This resort is staggeringly beautiful. It's expansive with multiple pools. Our room has a lanai that leads right onto the pool. I did have to ask for more towels and water for the room, but it didn't affect the luxurious level of our stay.

This place is a must to stay at if you are in Tucson. Right at the bottle of the Catalina Foothills. The front desk help is fabulous. The buffet worker Aaron is the best. He is always busy. Our room was over looking the Catalina Foothills. Several pools, hot tubs, and great fitness center that is open 24/7.. also a Lap Pool. Just wonderful.
Where do you start with this place besides the scenery being jaw dropping breathtaking at every corner. The amenities the pools the rooms I think we're perfect everything exceeded our expectations and the view you cannot say enough about. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating anything we needed they took care of it without question and always had a smile on their face! It was wonderful just waking up in the morning and walking around the grounds of the hotel because everything was so beautiful as the Sun came up.
We went to Azul at The Westin La Paloma for New Year's Eve dinner and 2018 celebrations. It's a well known resort you would think service would be wonderful but far from it. The dinner sounded delicious and for an extra $20 you could get it paired with wines which were good and very generous pours. The dinner consisted of mashed potatoes, bacon wrapped filet w/ grilled prawns and vegetable mushroom medley. It was ice cold! In addition to the ice cold dinner our whole evening we were freezing cold.
It was an abnormally cold night in Tucson our party of 8 was seated in an area where people were continuously going in and out of the doors. We had a constant draft. We asked to be seated in another area and the manager said no even though several tables had opened up and no one re-seated. We were told they could bring us blankets. They brought us 2! Many of us had black on and they gave us light blankets.
The service was slow. Our dinner took 3 hours! We could hear the NYE celebration going on upstairs but we could not participate because we were not done with dinner and the server was slow cashing out our bill. We finally got there at 11:45 pm and got to ring in the New Year but had an hour to dance. We were also forced to pay a 20% gratuity because of our party size. Which I have no issue with but with substandard service and cold food paying $258 per couple was a bit hard to swallow...no pun intended!
The NYE party was "family friendly" along with the DJ. Most of the kids left before 12. I enjoyed the fun music through the years. The party was complimentary and a real blast. I would have like more.
If we did it again we would be sure that we went early enough to send our food back or go elsewhere and come for the party.
Beautiful location to stay at when visiting Tucson for business or pleasure. The staff are so friendly and provide top notch service. The amenities are very good and the food at Contiga (restaurant) is excellent. If you are looking for more food options, head a mile or so down the road to La Encantada where some great restaurants and shopping are located!
A solid hotel and resort, and likely your overall assessment will be skewed by the rate you paid (moreso than a typical hotel given the spread in rates on certain dates, in season, etc.). We managed to secure a $135 night (including resort fee since they will not), and for that price it is quite a bargain. The rooms are what you'd expect from a slightly older Westin, which is solid. But the grounds (massive pool area, tennis club, waterslide, golf course, etc.) are the real attraction of this place. Beautiful scenery, solid service, and affordable rates make this a very reasonable stop while in Tucson. It's also not too far removed, location wise, from a lot of restaurants, downtown area, etc. Most major places to visit are about a 15 minute drive.
Felicia at front desk greeted us with attention and kindness. This was especially important as we called La Paloma Friday afternoon from the lobby at StarrPass where our connecting room request resulted in rooms in the same building but on two different floors! Felicia found us connecting rooms and our weekend was transformed into the best weekend our grandchildren could have had and which they pronounced as the best vacation ever! All staff, from the bell staff to housekeeping at La Paloma, is top rate. We have stayed at this hotel many times, the remodeled gym is beyond belief and the grounds are spotless and well attended. We will be back at least 3 more times this year if our schedules allow.
We went in September, but not given information as to what was opened/closed. I am sure when it's a normal situation the resort is 5 . Reservations needs inform inquiries current information.
Beautiful resort... The bars close very early... So does the coffee shop... The prices of everything are through the roof. Won't use this place again when I return to Tucson.
I had the pleasure of attending a conference at the Westin La Paloma. The venue is setup nicely for large events, allowing plenty of space for breakout sessions and general sessions. The staff is very friendly and the hotel conference area is pretty easy to navigate.
Decent place to stay with cool (actual cool pool too) pools and a waterside. Room was in great condition too with a separate shower and bath. The shower was a rainfall one which was neat. Only issue that I could find is the bed not being fully tucked in and feeling some of the bed protection covers. Also it's a bit of a distance to get to some rooms, tho some may like this. Ove it was a great place to stay and I would reccomend it as a good resort.
Great place for breakfast. Drinks in the lounge were great. Didn't catch her name, brunette that worked the morning great personality and very helpful.
Check-in was a great experience. Immediately greeted and felt welcome, Andrew F. did a great job! I was upgraded to a room with balcony view of golf course - made me wish I brought my clubs! Room was clean and well organized. Pool was amazing! Enjoyed the cold water pool/waterfall. And yes, I did enjoy the water slide a few times, not to mention Tucson's, if not AZ's only swim up bar. Great experience.
The best Resort in Tucson. Excellent place to forget your sorrows and get out of this world. Your Red Door Spa is simply the best on this planet and the views and sunsets make this place something MAGICAL!
We recently help our company conference here, and I can't say enough great things about this hotel! The staff here is nothing short of amazing, the grounds and rooms are beautiful, great restaurants and just an overall AMAZING experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!
The pool bar could really use a Spotify account or something... Kinda surreal having to listen to ads in a place this excessively opulent. Speaking of which, I can't help wondering how many tons of water they go through every day just to keep the misters on and that pointless patch of turf grass green... But I'm not pretending I was too good to dunk my feet in my friend's hot tub at night! Probably could afford covers for the private hot tubs to reduce evaporative loss during the day when nobody's around though, no?
If you plan on sleeping make sure you get a room on the top floor. We had a room on the bottom and my parents had one one the second. You heard everything all night long. Anyone, coming or going, back and forth until 1 in the morning. It started right back up at 5. BACK AND FORTH. We also reserved two rooms with two queen beds and when we got to our rooms they were rooms with a king. There was nothing else available and they told us that they would bring us a roll away. That never came.
The pool bathrooms were so dirty!!! Pool was cloudy and film on water. Didn t feel safe using the bathroom because of how unkept they were. The pool staff told me that it was recommended that I tip him on top of the 18% tip he told me they split with pool staff. I was actually told you need to tip me also far from a 4 star hotel considering the unkept pool and condition of bathrooms.
Had a fun staycation with a few friends and we were impressed by the pool area and staff service. The pools were the perfect temperature and our bar tender Dom made great drinks. Mariam at the front desk was friendly and informative. She recommended dinner at Contigo which we all really enjoyed! The only drawback was that the main restaurant was closed and housekeeping/ room services were limited. But we will definitely be back soon!
I attended a continuing legal education seminar at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa last Friday, March 10, 2017. The occasion was a meeting of the Arizona chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the highlight of the day was the honoring of my friend, Judge Eileen Hollowell (Retired) for her years of tireless service to the Arizona community.
This is the second time I've been to Westin's La Paloma Resort and it was even better this time than last -- I got an opportunity to sit out on the second level balcony and take in the majestic site of the Catalina Mountains foothills.
If you are looking for a lovely place to get away from it ... whether you are local or out of town, this should be very high on your list!
Really nice hotel, good views, pretty landscape and extraordinary staff. Sleeping was very difficult for me, the bed is pretty hard and you can hear and feel everything outside your room, I don't know how but I felt how the building was trembling because a kid was playing with a ball outside our room. I don't think it's worth 200 dls a night, they could have better TVs as well. one of the sinks in the bathroom clogged and the shower that is supposed to be cascade it's also clogged so there's no cascade effect. I'm not sure if I want to sleep another night at this bed.
I recently stayed 1 night for a Wedding on 4/13. I have been to this resort a few times as my company host their Holiday party here. The only thing I was very unhappy with was I requested a early check in time, and not only did I not get a early room, is I waited until 20 minutes after 4:00 P.M and still had no room. I had to go ask if I could get into any room so I can get ready for a 6:00 P.M wedding. I was the only person waiting around while many people walked up and checked in while they had me waiting. I'm sure it was just a 1 time deal, but I don't pay $230 to get checked in 1 hour before a wedding, especially since I mainly got the room to get ready before and stay after the wedding. Other than that, it is a very beautiful resort and everything else was how it was supposed to be.
We recently stayed at The Westin La Paloma on a busy holiday weekend. Service was top notch. The check in process was seamless. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Not to mention the beautiful views. The service at the pool was quick and efficient. Despite having a full hotel, the hotel remained very clean. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at Azul. The food was prepared perfectly and our service was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.
The views from this property are outstanding. The rooms are extremely well appointed very comfortable very clean and the staff is amazing. I will absolutely be back and will have to try the spa next time!
Really nice hotel with a great staff. I have been to a couple of conferences hosted at the hotel and they have really great amenities. It's in a great location as well that's very scenic in Tuscon.
Stayed at the Westin La Paloma on a family pleasure trip to Tuscon in March 2019. The accommodations were perfect. The staff provided our every request. The food was great and conveniently located. Great golf course at the resort. I left a couple of items in my room when I checked out. One phone call and the resort located and identified the items, and shipped them to my home in a very timely matter. I only had to pay postage.
Beautiful course, very challenging. Friendly pro shop, starter. Starter was rushing people off, trying to stay ahead of schedule, though. Pushed another group right up our butt on the 1st hole... not a great start to our experience, but it got better!
Stayed there during an off season, early Dec, and really enjoyed it. Had the place nearly to ourselves. Good food choice, great staff, nice rooms and great pool and got tub options.
I have been doing body work for over 30 years and have had great and poor massages. Just had a signature 80 minute massage and this was absolutely one of the poorest massage I have ever received. For $200.00 you would think they would make sure their massage therapist would be exceptional. She was a nice person, but her skill level was very sub standard.
During my visit here I had no problems at all with staff or the location itself. It's a very good resort to relax and have fun, they make amazing food there in my opinion.
Hotel is gorgeous. They offer lots of free parking as well. Only downside is the elevator was broke in our building and there were a ton of security around pool areas.
I went for a graduation celebration. We had hors d'oeuvre and drinks in the patio followed by dinner and dancing. All the food was fantastic! My t family and I had a lot of fun. The view was beautiful and the servers were awesome! I will look into using the Westin La Paloma to host my next social event!
What a truly awesome place to stay. It was so peaceful....we never heard anyone else. We had a lovely view from our own, private patio. The room was huge. Unlike most rooms, there was a large shower AND a large tub. We had room service every morning, which was tasty. Awesome service. We will definitely stay here again!
The service from the spa to the security was on top! Jonathon, from Security, brought first aid items to our room (I had forgotten them when packing). And Nadia, Massage Therapist, was amazing! I give kudos to all of the other staff members we came in contact with as well!
Attended a business function with dinner provided. Excellent menu, staff very attentive, service excellent! Accommodations for the meeting we're well thought out and comfortable.
My first and last time there. I Arrived a little bit before check in time which was supposed to be 4 o clock, they told me my room wasn t ready. So me and my kids waited by the pool which was fine. We waiting almost two and a half hours till we were able to receive our room key. Once we headed to our room which was pretty far from the pool area we got to what was supposed to be our room and there was a man there half naked! Telling us it was his room. We headed back to the office, keep in mind I had a 1 and 5 year exhausted from swimming and waking back and fourth. We arrived to the office explain the the person to the front desk what had happened all he had to say it was the wrong room key. By then this was 7pm we got to our room passed out and left as soon as we woke up. Not planning on going back there again.
