Very clean, antique design, and they apologized for their rude customer service at the door and resolved the issue. No one is perfect so we appreciated them taking responsibility and acting on it.

This is a nice hotel that has the fanciest women's bathroom I've ever seen. I loved admiring every bit of the hotel and its surroundings. The employees there are all friendly and hardworking. I had a wonderful time while staying at the Waldorf Astoria.

Good if you want an old era feel, nice location & Great view of city lights in evening. Food was nice too & staff is decent to you. But obviously they reserve their best for VIP guests perhaps, so do not expect the treatment you heard that's been arranged for Presidents & state heads.

I will mention that I was turned off by the cost of the valet service since we drove down and needed access to our car frequently. There were no other locations that I was comfortable and was feeling like I was going to backed in to a corner. It was great, all the staff were great and I should not have second guessed anything.

I was going to catch an international flight from JFK, so I have to stay one night in NYC. Finally choose Waldorf because of its reputation and history; the classical look of the main lobby really impressed me, I like the little clock tower at the center. The friendly staff at reception provide great service.

The room is good but I felt like that the style is not for me. As a young man I more prefer a modern style room such as the InterContinental or the Hilton. But anyways I am writing this review in the comfortable king bed, and so far I have a pleasant stay at Waldorf=Astoria. Will indeed choose to stay there again if get any chance.

This time is only an over-night stay in NYC so don't have too much time on exploring the hotel. (Dinning, Cafe, etc. ) Looking forward to stay again in Waldorf.

The lobby and the interior design are magnificent. The service is very good and helpful. The only bad thing about it is that the Standard rooms have some little scratches. But nevertheless it was a comfortable stay.

Nice hotel if you don't have much "modern" expectation. The Sunday brunch is great though it was pricy. It was a pity that we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy that! The room is a little dated and hot water was cut off on the morning of our departure date, somehow unconvenient.

How the mighty have fallen! After an 8 hour ride to NY City, I arrived at the World Famous (now infamous) Waldorf Astoria. After parking my Escalade in the valet, I put my luggage on a vacant bellhop cart. The Valet attendant watched us unload my vehicle without a ounce of effort on his part. As we went to move the bellhop cart, he would not let us use the cart as it belonged downstairs. When I asked him why he didn't help or tell us this before we loaded the cart, he lost the ability to speak English all of a sudden, disappointing. I realized I was dealing with someone that was clearly unmotivated to do his job
We were headed to the 8th floor, room 887, and we were excited to be in one of the most famous hotels in the world. What was waiting for us in our room? Luxury? Unprecedented service? A room so clean that you could eat off the floors? We were so excited. The excitement began to wayne as we got closer to our room. Dirty walls, dusty ceiling vents, wall paper draping off the wall from water damage, barely held on the wall with the cheap masking tape they had used. Tons of scuff marks and gouges in the wall paper in the hallway,. Not just at luggage level. I noticed badly broken electrical outlets in the hallway as well as vent fitting that no longer seated into their moorings. I was wondering what had happened? Then we got to the room. Our party of 4 was crammed into the smallest room I have ever been in. We order a "deluxe" room and this was just heartbreaking. There was black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the room phone was missing it's cord and unable to be used. There were stained sheets on one bed, and a big stains on cloth of the chairs, lit-up nice and bright with a black light! There was a funky discoloring at the window molding too, a black/grey that specked the part that most likely received air from the outside, or perhaps rain.
We were tired and I don't like to complain, so we just lived with it. Judging from the condition of the hallway, there was no reasonable expectation that any room they transferred us to was going to be any better. Fortunately, the holiday hours were in effect for room service, so we were able to order room service at 2am. That was great news. It took the staff several trips to "remember " to bring the entire order, and I'm still waiting for steak knives to arrive , but the meal was good.
Upon sleeping , my friend said she was gotten bitten on her exposed legs. Upon pulling back the covers, she had over 100 bites on her legs, bed bugs I guess. I had PJ's on so I was saved from being riddled with parasites. Nothing some Aloe Vera couldn't fix, with some sleeping pills to work us past the idea of insects in our beds. After that, we thought it besides if we all wore street cloths to bed so we wouldn't be next on the parasite desert cart, of course after taking pictures. Being a retired police supervisor, I realize that documentation was necessary to prove what had happened in the hotel of nightmares.
In the morning- showers. Surprising good water pressure, but the spotted black vegetation on the ceiling wasn't attractive (black mold?). The door was in poor shape and I would have been embarrassed to have it in my own home. Growing dust bunnies in the GFI outlet was obvious as well as several fixtures that had rusted through the paint. The door was in bad need of recalling of the panels and repainted.

This hotel used to be a land mark... It's not a hotel anymore, now it's closed. I heard that the owner which is a Chinese Corp wants to turn it into a luxury condo building... I believe it shouldn't have been sold to Chinese

This Hotel is an aging star... This institution needs a major remodeling of the rooms. The 25th floor was VERY old looking, the room was very small... peeling wall paper, dirty window sill, old carpets, uncomfortable bed and everything down to the room phone was dirty. The bathroom was something you might see at the Pennsylvania hotel, outdated and filthy with paint caked on the molding of the mirror. This entire place is a terrible facade of wealth. My one night bill was almost $500, a nominal fee that would be fine if this institution would keep it self up. The room service food was decent and the only reason I gave it a second star... But be it no mistake, the accommodations were a 1.

From here, I see the routine, I will post this and they will apologize below as an act of shill and attempt to save face. However, this is an unacceptable venue to charge the prices they do. Avoid the rooms here at all costs, because it WILL cost you.

Not a bad hotel if you like the smell of an outhouse. Few calls to front desk yielded nothing of course.

I'm in room 1315 until tomorrow, then not coming back unless they renovate or put me in the Towers.

The Waldorf staff did a great job during or event. The rooms, however, are dated. I was also put in a room right below a part of the hotel where some sort of work started before nine in the morning. I awoke to loud banging.

The lobby is dark and gloomy, the rooms are so small and outdated --wallpapers peeling off, the rugs are dirty and worn out, mildew on the tile grout in the bathroom, dirty water draining ooh so slowly from the tub while taking shower. The elevator C doesn't work or stop on the floor we were in which was the 16th floor. Other Hilton properties are way much more comfortable and cost less....staying here was a BIG disappointment.

A New York City landmark. It certainly lives up to its reputation of luxury. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are fantastically appointed. Do yourself a favor and stay here at least once before they close in March

Service was poor. I arrived on a Friday, and my trash was not picked up until Sunday. On Saturday, when my trash was not picked up, we bagged it and placed it in the hallway. It was still in the hallway on late Saturday and on Sunday. In fact it was not picked up until Sunday late afternoon. This is unacceptable for a 5 star Hotel. One morning I went into the hallway to fill up our ice bucket, (a 5 star Hotel should actually do that for you) and the ice machine was broken. I reported it to the staff and was told to call for room service. WOW, how about YOU call and get it fixed? I can go to a cheap hotel/motel and at least get ice and my trash picked up. This is terrible. One morning, I walked outside and approached the doorman to ask a question, about when the Grayline bus stops by for first morning pick-up, He barely glanced at me and couldn't be bothered. He actually told me the wrong information, he told me to go down 2 blocks, and that he didn't know anymore info. I knew that the bus picked up and dropped of AT the Waldorf, because I had taken the bus there the prev day, I just wanted to know when was the 1st pick up time. He must have NOT noticed me exit the Waldorf, and assumed I was just a passer-by. NO EXCUSE for his rudeness. When I notified the front desk of my complaints, I was offered an up-grade (on my last night), I declined. I JUST wanted good service. Is that TOO much to ask for?
I was also told, when I booked the room, that they would do something extra for my Birthday, since I was celebrating it while staying there. Well that didn't happen. In fact I couldn't even get what I paid for, much less an extra benefit for my birthday.
On our last day, i went to check the ice machine , to see if they fixed it, it wasn't. In fact, another guest told me that the ice machine had been broken for 5 days, wow?

Had to stay here once and we did. The hotel and it's history is great but the staff not so much. I didn't have issues per say, but you don't feel appreciated at all. It's more like your cattle and the staff is here to move you in and out as quick quick as possible. The restaurant was fairly crappy too. The prices are redonkulous and the food is below average. Again, we wanted to have that memory - so go to the hotel at least once

Iconic hotel, Waldorf Astoria on Park Avenue, NYC, opened on October 1, 1931 at its current site. It has been host to many global leaders, Hollywood celebrities, Presidents of the US and thousands others.
It gives a sense of space in this crowded city and presents an old world charm, through its ambience and service.

Recently attended the RPA Assembly. This place is classic NYC. Elegant spaces and ornate rooms serve as an amazing backdrop for the conference. Everything from the food and drinks to the service was impeccable. Stayed afterwards for drinks at the bar. If you haven't been here yet put it on your list.

By FAR the Worse Motel Brand in The WORLD. This Place is a Complete Dump with Hiltoned Service; HORRIBLE. Marriott is Much Nicer, and a Better Price; and They Match Your Name with Your Rewards Number; Hiltons Won't Even Look It Up; Cheap and Stingy.

It was an absolute treat to stay in this long established hotel. The rooms and lifts are a little bit antiquated but that is part of its charm. The situation is absolutely perfect and the personal is always friendly and very helpful. I would be very sad to see this brand go.

I Have always wanted to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. I booked a room for three nights four days. The stay was terrible! The plumbing was terrible the heating and a/c was just as bad. I had to call every night to open and close the windows. I asked for a fan, they brought one up that didn't work!
I was told by front desk that it's an old hotel and the heating and a/c runs on one system.
The hotel was beautiful and well maintained but my overall experience was terrible.

Well, we shocked about the ruined suite we got.
A very old Hotel but down on his knees and need urgent renovations.
we been accommodated in a large suite and stayed with our youngest daughter. The location fabulous , the room a no go.
We really expected something great and appropriate for such a Hotel reputation and surely about the price we paid for our 10 days stay, but sorry it need urgent improvements.
As I said the location is perfect, Central park, Rockefeller center, St. Patriks charge, Time Square etc.,etc. all around and the Museum are also in a walking distance.

When we arrived, check in took quite long. There was a long line! After receiving our keys,we went up to our room and found that the keys would not let us enter our room.Thankfully, after quite some time we were assisted in. Finally, the air conditioner was not working well in our room.We tried to adjust it but the buttons would not budge...it seemed to be locked!
