caring attentive staff. We recommend the Westin La Paloma and we suggest first checking for convention bookings ahead of your planned stay.
The Westin La Paloma is a very nice hotel. The rooms are set back from the pool and surrounded by trees and birds to give it little bit of a secluded cabin feel. Beautiful views overlooking the mountains, weather is amazing, staff is very helpful, multiple pools and a few hot tubs, slide was under construction while we were there. Room was nice with comfortable bed, patio with chairs, very nice bathroom with standing shower and a separate tub. Multiple spots to eat food on the ground, kid and pet friendly, swim up restaurant/bar at pool, parking is free overnight. It can be pricey if you don't find a good deal, but would stay here again. Golf too if that's your thing
This place is nicely run, updated and really nice in this area. Came here to escape the winter and loved every moment. I will say the internet has some great speeds but the captive portal is not functioning which is nice for the guests but dosent let the hotel collect it's analytics.
Although Covid kept the review from being a 5 star, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Very accommodating staff. Lobby bar was great with great bartenders. Food at Contigo was amazing.
This was the perfect spot for it weekend retreat. Amazing views, courteous staff, and clean spacious facilities all made our stay comfortable and relaxing.
Had drinks and light bites by the bonfires out back behind the bar by pool, salmon sliders and chorizo/manchego flat bread pizza were pretty good, draught beers were not able to be poured due to a CO2 issue, thus we settled for water... Overall, enjoyed our time and family staying there were satisfied with their stay (all except a very long wait time at check-in).
Zero communication from check-in staff and accounting was worse. Customer service skills can go a long way and a simple explanation without condescension would be appreciated. Not impressed and would not recommend.
Awesome place....... pricey but definitely worth it..... staff was super friendly and always provided services with a smile. Heated pools, water slide, beautiful lobby.... had videos of the rooms, lobby and pools but unfortunately am not able to post. Rooms come with rainforest shower heads AND a separate bathtub.. very spacious, lots of dinning options including health foods, Elizabeth Arden Red door salon, horse back riding, hiking and much more........ by the way, did i mention a water slide? .... theres a 40ft water slide, hut tubs... pool areas close at 11pm.
